Click x to end an app not hide it - HD2 General

Sorry but i've been told there is a setting but can't find it! Can anyone help???

It's not a setting - it's an application that HTC made, but left off the HD2 for whatever reason.
You can download TouchX Taskmanager here...

Did you remember to do the bit about dragging your files onto the Unsigner app? TF3d isn't available on my HD after doing a change until I do that step

Use the latest version of SSMaPa, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=447481&highlight=ssmapa. It will do the unsigining function for you. I have iContact and PocketInformant running as replacement just fine.
I just completed this process 20 mins ago. I think the alphs 0.2.2.2 is the latest released 11/19/08. But I'm pretty sure its the same in respect to the automatic unsigning.
Now its linked to Pocketinformant ..... Niiiicccceee.
Oh.. do a search in This thread for "TF3d Customizer". Thats the name of the thread. I think its on page 10 or 11 right now.
Second post, the person gives a really good detail how to link this.

just downloaded, many thanks friend!
Is there away to map TF3D "All People" to Pocket Informant--contacts? Is it the same path as the Calendar?
I successfully mapped the calendar to a specific view in PI8. But I dont know if it will work with the contacts. It seems like once you apply this patch, if it dont work then you are messed up and have to HARD RESET.
If it does work, do "Menu" work in TF3D?

Where can I get HTC software that originally came with my device :P?

I have an HTC vogue, with a blank WM6.5 rom on it. I don't want to use a custom one, or brew my own, I like this ROM.
I do, however want the HTC software that originally came with my device (such as the audio manager, camera application, bluetooth manager, comm manager). I have no idea where to get these things. Can someone point me in the right direction ?

I know that generally speaking that software is usually bundled in with the ROM. very few of the HTC apps are available in .cab format. personally i would suggest checking out the ROM's that NFSFAN has cooked up. LOVED his WM 6.1 and 6.5 ROM's before i headed to the Android side of things. Hope this helps!
do some searching on here and ppcgeeks, i know ive seen them before.

Taskmanagement on HD2?

When I start a program on the HD2 it stays active untill I go to Setting - Other - Taskmanagement and deactivate all.
On my previous HD I had a setting where I could choose to deactivate the program when I choose the [x] on the upperright of the screen. Now there is no possibility to do such a thing and to go to [Setting]-[Other]-[Taskmanagement] each time is not my prefered way of working...
Does anyone knows how to do this on HD2?
Thanks!
I think there should be a taskmaneger settings where you can set on "x" button to close programs not just minimalize. I had it in my TP2 with leo rom i think.
nope, there isnt one.
you need to use the taskmanager
install Showcase, that is similar app... tha press and hold right upper corner...
showcase works great. thnx
not as handy as the quick menu like the HD but this works fine for me

What version are you using?
Showcase did not work on my HD2.
Leo (HD2) comes without HTC Task Manager and this is why you don't have the option to close apps by using "X"
You can install the HTC Task Manager by cab and you will get this functionality.
^where do I get the cab miri?

Are there any performance issues, when installing the HTC Task Manager?
Or what is the reason, why it comes without it?
Because HTC did it again...
A wonderfull phone with a Beta ROM (GPS Lag, No TaskMannager button, No Owner Info to register your Apps, No real Multitouch,...)...

if you mean navigation,
i use garmin. with all the extras on it,
gps fix is made within in a minute.
with my hd1 it took like 2 or 3 minutes before i've got a fix
I don't know the reason and don't see it causing problems. I'm using it on my ROMs and there are no problems with it.
Probably because HD2 has bigger RAM HTC has thought that it's better to leave apps open on the phone...this way they open faster
I don't have the cab, but you can search on the forums.

If you don't like Showcase, or for whatever other reason, another option is MobileSRC's Flipper (http://www.mobilesrc.com/flipper.aspx). It's got other features besides a task manager (you need to purchase the app if you want to use more than two features at a time), but I've found it works perfectly well as a free task manager.
I don't know how it'll work with the HD2, though, as I'm still waiting mine to arrive, but the app works fine with my TP2.
It's weird that HTC removed the Task Manager. Ok it's a "beast" and can run lots of apps at the same time, but the task manager was a nice way to close apps we don't want open.
This should work.

excellent, I cannot imagine not have a little 'X' to close programs...

HTC Sense and WM Today

Can both HTC Sense and WM Today pages coexist similar to the way SPB Shell works by have the Today page in the background?
There was a program called "TouchFlo Detacher" that I used on my Touch HD. Now I know this won't work with Sense, as it's designed to work with TouchFlo, but I'd imagine that it would be a simple change to put in the relevant class names for the Sense UI.
It replaced one of your softkeys with a toggle button so you could flip between TouchFlo and Today, and it was VERY fast! (It didn't close and later re-open TouchFlo - it simply hides it as Today is always in the background.)
Have a search for TouchFlo Detacher and ask the author if he'd be interested. He may ask you to beta test it for him
Edit:
Here you go - I found it for you...

Looks good, but I personally don't like MortScript, so would rather a windows app, like the above-mentioned one.
I just recently installed M2D on my LG Incite and installed the communcations cab thing and got it to work but, after I had to hard reset and now I cannot figure out how to get the communcations tab to start working again. I dowloaded it onto my phone and just can find the icon under programs where it was before. Any help? Thanks!

HTC Task Manager for X2? Sounds like a great idea.

Or perhaps somehow somebody can get the original X2 task manager working again..
Has anyone tried porting the HTC task manager and skinning it like the X2? Just an idea =D
