Infortunatly the cab will not install on WM5 Jamin or Dopod.
Any Idea why Not....?????

use WinCE CAB Manager to manipulate the install restrictions! I got working FlexMail 2007 which I can't firstly install under WM6 but after changing something in the CAB file I'll be able to install it!

1. I see some WM6 ROMs for Typhoon/Amadeus/Feeler in this forum.
Which one that I have to choose?

It will work, just that the music keypad MIGHT not work , till we find the lnk files which my friend is working on
Its pretty good. I have to say that I've flashed my Xphone IIm to WM6 and its par with the official rom. Its running smoothly and so far *knock on wood* there aren't any problems. Just keep in mind that you'll lose JAVA (Unless someone knows how to bring it back). Its far better then WM5. I suggest you to flash to WM5 , then start your upgrade from WM5. If you do that , its a safer route
This is my route for your information
WM2003SE --> WM5 ---> WM6
Just to be extra safe , do a hard reset (Just say Y to both of the questions during the bootup Clear <something something>. Then boot into boot loader and flash)

Did you try pasting the lnk files? If it still doesnt work, probably we need to dig out the keyboard dll from WM2003

how do i use the folder "keyboard.dll"? i thought keyboard.dll is supposed to be a single dll file and not a folder...

5 bumps without so much as even a search! I just searched google for h264.cab, ac3.arm.cab, and FlashvideoBundle 1.4.4. Every single cab file showed up first link. Does anyone even know how to search anymore?
It doest work, why dont you just try to use the build in youtube app that was posted here? The desktop youtube only works with some video because newer video were encode differently and it doesnt support flash 3.1 and to me it looks like Sh!t anyway. Just use the youtube application.

I do apologise, i did search however unlike you state the first link is not always a good one, many of the links were invalid. I have now downloaded the files and follwed the instuctions and it works through IE but not opera so im sticking with the youtube player which seems to work relatively well.

Hi guys im trying to customize my own rom by installing cabs from a base "lite" rom but I would really like to have bluetooth explorer / FTP but I cant find a working cab for polaris. I have done a search and downloaded some versions but none of them seem to work properly on polaris, If somebody could point me in the right direction it would be much appreciated. Thanks.

UpToDate is the medical textbook program. Inside there are a lot of files in HTM and JAR format. ( http://www.uptodate.com/home/index.html )
Most of custom ROMs out there do not let this program work. Only ship ROMS and Onkolog ROMs do.
I am not sure that it is about different opera and java program or not

In response to why UpToDate doesn't work in most ROMS, it is because Opera is the default browser. UpToDate works with pocket internet explorer only it seems. You have to make Pocket IE the default browser. This solved my problem with UpToDate. Hope this helps. There should be a cab file around. I believe it is called Fix IE or something like that, unfortunately I am unable to locate the link right now.

Unfornately, with the new IE6 thats has been added to the new custom ROMS, uptodate wont work, still looking for a fix to that, maybe the new version coming up, UpToDate 17.1 will work with the new IE..... if anybody has solved this problme, please contact me!!! thanks.

I have the same problem with energyrom 2.0.
Uptodate requires windows 5.0 or 6.0 according to their sites. I don't know why it wouldn't install on anything above it. It works fine on 6.0. On 6.1, however, I don't get errors but I can't read topics when I select them ... nothing is displayed.
I have the same problem too and would love someone to make a fix in a .cab format so we can just install it before installing UpToDate and it works. Or maybe explain us how to include that module in IE without cooking a new ROM?

I tested Dutty's 2.1 ROM on my HD and UpToDate 16.3 worked fine. above that: it won't work.
I am also trying to run UpToDate in my Elf with Onyx 5.0 Beta WM6.5 ROM, but no luck yet. Can anyone post the easier solution beside cooking rom
Personally, I don't use custom ROM as I don't to mess up uptodate.
Fix IE works as the Opera would no longer be launched if I tab on the table of contents. But there would be occas. crash.........................According to Uptodate, they have never tried uptodate on HTC machine and they only recommended not to use opera as default.
IE fix really helps a lot, near 95% OK in daily function.
i had absolutely no crashes at all with 16.3 version with ie fix and the new stock official ROM and i want that with the new custom roms with the new manilla and all the new features but i can not afford not to have a fully working pocketpc UpToDate.. also trying out 17.1 version seems pretty much as it was with the previous version as in no crashes - till now - .. and on a side note i havent tried IE Fix but i am doing something that does the same thing exactly in making ie is the default explorer by installing any version of opera to the storage card and then uninstalling it.
still waiting for a reply on how to squeeze in the missing IE module in new custom roms

Well ,as far as this problem is concerned, IMHO , why don't you all report this problem to Dutty (or any other cook) himself ? I guess they can guide you better than anyone else??
