I have been writing android programs for a while now, and I have decided to make a remote controller to control fooobar2000. I used to have one working which just ran command line arguments, but most of these are no longer supported (after foobar2000 version 0.8 something). I have checked out the foo_upnp plugin, which seems to work nice with some android apps (e.g. Andromote). The problem is, I cant seem to find any information on how to actually implement the remote controlling in the source code.
Does anyone know where to start looking?
I have already tried Google without satisfying results.

Does anyone know how I can host Today plugins in my own programs like PPX and WDA do?
What kind of code would be required?
EDIT: I don't need to know how to write today plugins, but how to host the plugin component within my own applications, emulating the Today screen.

Not sure if this is what you want. You can write it in either of the embedded languages, but if you want to use C# and the .Net Compact Framework this tells you how
I haven't used it because I haven't got around to reinstalling eVb which is needed to build the supplied code.

But, I don't need to know how to write a today plugin, but to host them like the Today screen does, eg SideX, WDA and PPX do.

Working on so many today plugins right now, I've found I'm >literally< thinking about them in my sleep. Frankly, even I'm getting worried!
But, the question still stands, anyone know how to host a today plugin in my own window? I think I need to interface into them etc (are they COM objects?), but I've no idea where to start looking to learn that kind of hackery...

I have a HTPC (without a mouse or kb) plugged into my TV, and while I have a remote (IMON 2.4G DT) the mouse control isn't too great. What I would like to do is use my Wizard as an input device, primarily for the mouse but probably also for keyboard
I thought Total Input sounded promising, but I have two issues with that:
1. 'Server is unreachable' - which presumably is just a matter of configuration of the network, and hopefully I should be able to sort that, and
2. (and this is the bit I really need help with) TI requires the NET Framework 1.1, a consequence of which is the PC can no longer boot straight into the default desktop, but now stops at the 'Select a user' screen.... where you click WITH A MOUSE which user you want to log on as
So, my question is, does anyone have any novel solutions or can suggest a piece of software that will alow me to do what I want?
I really don't want another mouse and keyboard cluttering up the living room, and to be able to use the Wizard as the input device would be really handy.
You can fix that login issue by Clicking 'Start' > 'Run'
Then type "Control userpasswords2" (without quots)
Then set the default user

Hi all,
I joined the forum because I'm looking to design a PC application using Visual Studio 2005 that will connect to most phones and allow you to send/receive SMS, manage contacts, perhaps even use any onboard camera as a webcam.
I'm an experienced programmer, but know little about the architecture on the Andes, which is my testbed.
Basically, all I need to get started on the basics is how to communicate with the device using a serial connection (Not in debug mode though!), or the best way to accomplish this if not bluetooth.
Any/all help appreciated. I'm not looking for code just a procedure to establish a serial link that'll allow me to issue commands to the device whilst its in its usual turned on and usable state, or docked. However if you think it'll help please feel free.

Ok, to clarify, I'm looking for a framework for a windows application that will enable me to connect to a smartphone, and control it. From what I can tell from the above site, the Opennetcf libraries are for a device application... I've installed the free version of the libraries and they work find under the emulator, but that's not really what I'm after...

I currently discovered that I am unable to connect. I have already found a similar project that stopped because of the same problem!
I have read that the problem is the missing HID/S2CAP support of 32feet.net
The other software uses BlueTools so there may be the same problem!.
Does anyone know something that allows me to connect to my wiimote?! Maybe some SDK with HID/S2CAP support?!

I was looking at doing this at one point. The HD2 with its Widcomm bluetooth stack supports BT HID, and the later WM6.5.X builds have Bth_HID in the SYS.
Pairing doesn't get you very far though. I found some C++ code for using the Wiimotes, but I haven't transfered it yet.

The Bluetooth Stack of the HD2 seems to be a little bit buggy:
If I try to use a Bluetooth chat, it just works from my HD2 to my Kaiser, not the other way round. It is as my HD2 blocks all incoming Bluetooth connections
Any idea?

It would be nice if other HD2 users could test it(You will need the HD2 and another WinMob Phone with a Widcomm Stack). Please always post the Roms of the devices, especailly the HD2's.
If it is only occurs on some ROMS, it would be fine, so I will do a Rom upgrade for further testing

Kaiser - Custom Rom WinMob 6.5
Message HD2 to Kaiser: Works fine, but takes a second.
Message Kaiser to HD2: Connection error, no message!

I'm also looking for a solution for that.
As I had similar problems with my Notebook (Widcomm-BT-Stack), I could solve it with a different BT stack. But I don't want to part with the Widcomm on my HD2.
I think the main problem is that the OK softbutton is disabled as long as there is no passcode in the inputbox. It only gets enabled if you enter somthing, which would never match up with the empty passcode of the WiiMote (somthing <> nothing ;-).
If the OK softbutton was enabled even with empty passcode box, the codeless pairing might actually work.
Is there anybody capable of unlocking this OK button?

The problem is that the WM Devices misses a special HID driver . You may connect it with out a passcode with some tricks but this won't help because you cannot connect to the device
Look at this Symbian project http://www.symbianresources.com/projects/wiirider.php - maybe that will help. I got the same problem like everybody - can't pair device :s
We cannot connect the WiMote low-level easily, that is the big problem. If we could it would be easy.

There is a way to connect to the Wii Remote with a WM 6 device.
The driver you want to look for should come with WM 5 and 6 devices. It has the prefix "BHI" it is not meant for production use, and it somewhat bare-bones, however you can successfully connect to the Wii Remote with it.
The registry path for this driver is:
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Bluetooth\Hid\Hid_Class
and
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Bluetooth\Hid\Instance
If you activate these drivers using the Win32 ActivateDeviceEx command (upon hard reset you don't have to do this), you should be able to open up a file stream to the driver.

Just replace the wii_addr with your Wii Remote's Bluetooth address.

"bthhid.cxx source code" it should be the first link.
The set of APIs it provides is minimal, and I was not able to get any other function to work besides HIDConnect.
I'm still working on getting some sort of data from it.

Unfortunately, I can't post the link due to spam restrictions (I just joined the forums recently). However, I have attached the folder that includes all the source files with this post.
This folder comes with Windows CE Platform Builder. It is located here (if you have Platform Builder installed):
C:\WINCE500\PRIVATE\WINCEOS\COMM\BLUETOOTH\PROFILES\HID
If you navigate to the BASE folder, you will find bthid.cpp. This is the main source that contains the stream driver implementation.
The main section of this file to examine is around line 2500 on down. These are the functions that are exposed when you create a file handle to the driver.

I was working on it yesterday with a bit of disappointment. Did anyone make this work yet?
I tried to do this with FreePIE, vJoy and X360CE.
I used X360CE to emulate an Xbox 360 Controller, since streaming should work with these. I hoped to be able to control streaming this way, but I don't know where to put the generated xinput1_3.dll. I was able to open the folder where the XboxApp.exe is, but I don't have write access there. Replacing xinput1_3.dll in system32 didn't help either. Somehow after some hours my FreePIE script stopped working, but that's an issue that I'll need to workaround later.
What I did so far:
- Writing a FreePIE script, that translates keyboard input to vJoy (controls for Minecraft, but can be easily changed)
- Configuring X360CE to understand vJoy (the easiest task)
If there is any interest in this, I can post Links and my script later.
Any ideas where I did go wrong? Anybody found a hint, where the Xbox App gets the inputs from? Does it even use Xinput or will we need to dig somewhere else?

Hey have you made any progress on this?! I've been trying to do the exact same thing. I want to use my keyboard and mouse to control the xbox one while streaming.
Ever make any progress on this? I tried something similar myself but couldn't get it to recognize any virtual controller. Anyone have any ideas?
