Some people would like to have the call history
Actually it is possible, if you are very careful, to press the call button to go to Dialer without redialling. Perhaps it a is sensitivity issue on the phone.

I know Sifaan,
But I erase call History, messages, mail, empty cache anyway to keep phone clean and save memory/storage space.( then use clean ram )
this is for those who find the redial issue annoying enough to sacrifice call hist.
to stop the problem. But I get your point.

Is there any way to disable the dialer sounds. I would think that by disabling them, it would increase the responsiveness.
I really hate the delay from when you press the number to when you actually hear it.

Go to Settings/Phone/Keypad and change to off.
duh! Thanks, I failed to try that.
The AT&T tilt doesn't have Settings/Phone/Keypad. Can I enable that in Kaiser tweak? I couldn't see it anywhere.
[REQ] Does anyone know if there is a way to close the dialer on call end? I always have to turn it off manually, which is a bit annoying. Thanks!
I think you might be on to something here, im having some issues with landscape mode and the dialer that only occurs when i have "non closed" dialers in the background.

+1! I'm annoyed by this too!
+1 same here, if you dont close it and just put it in your pocket, The person's name gets pushed and it calls them back, very annoying.

When I press END CALL, I want it to end...I don't need to see the dialer again.
Obviously everyone has figured out you can hit the end call button twice and it retuns to the home screen but I am with you. While at some points I may be making a call and then another call and the number may not be in my phone book and I may actually need the dialer again, mostly I dont. I would much rather it just go back to home screen when the call is ended as the default action.

I usually have to hit END CALL 3 or 4 times before the stupid phone responds. But yes, I too would like the dialer to go bye bye and return to the home screen. I guess leaving it up is convenient for people that make a lot of consecutive calls, but that's a minority of users (i.e. teenage girls/hard core business users).
My Dialer closes automatically after about 5 seconds.....

You know I haven't been patient enough to wait 5 secs...but if that's the case...there should be a registry key for that we can change.
confirmed ... after 5 sec it dissapear ... but i can`t find registry key to change that time :/
I wonder if it actually closes or if it goes into some sort of hidden minimized view, i will try to ul a video i captured of the behavior im having.
I need this too much too
http://www.soft.nu/~andhil/htctouchpro.wmv
3.5MB .wmv of the issue i think is related to "unclosed" dialers.

Try this registry setting:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Phone]
"CallProgressIdleTimeout"=dword:00000000

If you mean call duration, goto Call History and select the one you want to see.
Yes....all call duration...i can not see that menu...
In the Call window/screen just press Menu then you will find it.. or press Favorite icon from Call screen then you will find History icon too.
wrong section
I know im not the only one who has this issue...If im on a call and have a black screen the want to hang up, more often than not I find myself waiving my phone around or trying to find a button that will wake up the screen so I can end the call. anyone have a quick way to get this done? thanks.
just move the screen away from your head and the screen should light up
If it doesn't return phone to stock with odin then take it into sprint and tell them you want it fixed (If you have insurance)
its normally when im on speakerphone and have my phone on a table or center console
I have some icon on my screen that I can't get off... Can you help?"?????D?SD
OO then try changing your "screen timeout"
Settings---> Display--->Screen timeout
try setting it a little higher so it wouldn't turn off

Hey! Don't say that! It's only true if you believe it to be! lol..
BTW.. I love your signature...
OP.. Try waving your finger over the top portion of the housing above the screen and see if it is your screen protector messing with the proximity sensor by lifting the corner to give it unobstructed access to light..... That is a pretty common issue...
Another option is to enable ending the call with the power key (assuming your on 2.2)... This way, even if the screen is unlit, a simple press of the power key will disconnect the call.
To enable this option, hit Menu->Settings->Accessibility->(if you get a popup saying "No accessibility applications found", just hit cancel)->then toggle the box next to "The power key ends calls".

the only problem with this is if you're on a call that you need to press numbers on (like press 1 for english, 2 for spanish, etc).
the only way I know to wake up the screen when on speaker is the power button so for that reason only, I'd advise against this. I say just tap the power button and be on your way.

PERFECT! Thats just what I needed
I know this is an odd question but I'm trying to figure out what the button to the left of the call button in the phone is. It's a picture of a microphone with a phone.
I debloated using the toolkit (Galaxy S5 ALL-IN-ONE Toolkit v1.7) and whatever it was is now deleted. I'm going through and adding back some of the things i don't consider bloat and am just wondering what this button was supposed to do.
<edit> come on, 28 people have looked at this and no response. PLEASE just click the dang thing and tell me what it does. I'll hit the thanks button.

If you tap the button it allows you to speak the name (if in contact list) or number of a person you want to call.

thanks. taking out s-voice must be what deactivated it
I'm not sure S Voice has anything to do with it, as you can also tell the button to use Google Search as a voice dialer.
Edit: Never mind, it definitely is S Voice. You can use Google Search for a voice dialer, but you still must have S Voice installed for it to work, even if you don't use it.
