Has anyone installed this yet? Is it any good?
I have the VF ROM which doesn't include MSN by default. I've managed to get the current version installed without having to pay (after all, why should I??) and can use it fine, but was wondering if it's worth taking it off to put this new version on?

It works fine on my Wizard, haven't tried on the Universal yet, it displays avatars, smileys, and links your messenger contacts into your address book. And it has the Windows Live Mobile apps too.
Other than that, it's just another app for messenger use, purely a personal choice.

How to install it on Sotrage card?
Tried to install it and it didnt ask where just went on its own to main memory. How to isntall it on SD?

No way yet zormic.. it's just a beta release after all.

Installed and works great, apart from it trying to connect to GPRS even when already connected via wifi. It doesn't display smilies either, at least for me. Apart from that, it's finally a version of MSN that doesn't look about 10years out of date!

I thought the CAB File can now be installed to the SD Card from the 1st post.

well sorry to have created a rackus here....but the cab i have will ask you where you woul like to install it but ultimately installs in the main memory...if u want it i can post it here

Released: 3 UK Ext ROM

Find attached the Extended ROM of 3 UK.
Dont think that it's incomplete due to the small size, u ll find out that it contains several cabs.
I m sure many will find it usefull.
BTW i m still waiting someone's reply on how to dump a rom. I already tried few things with the tools mentioned in wiki but i m not quite sure if i m doing this right. I will really apreciate a feedback on this. Pls feel free to PM me...

Umm this is a slightly modded version that does NOT remove the wireless section from the today screen as the original does, and adds a few freeware apps that I use every day. The apps being:
Tcpmp
Total Commander
PS Shut XP
HTC Xbutton
PHM Regedit
and RAR Archive manager.
This is still in the same format as the above (the files only) and not in .nbf format as I simply don't know how to dump it / compile it. So it's for unlocked extended roms only.
For a guide to cooking your unlocked extended rom have a lookee here
I am using this rom on top of an original O2 Exec rom not the QTec rom used by 3UK and it installs fine. So it should work with any universal variant.

I wish I could help with dumping the ROM too. I've been looking for the 3 ROM for months.

The 3 rom is a standard Qtek rom with the 3 bits n bobs added in the extended rom.
Basically you can use any WM5 (or 6 if you don't want videocall) of your choice and all the 3 stuff is in the extended roms above.
@Z£Y$ what version of Qtek rom is your 9000 using.

Ah, I didn't realise this.
I had gone back to the basic Qtek rom quite some time ago to sort out issues with the web connection dropping out all the time.
I still have issues with being unable to get to My3 with the E61 block. I think this is something to do with certificates. I have no idea how to solve this.

I've asked 3 if they can provide it. Don't hold your breath though.
I contacted them today, they said they would get back to me.

The reason for the E61 block page is because you are using a web browser, not a WAP browser to view the pages on 3. I found this out eventually on my old nokia E61. Sadly the Uni doesn't have a Wap browser. Please refer to This post here for Z£Y$ method of getting around that. Personally I use Opera for a browser so i don't get the problem. You could alway just click the services icon and viola you get past the E61 block.

Do you get all the services using opera? such as "today on 3" and access to all "services" such as mobile TV??? I was not able to do so with opera untill few minutes ago hence i decided to release a guide.

I had very lenghty discussions with 3UK and the outcome of the numerous callbacks is that Qtek 9000 is not compatible by 3UK to use planet3. So do not expect a solution by them. However there is a workarond as i m describing here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=341755

Thanks very much for the extended rom and for your guides, Z£Y$. It might finally be time to ditch my Orange sim and get a 3 contract sim I think!
Quick question though, as I don't know too much about the services 3 provides - are ALL the various services that are available on 3 working on the Universal with your guides/workarounds or are there still things that don't work 100%?

With regard to services I only really browse the 3 uk site to check what I owe and get the news etc so yes today on 3 does work. I haven't used the Mobile TV so cant comment on that. Opera is fine for doing that. I usually go in on mobile.three.co.uk and it automatically redirects me without the E61 block page.
With regards your fix for the streaming media most of the files for getting it to work should already be in WM5. If you like I can add the rest into the Extended Rom and have that do the registry change as well, so when you first setup and the customisation is performed it's all done for you. No fuss no hassle then.
If you want it, give me a day or 2 as it's a bit manic here today.

Yes m8 if we can add the procedure i.e registry fixes and files to the Ext ROM will be excellent. I m gonna give this a go myself as well if i have some time... BTW HTC streaming media is not included in my wm5.

Ok peeps, I would have had the streaming tv ext rom sorted by now, however I am having problrms putting the coredll.dll file into a .cab file for the extended rom. It's sending my PC into a 100% CPU loop. Everything else packs up ok, it's just this little monster that's giving me a headache.
Bear with me on this I will sort it.

m8 one thing to consider is that these dll files for the streaming media need only to be ADDED if missing. In my case i added only few of them and ignored the rest without to overwrite the existing ones. So if you ll make a cab file it will install all of them rather than installing only the missing ones .....correct me if i m wrong.
Ideally during instalation u should be promted about the existing dll files.

I appreciate that mate. However what we have to consider is the varying configurations for user installations. I can set a .cab file for "if exists = skip install" on files which will bypass on install if the file is alrady present.
It's just that I cannot get this bloody file into a .cab file....
It's annoying me now. Been trying all night. GRRRRRR!

Did anyone get Flash 7 to work with the Diamond Opera 9.5?

This has been asked in that other Diamond Opera 9.5 thread by like 3 different people. One person claimed to get Youtube type sites working just fine by simply installing Flash 7, but I tried this on my Touch and I still get the same message that a Flash player needs to be installed to play videos on this site.
Since so many have asked, and since someone claimed to get it working but without really telling us how, I figured it may be prudent to open this thread so maybe we can focus on this problem instead of what is mainly discussed in the other thread (how to install on the storage card).
So...for anyone that got flash working on Opera Mobile 9.5, how'd you do it?

For the reason I stated above, a lot of people have been asking the same question in the Diamond Opera 9.5 Mobile thread, but people seem to focus more on how to get it to work on the Storage card, not the Flash issue.

no its not the storage card issue that we should be conderned about. I AM more concerned on how to install opera with out a cab file just like build 405, which i am using. the reason is you can transfer the 6 mb opra exe file and its almost the same as installing it into the sd card. in fact, some install sd cabs install just the cache and leave the 6 mb file somewhere in the /windows file, which will anihalate your pdaif you dont have enough memory.
anywasy, someone, help this guy here, i mean... help us, we have the same problem.
i repeat, I want to manually install the files (cache etc.) into the proper path then use opera frm the storage card just like build 405.

Yeah - What he said! Honestly, there have been many who haved claimed they got flash to work but nobody is willing - or able - to let the rest of us in on it. It really is a simple request but seems to get ignored.
Opera 9.5 is nice but it is very similar to opera mini with no flash and if that is the case I prefer mini.
So, please introduce the rest of the class to flash 101!

I might try it when I have time, but since Flash 9 is being used everywhere, Flash 7 is kinda pointless

I didnt think it would work, but i started up youtube and videos played right in opera 9.5 build 1184! I'm running NFSFAN's custom bell rom (1.05) so he must have flash installed already (i didnt install it). However the video playback is so slow that it really isn't at all worthwhile.

Which Java VM..?

Hi all..! I have a euro niki 100, and just upgraded to Windows mobile 6.1 using the official rom update from HTC.. Speeds etc is better with 6.1..
However, i've encountered one minor issue with this upgrade.. It ships with Esmertec Jbed. And I guess this particular build doesn't play nice with Opera Mini.
The included build (i guess in the rom upgrade) is build 20080131. Opera Mini does work, however, the workarounds for getting it to work as signed (without the annoying nag screens) don't seem to work for me anymore. I think the old Java Vm version is the culprit. Is this version update-able..? I mean, i can't remove the current version using add/remove programs on the device.. Or is there a better Java VM out there, which would allow me to run, say Nokia s60 games aswell..? (read something about that aswell..) Some pointers please..? TIA

Well, at least i have it fixed with the Esmertec jbed version that's in the default wm 6.1 update.
The workaround thats posted everywhere (edit the selector.utf file) doesn't seem to work (anymore?) because another file is missing (either in WM6.1 or in the newer version of Opera Mini, i don't know, would guess the latter..)
Anways, the solution to this "problem" is almost the same as in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=380504
In short; edit the selector.utf file as mentioned in the thread.. You should be able to find it in the \Windows\appdb directory on your device. Then, and this differs from the thread mentioned before, don't create or look for a JavaDb folder in your \Application Data directory, cause it doesn't exist. Instead, place the posted policy.utf file in the \Windows\appdb directory for the selector.utf fix to work. Kinda stupid i didn't try this before, but the search on XDA din't help me out there either so..
Now to see how Java games run on this Esmertec Jbed client..

NOTE-2 Although at some HTC Diamond, it was reported that with some small bugs, it is working. But for me with Official ROM Ver 1.35 NOT WORKED
Without any problem, I was able to install. But after then, When I try to start to program from "Programs / Multimedia/ Footprint" I get the following error message
"The file 'HTCFootprint.exe' cannot be opened. Either it is not signed with a trusted certificate, or one of its components cannot be found. If the problem persists, try reinstalling or restoring this file."
NOTE-3 If you have enough space at your STORAGE, you can try and see if it works for you. Do not worry, UNINSTALL is working perfect, At least works for me
But please do not forget that **INSTALL AT YOUR OWN RISK, AS STATED BELOW IT HAS BUGS STILL**

This version of Footprint is based on.......HTC_Footprint_1.01822.3925 (This is the 2D Manilla version, but will work with TF3D)
I have done some modifications to make this work on my Fuze, but it should work just fine on the Touch Pro, or Diamond. Currently this version does NOT have the "Footprint Tab" on the home screen. I don't have lots of time on my hands so bear with me on updates. If anyone wishes to step in and modify it more, its all yours.
