Why would Optus put it on the market? It's supposed to be on our phone and we're not supposed to be able to get rid of it.

In the highly likely chance that someone would need it if they bought a phone out right ??????
I'm with 3 and they have their apps on the market.

But that's supposed to be the benefit of actually getting the phone from them. They have to have some perks.

I would also really like this as well
When I installed the generic UK firmware, it wiped it out.

024 using OTA. Apparently 026 is available through SEUS.

I'm on stock optus running r2ba026. got the extra year warranty so i'm not rooting yet.

Wow I'm surprised optus are actually keeping up now.
Even if your phone does screw up under warranty though you can still flash back to stock firmware.
From what I've heard optus take up to a month to get the phone back to you anyway so its easier to go to a third party.

Edit: I fixed it. Just realised I typed the wrong username. Thanks, works like a charm. I hate how the widget doesn't work. Optus really needs to work on that. Maybe there will be an app on the Market one day for checking Optus usage with a working widget.

Theres third party apps which work better than the optus widget. Realtime!!
I belive optus only updates every 24 hrs on their servers? I may be incorrect but was when I worked there!

I flashed my phone to 2.1 global. Installed Node Droid from market. Works better than the Optus app IMO.

Thanks. I needed this after I flashed a new ROM on my Optus phone. The widget is kinda glitched though.

Will I be lucky?

Hey guys, as we all know 2.1 is about to roll out for our X10's at any given day now. My question is Im with Rogers here in Canada but my X10 is debranded and not a single thing of Rogers is within my phone. So, will I be lucky enough to not have to wait for the Rogers to release the 2.1 update because knowing Rogers we will just be recieving 2.1 when your all getting 2.2 (if that happens) or will I be able to get it when its released without any waiting from Rogers?

I'm no expert, but if you have the version ending 26, then I don't see why not. Btw some people may slate you for starting another 2.x thread.

Just look at the main 2.1 thread, its been answered many times
And yes, I've done the same thing as you, and I expect we will get the 2.1 update without waiting for Rogers.

I'm in the same situation here. What firmware did you use to debrand? To check when the locked screen is up press menu > back > back > menu > back > menu > menu > back and go to "service info" -> "model info". Mine shows Argentina and I have an X10a as well. Maybe I'll need to reflash it with another firmware.
Is anyone else with an X10a stuck on the same 20? For those of you who have 26, which firmware did you debrand the phone with?

Why don't we all just wait for someone to get 2.1, then we can decide what to do.
I'm sure there are 100s of Rogers users in this forum, me included

It was debranded when I got it...but yeah I'm Argentina as well as a few others...hopefully we don't have to wait for rogers tho...if get it first or before many of you just show me how to share it.

Just restoring stuff now. Am on R2BA026 now, and now it says Generic LAM (b). Seems good now.

i have an x10a that i bought by mistake... unlocked and rooted...
i run t-mobile so 3g wont work.. any good soul wanna trade their x10i with me?
phone is 2 days old.. don't care how old yours is as long its unlocked, its an x10i and there a no scratches..

well here in the US its a big difference if you are on AT&T they used 1900 for 3g which is what the x10a has but T-Mobile uses 1700 for 3g which is what the x10i has.
im on t-mobile so i need the x10i version.

Lawl.. oddly.. i need the x10a.
But my x10i has a few very bad problems, so i doubt you would want to trade.

Riff may have the answer

Not been here for some time but riff can now surport the x10 so all we need is a full dump of a new 2011 HD x10 with the boot loader unlocked and we can just dump that on the old x10s sorted ..
I maybe wrong but I'm sure someone will post back with there forts

IIRC an X10HD is just an X10 that came preinstalled with 2.1, and you're correct, there's no bootloader-unlocked X10.

if it was that easy it would have been done long ago. I dont understand some people dont they ever read?

Sorry to jump the gun a bit I fort Sony was only unlocking the bootloader on 2011 phones so that makes the x10 hd a 2011 phone thay sort of stabed them self in the foot a bit there don't you think ... I know the x10 hd is only the old x10 but it was only on sale in 2011... sorry all. I've ordered a jig for the x10 because Iv solderd and in solderd the wires so many times I've lost a pad on the PCB but ill be back on the sean when. I get my new HD x10 from eBay and my jig

It's true the 2011 Sony phones have an unlocked bootloader.
But only the phones that were released in 2011 (meaning, 2011 models)
The X10 is obviously much older than this and SE has already stated that they wwill never unlock the bootloader for the X10.

Ok update guys i have the keys to the loader, just go into xrecovery while wearing a sombrero and lime green underwear and hit fix permissions 6 times and scratch your head counter clockwise

Yes you will loose it all, but it is now possible to root 2.3.4
