Do None of you guys read anything?
How to do the update is in the Cyanogen post where you download the frigging ROM.
Official update patch zip
If you are on a completely stock ERD79 device (including stock recovery image), you can use the official ERE27 update (this is the same as the OTA update). Just download it, put it on the SD card named update.zip, launch recovery (power on with volume down held), press power and volume up when the warning triangle icon appears then select 'apply update.zip'. Sorted

[SOLVED] OTA keeps trying to push an update... will it cause issues?

Hi,
I am currently running:
Android Version: 3.1
Kernel Version: 2.6.36.3
Build Number: Acer_A500_4.010.11_COM_GEN2
The system wants me to update to 4.010.13 (says it is a 14.49mb file); I am rooted now... anyone experience any issues with letting this update happen?
*** Update ***
I figured out how to resolve this issue; maybe my findings will help others as well. This solution assumes you are rooted and are running Acer Recovery Installer.
Launch Acer Recovery Installer
Click "Stock USA #.###.##_???_??? recovery (Substitute # and ? with whatever yours says)
Click "Install Recovery Image"
Let it backup current Recovery Image if it asks!
Once the recovery image is back to stock close Acer Recovery Installer
Launch Settings
Select "About Tablet"
Select "System Update"
Select "Check Now"
Download update
Install Now
Once downloaded the system will reboot into recovery, install the update and reboot (BE PATIENT IT WILL TAKE A FEW MINUTES! DO NOT REBOOT MANUALLY!!!!!!)
Once the system reboots you will see several dialogue boxes that says different aspects were successful
Now that all of that is finished launch Acer Recovery Installer again
Select "Restore previously backed-up recovery image
When that completes... you are ready to work again!
I believe that update will not effect anything.
Or very little.

I'm a bit confused.. whats the difference between CWM and Stock recovery.. (Volume down+camera+power).. thats how you would boot into CWM(purple, orange, etc...)
you can use this to return to stock
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1027904&highlight=rerfs
and just use the purple cwm to apply the update
make sure you rename it to Recovery.zip and place in the root of sd card

problem to update to 4.3 with TWRP installed

Hi guys. I have a small question and maybe a problem. I have Nexus 4 rooted with unlocked boot loader, and TWRP installed on it. And as I think with stock rom, because only done everything to root, but nothing else.
Now I have a problem: phone offering to update to 4.3. I press update. It updating and restarting, but after restart it loads TWRP. And what should I do next to finish update? Because I don't know how to make it finish updating with TWRP? What should I do with TWRP to do so? I will be very thankful for any help. Because twice was making update, but still on 4.2.2.
You need to flash the stock recovery because you can't update via OTA with a custom recovery.
You can actually OTA with TWRP.. The device should load into TWRP and complete the update. After the update you will lose TWRP and root

This is incorrect. The best way to update is download the ota zip from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2145848
Go to twrp recovery flash the ota zip then SU zip v1.51 reboot done. Now you got 4.3 with root and you won't lose your recovery

When you get the notification saying there is a update on your phone you select it and it downloads flashes the ota zip. What I said is the same thing except you download it and flash it your self and by doing it this way you can flash the SU zip at the same time and not lose root or recovery.

Thanks, your post above made me read that thread you linked and while it works, it's not a real OTA (notification from Google or OEMs), but let's not fall into semantics here, the thing is it works and does the job pretty much like a real OTA. Thanks again, I learned (and downloaded) something new today

[XT1032] OTA 5.0.2 EURetail.en captured

Got the OTA for Lolllipop 5.0.2 today. Copied it from /cache/ before I started the update. Update info stated it would take around 15 minutes to complete, but in my case it took closer to 25 minutes. It stayed for a couple of minutes on the bootloader logo ("warning bootloader unlocked"), so don't freak out and just let it finish. I was on Kitkat stock, rooted and using Xposed. I uninstalled Xposed framework before applying the OTA.

The most common reasons for the error response are:
1. Not currently running EU 4.4.4 stock.
2. Rooted.
3. Custom recovery.
Someone feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

Fingerprint errors are usually caused by not using the stock recovery. You need the recovery that's part of the stock ROM.

I noticed you have a ROM "EuRetailSL". I'm quite sure I upgraded from a Kitkat ROM without "SL" in the name.

Can we get a Step by Step to update to 27?

So my scenario.
I'm on the unlocked B20_boot Build. Rooted. TWRP.
What files are needed to upgrade to B27?
What are the step by step?
I have read through the different threads, but it is confusing at times and rather not make a mistake. It would probably benefit multiple people.
Cheers!
I'm in the same boat. I downgraded to B20 and cannot get the .up file provided recognized in recovery to flash. Using the system updater just puts me right back on B20_Boot. Just using the twrp backup does not flash the B27 firmware.

Correct.
