Hi All
i've managed to update few lines of code in android.policy.jar. As you propably know the vanilla stock locksreen is broken this way :
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
for fixed stock lockscreen flash update_vanilla.zip
for vanilla rotary lockscreen flash update_rotary.zip
Vanilla rotary :
Vanilla stock :
Instructions :
1. boot phone into recovery (instructions here )
2. rename HTC lockscreen :
Code:
adb shell
mount /system
mv /system/app/HtcLockScreen.apk /system/app/HtcLockScreen.bak
exit
3. copy update to sdcard
Code:
adb shell mount /sdcard
adb push update_rotary.zip /sdcard
or
adb push update_vanilla.zip /sdcard
4. apply update zip
5. reboot the phone
first boot will take little longer due to odexing apps.
Note : If you are using the vanilla lock screen then you must set your alarm in android’s clock application (or a 3rd party app) and not in HTC’s if you want to be able to turn it off in the morning.
Issues/bugs : HTC alarm clock, won't work on odexed ROM (stock, or MCR r2) do not even try it on these ROMs you will most propably get endless loop.
Remember that if you use this guide, you do so entirely at your own risk!!
works great, thanks mate
Thanks for this, I will try it out later
I had some problems trying this on my phone via another method (as you probably know ) lol.
I'm bit of a newbie in these things. What is an odexed ROM? I am using MCR r3, will this work for me?
Regards,
zeebee
Awesome! Will it use whatever wallpaper you're using on the phone, or the one shown above?

I think that is an older pic taken from HTC Hero and not the Desire.
EDIT: Looks like its not working for me on MCR R1 ROM, always appears to have the broken lockscreen... I will try another custom ROM instead.

Are you sure it's MCR r1? Look for *.odex files in /system/framework. If they're present you have stock Rom.

Pretty sure mate, i have installed the initial release of Paul's MCR R1 ROM. When i last checked for .odex files in /system/framework, it did show htclockscreen.odex, no htclockscreen.apk shown in /system/app.
I will try another custom ROM (propably BraveSoul v1.6/7) later tonight (if possibble because my bandwidth is crap right now - ISP problems ) and it should work fine.

There's supposed an .apk-file for this to work, and not an .odex-file, am I right?

if there's no htclockscreen.apk in /system/app then its most likely that you are running a ROM with an odexed apps folder. Try it again on a different ROM (not stock of MCR R2 ROMs). i'm using Pays BraveSoul v1.7 ROM and it it not broken although the background of the lockscreen is transparent.

yes it will work.
Any chance for a version which will work on the stock-rom based root? (Modaco r1 method)
Cheers
Anyone else experiencing a thin line across the screen?
Also, is there a way to flash the normal Android clock so we don't need to use HTC world clock?

Just seen it's also present in the screenshot. Shame. The haptic feedback is always a bit much on the left+right lock screen.

I'll see what I can do then
As I take it, the fact /system/framework contains both .jar and .odex is why... Do the .odex files need to be somewhere else??
Bah...

Whats to do
1. Download your file
2. Copy this to root of your SD Card
3. NANDROID BACKUP !!!!!!!!!
4. Apply zip from SD
I hope you like it.
Please. make a nandroid. I didn't have a Desire so I can't test it. On our german Forums there are testers for this and it works there.
Known Issues
If you have a stock black bar on your Homescreen, I know that you're using LauncherPro or ADW.Launcher and have a static wallpaper. These two Home Replacements uses Wallpaper Hacks. Thats okay to make the scrolling speed with live wallpapers fast.
On ADW.Launcher you can uncheck the WallpaperHack. You don't need it with static wallpapers.
On LauncherPro you don't have this chance, sorry. Write to the creator of LauncherPro to make this optional^^
Didnt work for me on froyo with sense ui....was just black bar...
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
Works great on SetROM 3.5 (froyo, no sense ui)
Thanks!!
@mrwookie
have you read the known issues part in the first post?
You have Launcher pro or ADW, right?
Then please read it again
Can You add battery %?
Also, can You make the notification area transparent or black?
Thanks!
Transparent isn't possible on FroYo, as far as I know.
On our Nexus, we don't have this possibility, too.
If anybody has an idea: Help is appreciated^^
Battery Percentage? What do you mean?
maybe a silly question, but since i do not have a desire yet:
what do you mean with:
4. Apply zip from SD
how can you apply a zip?
should it be extracted, clicked on, double clicked, opened in a program, selected as a theme etc etc.
If you're phone is roored and you're running an custom recovery and have installed a custom rom over this recovery, you know what it means.^^
If not:
You can apply update.zip as they are. Don't extract, don't use any programs. Just boot into recovery, select "update from zip" and choose your zip file you wanna have installed.

It is possible. Actually Your theme took it off It is included in SetROM ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=699648 )
By battery precentage I mean an indicator of battery % left in the middle of the circle (like here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=7126291&postcount=17 )
OK, I'll have a look into it
Thanks for the links.

No Problem with a Nandroid Backup, isn't it?
It is very cool, when you write your rom to those error messages.
"Won't work" doesn't help me.
Guys, I've spend a few hours over it, I never have a desire and you don't have 1 Minute to describe a bit more? I do it only for you, not for me.

I really don't know whats going wrong there.
On Nexus One it is far easier to make themes/Metamorphs.
If you know how you can get your desire running if it fails, you can try it again.
Sorry for the problems.
Here is a sense theme for cm6-prefinal for milestone.
Screenshots
There is also a battery modded version of this theme which has battery % displayed inside the battery icon on the statusbar. The %'s displayed are 0,5,15,20,30,40,50,60,70,80,90 & 100. Check screenshot below.
Procedure
First select Settings->CyanogenMod settings->User interface->Tweaks extras->Reset UI tweaks to default
Download the zip file and flash using AOR after wiping Dalvik/Cache.
After rebooting the phone, you need to follow the steps below to get the final look.
Settings->CyanogenMod settings->User interface->Status bar->Clock color->#ffffffff ( white )
Settings->CyanogenMod settings->User interface->Date and provider->Date color->#ffffffff ( white )
Settings->CyanogenMod settings->User interface->Date and provider->Carrier PLMN label color->#ffffffff ( white )
Settings->CyanogenMod settings->User interface->Date and provider->Carrier SPN label color->#ffffffff ( white )
Settings->CyanogenMod settings->User interface->Notification colors->Notifications ticker color->#ffffffff ( white )
Extras
If you want to have a sense like dock as shown in the screenshots, you will need LauncherPro or Adw for it to work. Procedure to get it working is available here. Png's for this is attached. I have also included a few Sense 3.0 wallpapers if you need them.
I have also included the fancy clock widget. Once you install the theme, you will find it in your list of apps.

Hello Sileshn!sorry to ask any update on the battery %?just asking He!He! and I know this is of topic but do you have any idea how to implement the dsp manager and long press backkey to exit application on stock rom and,I've tried many times it installs but with no effect on sounds output(dsp manager).this is the only reason I switch to froyomod(battery drainer) and MUIU(slow on long term use) and the long press back key to exit applications other than that I still like the stock rom with you theme mods.

The weird space around battery symbol in v1 is fixed by mattman83! Thanks Matt!
Flash via recovery and
Use them out of any warranty and at your own risk!
Important Notes
- Nandroid Backup first
- always download Original-Battery zip too (if something went wrong)
If you want to use Center_Clock mods:
- flash Center-Clock zip (e.g. ICS_Center_Clock_v1)
- reboot
- after reboot the icons in the statusbar will not appear
- open an application which will set an icon to the left corner of your statusbar .e.g. Airdroid or Terminal Emulator
- voila, your statusbar is back
- the icons will also appear when you receive a message
- you have to do this after each reboot, or when you restore a nandroid backup included Center-Clock_mod
... this way it works.
Right now I don't know how to fix this issue.

Sorry for that matt!
I used framework_res.apk and System.apk for decompile/compiling from my tiny_ics Version.
And this is just a stripped down Sandvold 0.2.1 build without any modificition on this two files.
The pictures above are screenshots from my device. I've tested every single flash file to be sure that they are working.
Maybe someone else with Sandvolds Rom can report back if he have the same issue...

And yeah I know the files in question are exactly the same, so it's really strange. I also run a modded version of sandvold (personal build) but I do not touch those 2 files - so shouldn't cause any issues.
Also - just a heads up - your images don't show for me, i don't think the host you've used doesnt allow embedding in other webpages or you're over the bandwidth limit or something. You probably don't see it because the images are cached on your computer.

Besides, I found the download links just fine with Chrome.

Hrm, really weird then.... I was thinking that certain recoveries were somehow having issues with it, but that's not it. I'm using 4EXT touch as well and it doesn't work for me. Given we all run the same rom, same hboot, same phone, etc etc i don't get how it doesn't work for some of us.

I also use 4ext. Flashed the 8 different mods around 10 times directly from the build in option in 4ext-app. Without wiping anything. Without any problems.
I really like to know what the problem causes.
Again, sorry for that guys!
Ladies & gentlemen,
this is for everyone, who still prefers froyo, because it is stable, mostly bug-free (exception: scroll-bug) and has a long battery-life.
I tried a few GB-roms and CM9, but they all have issues, so I reverted back to froyo.
The sad thing is: if you once tried ICS, Froyo looks very frumpy compared to it.
Froyo has not a Theme-Chooser, so I decided to pretty up some parts of the base-rom by myself.
It will not be a one-to-one ICS copy, but rather something similar.
I started with this Froyo 2.2.2 rom as base: Light-v2 by kpbotbot

Aha, thanks for reporting! I didn't noticed this yet.
There must be something wrong with the size of some png's. Maybe I will fix this in the next days.
Some other status bar icons also appear not correct (new gmail, calendar event)
will this work on all froyo roms? like lets say p509 stock?

To be honest, I'm not sure if it will.
If you want to try, do a nandroid backup first.
I don't believe you, that is not froyo, no way!

Damn! You caught me.
Update 01.b
Some icons replaced to display correct in the status bar.
See the updated first post.
Even tho this is just a theme, and I am not a fan, and I admit I will never try this ROM (real ICS is much cooler), it is nice to know people still use 2-year old absolete ROMs

Hello. There are 2 possibilities.
You rename the *.png to *.pro. Then open the APK in an archive manager (7zip, WinZip) and drag the file in there to replace the old one. With this workaround it is possible, that you will get a certificate error. See logcat if the app force closes. But in the most cases it will work.
Decompile the APK with your favourite tool. Then replace the *.pro files with *.png files without renaming. Take care of the *.9.png files, because in the decompiled apk the "9" is not visible. You will see them if you open the apk in 7zip. In the end you have to recompile the APK.
Hopefully I could help.

No issues with partitions flashing this rom? I remember some snags when the first builds were released.
Is this different with your modified version from komprado latest 4.4?

well, there is an option to check OTA, but I suggest not to update as this is modified and have some changes. also there is always recovery update script removed so when would you update from OTA you would loose your custom recovery
