rotate screen icon in taskbar? - Advantage X7500, MDA Ameo General

is it possible to get the rotate screen icon in the taskbar? i tried several registry tweaks (for different devices) and none worked. did anyone of you get it in the taskbar without any thirdparty programs?
thx.
edit: i tried the following tweaks (none worked):
Hide/Show Screen orientation icon
If you wish to hide the Screen orientation icon, shown in the task bar on some devices, you can set:
HKLM\Services\?ScreenRotate\ShowIcon = 0 (DWORD decimal)
HKLM\System\GDI\Rotation\HideOrientationUI = 1 (DWORD decimal)
And to show it again:
HKLM\Services\?ScreenRotate\ShowIcon = 1 (DWORD decimal)
HKLM\System\GDI\Rotation\HideOrientationUI = 0 (DWORD decimal)
If this doesn't work, you can try:
HKLM\Services\screenrotate = 0 (DWORD decimal)
And to show it again:
HKLM\Services\screenrotate = 1 (DWORD decimal)

doesn't anyone have an idea?

screen rotate cab here
It's probably available somewhere in this forum too....I just couldn't find it

thx, but doesn't work.

I'm also wanting to have a screen rotate icon on the task bar. I've also tried changing the registry HKLM\Services\screenrotate = 1 (DWORD decimal).
I also could not get it to work. So, has anyone tried it and got it working? (without third party program such as WisbarAdvance3)

Strange, after installing the CAB there is still no icon on the task bar
Edit: Oh I see.. It's on the system tray, not the task bar. No this is not what I want at all. I already can do that without this cab. This requires me to first go to today screen, then click on that icon, which is what I can do with SPB Pocket plus. What I want is for it to go to TASK BAR.
Sorry, I was looking at the task bar all this while, and I did not pay attention to the system tray.

Take a look at Wisbar 3. http://www.lakeridgesoftware.com/forum/showthread.php?t=11258

Longkesh, thanks for the reply. I'm aware that WA3 has this. I'm still not decided if i'd make the switch from magic button back to wisbar. I was using wisbar before but I like magic button more at this moment. I was hoping to remedy its weakness (no screen rotate on task bar) by some other method. I've already tested WA3 and am aware of its strength. I know it could potentially replace both magic button and spb pocket plus. However, I also like pocket plus more at this moment. With Spb Pocket plus, the programs icons could be made bigger so that you can see them on vga mode, whereas WA3 places them into system tray and there does not appear to be any facility to make their buttons bigger. In addition, I have a feeling that MB is leaner since it doesn't try to do too many things. I notice that applications run a shade quicker.
That's why i'm still hoping to put up a screen rotate icon onto the task bar despite knowing that WA3 can do this.

Ah I see. I wonder if there is a hack to allow this icon to show up at the top in the task bar.

Screen rotate
I would be interested as well.

I use iLancher and put a rotate icon on my today screen.

I use this
This is what I use, with shortcut in start menu

Try pBar
I use pBar. It has screen rotate and much more.

Yes I think it is time to uninstall this rotate se thing But the pBar one rotates in circles instead of flipping back and forth

I've since have a rethink on this, and decided that the best method of rotating for me is to assign one of the hardware buttons to the rotate function.
The reason for doing this is that I often need to rotate the screen while using internet explorer or opera in full screen mode. Pb this mode, I do not have the benefit of seeing the task bar. It involved more steps to either get to the task bar, today screen, or the start button. I sacrifice the ability to start the web browser with hardware button of course.

You can make it by Pocket Toolman. Very goog program.

DAMN! 2006 till 2009 and still no reply?
im searching for the same like that.
you could use wisbar advantage, but thet ptogram wil also skin your taskbar...
but if somone could reply, would be nicer..

Please check this out ...

I assigned it to a hard key
I hate it when it automatically rotates if we use the other software that rotates automatically, is very annoying.

Add Application Shortcut to Today screen

Hello:
Anyone know hoe to put application shortcuts straight onto the today screeen??
I already have claunch for myself, buy am setting up a simple system for mum on an older unit. I was hopinh to get a shortcut to the simpler apps like contacts straight on the today screen.
I know if you install tomtom you get an option in the today list to show tomtom on the list - This is similar to what I want (but not tomtom)
any ideas?
I use Pocket Plus from SPB. It's a great little app that also includes repeating alerts and an option to make the 'close' button really quit the app and not just hide it in background. All highly configureable. Check out Handango for a trial and purchase.
I use cLaunch. It works great and is VERY configurable! AND it's freeware!
I use the following group-settings to get four full sized icon on each "page":
Icon size =32
Icon name enabled
Icon width = 48
Icon name at bottom
Icon name height = 14
Icon margins = 1 hor. and vert.
Window margin = 0
I have enabled "Tap empty space to advance to next group" so that I can page through the icon groups easily.
(edit: didn't catch that you already tried this app! Anyway try my settings. I can't imagine a simpler way to launch from the today-screen. BTW I have turned of the menu bar also because I just use a few icon (four in each group) just like you seem to want too.)
Another option is PHM Pocket Power Tools (or is it Toys?). It has a TrayLaunch application, which allows shortcuts to be placed in it and it displays at the bottom of the Today screen - where the NEW menu item is located. It's freeware as well.
yep: your setting worked great, thanks for the help - I never though of configuring cLaunch like that.

PROB SOLVED - Icons on uppr right start tl bar do nt shw up

Please see attached screen capture to visualize problem. The signal strength icon only shows 1/2 of itself, the volume and upcoming appointment icons do not show up at all. Occasionally, when the setting page is displayed, the signal strength icon will display in its entirety. Once the settings screen is minimized, then the signal strength goes back to 1/2 display. Any ideas as to what is wrong? Thank-you, MWP.[/img]
Help - Icons on upper right start tool bar do not show up
I have the same problem, it happened right after I installed Registry Wizard. Anyone know how to fix this, or what setting on Registry Wizard may have caused this?
Help - Icons on upper right start tool bar do not show up
In Regisrty Wizard, I had to set the "Task Bar Date/Time" from "Nothing" to "Clock" to get my sound and signal icons back.
What happens if you're not using registry wizard?
Is there a reg hack using Resco Registry that I can entry to correct this problem? Thanks for your help in advance, MWP.
Problem Solved!
Alter Taskbar Date/Time
Registry: HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Shell
Key: TBOpt (dWord)
Value: 0 = Nothing
1 = Time
2 = Date
3 = Time and date
Using option 1 works like a charm and restores the tool bar icons!
Regards to all, MWP.

JogDial in the browser

Hi all
anybody know if it's possibile to use the jogdial (on the left side) for page up and page down (scrool page) in the ie browser ?
... for now the jogdial use only links scrool.
Can be usefool to use it for scrooling pages up and down.
Thanks
Denis
The default behaviour for your device's four-way direction button in Pocket Internet Explorer (PIE) is to jump between hyperlinks/form fields on a web page. To change this behaviour so that the button scrolls the page left, right, up and down, use the following tweak:
\HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Navigation\4-Way Nav = 0 (DWORD decimal)
And to re-enable hyperlink/form field navigation:
\HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Navigation\4-Way Nav = 1 (DWORD decimal)
NB: You may still jump between links using Tab and Shift-Tab if your device has a built-in hardware keyboard.

I think that was on www.pocketpctweaks.com...not sure...can't be bothered to check.
Great .... !
it's work.
Now i can navigate without the stylus.
With four-way i go up/down and with jog i can take the links.
Thanks a lot
Denis
This works great. Another question - is there a hack to change the amount of the page scrolled? Currently it will scroll a whole page. Can you change it to only scroll say 3 lines at a time (much like a normal PC mousewheel)?
I'm using a programme called PIE plus which has changed my browsing experience on my M3100.
It gives you the scrolling control that you mention plus many many more options
I think it comes in a trial version for you to try before you buy.

Received Message Viewing Problem

This newbie got greedy--after various successful registry tweaks I tried getting rid of the "message sent" display that follows sending a text message. But my Cingular 8525 did not have the "Settings" key and following values that the post described for disabling the feature and I tried creating a settngs key and didn't to it successfully.
Bottom line is now when I open a text message the device immediatley scrolls down to the bottom of the page where there is no message and it is blank so I have to scroll back up to the top. With emails, it scrolls to the middle of the page. Any advice andor assistance would be appreciated.
Answered Myself
Turns out the problem was one of the registry tweaks I made, namely altering the behavior of the navigation button when using Explorerer. I undid that change and my problem with text and email messages is solved.
...more
Fyi, here is the tweak that I needed to undo:
Navigate without stylus

This setting may not stick after a soft reset.
Yes, glad you solved the issue. For those who may have done the tweak using third party software - it's commonly known as "smooth scroll" then you will find that your tab behaviour in messaging is altered. For example you can no longer tab from name/contact to the message body.

Turn of experia dialer.

How can I turn of Experia Dialer? It is ****. I like original WM dialer with basic WM contats. Why I must use two Contact Cards (WM and SE)?
No problems, just use Advanced Config and turn it of.
Low_Down
Thanks
Where is the advanced configuration to turn the dialer off? I clicked the phone button which brings me into the dialer then menu tools options and advanced and there is only three options that don't pertain to turning the dialer off....Get you give some detailed instructions to get to this...Thanks.
Phone/Phone skin: Disabled and restart
When I click phone from the windows start icon I just get the dialer that comes up...How do you get into the phone -phone skin disabled menu?
"advanced config" is a seperate tool.... you might be able to use sktools to do the same thing if youve got that. actually im 99% sure you can.
To disable the custom phone skin, use a Registry editor and edit the following:
HKLM\Security\Phone\Skin\Enabled = 0 (DWORD decimal)
You can restore the custom phone skin by changing it back to:
HKLM\Security\Phone\Skin\Enabled = 1 (DWORD decimal)
