Hello all, have been searching for this on the forum for quite a while without any success yet. Have tried browsing and searching, so now finally I am asking in a new thread.
I have disabled the HTC messaging due to the lagging problem, so now am using the native windows messaging app. It works now without much hassle.
I used the Zenyee disable sms thingy
The problem is, the bubble notification on the slider does not light up green anymore when new SMS comes in, only a windows notification on the top of the screen.
This also affects the s2u2 lock screen, no notification of new SMS coming in. I guess these are related. I wont know there's a new sms on the phone if i missed the sound, only when i unlock the phone and see the top notification bar.
Any fix for these, you masters?
Thanks in advance.

I have done a bit of searching for this and I am having a difficult time finding a solution to my problem.
My problem is, I can't access individual notifications anymore.
I have the HTC Pure, (hence why I'm here), when I touch the top of my phone, the black bar on top with all the icons, to access the notifications section, I am able to see the new notifications, like alarm, message sent, and any other reminders. I can highlight each one, but it no longer pops up the chosen notification. I can't individually see whats new and delete them after, the only way to clear the notification region is to hit "Dismiss all"
I have the original rom that came with AT&T wm 6.5, there are only two programs that I have installed that I can think of that MAY affect the notification section of my phone.
The BKalltabs manila 2.1 wvga - which just lets you put up a picture for all the tabbed backgrounds, rather than just homescreen
The HTC hotfix for text sms - for the pure phone rather than the tilt 2 which was mentioned in this forum
forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=580679&page=2
I feel that this hotfix which "stops" the message sent notification in reality just prevents my notifications from working correctly - I say this because the "message has been sent" still shows up in the notification area...just doesn't pop up anymore.
Sorry for the long message, thought I would try to make it as detailed as possible.
Thanks for any and all help

Good Day all,
I have searched the forums thoroughly and cant find an answer to my query.
I am using energy's newest rom and like the messaging interface from microsoft and have left htc messaging uninstalled.
i use the hd2 mini lockscreen and my emails and missed call show up in the notifications, but when i get an sms it doesnt show up.
any workaround?
come on guys. nothing at all?
I recently bought a HTC HD2 and like the phone a lot. I have a problem with SMS and whenever I search for the problems with SMS they are all old and about lag which obviously was a big problem. Mine isn't as big of problem but is extremely annoying.
When I get a new message, whether on the lockscreen or not. If I use the navigation tabs to view the SMS (which you have to do from the lockscreen), I am 90% of the time directed to an older message in the conversation and not the NEW message. So then I have to scroll up to view the new message.
This is extremely annoying and I know I cant be the only one to have this problem, but it is definitely hard to search for this because it is hard to describe. Please someone help.
Also, would there be a way to go from the new SMS slider on the lockscreen directly to "All Messages" so you can bypass seeing the sms on the white sheet of paper and then having to click that to answer. Its a lot of steps for nothing.
same problem here, on Miri's ROM. it is annoying (as is the fact that when i start writing a text, after a couple of seconds the focus moves out of the text entry field, and hence i can't type any more without clicking in the field again.
not found a solution to either of these.
I've seen a thread about this yesterday I think
Anyway, just disable the SMS tab... If you do that, tapping the notification will open the Messaging application.
i suspect going to an old message from lockscreen is caused by the same thing that makes appointments stay on the lockscreen for a while after they have ended. basically the lockscreen controls poll the registry for the info that is displayed, but it doesn't update itcontinually.just now and then
I disabled the sms navigation tab and that seems to work better. The SMS app is still not as smooth as i would like it to be but what can you do...
Dear, This thread already posted. search for smstimestampfixer 1.3.cab. gud luck
Hi all,
i have a question about notifications :
How long notifications such as a received text messages disappear from the notification bar?
I often have to go to the Friends of the widget to see the new sms icon in green, after 1 or 2 hours that i cant use phone and notifications disappear.
Tnx to all
Notifications normally don't disappear until you're explicitly read them or cleared them. Text notifications should still be there even if you restart your phone.

thanks for the reply, but I still have this problem with the notifications in the bar, as if there was a deadline in time, perhaps some setting?
maybe because i installed the ota 1.72?
I also find the notifications on this phone to be haphazard. I'm sure the light notifications clear after a short time. I've missed several important messages as a result.
I will monitor this more carefully since I am not 100% certain that this behaviour is actually happening -- but I think it is.
Just got this phone last week and same here. Notifications are fine for everything except SMS. I sometimes dont get:
a) A Notification of a new SMS.
b) the messages icon on my home screen, doesnt show a new text count, with a green circle and number.
When I go into messages, there is a new sms or sms's.
Im running 1.75.110.2
and kernel 2.6.32.21
Its a pain.
Concerning the no SMS notification, it's a known bug since the 1.72 update. See http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=887098 .
I've concluded that SMS is a disaster on Android in all respects.

OK. I have been monitoring this for the last few days. I can now confirm that the notification light goes on when I receive a text (SMS) message but it does not stay on. So, if I don't notice the light at the time, I am unaware that there is a text message waiting for me.
I presume that this behaviour effects everyone running the 1.72 update.
Hi guys, hope you can help!
Basically the embarrassing situation has occurred a few times now when I'm showing my friends some features of the DHD a personal text comes in which was meant for my eyes only, however the first two lines of it are displayed in the notification bar when it arrives.
Surely there's a way to stop this from happening!?
Cheers!

If you're using HTC stock messaging app then there is no way to stop it. A solution would be to use messaging apps from the market like Handcent SMS and the likes. It will give you the ability to pop the notification but does not show the content.
I've just had a friend ask me this as well. Wanting just a notification sound and icon rather than disclosing the sender or the message body on the lock screen or in the notification bar.
I've got a DHD and don't mind if people see what i'm receiving, even to the degree that i've installed an app called ChompSMS which brings up a window on the homescreen displaying the full message.
I had a fiddle with the ChompSMS settings and it seems that you can increase the privacy settings to make it anonymise the notification, however as soon as you unlock the phone it will still show the full text in a window - I only fiddled a little bit, but couldn't find a way of disabling this without losing other features.
I uninstalled ChompSMS (for the purposes of this experiment) and had a look round at the generic (HTC) messaging settings and it seems like it's all or nothing, as soon as you turn off the 'received notification' option it greys out the options below it, meaning that you get no notification whatsoever when someone messages you (except for the green circle on the messaging widget - if you have this on your homepage).
I'm going to try installing Handcent (another popular messaging app) to see if I can make it do exactly what my friend wants done. I'll message back if I manage it.
Mike.
