hello there, does any one here have the stock rom for Starhub?
i need it for warrenty purposes
any help would be greatly appericiated!
thanks in advance!
i believe that if you're going to send it for repairs, you could just use an official RUU by HTC, and tell the staff you updated to that RUU during that time? I don't think the warranty requires you to keep the stock ROM since the warranty is by HTC? I don't know if this helps, but good luck
Mod. edit: not dev related, moved to general
thanks bro that worked
@css626 and berrytarts: Hello, I just bought my phone 1 month ago from the shop (not starhub or singtel or m1). May I know what procedure u used to root your fone, and unroot also? maybe by posting the link
I am really new to this. Thank you very very much.
My phone details is:

HBoot 1.76.0007
CPLD 12
Radio 6.35.07.29

hi bro,i had a whole lot of problems rooting also, was in the same boat as you..
then i found this link!
http://www.askabouthugo.com/mobile-technology/powerful-android-phone-gphone-my-htc-magic/
followed it and in no time my phone got rooted~
sorry for the super long delay in replying you, hope you this helps if you have not already rooted your phone!
yeah, I rooted it yesterday and now running CM-5.0.8-DS but cannot access secure network in my uni ><, no network now:-<
haha i see,thats great!
which uni you from bro?
in my poly if we go to the IT helpdesk they will help us to get connected
i'm from NTU, which poly r u from?
It keeps saying 'Secure connection cannot be established' >< but when I test it on HTC Evo with official Android 2.1 update 1 everything is fine. So the problem is from CM ROM, don't think IT helpdesk will help us then.
Too bad, I like CM 'cause of their well-known stability. Now use Android 1.6,evry thing is ok until now :-S
oic thats cool!
whoa how to get the htc evo in singapore?
im from nyp haha
hmmmm guess so,hope that cm6 will solve that then!
it's for project developing only ), can't call or sms in Singapore 'coz it use CDMA network. Look awesome but ... well ... can't have

sigh.
Why this stepmotherly treatment to some countries?

HT97TL102778 appears to be working.
Has anyone installed a UK / Europe ROM on an Asiapac device? Does it work?
Called up HTC customer care number 1800113377
asked them about "when we will get the update?". Lady on the phone clearly said "we ARE going toget the update". we just have to wait little bit more.
the update is ready with them and it is the HTC HQ's call when to release the update.
bottom line is "wait and watch http://www.htc.com/in/support.aspx"

DAMN! i'm sorry to hear about your scare...i kinda feel responsible, having suggested the idea!
may I ask why you are avoiding installing a cooked or even OFFICIAL (as in UK version) ROM? are you worried about guarantee? or the risk of damaging your phone? Because if so, then i am gladly willing to walk any1 through the steps you need to take to get it running.
Guide me pls..
drag-on.. i'll b happy if u could guide me thro the steps , i was kinda scared to install a cooked rom on my HTC diamond2 till now coz while trying to do the same with my HTC touch i bricked my mobile a year back..
and i couldnt find a proper step by guide for doin this.. in every thread regarding the same somebody or the other is getting into problems..
so pls illustrate a proper step by step guide on the procedures of installin a ROM on a factory HTC touch diamond2..
I'll be glad to. what i would then rather do is send you a private message with the steps, so that we don't clutter the forums and have snide comments from senior members about how "easy" it all is. (they ARE right, but i know the first time is scary)
i'm going partying now, but i'll be glad to send you (and any1 else who asks for a private message) step by step instructions tomorrow.
what you can do in the mean time, is have a look at which ROM you think you might want (i'll add my suggestions anyways) here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=486
thanks dude..
thanks for the help dude.. i'll go thro that documents now..
lookin forward to ur message..

Hello. I've bought HTC Magic recently. It is version 32a, as it has 288 MB of RAM.
Currently the build version is 2.16.*
So I wanted to download and upgrade to latest rom version 2.20.401.2 from HTC.
After putting my S/N HT97******** it shows me Sorry, this software download is not suitable for your device..
Is here anyone who could help me please?
If you **** around too much on the htc home pages you do not get to download any update. I do not know why it is so but so it was with me,
So turn off your browser to try again. or get a new IP address
Or **** in the slow updates and root your phone it takes five minutes. Then your phone will be double as fast .???????????
OK, I've tried changing the browser, deleting browser's cache, reconnecting to the other wifi (so other IP), but all without success.. Thanks anyway Any other suggestions please?
Try to morrow.
Kk, but I don't think it's the reason because it didn't work already when I visited HTC website for the very first time and as I wrote, I tried it with different IPs, browsers etc.. but anyway, I'll give it a try

Hello,
I just got myself a new Desire HD from eBay to replace my HD2. Unfortunatly when I got it it was branded to t-mobile even though auction said it was new, sealde and unlocked.
I have managed to permroot it. What do I need to do now? I tried to run the HTC latest firmwas for this device and comes up with error131 wrong customer ID.
My knoledge is very basic about this so any help would be grateful.
Thanks
Robert
If the phone wasn't as described then return it. Was it sealed in its box?
Can you make & receive calls?
If your trying to flash a Stock HTC ROM over a T-Mobile branded/locked DHD you will get an error.
Hi thanks for reply.
Yeah the phone did not say in auction that it wasbranded just unlocked and sealed. When I got it I could see that it had been opened as the tape that was used to seal the box wasn't sticky anymore and it had been inserted the wrong way round. It has obviously been opened to unlock it.
As the phone is unlocked I thought I thought I would be able to flash any stock rom onto it that is avaliable. I really don't want t-mobile logos on startup and there apps when I have a vodaphone sim.
Thanks again.
If you want a generic HTC ROM you will need to root & S-OFF your DHD. Guides are available in the Dev section.
If you need any help just let us know. There are quite a few friendly people round here.
Hay thanks for the reply !!
I managed to do the permroot thing. I was reading up on anything I had to do else. Which guide would you recomend to do the S-Off? Can I just run the HTC.exe rom then to install it?
I was also reading up on something called supercid do I need to do this as well?
Thanks so much!! It saves me loads of hassle trying to return it. That and am phoneless without it at the moment lol
Robert
Hello
Would just like to say thanks I managed to get the stock HTC rom on the DHD thanks too the help on here.
Was just curious do I need to reactivate the S-OFF to go back to S-On i presume? If I did that would I still be able to install new stock roms when they come out now there is a stock rom on phone?
Thanks so much again. This phone is great Android is so much better supported that Windows Mobile!

No problem at all.
If you flashed the Stock HTC ROM from the RUU, then it will have Security On (S-ON) If you want to flash a custom ROM, then you will need to go through the whole procedure again, but flash a custom recovery (Clockwork Mod), to make the the whole process safer and easier.
Hi all,
I was hoping someone can help me with this.
For some reason, my phone is a Taiwan build (707) but came with an HK rom (721).
I found this out when I got in touch with HK due to being unable download
Ship Rom 1.36.721.3 (94538) WWE. They told me I have an unlicensed rom.
So if the phone came with 721 rom, but physical build should have 707, which one do you think is considered by HTC as my phone's original rom?
Your input is much appreciated
Cheers,
curiouser

Email htc and give them your S/N which is under the battery and they tell you about your original rom..... I did that some day ago.
Hi hazhysalon,

thanks for your reply anyway.

Sorry about bumping this old thread.
But I've got the exact same isuue, and am curious what HTC told Curiouser [] about the awkward situation of the smart-phone.
May I ask what did they tell you Curiouser?
Hi,
The build is the rom, so TW in my case, and prob yours. Don't know how or why, but the reseller was able to put the HK rom on top of the TW one
It's ok, since you can still update the rom (I'm using nsourm still)
I forget the actual process now but you should be able to find the guide in the threads here.
I would advise you, though, that the process might revert the phone back to the orig TW rom, which is Chinese.
I don't know Chinese, so it would help you if you took screen shots of the process while it's still in English. That way, if it does go back to Chinese, the buttons remain in the same spot so you can still wing it.
Have fun.

Wow! Didn't expect a fast reply! Thanks a lot Curiouser! Both for the fast reply and the reply itself.
Hi!
I have a HTC Surround, with a DFT Custom ROM.
SO version: 7713.WM7_Main(DFT).20110803-0252
Firmware: 2250.21.15204.DFT
Hardware: 0003
Radio Softaware: 5.51.09.06_22.30.50.09U
Radio Hardware: A.26.0.D4
Boot loader: 1.52.2250.4(120323) (HSPL)
Chip: 2.2.5.0
And I would really like to get back to the official HTC ROM, so I've downloaded this one:
RUU_Mondrian_Cingular_US_1.03.502.07_5.51.09.06_22 .30.50_RELEASE.exe
My question is, can I just flash it normally?
HSPL won't be a problem?
What I need to do to get back to the original ROM without bricking my phone?
Thanks!

Thanks!

Original AT&T ROM now
hi.. please can u give me some answers?
i bought an HTC Surround three days ago, I'm from Brazil, and I bought it on a Website... it was new.. in the original box and all... it probably came from the USA, since there's no original version of htc surround here in my country...
i'm going through a problem though. i first saw when i turned on my phone, that it was with a 'Dark Team Forces' logo.. and indeed i did my 'homework' and saw it is a custom rom... the problem is that with this rom, the Volume only works at 100!
i dont know why, the alarms dont work too, and this is causin me problems... i really liked the phone, its totally amazing, but this thing that the volume only works at 100 is terrible... if i decrease it to 99,98,97, doesn't mather, the sound just doesn't come out.
There is my doubt. I'm wanting to Downgrade it to the Original WP7 rom... the original system, but I'm afraid that If i'd do it, i wouldn't be able to use my SIMCARD normally as I'm doing now, with the brazilian's phone providers...
I'm very used to Android, but about WP7 I'm an advanced beginner haha...
How could I do the flashing anyway? What's the programs, the roms, what do I do? I'd appreciate your help, really.
Thank you everybody from XDA.

Friend thank you for the fast answer.
I'm really in trouble and needing help. hehehe.
As I am very 'newbie' at this topic, could you please be more specific in the stuff u said?
I mean, I didn't even know that there were such websites like u said that can 'unblock' the SIM... could u give me any example?
And about the ROM you said, do you know where I can find it, any clue or link to guide me there?
And about flashing, this isn't a big problem, i believe i can find tutorials of flashing with WP7 here in XDA...
Sorry if I'm asking too much, but I really need it!!
Thanks a lot my friend!
linkinbrr , I had the EXACLTY same problem!
I'm brazilian too!
I bought it from Mercado Livre (like Ebay).
I just installed the orignal ROM and it works fine now!
I could update all the way to mango afterwards.
But now i'm using another custom ROM, it's not from DFT, it works really great.(It's unlocked)
Here it goes!
