How can I turn of Experia Dialer? It is ****. I like original WM dialer with basic WM contats. Why I must use two Contact Cards (WM and SE)?
No problems, just use Advanced Config and turn it of.
Low_Down
Thanks
Where is the advanced configuration to turn the dialer off? I clicked the phone button which brings me into the dialer then menu tools options and advanced and there is only three options that don't pertain to turning the dialer off....Get you give some detailed instructions to get to this...Thanks.
Phone/Phone skin: Disabled and restart
When I click phone from the windows start icon I just get the dialer that comes up...How do you get into the phone -phone skin disabled menu?
"advanced config" is a seperate tool.... you might be able to use sktools to do the same thing if youve got that. actually im 99% sure you can.
To disable the custom phone skin, use a Registry editor and edit the following:
HKLM\Security\Phone\Skin\Enabled = 0 (DWORD decimal)
You can restore the custom phone skin by changing it back to:
HKLM\Security\Phone\Skin\Enabled = 1 (DWORD decimal)

When I try to change tha language on the pphone pad nothing happens, it always returns to English.
Any one can help?
try changing the PhonePad T9 language with the drop-down box, and OK that dialog - then use a task manager to switch back to the app you're typing in. So don't OK that second dialog (the main SIP dialog). I had this happen a few times as well - I think the above 'solved' it.. soft reboot and it permanently stuck on 'Dutch'. Switched back to English now though
Alternatively, I'm sure there's a registry entry for it somewhere.
Thanks but nope, it still does insist on english
alrighty... registry, then... give it a try...
Code:
HKLM\Software\HTC\Intellipad\Languages = N (DWORD decimal)
Where N =
0 = English
1 = German
2 = French
3 = Italian
4 = Spanish
5 = Portuguese
6 = Czech
8 = Dutch
17 = Turkish
Your device *may* have other languages and/or other codes. It's easy to check what it get set to if you have a util to switch tasks: adjust the registry, go to the SIP settings and click the Options button. If it's not the one you wanted, close the Options dialog. Adjust registry, switch back to SIP settings, click the Options button. If it's not the one you wanted, etc.
Good luck
whatever I do, it switches back to 0 = English :x
no idea
you could try in reverse as well... i.e. click the Options button, change the language in the drop-down, and click OK on that dialog (and ONLY THAT DIALOG). Now check the registry - again, use a task switcher or something. Make sure to refresh if your registry editor needs a refresh (PHM does). See if the correct value is set in the registry. If it is, press and hold the power button until you get the message about shutting down. Choose yes. Then wait a second or two for it to boot down, and turn it back on. With any luck, it will have stuck now. If not, I'm completely out of ideas
Been there done than, still insists
one step at a time, then....
when you change the language drop-down selection for the Phone Pad SIP, does the registry value at least change?
Nope :?
and are you making sure that you refresh the view ? e.g. when using PHM regedit
If so - uhh.. no idea, maybe it's setting it somewhere else on your device, but I wouldn't have the foggiest where
Yes, it's OK though I will use the normal keyboard till I find a solution. Thanks a lot
weird.. good luck
maybe somebody else has some other thoughts
No one else?
Hi, you know how on Windows XP you can disable the whole 'theme' service, all the shadows, alpha blending etc and the system runs much faster?
Well, I'd like to do that with my Universal. Does anyone know if it's possible at all? TIA!
From the Universal WiKi pages (http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Universal_Registry)
To set or remove the operator phone skin
The setting is at 'HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Security\Phone\Skin'
The 'Enabled' DWORD value can be set to '1' to show the operator skin or '0' to show the default skin
How to Disable the Start Menu Animation
Go to the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\GWE\Menu key.
Set the "AniType" value data to 0 (Set to 6 to return to full animation).
Soft reset.
How to Enable Window Animation
Go to the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\GWE key.
Set the "Animate" value data to 1 (Set to 0 to return to no animation).
Soft reset.
Yup, done those. But I was more talking about the wallpaper and stuff like that. Completely remove the wallpaper and so on.
Wallpaper and stuff won't make much difference. Best bet is to hardreset, skip the extended rom, and thus completely disable all phone skinning, which is an enormous PITA drain on the CPU.

is it possible to get the rotate screen icon in the taskbar? i tried several registry tweaks (for different devices) and none worked. did anyone of you get it in the taskbar without any thirdparty programs?
thx.
edit: i tried the following tweaks (none worked):
Hide/Show Screen orientation icon
If you wish to hide the Screen orientation icon, shown in the task bar on some devices, you can set:
HKLM\Services\?ScreenRotate\ShowIcon = 0 (DWORD decimal)
HKLM\System\GDI\Rotation\HideOrientationUI = 1 (DWORD decimal)
And to show it again:
HKLM\Services\?ScreenRotate\ShowIcon = 1 (DWORD decimal)
HKLM\System\GDI\Rotation\HideOrientationUI = 0 (DWORD decimal)
If this doesn't work, you can try:
HKLM\Services\screenrotate = 0 (DWORD decimal)
And to show it again:
HKLM\Services\screenrotate = 1 (DWORD decimal)
doesn't anyone have an idea?
screen rotate cab here
It's probably available somewhere in this forum too....I just couldn't find it
thx, but doesn't work.
I'm also wanting to have a screen rotate icon on the task bar. I've also tried changing the registry HKLM\Services\screenrotate = 1 (DWORD decimal).
I also could not get it to work. So, has anyone tried it and got it working? (without third party program such as WisbarAdvance3)

Strange, after installing the CAB there is still no icon on the task bar
Edit: Oh I see.. It's on the system tray,not the task bar. No this is not what I want at all. I already can do that without this cab. This requires me to first go to today screen, then click on that icon, which is what I can do with SPB Pocket plus. What I want is for it to go to TASK BAR.
Sorry, I was looking at the task bar all this while, and I did not pay attention to the system tray.
Take a look at Wisbar 3. http://www.lakeridgesoftware.com/forum/showthread.php?t=11258

Longkesh, thanks for the reply. I'm aware that WA3 has this. I'm still not decided if i'd make the switch from magic button back to wisbar. I was using wisbar before but I like magic button more at this moment. I was hoping to remedy its weakness (no screen rotate on task bar) by some other method. I've already tested WA3 and am aware of its strength. I know it could potentially replace both magic button and spb pocket plus. However, I also like pocket plus more at this moment. With Spb Pocket plus, the programs icons could be made bigger so that you can see them on vga mode, whereas WA3 places them into system tray and there does not appear to be any facility to make their buttons bigger. In addition, I have a feeling that MB is leaner since it doesn't try to do too many things. I notice that applications run a shade quicker.
That's why i'm still hoping to put up a screen rotate icon onto the task bar despite knowing that WA3 can do this.

Ah I see. I wonder if there is a hack to allow this icon to show up at the top in the task bar.
Screen rotate
I would be interested as well.
I use iLancher and put a rotate icon on my today screen.
I use this
This is what I use, with shortcut in start menu
Try pBar
I use pBar. It has screen rotate and much more.

Yes I think it is time to uninstall this rotate se thing But the pBar one rotates in circles instead of flipping back and forth
I've since have a rethink on this, and decided that the best method of rotating for me is to assign one of the hardware buttons to the rotate function.
The reason for doing this is that I often need to rotate the screen while using internet explorer or opera in full screen mode. Pb this mode, I do not have the benefit of seeing the task bar. It involved more steps to either get to the task bar, today screen, or the start button. I sacrifice the ability to start the web browser with hardware button of course.
You can make it by Pocket Toolman. Very goog program.
DAMN! 2006 till 2009 and still no reply?
im searching for the same like that.
you could use wisbar advantage, but thet ptogram wil also skin your taskbar...
but if somone could reply, would be nicer..
Please check this out ...
Works nice on my HD2

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=3050329
BTW, thanks it works great, good suggestion
I assigned it to a hard key
I hate it when it automatically rotates if we use the other software that rotates automatically, is very annoying.

Pocketshield has the option to disable the HTC dialer and use the standard WM6 or its own custom dialer skin. If you chnaged this - did you re-enable the HTC dialer. When you press the call button - do you see the HTC dialer or WM6 dialer.
If you only have the WM6 dialer - this is the problem. Use HD Tweaks to change the dialer back to the HTC one or change the following with a reg editor
HKLM\security\phone\skin_enabled
change this key from 0 to 1.

...exactly what i think...
Well, thanks guys.
After changing the registry key, my BT Icon appeared again!
So,
i found this thread, i have the same problem, but pocketshield installed.
The BT icon has reset itself to B&W again, and the graphic style is gone.
I have tried everything, but it won't return.
No, i do NOT want to allow any phone skin, so how can i bring the nice icon back?
is there a way to port the bt icon to another device? I would like to have the bt icon for my treo pro. it is running WM BT stack as well.
I've been scouring the forums with no luck so far, I need a way to disable the lock that is attached to a short press of the End Key on my Touch 2's.
Reg Tweak, app any suggestions welcome, its causing me quite a problem, I want to roll these out for a corporate app and the kiosk I use is not blocking this operation.
Cheers - Sam
i m also searching for the same solution , any help ?
if you search by google you can find solution. For this time i write solution but in future search first with google or in this forum with search tools
For disable lockscreen you can modify this
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Shell\LockScreen:Enable "0"
You can use ceregedit (with pc) or PHM registry editor

Dude,
I've tried doin that but all u're gonna do is invoke the old lockscreen from previous WM version... I think what the other guy wants is totally no lockscreen at all =)
yep
tried that, we really need the lock and screenlock removing so this button does nothing at all
lockscreen dll?
I think that the function is given by dll lockscreen.dll. Tonight I try to replace it and see what happens. We'll let you know later.
hi, I was trying some software in my Touch and I got myself into situation where my phone did not lock up after pressing "power off" button but I was still able to lock the screen using Lock software button/icon. It was simply result of installing S2U2 and configuring it as default lockscreen.
If you perform these steps only known way to return to default state is hard reset!
Install S2U2.
right after installation goto start menu > directory s2u2 > click on S2U2 and it should se itself.
Uninstalll S2U2
in settings > lock set your default lock screen

Well you can recover the original lock screen and everything by downloading this file http://acs2.mstreme.com/download/RestoreWM65DeviceLock.cab.
For more info check s2u2's FAQ, under WM 6.5, "Q. How to restore the WM6.5 built-in lock?", here http://67.43.3.117/~acs2co/S2U2-faq.html
disable in WM6.5 the Key Lock / Keylock at Standby
I find a possibility to deactivate the Key lock in standby at Windows Mobile 6.5 :
with this registry key:
Add a new "DWORD" value
in HKEY_CURRENT_USER/ControlPanel/Keybd
Name: DeviceLockWhenSuspend
Value: 0
after this take a softreset and have fun
