Nexus One's Phone app on HTC legend. Any luck? - Legend General

I've used Nexus One Phone app that include on custom ROM that I installed instead of HTC phone app and it works totally better. since there was too much bugs on that ROM so I gave it up and now I'm using Modaco's kitchen rom. But I wonder is there any way to Install that Nexus one phone app like an APK file or something. any luck for this? thank you.

Current ROM to Custom Rom from a Stock Rom?

Can any one suggest a Custom Rom to upgrade from a T-Mobile Stock Rom for a myTouch 3G 1.2 32A?
Some thing plain simple ROM with no bogged down extra apps.
froyo will be nice, but dont know if Flash going to work and Camera and GPS working @ 100%. (i like to geotag my photos)
Something Stable and Fast.
Moving from ATT Tilt with Android NAND flash to this myTouch 3G.
thnx in advance!
Can't go wrong with CyanogenMod 5.0.8-DS.

Why not go all the way to CyanogenMod 6.0.0 DS?
It is very stable and fast plus all the benefits of FroYo
Very stable is not the word I would use. Every release of CM 6 I've tried has ran crappy.

Thnx for the reply. Finally got CM6 running with out glitch so far on my myTouch 3G 1.2. With clockwork.
Only thing I misses is Swype keyboard. How do I get this install? Me don't see it in Market.
Sent from my HTC Magic using XDA App
You wont be able to reinstall swype, legally anyways. For swype to be included in a ROM the ROM dev would have to pay the guys that created it and there's no fun in that. I'm not sure why they don't offer it in the market though.

I found SlideIt. a friend of mine bought extras. Works great. all i can think of odd is, how to type "too" and alike.

[Q] HTC sense issues!

Anyone else having problem's waking up the screen when receiving phone calls? Or default ringtones continuously ringing without pausing? I love the rom,but this can be quite frustrating. On the other hand, cyanogenmod has been flawless for me.
I don't know exactly which ROM you're running, but I have the DZ running the stock Sense ROM, and I don't have those issues.
Sorry,yeah I 4 got 2 mention It's the virtuous Rom.

Sorry to hear that, I'm runnung the same ROM, no complaints so far, if in doubt you could always do a fresh install
Try using the pershoot kernel thats what i did and now the problem is gone =)
Sent from my HTC Vision using XDA App
Others using the same rom have experienced the same thing. Some believe its because of set CPU setting for screen off or the kernal. Check out the roms thread and search it. You'll find some tips that have helped others contain the problem.

All is well.
I actually ended up flashing the pershoot kernel and it worked like a charm. No problems since(sense). Thx 2 every 1 for their suggestion's.

Interesting you say that, I find Sense's dialer much quicker to use. Being able to dial up a contact by name rather than use the phone book is very nice.
Personally, Liberated is my choice, particularly now that it has the OC kernel on it. It's very fast and I get to keep Sense, which (if you ask me) HTC did incredibly well for Android.
Liberated all the way

I like Cyanogenmod and Liberated Froyo, I keep a backup of both on my SD card at all times
Sent from my HTC Liberty using XDA App
Cyanogenmod by far. Its customizabilty and features make it superior in my opinion. And anything you might miss about sense can pretty much be found in an app.
Sent from my cm6.1 Aria using XDA App
I would LOVE TO USE Cyanogenmod
The one thing that makes it unusable for me is their Exchange Email implementation.
No touch copy-n-paste
No embedded graphics
No Pinch Zoom
I dont want to have to buy Touchdown for $30 when the HTC Sense email works great.
Anyone else have this issue?

Blandroid on N1

I just noticed, blandroid rom on the rom manager menu, has anyone tried it on N1? I'm using cm7 Rc4 and I know you'll all say stick with it, but I'm still curious.
Sent from my Nexus One using XDA Premium App
I noticed it a couple of weeks ago. It says it's a stable 2.3.3 with no bloatware. Sounds very intriguing...in fact so much so that I downloaded it, but have yet to flash it...lol.
Certainly tempting isn't it, is this a case of who goes first lmao, out of interest how big is it? I notice the cm7s are just over 80 mb.

Seems like a plain stock ROM, nice to see to be honest.
Noticed the same thing, but was wondering what all it supports, site doesn't say much. I.E. what kernel it has/supports, TB alert stuff like that.
Hopefully the dev comes and explains what all he's done.
Well, I flashed it, for like an hour then when back to cm7 using the recovery I made.
First thing, market didn't work.
Secondly it didn't have the extra apps cm7 has, which I expected, but I instantly missed theme chooser.
Thirdly it wiped my contacts list.

First. The market issue is probably a wipe issue as I had the same problem with two different MIUI GB ROMs.
Secondly. That would be the lack of bloatware mentioned above. It's like stock android, so not sure why you even flashed it if you wanted bloatware.
Thirdly. It didn't wipe your contact list you didn't sync with google, becaue all of your contacts are backed up there.
You know what, I knew that'd be the replies I got, to be honest I'm curious of any rom that 1might increase battery life, currently using 85% over 10hours!! And of course the dreaded wonk which is seemingly inherent with cm7.
I couldn't force Google to sync with my phone, all my contacts are stored with Google you're right there.
Btw how would I get the market back?

I think it is another keyboard app. When you go to change the keyboard, it lists something in all Asian symbols.
I just deleted it and I have not noticed any difference with how blandroid runs.
The wonk was almost fixed on latest release of cm7. If you don't have the latest version, try it.
Sent from my Nexus One using XDA Premium App
Nearly fixed isn't fixed. The problem is really dragging out and these stock ROMs are showing that its fixed with them. Wonking isn't the only issue at the moment either. There is still problems with the sound levels after docking the phone sometimes where its maximum level is halved etc.
CM is an ace project and I truly respect the guys and their efforts behind it, but CM7 is very buggy, and when it starts to affect the ability to take calls its hard to use it.
Oh! Thx for the reply. I got scared and ran back to cm7

What sort of battery life do you get and is there good support from the Dev?
I could go for no wonk
Sent from my Nexus One using XDA Premium App
I like!
Went for this until the CM stable kills the wonk; now I may not go back. I haven't used it for long enough to know about stability. I think of it as pure AOSP, but already rooted (and a just a few essential CM goodies).
http://blandroid.org/about
So far, I haven't found anything missing I need.
And if you want a bit more eye candy and customization, just install launcher pro or adw.launcher from the market.
I give it thumbs-up!

Perfect sense 2.2?

Before you tell me to use the search button i've been looking and trying out every sense rom there is and with every one of them there is something that's wrong. Now my real question is if any one could suggest a perfect sense rom. When I say perfect I mean good battery life and not laggy when switching through home screens.
I would be really grateful if someone did.
Thanks anyways!

Ok, I won't tell you to search.... but as this is a question..... I can tell you to post in Q & A next time.... and in my opinion, there is no perfect sense rom and never will be.... it can't be compiled just for our devices as their is no source code.... so it can never be perfect for our devices..... and another opinion of mine... sense sucks.... if you want sense so bad, but want a good working rom... do it this way.... install hyperdroid cm7..... install he launcher and choose the sense look in it.... then install fancy widget and choose the sense like clock theme.... then their, you have a perfectly working build that looks like sense......
Coredroid 1.6

Have you tried HE launcher off the market? That combined with the fancy widget that's modified to look like the sense clock really looks a lot like sense.
Not a big fan of Sense myself, but I agree its Coredroid..the last version I tried was v1.5 it was really good, free of most issues and incidentally my last sense build...After that its CM7 all the way, with some time for MIUI in between which is also quite impressive but when it comes to raw speed nothing beats cm7/aosp builds...
I recommend imilka's Desire HD.
The only disadvantage is slow booting.

Hi,
Without repeating what diesburg has said, I am using since two month boyppc rom. The actual version on my hd2 is GB sense 2.3.4 v25. For information it is not htc sense but a look like called launcher pro (LP). It is enough similar to make my day and the batterie last for about 2 days, good speed and bug free.
The other thing that I like is the easy installation
I can honestly recommend any rom based on Sense 3.0. Practically no problems, no FC, no reboots, and I have not noticed any graphical bugs. 300MB free ram after boots and Everything works like a charm. I almost forgot to add that cam records in 720p
But for me the fastest and best performing Froyo Sense ROM is IMilka's Inc. with tytung_r10 kernel for Qaliza_DHD, i tried this Rom on CLK and is the fastest for me and i think that if you looking perfect sense rom you should try this combination.
If you decide to go down the route of installing a fancy widget clock, try to find version 1.3.0 as its the most sense-like clock. if I find a link for it i'll pop it in here.
EDIT: http://www.filesonic.com/file/12961909/Fancy_Widget_1.3.0.apk
Wait camera records in 720p!? Just like in windows phone 7. OK try it out.

I actually ended up udi. Get launched pro with fancy widget and using theme manager with complete sense theme. I also got the sense dock and the sense wallpaper.
Do. Thanks for all the suggestions and help!!!

The thing about CLK is that its too complicated to install, I've tried once but failed.. I installed the rom in CWM and rebooted and it comes back to the white text and black background.....
i have tried alot of sense build...
i think rafdroid is great...
this build have more option to customize n stable support all app's that i used when that apps can't run on another sense build..
Takes a bit of learning but once you get past that you don't go back.
