im so sick of everyone complaining about outdated software, missing features just be happy with your phone. if its so crap why the hell did you get in the 1st place? were u hoping for an update or root? in that case you should have waited for either one of those to happen before buying the phone.
im getting my x10 on monday (im from australia) and ive played around with the store demos and truthfully its a great phone, had a hard choice between x10 and desire, but thruthfully i dont like the fact that HTC 'cheated' on the resolution of their 'amoled' screen and by the way the I8000 amoled is better anyway but whites are better on a TFT screen (just an observation, correct me if im wrong but thats my opinion)
currently i have Samsung I8000 (before that samsung i900) and if i waited for samsung to update it to 6.5 in australia id have jumped off a cliff. phone got hacked, updated to 6.5.3 and 6.5.5 and guess what only like last week did samsung decide to officially release an update for the phone (an official one) and its outdated by about 4-6 months to what im actually running on the phone. and guess what after all that i still love the phone.
(by the way HTC had windows mobile 6.5 about a year ago)
i researched, played around and got what i wanted and what had the features that i needed.
loved every phone i had and will have.... want to know why? ITS BECAUSE I GET A PHONE WHICH HAS WHAT I NEED AND WANT NOT WHAT LOOKS BEST OR IS 'TRENDY'
SO IF YOU GO SO MANY PROBLEMS AND SO DISAPPOINTED WITH SONY ERICSSON WHY, SERIOUS, WHY THE HELL DID YOU GET THE XPERIA X10????
JUST A THOUGHT, MAYBE IM TOO AMBITIOUS IN ASSUMING PEOPLE BUY PHONES BECAUSE THEY NEED THEM AND NOT BECAUSE THEY LOOK LIKE A GREAT SHINY NEW TOY
very true dude i cant stand everyone *****ing about this phone. If you dont like the phone dont bloody get it in the first place simple !
And your moaning about people winging and moaning?....

Hi Aussie buddy. I agree about the ott whining, especially because s.e. have confirmed at least a 2.1 update. Tbh, I buy my phones based on aesthetics (had a hero before the x10) so I'm getting everything I want and more with this beaut.

hey if all the wingers can winge... so i decided to winge about wingers winging lol
I buy a phone with the following specifications: geotagging with a good camera, good autonomy, blah blah blah. So finally I get a phone with a lot of bugs. No geotagging with a poor camera (maybe not the hardware but software), very bad autonomy, blah blah blah.
Understand "blah blah blah" like my english is not very good.. and I don't want to fire my brain to write what you can read for everyone that own a X10 and use it like a smartphone, not only a mobile phone. So, if you are happy with X10 maybe you waste a lot of money purchasing it. Due to, if you want to call and write some SMS.. why you didn't buy a Nokia 6210?
Check that my friend > http://www.htcmania.com/showpost.php?p=1079784&postcount=1 > if you think that you have a good smartphone in your hands, you have the same criterion like my mum about a good smartphone it's.
Oh! I forgot... I didn't dream with Froyo.. I dream with a X10 without tons of bugs. Only!
You're right of course.. people should focus on the positives of the phone and not just ***** about the things that are wrong.. although it's very easy to get drawn in to the issues about poor customer service and responsiveness from SE.. which it actually the most worrying things about owning the flagship SE handset..
One last point.. and apologies in advance for being picky... but it's "Whinging" not "winging"

You are a fool.
The only reason I can like my phone is because it was expensive? You gotta have a pretty f'ed up life if that's what makes you happy. I like the phone because I can do anything I could possibly want on it, I have no "bugs", and I have amazing battery life. The phone is exactly what I wanted.
Also, it wasn't expensive for me either. In Japan, the Xperia is cheaper than the iPhone 3GS. $280US for new customers, $380US for existing.

I agree the Phone is full of Bugs if you use it intense. I bought the Phone because the Features sounded good to me. It does all what it is supposed to do but non of it it does right , that's what is my personal main Issue with the Phone. Besides the low Call Volume is especially in a noisy environment pretty annoying. Once all those bugs are fixed i am sure we will have a pretty nice Phone , including the 2.1 update of course. Just my Phones usually don't live that long and probably by the end of the Year i don't own the Xperia anymore.

Geotagging works just fine. All my friends faces show up in Mediascape/Timescape. The tags don't get erased. Wifi connects/disconnects just fine for me, I only use it at home, occasionally, since 3G is more than fast enough for downloading small apps/internet/email. I get over a day of battery life easily. I used GPS for MyTracks to track my drive home tonight for an hour. I used the internet often, watched 15 minutes of High Quality YouTube videos, sent a bunch of emails, took several photos, and downloaded a few apps of the market. Still have 27% battery life, which will last me until the morning. (It's 2 am right now where I am.)
Is it really that hard for you to believe that someone is not having problems with their phone? My only problem I've had was the USB port cover falling off somewhere. I was kinda pissed off about that, but a 1 minute trip to the Docomo store, and I had a new port cover, for free.

Do not forget the Japanese (Docomo) X10 is different to the other X10 , eg talking about more RAM and dunno what else Sony might have changed in the Japanese Version.

Hey... you got it. Check the image. You don't have ID-Tag 0001 and 0003 in the picture and you don't know if the latitude and longitude is positive or negative... so you can not geolocate it with picasa (for example).

Didn't you even checked the camera of phone before purchaising??? I found the camera pretty decent, better than Satio, Aino, W995 in day light. Much better than all other available android devices currently.
Here's a small comparison.
HTC Desire
SE X10
I can't post full pictures, but both pictures were taken same day same time same place.
I knew what i'm purchaising & i'm happy with X10. No that kind of bugs i can't live with...

Ehmmm actually battery it's very bad. You only need to have a HTC Legend in your hands to see what I say. Of course, if you don't use your phone you will get a big autonomy, but if you setup Google Sync and keep all time 3G active.. you will get 18 hours as maximun vs. two/three days of the Legend. Of course it is a bug, read about the next update here >> http://translate.google.es/translat...tade-med-lasarna-1.338239.html?firstComment=0 if nothing it's wrong with the battery... why we will get 100% increased autonomy? Why?
Good night!

LOL!
All resellers in my town are either worshipping the latest HTC models and/or the X1 like it's the second coming of Jesus Himself. And if battery life was one of the concerns for sending it back I wonder why this didn't arise with the poorer-battery-life Diamond hmmm...
what a load of bull. must be a slow news day for them.
Battery life is good for me with my UK phone! Much better than my Kaiser ever was!
Camera's ok also... No idea what they are talking about..
Agreed, what a load of bull!
come on
Try the iphone and you will know poor batt life! My HD goes about two days without a charge. Love It!!
I've had no problems myself, if anything the battery life is better than I expected for a device with such a large screen. My local Orange shop also seemed to be very much in favour of the HD.
orange CS are reporting lots of muppets sending them back coz of poor battery performance.
..... next time HTC, dont make such a good phone.....then we wont play with it so much
haha yeah, i find that my battery drains fast ..... BECAUSE I NEVER STOP TINKERING lol, screw that idiotic post
I've been impressed with the battery myself. Given the gps, 3g, huuuuge screen, it's very good indeed.
Camera is rubbish and basically a gimmick, but so are all phones.
hmmm - this thread rings a bell! LOL
Acelister should be able to give some inside info???
Please vote and post why you like your x10
And if you could have any phone right now other than x10 what would it be?
I own a Sensuous Black Xperia X10i and its one of the best phones out there. Though it has Android 1.6, it offers everything i want. It looks cool, works well, i get a good battery life. Am very satisfied with the phone
Yes,
Because I bought it! It has the design factor I am looking for, its android and its white and its Sony + its a perfect size, not too big like HD2 and not too small like iphone. It fits in hand really nicely. Since I like tech, I wished it had the most updated android as well but I will wait.
VERY happy with my X10!!! I sold my Nexus One running 2.2 for it. Never once did I look back and say "damn, why did I do that". Although the X10 is only running 1.6 it does a damn good job at it. The phone is sexy as hell, far better looking than alot of others out there imo anyway...and when 2.1 hits its gonna be SWEET!!!!
ps. I was all hyped about 2.2 when I had my nexus, when I got it ota I was very disapointed! all the hype for absolutly NO difference in my opinion....a couple extra useless options and did not notice any speed difference...so with the X10 just dropping 2.1 im totally cool with it.
No I am not happy with the Xperia x10 (I have the black one)
It looks cool as all hell, and has a nice display, but these problems are quite upsetting:
1. So sign of multi touch ever (Its important to me, dont care is anyone else cares or not)
2. I can hear people fine, though a bit quiet, but other can't hear me sometimes.
3. Typing on it is hard.
4. Screen collects fingerprints and does not have an oil resistant coating.
I find the phone runs fast, smooth. And I love the camera, but I can't put up with these issues.
Hope that someone accepts my offer to trade me either an iphone 3gs or 4

Typing on any touchscreen is a bit of a challenge with a full QWERTY keyboard - but withAndroid (even 1.6 ) you can install a plethora of other input options (ie. Swype, which is faster and easiter than anything ever.)
Oh, yeah, and I love my x10.

Yup was totally disappointed with the N1 the X10 is much better IMO. All the hype with 2.2 is overblown. On the N1 I didn't see the dramatic speed improvements. I don't even know what Google was thinking releasing Activesync support in the half broken state they did, at least in terms of corp. email support. I am curious to see how much faster the X10 will be with 2.1 on it.

Yeah I installed the HTC keyboard and it was better. I honestly think that the lack of MT is causing me issues. I can type with my wives iphone 3GS no problem and I think its because I am a very fast texter, hell I text faster than I type! I think I end up hitting multiple keys with the x10 causing the errors.

No.
Bought it when the multi-touch announcement came about, was on the fence until that. Was later greeted by the fact that it lacks it from a hardware standpoint, after spending my $600. Thought it was alright, could live without it. Grew more and more annoyed with laggy software, and then the straw that broke the camel's back was that I started having random restarts.
My phone is now un-usable if there is a sim card inside (will restart on boot), and is waiting to be shipped out to SE for repair.
What phone would I get if I had the option? Probably the EVO 4G or the Iphone 4.
NO
i got SE X10 white
i admit its sexy as hell
but
1- in call volume is very low , i barely can hear people when im walkin in the streets
2- lack of MT
3- low amount of RAM unlinke nexus
4- it lags alot of times
YES.
I bought the phone the day it came out and it set me back bought 700$. Coming from an iPhone that wasn't jailbroken before ios having an x10 was a whole new view on freedom. It was first laggy at first, but after debrand, rooting, new software, etc. I'm starting to like this phone a lot. Only lags on lock screen.
Browsing is great on the huge screen and typing on the horizontal keyboard isn't awkward like the iPhone. Tactile feedback is great too. The only thing ill probably ***** about is no multitouch. Can't play fps games like on iPhone. But its only games.
Writing reports on the phone in documents to go is great too.

Like the phone so much. I learn something new everyday. White has a killer looks. One guy who owns a 3GS told me after playing with my phone for your few minutes and after I shown him the demo movie that was on the phone, that he's going to buy one. Android Market is great, whatever you want your phone to do, there's an application in the Market that will make it happen...
I have the Sensuous Black too, and love it!
It's a Sony Ericsson, it's touch-screen, it's Android & it's a beautiful piece of equipment, and even if it wasn't getting an O.S upgrade would have still bought it. 1.6 gives me everything I need, so the upgrade is going to be nothing more than a bonus for me.
Yup, love mine with exception of bluetooth not working with my car kit. 9/10

I'm not voting because I don't even know if I'm happy with my x10. Being my first Android phone, I can say that I'm having fun playing around with it, and its non-iPhone-like looks allows it to stand out from the crowd. Somehow, I'm having regrets on buying it, but I think I would probably still feel some regrets if I had gotten a Nexus One or Galaxy S (btw Galaxy S was available to me at $0, as was the X10). I guess I'm just not ready for the Android platform, as I still feel that it's much easier to make phone calls on a Symbian(Nokia) phone. Also, the lack of Ovi Maps and PuTTy on my new phone leaves much to be desired. Connectbot just doesn't cut it, as lots of page switching is required when using it with Full Keyboard. Not exactly the kind of hassle a VIM user would expect.
My other gripes with the X10 are probably the common ones mentioned throughout the X10 community, like the outdated OS, MT, yada yada. Still, I'd give anything to own an Android phone which doesn't look like the iPhone.
Edit: Hah, this is funny. About 30 minutes after I posted this message, I received an update notification about Connectbot. Turns out the new update allows me to send Ctrl and Esc without having to use Full Keyboard, so I'm all good with VIM now
i voted no because i got the phone the first month it was relased. so i just used it for one month and the phone died :'( from april till now trying to find a solution :'( wish it comes back to life some day... now im really thinking about getting an x10min pro and move on with my life right now just using the crazy wild x1

Where did you get it from?
EDIT: Just bumped one of your posts.
Maybe.
Why?
Because at the moment I don't have Wi Fi or a data plan, so I don't know the full features of the phone. I'm in a new country before school has started, so no contacts because I haven't made friends yet. So really, there is not much use for me except listening to a few songs and watching podcasts.
I personally like Apple's iTunes store to get applications and to easily transfer media to your device. There is no such online store for Android. It makes my life harder because you are forced to use an internet connection on your phone to get apps.
It also sucks that you can't make your computer internet connection (wired) into a wireless one for your phone to use. You can do the reverse, tethering, but no reverse-tethering.
Plus the battery life is concerning me. I'm forced to uninstall applications that I may use later on for a better battery life. My iPod touch has better battery life than the SE Xperia X10.
I'll just have to see after I get my Wi Fi working. At the moment I rarely even use my phone. Hopefully it turns into a miracle.
Im going to be coming over to the Epic from the hero. Just wondering if it is worth it or not yet. I still see there are issues and all, but I dont mind that. As long as samsung is diligently working on a fix. unlike HTC, I hope samsung is a tad better.

That's debatable - Samsung's history is not great in fixing things.
That said, as a new Epic owner myself, I do feel like some people are getting a little crazy about a few issues that for most people are going to be relatively minor or even unnoticed. The two issues that come up a lot are GPS and the 3G upload speed. Both of these *seem* to be relatively simple fixes; the GPS issue just seems to be relying on outdated data cache (solution: flush the cache), while the upload speed seems to have been broken with an earlier software update... meaning it should be easy enough for them to fix it again. *Should be* being the key phrase. If Samsung doesn't see the cost benefit from doing so, then they will just keep advertising and selling the phone as is.
In actual practice, I haven't yet run across a situation where these issues have really affected me, though it does annoy me that I can't really do video calling if I wanted to, and that if I shot a video and wanted to directly upload it to YouTube or something, I probably couldn't really do that either. But these are hypotheticals; these are not things I normally do every day. As for GPS, I've been using it for turn-by-turn directions and haven't had any problems, though I know what the problem actually is and that I might run into it at some point. But my dedicated GPS unit had this same issue and I dealt with it for the first year that I owned it (at which point it too received an update... that I paid $80 for).
I'm still in my return window but there isn't really a phone I'd want to return the Epic for. I need a keyboard and the only other phone that really appeals to me is the Droid 2, but I don't want to pay extra for Verizon's plans. So I'll probably just keep the Epic and hope they fix the issues; it's not like they're real killers the way I use the phone. Overall this is a great phone. Sucks up juice a little more than I'd like, but it's insanely fast, has a screen that might even be *too* good (the screen uses most of the battery, and I don't need perfect black levels on my phone), has the best keyboard available on a phone right now, and is generally just a pleasure to use as long as your usage pattern doesn't run into those couple issues it has.

Why does everyone say that they can't do video calling?
I constantly Fring camchat with my friend on her Evo on 3G. She says the video quality isn't perfect on her end, but its never prevented me from video calling! Even on low bars (1-2 bars) i still can comfortably have a conversation over the webchat.

Not if u plan on using 4g indoors.
Sent from my SPH-D700 using XDA App
I think this phone is great, the gps is good enough but it could be better, I never use the gps inside my house, so I don't really care the indoor, now once I step outside it only takes couple second to lock me.
About the 3g, well I have the same issue but most of the time I'm in a wifi (House, work) so I don't really care about it, but I would be nice if they have some fix to it...I don't get 4g neither in house and work, so don't care about it either.
The I came from the TP2 and just android itself made me jump to this phone, I really hate the keyboard compare to the tp2, so far I haven't use video calling from phone to PC which is what matters to me (please skype hurry up).
The screen on this phone is just great!!! Perfect for movies (not from the Hub, too expensive) I got the movie from my bro hd2 and they look great, now I need to get avatar from my friend I see myself using the phone for movies so much but whenever I want to its totaly worth it.
For games, well its fast! The response to me its awesome, I don't usually play on my phone but I just download a game Caligo Chaser and its a very addictive game (rpg), but the graphics on the game looks very good on the Epic.
I would say keep the Epic, its a good phone, i will be keep her for a good 1 year and that's when my upgrade is due and I'll get a new one, just like I did with my tp2. The problems with the epic are so minimal compare to other phones, every phone that have release will always have problems, and that's how it always will be. I hope sammy won't take too long to fix it tho.
Sent from my SPH-D700 using XDA App
You won't notice the gaming difference until you load up toonwarz or another graphically intense game. I believe most 2D games will run the same on most phones with a relatively new processor... though it goes without saying that everything looks great on the SAMOLED screen
Thanks guys. I dont plan on doing any uploading or 4g tethering inside my home. just using the internet at work etc.
Also kinda sucks on the battery life. What are people getting roughly with battery life?
Im also coming from the hero to the epic becuase of the physical keyboard. I cannot stand the lag on hero's keyboard. Is there any lag etc with the physical keyboard?

I came from the Hero as well. Trust me, you'll be satisfied. I was running Darchstar's Cyanogen and whatever the nfiniteFX ROM was on my Hero and I THOUGHT I didn't notice any keyboard lag, but coming to the Epic, I realize I was completely wrong. There is no lag anywhere on this phone as far as I am concerned.
Just what I wanted to hear. haha One thing I did notice is that the hero lags up in general after a while IMO. Does the epic seem to do that so far?
I to came from a Hero, loved that little phone, the Epics screen is just. Insane to say the least. The camera quality to top notch, better than the Evos, I have done personal tests and have seen this. The battery life could be better but with updates those will help, its still a very new phone!
Well it's pretty much the best phone on the market right now. That said, there are issues. Make sure before you take your phone home that the capacitive buttons work. They either do or don't in most cases anyway.
I had 2 bad ones and an evo before switching to this on. Some people including myself have noticed image retention but i think thats a rare issue with the epic. Also the GPS is not good until the froyo update (hopefully). All that aside this is the best phone i have owned. Google Navigation works pretty well though and endomondo tracks very well as well.
I hope this helps.... Like I said i also had the Evo and once you see the Epic screen you wont like anything else. My new one is pretty solid and I 'm happy with it. I just want the flipping update already.

I'm getting about 14 hours with regular use. I could probably stretch that if I needed to. If I use it really heavily, including navigation, I might only get 8-10 hours.
In regular use that's long enough for me to go through a normal day, come home and just start charging it for the night once it gets really low.
But this is the first phone I've owned that I've actually bought a car charger for, just in case. If I see it getting low during the day, I will charge it on my way home from work.
This is not great, but my wife's iPhone is actually worse. She can't make it through a full day no matter what she does. Her phone is charging right now and it's 7:30PM; that's pretty normal for her. With me, it's not a regular thing to do that, it's only if I've been playing with it all day.
Also, like all phones the battery takes a few cycles to show an accurate charge. So when you first get the phone, it seems REALLY bad. I got like 5 hours on my first charge. But over time the gauge gets more accurate and you figure out little tricks to maximizing the battery (like dark wallpaper; bright pixels use a lot more power on an amoled screen), and it improves a lot.
Let's try this for a change, instead whining about features you wish we had, let's talk about things we like about our beloved x10's.
I love the design, the screen and the camera. I'm glad we don't have multitouch, yes its good for emulator and games, but I hate silly multitouch gestures. I enjoy being able to use my phone with one hand.
Please share you're positive experiences and features you like.
Oh and for the love of god, nobody use this thread to bash the x10 there is already too many treads about crap.

Good idea, lets keep this thread positive.
My favourite things about the X10 are:
1. The screen. It's bright, I can use it even in direct sunlight, it has a decent resolution with a "proper" aspect ratio of 16:9 and even with the "low" colour depth it works perfectly fine for watching videos, looking at photos I've taken and surfing the web.
2. The design. I have the black model and as far as I'm concerned it's the best looking phone out there. It has a nice B&O feel to it, it's pretty discrete and the minimal level of decoration isn't flashy or anything.
3. It feels solid. Compared to other phones I've owned or used for extended periods time I'd rank this in the top 5 when it comes to how it feels. The iPhone 3GS comes in at first place of course and in second place I'd put the HTC Diamond, it's built like a tank. After that it's a very close race between the X10 and the Blackstone but the X10 barely wins by not having any loose parts and proper buttons.
The X10 camera is the best i have ever used and i have taken more photos with this phone than any other
Best phone i ever had.
Best design arround, and as i see it only a new SE phone will take the crown.
Build quality: i read some were that it has the worst build quality, but we have a X10 ran over by a bus and still working, and one gone swimming for half an hour and still working. This has to mean something.
Screen is great.Big and bright.
Battery is also great. 2 days.
About the update it comes when it comes.
So all i can say that i am happy with my X10.

Wish the frame rate was quicker but same here. I find myself actually taking pictures with it! Can't say I really used the camera as much on any other phone I owned before this.
I have even taken a few with the X10 that have become amongst my favorite photos.
I agree with all the previous comments but I have to add one that will probably make some people gasp! lol
I actually like and use MediaScape. I like the (for lack of a proper term) "infinity functions" that link to Youtube videos and the ability to update or add album art directly on the phone. The ability to use all my existing playlists via MediaGo is also a great feature as I have a ZuneHD and now I can use the same playlists on both devices.
I am also very impressed with the battery life (since going back to the AT&T R2CA016 ROM). The original ROM was a little sluggish at times but since I rooted and removed the AT&T bloatware, the performance has been outstanding. Everything works smoothly and quickly. I also re-enabled the non-market apps by following the Captivate guide and adjusting it for the location of the settings.db on the X10.
I really prefer the physical keys over the soft buttons on most of the newer devices as well.
This phone does everything I need and most of what I want so I am extremely happy that I returned a Captivate and replaced it with the X10.
Best looking touch screen phone ever. If I have to take the form of non living creature, I want to be white X10s charger ;-)

I also like mediascape, and with the coming updates it will only get better. As lacking as uxp can be in some areas, timescape for example. Se have put forward some brilliant ideas, and pulled of a fantastic first effort for android.

This is by far the best looking phone i have ever owned, im a very happy with my X10. the lack of 2.1 is no reason to sell it, a month isnt that long to wait really.
Cracking camera imo
Fastest phone ive owned, not saying much since my last phone was a nokia 5800 Xpress music
all in all, happy with it, also i get satisfaction knowing im on a 2 year contract and the phone seems rather indestructible, run over by a bus and left in water for half an hour.
If a bluetooth fix came out i wouldnt give a monkeys to eclair, frozen yoghurt or spotted **** lol

As stated before, the design of this phone looks simply amazing, and the fact that it doesn't look like an iPhone (I'm looking at you Galaxy S) is a plus.
The touch response is great, and the screen itself looks wonderful, I always have the brightness jacked up fully just for this very reason.
One of the main reasons I bought this phone was simply for the fact that its specs more than doubled some aspects of my last phone (HTC Touch Diamond), and it shows. This phone is fast! I've never owned anything like this, having something so small that can run something that looks as good as Need For Speed: Shift is a great improvement over what I'm used to.
The build quality seems pretty solid, but I never really have any accidents with tech anyways.
And the camera, the camera is great! As said by someone else, I find myself taking more pictures with this than any other phone I've owned before.
Oh yeah, and the 3.5mm headphone jack is also great for me, I use it most of the time to stream internet radio in my car.
Also, once you dig your fingers into the framework and get rid of some of that monotonous blue, you can really have a nice looking ui on your hands (not that it looks HORRIBLE when it's stock)
That's it for now, I'm enjoying it!

How do u guys get need for speed to work? Ive downloaded the droidx 99mb rip from the droidx xda forum, but even after a clean flash it still says free up space on your device? Any tips?

I returned an HTC Aria in favor of the X10, and even though the delay of the 2.1 update is frustrating, I am very happy with my purchase. The X10 is much more solid-feeling phone, with better battery life. I also think Sony Ericsson has a much better solution for managing media than HTC. Superior sound quality and a better camera than either my Aria or my iPhone as well.

Well i have no experience with android and after many years of being a palm freak i switched to iphone 2 years ago. It has done the job well and it was only when an offer came up in our newspaper that i decided to order the X10 for my daughters birthday on contract. My work has just upped my handset to the iphone 4 and after playing with the x10 for 2 days now and hearing an update is coming too then i am seriously considering giving my daughter the iphone 4 and keeping the x10 . It is like having an updated palm back . The screen is Brill , market store is tops and the customisation it offers hours of fun .... widgets are cool ... camera is best ive used
Im One happy X10 user

lol cant really say much everyones already stated everything i love.
how do you manage to keep ur battery running two days :O plenty of people have said that but no one tellin me how. i just about manage to run it for half a day lol but other than that and the in call volume and updates i love the phone, best phone ive ever owned
Well, for me, what I like about it is because it's an Android, which is a competitor of the uPhone, and has more growing potentials than a Windows or Symbian phone.
Wanted to try out Nexus One, but as a multimedia fanatic, I read reviews that the music players are not really that satisfactory. So Rachael was an ideal choice since Sony has the upper hand when it comes to walkman-related stuff.
As for HTC, it's only natural to wanna try one, since there are alot of satisfied users out there, but the phones' designs were not as nice as Rachael's. (They even added a 'chin' to the Desire, which wasn't present on Nexus One)
So, yeah... Basically I only go for the beauty and the multimedia functions. OS versions are not really a big deal for me. True, I went gaga over the sight of Live Wallpapers, but then I can live without it. =D
The thing I like about Mediascape it the way the images were animated when they appear and disappear.

Hmm I guess there's no really a 'true way' about this, but I guess sucky battery life happens to new phones...
We all have experienced gradual stability of power drainage as time goes by. It's either the phone has grown accustomed to the battery, or vice versa, or that we have slowly become aware of how to avoid it?
Mine used to have it's power drop to 50% or more within 5 hours, without using it, and now it just drops like what? 3-10% by end day?
Give your phone some time. It will get better =)
I like it because its SE Design, only compnay which knows hardware design. I like it since its white color phone and because its running Android.
OK, lets try and make it clear!
Please, ALL DHD owners, vote in order to see the real size of the problem!

There, fixed it for ya
I voted Yes btw... mine has it too.
My phone's camera is fine.
Thanx!
But, considering the fact that DHD owners that join XDA do it for unbranding, upgrading, rooting, etc, and do not come here ONLY for the camera problem, I believe that, if all of them vote (even those that do not have the problem), we will get a good percentage sample.
It is something like the exit-poles while voting . Use a small sample from the crowd. It usually gives good results, close to reality.

Haha, I know... I was only joking!
I think it's a good idea too. Maybe once enough people have voted we can send the results to HTC repair center
Yeah, the results could be a good "attachment" with the DHD for service
Mine is fine. No problems here.
Yes mine does,
Mine is currently with HTC at the moment, in for it's second repair in 4 weeks. The first repair was for the original blur on the left but when I got the phone back from them last Friday, the blur was still present and after a few hours of use - the camera started producing really fuzzy and bad photos and so I rang HTC up over the weekend and they re-booked the phone in for another repair. Weather the blur problem and this new fuzzy photo problem are related I don't know.
Liam
Camera works fine here.
Works fine for me. Using leeroid.

everythings pretty fine since day 1
@ stock btw.

Well my point of view is that a lot of people are completly unable to make the difference between blurred and non blurred photos. Believe me, a lot of people don't care about that because that doesnt look like a problem for them. It's like sounds and colors, humans don't react the same way.
That reminds me, just look in the thread I started, the two first pictures on the beach, the blur thing is higly noticeable on the left. But some people came and said they couldn't see anything wrong. That's the way humans work. We're all different.
Also, this problem doesn't occur in low light condition, because low light condition make noisy pictures, and the blur is nearly impossible to determine in that case. Even outside in good light condition, if you shoot a close subject, the blur thing may not apear. It really shows in good light condition when you shoot things like landscapes, buildings or trees.
Many people will come here and vote "no problem" because they just don't simply have the apropriate pictures. If they vote after indoor pictures, it will not help and the vote doesn't mean anything.
Mine is faulty, and two friends of mine got faulty devices too. There were quite a good bunch of report about this issue on the forum. We can't say for sure that a lot of DHD are concerned, but well, who can seriously say the contrary ?? (except the die hard HTC fans ... hehe I know there are some here and there ..)
Anyway, I think there's enough to say that there is a little quality control problem at HTC

So... which group is right?
Luthor_70 is right. For instance, I rarely use the phone camera, and it took me 8-9 days after purchase, and motive from XDA-DEVS to test the camera and spot the problem (make the test with outdoor pic and good light cond.).
Junta_mpb, my friend, the point is not which DHD user doesnt care about the problem and who does. The point is that we have spent a good amount of money, and we need a 100% working product. It is the customers right to have in his hands exactly what he paid for.
IMHO, no one should neglect defects like these.

My point is to address the insinuation that a participating group is providing false information. Saying that if one phone has a camera problem and concluding that those who say otherwise just don’t care to notice or lying because of a blind love affair with HTC is not logic I would subscribe to. I could be wrong with jumping to that conclusion, but thats why I posted my question.
I agree that we paid good money for something that we would like to be perfect. I am not contesting that. There are phones with defects. The topic, however, is about the camera and I think this should be isolated.
I checked my images again, indoor, outdoor, with trees and one with a 5-legged cow. They are fine and I dont think its because I'm just inclined to say so.
Junta, you have a point here, but, as in all votes and researches, the factor of "error" always exists. You cannot be absolute about anything in this life. I am just trying to track down an approximation of the problem, and nothing else.
What I was trying to say is that, if you purchase a phone for, lets say, 200 euro, you cannot expect the quality of a phone that costs 600 euro (like DHD). Yes, the possibility of faulty devices is always there (only God can make something perfect). But, according to this vote (up to now), approximately 1 out of 3 has it. I personally know 2 more people (friends) with the same problem. Only my father's DHD is OK
And it could still be OK, although the size of the problem, IF HTC accepted that! They keep neglecting us, and fooling around with us. My phone is 10 days at service now, and when I called them they said that they still have no further info about the problem. For crying out loud, HTC has my phone more days in their hands than me! And according to previous experience, maybe a second visit will be required! This is the insane part.
Oh! I almost forgot! Please send me the picture with the 5 legged cow!

(Sorry for my bad English).
Personally, I had 3 HD Desire HD and 2 had the perfect camera, but the strange thing is that the cameras are not only bad ones sold with the first phones, but also the latest build are defective, so it's a matter of luck in my opinion...
However, I propose to upload a photo of all those who vote, so we really understand the situation...
I start:
