Hi people,
So, ive had this phone for a week or so now - and hell is there a lot to play around with!
Ive installed some very basic apps to it, and have installed co0kie
For some reason however, my clcok decided to put itself in seattle.
Ive managed to change the location settings, but when it comes to the actual time and date the option for changing the city is unavailable.
Any ideas?
Tar muchly
Not sure what you mean. You should be able to just touch the clock, select "my location" and set the correct time. The phone should then detect your location and you'll be sorted.
Hope that helps.

Hey guys
After you guys helped me with my last problem, I decided I'd push the envelope a little and see if you could help me some more. Once again, you'll have to explain in the simplest terms possible.
I've been having trouble using the My Location feature of the HD2's weather application. It is able to download weather information for any specified city not not the 'my location.' If its relevant, I'm in the UK.
I thought that if i ditched the t-mobile supplied ROM in favour of the generic one it would help, but it hasn't (although, now I have more options to choose from).
Does anyone have any information that would help me?
thanks and best wishes
conrad
settings menu all settings system location services enable. check that first job.
thanks for the speedy reply. I checked that this was set and I found it was.
location is on. whats my next job?
hmm. OK, also in the location settings screen, ensure 'automatically decline...' is NOT ticked.
also
settings - data services - weather (could also use weather tab - menu - settings)
tick download automatically (just for testing purposes) if it isn't ticked.
also, on the weather tab (im sure you will already have done this) in the menu menu make sure it doesn't still say 'activate my location' or similar.
also check that your actual location is set to 'my location', and not one of the other cities that is pre loaded.
does it work when you are in other areas? some people seem to live in places where the local mast isn't part of the cell location database.
thats all the basic checks, after that i cant help i;m afraid.
thanks for the help. it looks like its to do with the location. it seems to work in crappy little villages but not in cities. I'll try in manchester tomorrow.

its true that sometimes when im in villages my location is very infrequently updated, so it could well be the cause of your problem
hallo everyone, i have already searched, but no joy, am looking, for a cab, that i have only, since seen in NRG,s roms, its found under connections, and its called dataconfig, which helps, to automatically configure, data settings, and i find it very useful, particularly, because, i am on 02, uk, and they have different settings, for contarct and pay as you go settings, which means, i have to manually enter the settings, on other roms, but with that setting, it automatically does it so -please, any link, or advice on how i can get it.
yeah, it's really odd that it cannot seem to be found anywhere except in the Energy ROMS. I have the settings for my data connection, but apparently i'm not entering them correctly. I need this app as well and a link would really be helpful

Hi guys,
Been searching around but can't find answers, please if you know this question has been asked, just point me in the right direction.
I have a Vodafone Magic (yeah, yeah, I know, stupid right? Fancy wanting an android phone that the supplier will never upgrade past 1.6) But I didn't have that knowledge at the time. While I'm not happy with the phone generally, I have a more specific question.
I have always been happy enough using the stock broswer, although I have tried others too. But Just yesterday a problem turned up, that even using alternate browsers does not help with. When I go onto google site, and into preferences (settings) for google, which goes basically to the same page regardless of browser, I have always been able to save my prefernces, Ie safe search (other than moderate), save location, save searches etc. But yesterday, and since, every time I change a setting, save and then go back into settings, nothing I changed has altered.
Basically rambling, but say I change safe search to strict, press save, goes back to google page, go back into settings, and sure enough safe search is back to moderate.
This used to happen only when I cleared cache.
What the hell have I done to the phone to cause this, it's really quite irritating.
I have turned phone off and back on. I haven't done a factory reset yet, as hoping there is a solution that doesn't invole reinstalling all apps etc. I haven't done a soft reset, because I don't know if one exists.
Thanks in advance,
Steve
"have a Vodafone Magic is stupid right?" I don't think so haha
Hey everyone, I just got my DVP in the mail today, first time wp7 user. I've been trying to find some apps for it that may be useful and haven't had any luck.
First I've thought about some sort of tile that lets me control the wifi. If you move around a lot like I do, you don't want to have to enter settings and turn on the wifi then look for a network, select, then go back you what you were doing. Or if you just want to save batteries and only turn it on when you need it, then turn it off again.
Has anyone seen anything like this yet?
Thanks

Unfortunately there is not a "wifi switch" app. And our phone is not supported by developers so we do not have any homebrew made for our phone...........yet. I still hold out hope
A live-tile to toggle WiFi activity is a great and very useful idea, as I am also constantly changing it. It's not exactly an issue specific to the Dell Venue Pro, you might have much better luck asking in the main WP7 development section, someone just might take you up on your idea there.
in the meantime just pin the settings tile to the start screen for fast access
Hello,
So I've been using Google now for about a month now, and in that time I thought the service should have learn my patterns etc...
However, it hasn't, I have all the privacy intruding options on, e.g. GPS location services etc, and I have my home and work set up correctly, though I haven't had any cards on when I should leave for work, in-fact I haven't had any cards apart from weather at-all. They're all enabled, but it just doesn't show anything?
I've set my home and work locations, and according to Google latitude's history it logged me in at work (when I get there) and at home as-well.
I've looked up some "set-up" tutorials on Google now, and I've done it all apart from this screen:
http://puu.sh/2dPgs
I dont seem to have that screen at all, I have the option but when I go to the option I get this:
(sorry for the blur, I'm very privacy conscious) http://puu.sh/2dPqi
Any ideas?
Thanks.
Could be related, but Google Now seems to be down for me (noticed it was down around 6p and its 9p my time). All I get is local events and my next appointment. Up till this afternoon it has always worked for me (been using jb since it released).
EDIT: It seems that gNow is partially down at the moment others are reporting issues as well http://forums.androidcentral.com/an...301-weather-card-google-now-went-missing.html
