Wifi connection - Legend General

Does anyone use andTorrent on his legend ?
I'm using it but i have noticed that the maximum speed is around 150kb/sec when i have the best wifi connection possible.
I also noticed that it drops the torrent-connection every minute.
Does somebody got a fix for this or an explanation for this error ? wifi or andTorrent ?

Have you updated ur ROM or using standard one? If you have updated ROM check the radio version is that recomended, this will have an impact on wifi, bluetooth, i/r etc.
If using standard, delete the settings on ur device. Also check ur router settings, sometime routers need turning off and on again.
good luck.
i haven't checked the rom. I just downloaded and upgraded. I'll take your advice. although the wifi router isn't really a problem since my Alpine is doing fine at 80- 85% signal bar. I really think it's the Prophet that has the problem.

WIFI drops when using it

Hi all,
I do not know whether someone got this problem. I got XDA Orbit 2 for the past week.
Wifi is ok when I am not using it. However it seems that when I use an application that uses WIFI continously WIFI just disconnects. I can notice this from the icon that is on top.
Will a change on my WIFI router channel have any effect on the drop?
Thanks

If you have wifi problems read this

I used to be so much angry against my wifi connection which lasted for a few minutes/seconds then droped out... I was about to return my legend but i read somewere a very good tip ,that's why i'm writting this post if it can help someone who has the same issue...
Download from the market an app called "Wifi Fixer" it's a background app that checks if you're still connected to the wifi and if no, it reconnects you automatically.
Thanks logoo, will try it on my Legend and report back!
Do you report any decrease in battery life since installing WiFi Fixer?
Yes the battery decreases a lot faster but WiFi is more for places like home or office no? ^^

Sent via the XDA Tapatalk App
Thanks
..great tip
Unfortunatly it does not work for me........
still losing wifi connection but this app is unable to re-establish it everytime.
My new Legend was working just fine until I did a factory reset.
Since then it loses the wifi connection every minute or so,
I have to turn the wifi off and on again for it to reconnect.
my Hero works just fine over the same access point.

[Q] wifi range

i have trouble to connect to wifi. have problem connecting to wifi where other phones, NB dont its just showing low signal... can someone hlp?? thx in advance
How many "bars" do you get when sitting right next to (3 feet/1 meter) a wireless router?
its full but when i go further like next room it drops to one bar and disconnects. thats my wifi at home and when i want to connect to someones wifi i have one bar where he has full ... would it work if i go to winodows mobile 7 or i checked forums and there is a way to enable 802,11n and it should fix the range of the wifi

looks like ur having the same problem as he is. check this thread and read thru post #5 to last.

+ check if you can get any BLUETOOTH connection (pairing)
if it fails...definately a loose cable issue as i mentioned in that thread.
BT is working perfect even in range where wifi makes problems so i dont think the cable is the problem. if im in one meter distance wifi get full bars but when i check the signal longer it drops to half and back to full. so when the signal is half or less it drops below range and the connection failes. can you tell me whats the max distance of the wifi in HTC HD2??? have the phone in warranty so will try that but dont think they accept this so trying to solve it my self...
depends on the router
is it possible to buy better wifi chip to my phone?
my router is D-link dsl 2641R

Wifi speed going down to 1mbps

Hi,
I have realized that my wifi connection drops down from more than 20 to only 1 Mbps with my lg g2. It happens with 2 routers and seems that if I reconnect the phone then I go back to more than 20 (and short later in goes down again). Any idea what can be?
No suggestions on this one? I tried the location services changes with no success. I would say it is some app causing issues, but no idea which one could be...

got exactly the same problem
switching wifi off an on solves the problem for 2 minutes or so. then it drops to 1mbps again. tried different routers.
I figured out that it only concerns internet traffic. LAN traffic remains at full speed.
WHO can help please? :cyclops:
hmmm. wonder if this is the same problem a lot nexus 5 owners have including me.. there's quite a big thread on it in n5 QA section
there's no fix but workaround solutions include running in 2g mode or turning off data when on WiFi and even making a script to do so automatically when entering WiFi areas.

thank you for that interesting link.
unfortunately the solution turning mobile data off didn't worked for me.
I also tried static IP instead of DHCP - no success.
one strange thing, as already mentioned: LAN traffic to my computer works perfectly with max speed. (copying files e.g.)
so, wifi works in principle. It's about internet traffic only.
but which kind of software/hardware is able to distinguish between internet- and local traffic?
