resizing the screen of a game? - Hero CDMA General

When I play a gameloft game, Let's Golf, Gangster, Modern Combat, etc. It looks as if I only see 1/4 of the screen. but I'm definitely missing a big chuck of it. Is there anyone that can go through the files and resize it? Or can anyone tell me how to do it? The picture is very clear and the sound it perfect but it just needs to be resized. I don't think it was meant for the Hero but with our over clocked phones it works great.

Mahjong

Anyone find a Mahjong game that displays well on the Touch Pro 2?
That depends on which Mahjongg game you have in mind.
The real Chinese Mahjongg is a game played usually by 4 people and usually for $$
If you want to play "Mahjongg" where you match 2 tiles to remove them from a pyramid, try: http://www.smartmahjongg.com/. It's free for personal use.
Thanks. I wanted to play the 2nd of the two. I played the game first on a touch screen monitor 20 years ago and thought with the better screen of the TP2 I might be able to play on it. I downloaded the game and it is sharp detailed I just do not know if my older eyes can see the tiles.
Thanks again.
You wouldn't like playing it on QVGA - it's even worse on our eyes

New Gameloft Games like NOVA, HAWX and etc

How come these games dont fit the screen, is there any way to make them work on my G1?
Hi
Sorry to bum you out but those games are for high res and high gpu phones........Our phones are low res and do not have that great of a gpu............That would be cool if they did though
I think they're designed for larger
Screens like the Droid or nexus one...
Assassins creed "iphone port" didn't fit the screen of my HTC hero....but works flawlessly on my HTC desire that's from gameloft also

Same problems with HTC Hero. Its not like the screen resolution is that much smaller. Its too bad there isn't an option to adjust screen resolution to play the game or even install a driver that would allow for HD games to be played.
The real issue is the aspect ratio. They're created for WVGA and FWVGA screens which are wider than the HVGA screens in our devices. If the screens were the same 'shape' just lower resolution they would look fine.
but still the games won't run well you WILL experience lag and stuttering since the games are designed for a higher end device, not much we could do there, but there are still games just newly released that works well with what we have. Good luck

Color Problem PLEASE HELP

when i try to play any car racing game like asphalt and need for speed
i get no color on the screen all white and barely see anything on the screen?
anyone know how to fix this?
Do you have the same problem when you use other 3D applications? If yes, you might try a hard-reset on the phone, and if that doesn't work, you should probably exchange your device.
If you are getting the white screen's it is usually because they are optimized for the snapdragon processors.
If you look you will see some games optimized for the hummingbird in some places.

the game ashpalt 5 comes built in with the samsung epic so i guess its made to work with the epic but its now. all the other games work fine.
i tried hard reseting and installing different rom but still don't work.
any other ideas?
If you've done a hard-reset and are still getting the problem, you unfortunately may have a hardware issue, especially if the problem is present with the pre-installed copy of Asphalt 5. Might try an exchange, should fix it right up either way.

Like nadcicle said, did you purchase these games? They work perfect on the Epic, if your getting it from another source or your pulling it off your evo it won't work on the Epic. YOu won't get any errors if you purchased the game.

Help me choose a watch and a quick favor!

How are you guys doing?
I have been looking for watches lately, and I decided I want to get one but not sure where to start since there are a billion watches out there.
My price range is approx 100-170 dollars.
I figured i'd ask you guys which watches would be best.
The main reason why I am wanting a watch is because they banned watches from my work, and I am addicted to a game called "brave frontier" so it would be awesome to play that game on it.
I need the watch to:
Work with sim card
Play brave frontier
Best battery life
Please post up which watch you think I should get and WHY.
And, my favor, can someone please take a picture of what the game "brave frontier" looks like on one of these watches? I want to know if its playable or not being that the screen is tiny.

Huh? Never heard of a company banning playing games while "WORKING". Just ludicrous...?...lol
Now to answer your question...I have tested every name brand SW and quite a few Chinese "no names". Games are near impossible to play on this screen size. And due to the lack of a quality GPU, many games won't even boot or run.
Example: I tried an early APK of the original angry birds on the Omate TS Xtreme and was not impressed at all.
I took a look at Brave Frontier... Looks like a game that not only is going to need high-end specs, but also a decent screen size. In the developer's FAQ'S, this game was designed for the newer, modern devices with a minimum of 1GB of RAM and noted that even the LG G2 has issues with smooth game play and excessive heat.
I was going to mention the Neptune Pine as a possibility with its 2.5" screen, but they have yet to confirm a 1GB RAM model. However, your budget is not going to get one of these on your wrist. The good news, for you, is the Pine has now been delayed to an October release... Maybe you can put away a few more Benji's by then.
Other than that, spec wise, the AI Watch has hardware that rivels most decent phones, but sports only a 240x240, 1.5" display. In addition, I would imagine that you would have to do a Xposed mod on the game to work within those dpi limitations...if you got it to run, that is.
Sorry I can't give you better news... But it won't be long before something will pop up. Keep your eye on the Pine. Good luck.

Uhhh.... you pretty much answered all my questions literally perfectly....
Thank you for everything I appreciate it all.
you are saying that these watches can't really play anything that complex, but on the zgpax hes playing emulators and what not.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2575556
And there are other youtube vids of people playing pretty 3d games. I wonder if it would work on that watch...
I am still curious if someone on here could just try the game out to see what it was like.... just for fun y'know? (ASWELL, in the game, you can turn down the quality and all the graphics to just have a bare bones game)
Being able to play games (Dreamcast running on mine) and being able to play them well are two different things. If the game uses device buttons, gameplay will be near impossible. If the game uses onscreen controls, gameplay suffers significantly. Angry birds, which has pretty much minimal onscreen controls, is still pretty much useless on the tiny smartwatch screen. Any game with more than one or two buttons ends up having the screen covered with your fingers. Even Angry Birds you spend most of the time with the screen covered by your fingers.
You want an easy example of how the gameplay will be for any game. Find a screenshot of the game and print it out the size of the watch's screen and put your fingers on the onscreen buttons.

makes sense, the game in question (brave frontier) does not have any buttons, but an auto play button which i would be using. which is why i am curious how it runs and looks.

Lags in games?

I've read people that say that G6 lags in games big time. Is it so? Is it not buy if I would want to have some fun in-between moments?

Did those said people say which games? Because I've been using my LG G6 for games too and haven't seen any lag what so ever. And I've played alot of graphic intensive games too as well as casual stuff

Sorry never played those. But sports games like NBA 2k17, Fifa and Real Racing 3, which are all very graphic intensive plays with no lag

Nope. No lag here either and i play some pretty intensive games.
Considering the games you listed are all just simple 2D games it should run them easy and battery is gonna last a long time.
No lag on: DB Dokkan Battle, Fire Emblem: Heroes, Summoner Wars, Pokémon Go and Tap Titans 2

What if those games just can't see 18:9 and are hardcoded to run in 1280x720? And when stretched they stutter somehow?
another example is RR3 which throttles to 18fps often which is way too low for such powerful 821

Well, you basically choose in which aspect ratio you wanna play games that don't support 18:9.
You can choose the usual default format 16:9 (with black left and right borders), optimized format 16.7:9 (with small left and right black borders) or 18:9 (fullscreen). It basically crops the games window to your liking. Really easy to set up and works like a charm.
Most games don't support 18:9 yet, only some new ones do, but i play pretty much all of them in 18:9 np. Performance is the same in either of those ratios, i'm pretty sure, as it only crops the image.
If a game is hard-coded to lower resolution then i'm pretty sure it plays at that resolution and doesn't up-sample. I've played a cpl of games hard-coded to 1080p and they actually still looked great despite running on a 1440p screen. You can still choose aspect ratio tho.
I've had no issues. So far I've played Pokeymanz Go, Magikrap Jump, Devil Twins, Sailor Drops, TriggerKnight, Dungeon Vilage, Game Dev Story, Ninja Village, Plague Inc, Infectonator, Tales of Link with no issues. The only time I've managed to make this thing stutter is when streaming music over BT and the phone switches back and forth between wifi and mobile data a couple times (this happens on my way home in the afternoon. It picks up my 802.11ac, then I whip around a corner and it drops it, whip back and it picks it back up).
I've played King's Raid on lg g6 and its lag pretty bad, i did change resolution , battery saver and graphic quality but still lag big time.
Can any of u guys give it a try?
But other similar games run very smooth which is strange.
Thx

That's probably not weird considering it won't even install for me through Google Play. It's says it's not compatible with my phone.
Doesn't look like a demanding game so it's probably just not optimized.
They claim that in Mushroom Wars Space and Mushroom Wars 2 G6 is especially lagging. Could anyone prove this claim?
What about framed/2? they say G6 is snail laggish in this

I play this game on my LG G6 and I can confirm that it does lag like CRAZY! Especially BD Raid DAMN!!! Feels like its gonna blow. But everything else is super smooth. Weird thing is my Note7 Exynos 8890 runs Kings Raid on max settings super smooth.
I have zero lags. But I have my G6 pretty much debloated and I always disable the, "Game Battery Saver" option. I think that option makes a difference.
But I mostly only play racing games and COD games.

It seems it has problem with 2D games. My wife's G6 lags like crazy in Angry birds pop. I tried to force GPU rendering in developer settings, but didn't help. I even lowered game resolution in battery settings
No lag at all playing pes2018
Yes, it does lag, but only when charging and playing at full resolution. It also only charges at about 1000 miliamps when screen is on. Not a huge deal for me, but I do hope oreo update will fix this.
Mine has this weird thing where a game will be super smooth for about 5 seconds but goes choppy, then I have to pause and resume for it to go back to smooth for another 5s.
This mainly happens for me in RR3, Plague Inc, Beast Quest and a few others.
Must be a software issue as it's obviously capable enough hardware. Hope Oreo fixes this!
Can't deal with low frame rates!!
Anyone else had this issue?
For me every game is working quite well except Star Wars Galaxy of Heroes. Which I really like so it's quite annoying.
