Hello all;
I purchased Mugen battery 1800mAh, received it a week ago. After doing the initial charge-discharge for three cycles. Today is the third day I am runing the phone without charging, moderate use, bluetooth, music, messaging, downloading stuff and regular calling, I have 41% life left. I have BatteryTime, Advanced Task killer and Startup auditor.
I would highly recommend for you all who have problems to purchase this battery it is a great performer.
I am in no way affiliated with Mugen, just a satisfied customer
I´ve the same battery and i can confirm that it´s definitely a huge improvement. Almost 3 days in a row without charging.

Anybody know where to get these in the UK?

I got mine off da bay, I think they ship international
If the sony updates dont improve battery life then i might purchase one.
I bought one also, and I'm very happy with it, because the original one last only 7h for me.
ey guys, could you say a comparison of times between the original one and this huge?
P.D: Could you tell me the ebay seller, i cant find it anywhere
Just google for the battery. You´ll find the online store.

What is the mAh rating of the standard battery and how does the physical size and weight compare to the standard one?
I believe standard 1500 ma and Mugen 1800 ma.
I read a test that slated the allegedley higher power batteries as ina test they actually perfomed worse electrically than standard. Can't remember where though - Google is your friend (as long as you don't have an Android phone and want to use bluetooth voice dialling!)
just put my order in today..10-15 days till it arrives. hope its worth the 33$

Hi, I have this battery, too. I followed all the instructions that came with the battery (4-5 full cycles, 12 hour each charge, NEVER leave to 0% charge) but the life of the battery is worst than the stock Sony Ericsson one...

That´s what I thought for myself. The manufacturer provide the best battery solution as possible with their devices. So it´s not worth to buy an other battery.
This is a comparison between the stock battery and the Mugen battery. The Mugen battery is floating a bit more so I added 2 different graphs.

Not to disappoint anyone here, but these Mugen guys are sort of known to overrate battery capacity a bit. Just do a google search and lots of alarming things will pop. I would generlly recommend against using anything but OEM batteries

Nice find, i would really like to see how it compares to the standard battery....
Looks like they are not available until next week. They are only taking pre-orders now. But 3000mAh...WOW! I have heard that Mugen batteries are some of the best you can buy too.
does anybody have any pictures of it? The site did not incllude any.
if it's 3000mAh and comes with a new battery door, you can bet it's as ugly as sin. I understand the importance of a bigger battery, in fact I have the Seido one in my Tilt right now, but why would you want to turn a phone that's already pushing maximum size/weight and add a nice big hump to it? crazy....
If it looks a bit like this:

you can imagine that I won't buy such an item... like smittyofdhs said; it's already pushing the limits.
Plus, if it is the same as the one in the picture, you are no longer able to use an external GPS-receiver (if you do).
Does it come with Nitrous Oxide (NOS)?
Someone has to be a guinea pig
I ordered one yesterday. I need the battery life since I'm not always able to recharge when needed. So, if it's fat and ugly, I'll still have my OEM and swap them as needed.

I have yet to find an external GPS receiver that would work with the Kaiser. If you find one please let me know.
edit: if it's a 300mah battery it's probably be this one
http://4ustuff.com/info.php?itno=2277 It has a thicker door than the 2800mah battery.
Can anyone enlighten us on these extended batteries, I myself feel that I could do with one, looking at the 2700 mAH one available here http://www.gpsforless.co.uk/product_details.php?id=11658 costs about 16 pounds including delivery in the UK. However the only thing stopping me at the moment is the fear of damaging my Kasier using one of these Big Fat ones (high capacity batteries). Since they are a UK based company I would imagine shipping is from the UK unlike the ebay sellers who send you the battery from Hongkong, which is not too bad if you dont mind waiting 7-9 working days. The ones i found on ebay seem to be 3000 mAH and for about 14 pounds including delivery. Wonder how long they take to attain a full charge?
Anyone with any take here!
Think the most irritating thing with the Kaiser is that you can not use the keyboard on a flat table or so, because it is not stable anymore

I have been using a 2700 mAh battery from gpdforless (which has a .uk address) for the last three weeks. Kaiser works fine with it, no noticeable problems. It keeps the charge for complete day, with push Microsoft email and bluetooth constantly on.
How much does this "Extended Size Hi–Power 3000mAh Battery for HTC TyTN II (Kaiser) PPCs." cost in USD from the mugen online store?? i goto check out and i get these numbers..
HLI–P4550XL 57.55 / 83.45¹ 57.55 83.45
But i have no idea if thats euros but they are in the netherlands so i guess it would be euros if it is.... it makes the battery about $80usd or $116usd the shipping right now is free but thats still a bit high.
edit: oops found the answer "All prices are in Euro / US Dollar ex VAT*" small print
Just curious if enough people complain, can anything be done to improve it?
I know there are tweaks but i prefer one from htc directly.
If anything, the updates for battery life will come from Froyo.
What HTC DOES need to fix though, is the touch sensor lag on the phone. It's impossible to play ping pong on my Evo.
gotcha...yeah i was playing with a friends iphone, and before today, i didn't notice the lag on the screen until i web browsed with the iphone.
Take action into your own hands and fix it yourself. Removing most of the bloatware and social networking crap increases battery life substantially.
Personally i don't care if I miss my buddies face book status update or if Angie replied to my comment about her tits on twitter. Some can't live without that though.

I have to say that I find the battery life fairly decent...and I am running most of the widgets and have gmail set to push... I took it off of the charger this morning ~7:30, and it died at 9:30 this evening. Thats with about 30 minutes of Pandora streaming over 3G, downloading several apps, watching a couple of YouTube videos, a phone call, some texting...basically normal use. I think that 14 hours of battery life on a phone like this with that type of use is pretty good... Its not a circa 2001 flip phone with a monochrome lcd display that can last for a week or more...but it is heck of a lot more device. just MHO
God I remember those good old days, charging your phone once every two weeks. Car chargers were unheard of.

yep! nice from one perspective, not so much from another! Oh yeah, and I just got the phone on Monday, so that was really only the 2nd full charge cycle. Charging it with the phone off all night tonight, we'll see how long it lasts in the coming days/weeks...I bet it does better! Anyway, I feel pretty comfortable that as long as I anticipate how long I need to go between charges, I can tailor my usage to that...so if i need it to last 20 hours, I will not use Pandora, watch YouTube, or download stuff... Not that hard!

What are you doing to get Android System battery usage down so low? I turned off the Sense home screen and installed ADW. That helped a little. And I'm only using like 4 widgets and some shortcuts. It's still at like 40-50%.
The longer you use the phone the lower Android system goes...not doing anything special everything pretty much stock as the phone came. One thing that does cause huge battery drain that I ran into was setting up the Flikr account but removing it put the battery use back to normal.
i get the exact same battery life with my evo as i did with my hero, using the same battery though. wonder if that makes a difference...
I just got me Evo two days ago, and flashed DamageControl's rom. I don't live in a 4G area, so I have that shut off. I generally don't turn on WiFi or GPS unless I'm actually using them. I did have wifi on a few times yesterday, but for a total of no more than 45 minutes. I have three email accounts, two that update as soon as mail comes in, and one that checks every hour. My corporate and google contacts sync as well as both calendars. I have facebook syncing in the background as well.
I did a decent amount of emailing and some web browsing. Even with all that I went 23 hours and 36 minutes before the battery went red and it told me to charge it.
I was worried with all the horror stories I heard, but that was pretty incredible battery life for my average use of the phone.
Is your battery completely covered in the orange HTC wrapping or does it have spots on the back where you can see the silver underneath?
It looks like it's completely covered. Although I would say it's red not orange. I couldn't tell you which batch it came in as I got it off of Craigslist.

I usually average 2 days on a charge, usually at least 35 straight hours. Having a second backup battery gives me more than 3 full days.
I think most of the problem lies in how the phone charges the battery; usually it doesn't charge the battery to 100%, but it thinks it has. Some days I get 5 hours out of my phone and other's 12 to 15.
I've tried every tweak I can find and run fresh 1.0.1, too.
I think I'm going to have to buy that 2 batteries and charger for the HD2 on ebay for $10; anybody have that link?

Drocap2 works excellent
I am relatively certain the Evo battery has a break-in period. My first week owning the device I was running:
Voice
SMSPopup
Push Gmail
Push Exchange
3G on / WiFi off
Did some gaming, light browsing, lot of texting, moderate usage over the course of a day.
I got about 8 hours tops before the battery died. That was with the screen brightness at HTC's "medium" level.
Yesterday, I had the same running in the background, did the same things except I also read a bunch using the Kindle app, and used GPS a bit, and I was at 60% after 26 hours off the charger. No special "tricks" like task killers (ew!) or underclocking hacks or startup killers or anything.
Huh...I am not where near getting that much. About to start my fourth week with phone and still in the 12-14 hours.
Are you all doing the charging routine or just plugging in? If I just plug in I definitely only get to about 10pm. If I do the charging routine I can get still have about 30% by evening.
Was someone having issues with the battery life on the Evo??? Cause I'm not.
I did 2 test with 2 different batterys with Nova Battery Tester
1-original 1650mAh (3yrs old)
2-Mugen extended 3200mAh (+- 2yrs old)
these are my findings

as you can see it lost a bit capacity, i was very suprising to see it only lost about 400mAh in a period of 3 years
MugenPower 3200mAh battery
here is the result of the test of the Mugen 3200mAh battery.
(bought it used a year ago, so i dont know how long it was used before i bought that).
i did my research, this battery has been tested (new) and give arround +- 2400mAh in real-time though.. Mugen claiming its 3200mAh
It lost a but capacity but not by much as you can see it lost about +- 250mAh in a period of 2 years orso, so im very pleased with the performance
btw for informative purposes the screen was at full brightness in both tests
Please post your result also inhere so we can see the differences!

Yeah thats why i bought it used for like 25$ it had 2 cases (one with a kickstand wich was broken) and still with 1 month warranty left on paper .. so i contact them (dutch shop) and told them that my case was damaged so i send them my mugenbattery-kit and got everything back as new within a few days! and i dont know if they included a new battery also.... maybe it was a new battery but im not 100% sure ... i should have marked the battery before send it in
and somehow my CPU performance is performing better with the mugen battery according to the test
ill post my results tomorrow hopefully, doing first test now, but the second battery, supposed to be a extended life one, needs charging..
The app crashes at the end of the test, was looking forward seeing the results, oh well

I have ordered a new genuine battery since my old one is dying after 2 years of usage and flashing. I will do the test with the old and the new one to see the difference. So I just set the screen to full brightness and always on, switch on wifi, gps, bluetooth and leave the phone from 100% battery to 0% right?

No! turning on flightmode will do the trick (everything should be off otherwise you can recive calls and messages in the middel of the test)...then open Nova Battery tester app it will automaticly turn on the screen on its brightest level, before you click on "start benchmark" go to the setting and switch to "long" test (for best accurate result-from 100% to 5% if im not mistaken). then start benchmark, :good:

I assume anyone getting more than 48 hours of battery life is turning off data, or at least disabling updates/background data. Just out of curiosity, do you always keep that turned off, or do you just do that when you're seeing how much you can squeeze out of the battery? In my mind, the big reason to get a device with a big battery is so you don't have to baby the battery like that.
