hello, will HTC Legend get Tap Tap revange ?
i love it, play it alot on ipod, but want it for my HTC Legend !
it probably won't get it, since tap tap is a iPhone application, and needs to be completely rewritten....so only the original dev would have to re-write it, and that is very unlikely to happen

I was using a HTC tornado, after long used hardware keys start giving problems. I thought a fully touch phone with no depending on hardkey is my future solution and Android is more or like iPhone or more better. So, I choose this Tattoo small and beauty Android phone.
But why it is so much depending on this 'back' and 'menu' hardkeys for its operation???? Why the android developing team did not include some other alternative?? like some gestures or small icons??
I hope they consider this case in future releases.

Because, how would you press a home icon when the appilication has frozen, and also, why not have buttons to accept/reject calls instead of pressing buttons on the screen (like the iPhone)?
I'm sure you can figure it out...
Ill have to agree with thacen on this one. I hade an artemis which in the long run had hard buttons problems. Only thing that made it still useable was that winmo doesnt depend on hard buttons. I think the android people should think about that. Im not saying the buttons should be eliminated, as coburn said they are useful. But we should have an alternative with not using the hard buttons, even if this means soft reset the device when an app freeze if the home hard button does not work anymore.
Actually, I think Android has a feature like the iPhone built-in. If someone is calling you and you get "Incoming Call", try tapping the grey box that has the android in it. It may work.
Euh I have onscreen answer/reject buttons dont you? ... we were mostly refering to closing apps etc. There is basically no onscreen close buttons.
can someone try that on a Legend ?

Works ? Live Wallpaper ?
confirmed - works - BUT, no livewallpaper and the old 'drawer' launcher. looks more 1.6 to me than 2.1....
Do your battery last longer ?
Otherwise I don't see the point...
TY for testing that.
I couldnt disable it. As soon as I "force close", HTC Sense automatically starts again.

You most likely forgot to push the Clear Defaults button first.
Clear Defaults - Force stop - Home key, and voilá.

Yes, that was the problem. Thank you.
It is much better with HTC Sense, the only thing I liked is "animation" when opening and closing programs. It looks something like zooming in when opening, and zooming out when closing apps. Actually, it is not "only", because I liked it pretty much. Is there any way I can enable that with HTC Sense?
Install " AdvancedLauncher " from the Blapk Market, and when you press home button, and select " Acceuil " ( for french user ) com.android.laucher.
have fun =)
Edit : the live paper dosnt work for me
AdvancedLauncher doesnt work for me. Force close every time I try to launch it, after that I have to restart my phone.
When you press home button, you have 3 slot, com.android.laucher, com.irrenhaus.advancedlaucher.donut and HTC sense
press com.android.laucher and not com.irrenhaus.advancedlaucher.donut
When I press Home, I have other 3 options:
-AdvancedLauncher
-Home
-HTC Sense
I chose first one, and then phone crashed.
Try to select home ..
Tried that... I get only UI without HTC Sense.
I don't understend, you want remove completly HTC SENSE ?
No, I want HTC Sense with animation (when opening and closing programs), which looks something like zooming in when opening, and zooming out when closing apps. These animation can be seen when HTC is disabled.
Setting/sound and screen/ Animation ?
( sorry I have HTC legend in french : Paramètres /Sons et affichage/Animation )
I did that first, but there are still no animations like when I disable HTC Sense.
So you want disable HTC Sence and enable just the animation ?
Hi... I´m very interested in this phone and also want to know wether we can have a nexus one 3d launcher.... without sense...

It works. Thanks for the file
thank you for testing it.
Hello!
I've just moved to Android 2.1, coming from WinMo (HD2 Flashed WM6.5.x). I spent many long hours, tweaking just about everything in order to get the look I wanted. I was told by many, that I would have no problem doing all the same on the Evo and even much more. So I'm in love with my Evo experience so far and have no plans to go back to WinMo even though I was happy with it.
All weekend, I've searched high and low. Ran through nearly a hundred apps out of a list of 150 and growing. Yet here I am still trying to find a few types of apps and mods.
IS THERE:
1. An app like ListPro which is the best Windows Mobile general list keeping app ever made. I'm looking for an app to create general lists of all types, with custom fields and so on. And furthermore, having a desktop app that syncs with it, is also high on the list. Being able to enter data on a desktop and sync it all with great ease, to a matching mobile app, is something I would pay dearly for.
2. On the HTC Evo, the Sense home screen is okay but could really use a touch of xda Co0kies Home Tab. Looking, but can't find any such app. Recently, I downloaded nearly 200 analog clocks for the HD2 Sense home screen. Where are the Android custom analog clocks?
3. Is it possible to change the color of the top status bar of Android? And also how about the bottom bar? Can we not have wallpaper that extends the entire screen so that the bars match the wallpaper?
4. Can the slide to unlock bar be disabled? Pressing the power button is hard enough to not have to worry about the screen being on when not wanted.
5. How about an on-screen power/sleep icon/button? It would be nice to be able to put the phone to sleep without having to reach for that little power button.
6. What is up with the wallpaper??? At first I thought, well since I love my HTC HD2 wallpaper so much, why don't I just transfer it to my Evo. Sure thing but it ends up being cropped and stretched, no matter what I do. I've read page after page and tried a few different things and can't seem to get it right. I tried using a png image that was 960x800 after first trying the 800x480. I tried holding my finger in the crop screen and sliding the selection area but it will not allow me to select the entire image size. So the Evo Sense has 7 screens but why not just one image displayed in full screen, on each screen? What was Google/HTC thinking?!?!?!
I've searched many forums and I just can't seem to find the answers to these questions so far and so I figure it can't hurt to ask around.
Thanks to jmxp69, an answer for number 4: Freeware app called No Lock in the Android market does the trick. Installing it and then activating it will turn off the slide to unlock screen. Furthermore it makes the volume up/down buttons wake up the Evo, the same as the power button does. So far it looks like it does not effect any of the 4 cap buttons.
You can install Menu Unlock form market [donate] or find it on xda for free. It works for me(I removed HtcLockScreen). I'm not sure I like No Lock yet. It works but it seems like it can be too much. Meaning I don't want it to wake and unlock, just wake from the volume buttons then slide or menu to unlock the screen.
That said I'm trying to get something like trackball wake going that will let the phone just be woke from sleep then you'll need to slide or tap menu.
The other thing I'm looking forward to is full display out on the HDMI. I want to see the home screen and games and anything else on the display.
Thanks but now I'm trying to find a way to only disable the lock screen on wake up and only have it show up when the phone rings. Still looking and hoping to find a way to do this.......
Hello there,
Today I went with a friend of mine and bought him a brand new LG G3, I played with the phone a bit, and I really liked the "double tap" feature where you can lock or wake the phone up without having to press the power button every time you wish to unlock the phone.
My question is, is it possible to implement this setting in the Note 4? (N910C)
and if it is developed or under development, can anyone suggest a kernel/mod/rom that has that feature...
Thanks guys.
it's just a simple question and I'm new here :/
can't anyone suggest something?
I would be appreciate it.
Nope and nope for both of your questions.

hi,
just a quick point. /and question ?
Why do i want to double tap to wake etc...? If i have some other good options?
i flip open my S view case, to wake my device (without touching my screen etc) To put my phone to sleep i can either also double tap screen (Screen off app on Play market) or slide my finger (along top right side)(GMD app.. need root) on screen.. same effect?
To me its just as cool !
(Just some other cool methods!)
Good luck

Well, yeah I know these options and about those apps, all of these apps have one thing, they can lock the screen and not wake it up.
Its not that I will need this feature in anyway.. was just asking if it's possible to implement it through the kernel or a rom, or if its a hardware sensor thing..
because I was wondering, how would a phone wake up from an "OFF" screen with tapping on it, if there wan't any sensor to detect it..
and I wanted to see how would that work on a phone that never had that feature before such as samsung.
Thanks for your answer.
PM: I don't have a samsung phone, my question was for educational purpose as I'm doing electrical engineering.
Yes, it's totally possible, and has been added to many custom ROMs for many different devices.
Actually, to be more accurate, it's added to the kernel. So basically just look at all the custom kernels that are available for you, and see if any have that feature. If not, you could always ask a kernel developer nicely, or offer to donate a little if they'd add it for you..
Hello
Since many have asked about this feature.....I sort of have it on my htc m8. It only works in portrait, and only to open the phone, not close it.
Well since the new nexus 6p does not have this feature....(all you need to do is pick it up, or fingerprint, or even a slight nudge btw)
But if you wish you can just double tap to close the screen (instead of using button or waiting until it dims back to sleep)
I use this. It works flawless btw
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=diewland.screen.off&hl=en
Also..if you use nova, i just set up a gesture (double tap - go choose the app soft screen)
Literally has worked 100% of the time in the past 18 months, and uses no memory
this is not a question. this should go in the apps section.
True.... I can't seem to move it. I need a moderator I believe
It was an answer to a few questions asked so wasn't sure apps or here.
