Hi guys, dont know if I have asked this question in the right place, but here goes. I have had my magic 32b on Vodafone for 8 months, and for the last 6 I have been using Fatal1ty's hero/rosie rom with mainly satisfaction, after disabling the touch-flo home screen nonsense. There were a few issues that niggled me so I tried to hunt down a newer version. Somehow, after upgrading successfully to CM5 and liking the look, I backed up via nandroid and flashed a new rom. I am now stuck with a T-Mobile mt3g rom which wont let me get passed the google sign up screen, and my data package is not in service until monday.
here is what my details look like as of now......

I have read so many posts now that im not sure where to start. I would like to know if there is a SAPPimg available to overcome this problem, i cannot access phone via adb or fastboot as i have no custom recovery installed anymore and no access via fastboot as remote is not allowed!
My hair is turning ever greyer, any help would be amazing.
(already tried the goldcard routine with no avail, but maybe i did it wrong.)
Peace

Can this machine be rooted now and without changing to another version of rom? Many Thanks.
ive rooted, but unfortualty, I couldnt figure out how to keep the same rom (not that I wanted too) but I wanted to make a nandroid back up. but I went right through...and I am not sure is flashing the sappimg.zip changes the rom (kinda new to all this), I know thats what changes the SPL and gives you the vodaphone splash. So maybe if you took and nandroid back up after you flashed the sappimg.zip and before you applied the update.zip, you might be able to get it...
(if does work, mind posting up the rom) I would like it for future use...
Start reading up on the procedure here: http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HTC_Sapphire_Hacking
Im no noob to rooting flashing or hacking G1s (so im familiar with the process and know adb pretty well). MyTouch3g (32B) is new though and already bricked one doing this process previously.
Currently on my second one and want to get this right.
SPL was: 1.33.2006
Successfully downgraded to
1.33.2005
I can confirm I have root with the google Ion rom I am running.
My issue now is when I try to flash a new rom.
When I flash an update.zip it seems to install ok, but just sits on the my touch splash.
this is unless its an official rom, currently running Rom-RAv1.1.0H-signed-update.zip.
Can someone let me know if im missing something.
Had the same issue with the last one I bricked, trying to avoid a repeat.
Thanks
Fastboot Info
Figured I should post my fastboot info
By the way this was downgraded and rooted using the goldcard method.

If you have a Mytouch 3G 1.2 then you've got the wrong spl and radio. Should be
Sapphire pvt 32a ship s-on g
hboot-1.33.0013 (sapp31000)
cpld-13
radio-2.22.23.02
Go back to unlockr and find the directions for rooting the mytouch 1.2/LE. You'll need to make a gold card. Hopefully that'll be able to get you running again. If not you'll need more experienced help than I can offer.
ya i tried that it boots the system part first and then freezes and unzipping
Did you try re-downloading the file from the site? It may have been corrupted during download.
yes i have
Did you get this working tweakistry?
no i have not, going to run to tmobile store today and tell them they shipped me a candaian phone and not a tmobile phone =p
ok so went to the tmobile store, they sayed theyve never seen a rogers phone they did an imei check and proved it was their phone and told me to pay for shipping it back and they will reimburse me and send me new phone

They are pretty stupid hahaha
I made the same mistake hopefully I can get T-mobile to send me a new one too. lol if any one has any other ideas i would appropriate it.
Same thing happened to me, and I got it to work...
It was hanging on zip, so I had to redo rooting from the beginning (pushing files with adb)
But, adb didn't seem to detect the phone, what happened is that it started to want to use an old driver (I forgot which version, but if you connect to windows it should pop up and say it can't find it)...
If adb does work, try the root from the beginning, and keep on pushing despite it hanging on zip...
was a while ago, so can't really remember what happened exactly
You have to go back into adb and flash the right radio and spl again. It did the same thing to me when I rooted.
Hi,
I have rooted my HTC Android Donut 1.6 with Goldcard method yesterday, because simpler method wasn't working for me (It was a lot of work and lots of info to consume for first timer, wheew...). So I was back to Cupcake 1.5. Today I updated my recovery ROM to recovery-RA-sapphire-v1.7.0G, because old recovery ROM wasn't loading (Home+Power got stuck at Vodafone screen).
After that I downloaded TMUS-32B-Froyo-CM6Remix from the forum and tried to flash it through recovery mode, everything went fine, but after rebooting device wouldn't go past Vodafone screen. I tried wiping out and reflashing, tried few other ROMs, but nothing helps, same problem. I spent 4 hours trying to figure out WTF and frustration is kicking in... Please, could somebody help me out?
FastBoot screen says:

You flashed wrong recovery, you must flash H recovery see at the end of your file/device
Sent from my HTC Magic using XDA application
I just tried to change ROM to recovery-RA-sapphire-v1.7.0H. After that I reflashed ROM TMUS-32B-Froyo-CM6Remix. Still doesn't boot. Any other ideas?
What were your first specs?
I really don't know. I never bothered to write them down, because I didn't expect to get to this point following tutorials, that everyone uses.
Make sure your flashing a 32b rom and did you wipe everything first
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
I only tried to install 32B ROMs and always wiped out data before flashing. I even tried wiping out through fastboot and cmd.exe with command "fastboot wipe system -w".
So many views in this thread and no helpful answers. So, no one knows how to fix this? I would really be satisfied if I could at least revert it back to original OS and wouldn't touch it anymore. It's driving me crazy...
It took me whole efing day, but I finally solved the problem... I was searching google for this "SAPPHIRE UNKNOWN 32B ENG S-OFF H" and found some german forum. Some guy had similar problem, and had a solution for it. Now I'm back on Cupcake 1.5. Most important thing is that, I'm able to boot device.
So, could anyone suggest what steps should I take to not get in same position? What rooting path (tutorial) should I take and what precautions?
Now I'm on:

Just really need help cause I have to return this phone to my friend Monday. I know I know...shouldnt have played around with it if you werent sure what you were doing lol Any and all help would be overly appreciated. Thanks guys.

You have S-Off so just lookup on how to use fastboot commands to flash the needed radio, recovery and spl.
I really hope that this isn't a US T-Mobile device.

First combo, we could have helped you out...
But the second combo... ooohhh... bad one...
Perfected spl and wrong radio/spl combo... NOT GOOD!
Try to flash the sappimg.zip that gave you the first spl version (1.33.2010).
If you get that back, then we can work out the rest pretty easy!

Are you trying to intentionally brick your friends phone?
[RANT]
I'm guessing that you didn't do much reading before actually messing with his phone did you?
MyTouch 1.2 (aka Fender, aka LE) w/3.5mm headphone jack
Ultimate Guide: How to root myTouch 1.2/LE Fender (3.5mm jack)
Look, I'm not trying to give anyone a hard time but this is exactly what I was talking about a few days ago.
There is so much confusion over this device! It's not hard! Anyone that thinks that is is should have been around when the device first came out! DAMN THAT WAS ROUGH! But it was a learning experience. And through that learning experience we made apps (Androot) and guides and stickies JUST FOR THIS! Yet... how does this keep happening??? Someone explain it to me... please. I'm desperate to know.
[/RANT]
With that said... you are going to have to use a goldcard now that you have S-ON, still not rooted, no custom recovery, etc. You won't be able to boot the phone up because you are DEFINITLY using the wrong radio. You'll be lucky if you didn't completely brick it already.
Use the links above to create a goldcard. I'll warn you that this can be a pain in the butt ( not to mention that some sdcards are notorious for not working at all for this method!) because it requires getting ANOTHER android phone, putting the sdcard in to get the serial number of the sdcard (unless someone knows another way to get it), entering the code into a website to get the goldcard image e-mailed to you then using a hex editor to copy the bootsectors of that goldcard image enter the code into the hardware of the sdcard via card reader so you can use the freshly made goldcard, then all that's left is dowloading the right sappimg.zip file, placing it on the root of the sdcard and booting into the bootloader. You would flash the goldcard image At that point you will be have the Engineering (S-OFF) SPL again and the CORRECT radio. Once that is done you only need to fastboot flash recovery recovery.img (G type, not H)
Then flash the stock SPL back.
Then you will be free to flash a 32B type rom through recovery.
After you have done ALL OF THAT! Your friend might spare your life.
Here... try something like this. Maybe you can find someone to help.
