Verizon sucks (Incredible backordered) - Droid Incredible General

I placed an order for the Incredible last week with Verizon. Expecting to receive it the NEXT day, I waited 2 days, the weekend, and all of Monday for this thing since you have to sign for the package. I finally call Verizon...
"Thank you for calling Verizon wireless, home of the HTC Incredible, how can I help you?"
Come to find out they are all on back order until June. Not once did they communicate this to me and I found it to be quite annoying. How are you going to put up advertisements all over and even answer your phone "home of the Incredible," but not even have the damn phone available?

Its not Verizon's fault HTC cant manufacture enough because of the limited about of amoled displays coming from samsung. This phone is sold out everywhere.

I tried Verizon, they were out. I tried online, they were all backordered. I tried Best Buy...found one 35 minutes away that had 4 in stock. I got it through them for $200, same as it would have been through Verizon but the rebate was instant. I am not usually a fan of BB but this time I was happy to purchase from them!

I find it hard to believe you ordered it last week and never saw/received a warning about being backordered, as it's been on backorder for a while now.

There are component shortages, believe me, Verizon would love to have them in stock because they're making less money with people not wanting to backorder, which increases the chance they'll buy the EVO or wait for iPhone4.

regardless of what you think, the same thing happened to me. i was assured by customer service that the phone was only out of stock in the store. they said they had plenty in the 'warehouse' but it was only when I ordered the phone with overnight shipping that I found out it truly was on backorder when it didn't show up the next day

cant bc Verizon is doing me a favor by letting me upgrade early. I was havin issues with my tp2

i pre-ordered mine on 4/25, thank god i got it on 29th ^^

I bought mine on May 10th and at the time all of the Verizon Dealers were already sold out, I found three Best Buy in my local area that had at least one. The one I went to had 3 in stock.

I believe they have been on backorder for sometime now. People seem to hear what they wanna hear when purchasing a new toy

That's what the site said when I ordered mine on the 9th. I hope I get mine before then. They already billed me!

anything changing for people with when you're getting your phones? Anyone order thier phone on the 13th and have any specific information? All Verizon's CSR's keep saying is "6/1 blah blah blah"

I ordered mine on the 14th and its supposed to get here around 6/1 to, so i wouldn't expect it any sooner, but be happy if it comes early

I just opened an email that said mine has shipped. When I checked the tracking number on FedEx, I read they sent it Priority Overnight... but it's not expected to be here until Monday.
I hope it somehow shows up tomorrow so I'll have time to play with it before the work week starts. And wouldn't ya know it, I have a staff meeting on Monday and can't be here to sign for it. haha

Have been severely mucked about by vodafone and no one else has the phone.
Voda told me my order last Friday would be here monday.
On monday they told me wednesday
on Tuesday morning they said Friday
on Tuesday afternoon they said "oh sorry mid december"

not a happy camper. mobilesdirect are out of stock and no one else in the UK seems to have the phone.

Exactly the same situation here. Placed order on Sunday, they failed to call me back on the Monday when 1000 units came into them, so I never got one of those, so i was advised to place my order online as more expected Friday and I did, now got an email saying early December. Called Voda who were very apologetic and if I can wait till the 12th then they will compensate me as I should have had my phone by now.

This phone has been a lot more popular than Vodafone thought it would be.
Apparently people stayed away from the HTC Magic when it came out because they hadn't heard of HTC.
Don't think we can blame them for everything. I hope you get one soon mate! Vodafone are usually pretty good with fixing problems. Especially when they create them!
Same problem with voda here, on top of that I enquired as what would happen with my number transfer (my pac expires 12 December) in case they can't deliver a phone by then, they told me they had no record of my pac/number to be transfered... ooops must have fallen into a black hole then lol.
Not bothered about waiting but very annoyed about not being informed about delays before ordering and the fact that they did the credit check straight away...
Sent a lovely email to the UK CEO (yes, I can be polite and explain things clearly when I want to lol). I've just got a reply from him (about 1 hour after I sent it) apologising for letting me down and saying he'll get someone from his office to call me to "see how we straighten this out"

I admit I was impressed. I thought it'd take a few days to get a reply and that I'd just get a standard apology penned by the PR people. No idea how long till I get the call though but will keep you informed.
Some Vodaphone stores had stock in, looked at one in Taunton and Weston super Mare had stock. Would only do 24 month contract though so decided to wait.

Will do though I can't really see how they'd get me a phone if they can't get stock from HTC before December. Still, I'm hoping that at the very least my account will get a note along the lines of "do not mess up, the stupid cow will complain to the ceo" .

I Phoned tmobile yesterday and was told the hd2 is in stock but only on a 18 month contract. Vodafone tell me they have sold all there stock over the weekend and will not be getting more until the 27th of nov. Vodafone are not listing 12 month contracts but if you phone them and ask they will offer one. I Just cant wait until the 27th.

Me and many others with outstanding orders got this email from Vodafone:
"We have received unprecedented demand for the HTC HD2, and due to shortages from the manufacturer – we are experiencing slight delays in receiving your handset. We are doing everything we can to obtain further stock and will be the first to receive the next deliveries. Currently we expect these to arrive early in December."
That's a funny definition of slight delays Not sure where the 27th November date they've given you is coming from.

I couldn't get them to offer anything shorter than 18 months, so if 12 months is what you're after you may just want to order before they change their mind again
12 month contracts are very rare in premium mobiles these days. Given the lowest possible monthly amount is around £35 and premium phones are around £500 or so, the companies only get £420 out of you.
However, on an 18 month contract at minimum of £35 they get around £630 from you. At least this pays for phone.
As for stock, I would have hoped they could have had more in before the start of December. Must be because the phone has probably been more popular than HTC imagined it would be.

Anyone Pre-Order from Rogers?

Just a question for all of those people who pre-ordered online at Rogers.com. When you finish pre-ordering, you should have gotten a confirmation email. Did you get any other emails like a shipping with a tracking number?
I got the confirmation email and that's it. I was just wondering if others is the same as me.

Yeah I preordered on april 6. Got a confirmation number in an email right away. I called today and so far no tracking numbers are available. I am waiting till dinner time and Im going to try again. I just want this phone so bad
How did you order it? Every time I try to port my number from Fido it gives me an error. Rogers gives me some BS on the phone and I give up. I think they are goign to show up in the stores on Friday but noone knows. Total bloody incompetence with Rogers once again.

Im adding a line instead of porting over (and keeping the second line to shorten the time between upgrades) but a rep told me you could preorder now and finish up the port after you get the phone. BUT beware Rogers reps are full of bs and you will get different answers everytime you call.

What?? If I get it after the 15th I am going to s**t bricks. And people are dissappointed with SE's delays. Its seems like a match made in heaven SE and Rogers lol.
PS: did you see the fine print? Your going to have to wait an additional 2-4 weeks for delivery of the headset.

Yea well HOPEFULLY we all get it ON or BEFORE the 15th. Anyday after that would be stupid. The Rogers stores will probably have it on the 15th since I read some article stating that the phone is shipping to stores. If that's the case, that means even though we preordered, we won't be the first ones to get it =(

I talked to a store today in Calgary here that had a rep in at the time and they said the phones were in shipment right now to the stores for Friday (as stated before). I would rather order it online for the headset but am worried about a delay. You would think you would get it SOONER that way, especially considering they said order it by the 9th for delivery on the 12th LOL. Oh Rogers.

But yea.. I guess the idea of pre-ordering is so that you WILL get it on launch day at least.

Haha, this is good ... for me at least ... i'll have time to decide if is worth to pay 550 + tax to get it.
So I just spoke with a supervisor and he said that he promised me it would be in my hands by this friday. I asked him why I would preorder just so I could get it after everyone else. He responded that for preordering we are getting a $10 activation credit and the headset for free and locking in a "supposedly" better price. And they also said I would get emailed a tracking number as soon as its available. Got my fingers crossed it comes this week!

Here in Ohio no better, Went to best buy with my buddy, was quoted as Evo shippment tomorrow and now it's been moved to a nice lovely ambiguous "sometime from wednesday to friday" Here's hoping sooner rather than later but oh well. Here's hoping we can survive the great evo shortage of 2010! (*side note* kinda regretting not pre-ordering sooner, I was 8 people into the 2nd batch forcing me to wait an extra week. BAH!)

Decided to give in and pick one of these up yesterday. Couldnt find one in stock anywhere. This morning I was prepared to call every Radio Shack in the area. The 1st one I called said someone just took themselves off the list and that they had one available. I put my name on it, and picked it up 20 minutes later.
I have 2 friends that got theirs this same way. I did pre order one for my girlfriend though while I was there and she will be getting it on Friday.
I just got mine today and I had to call 8 or so sprint stores to find one in stock, ends up the store I got mine at had 10 in stock still from the first shipment and they had given a lot of their first order of 300 to other area stores. Once I got there it took them about 2 and a half hours to activate the flippin thing, my voice and 4g connected but my 3g never came up, took them forever to sort it out. They actually had to activate two evos to figure the problem out. I got 2 boxes and goodies out of the deal though, I am in the kc area too.
Which Sprint store was this? Im also in the KC area and have a few friends wondering if anyone has them in stock. Sounds like that store may be worth a shot.

i ordered mine online last night at 11pm central time and it was available waiting for it to come now ughhhh!!!!! all i have been doing is making lists of apps and what i want to try (been a windows mobile guy since the tilt days currently have a HTC Touch Pro 2 unlocked gotta sell that once my EVO comes in cant wait
Which Sprint store was this? Im also in the KC area and have a few friends wondering if anyone has them in stock. Sounds like that store may be worth a shot.

I scooped mine up from the studio Sprint store, downtown in the power and light district, like 14th and grand, also I got a call from the Sprint store that I was on a waiting list at and they had one for me, i was number 15 I believe.

I was going to order it online last night and then dumb me second guessed myself and decided to see if i could get lucky in a store today. Now I realize that was a very stupid idea.
how are some of you getting overnight delivery; i placed my order around 12pm PST yesterday and i still haven't received a delivery notification or any updates; it still says waiting in the warehouse for processing; this is annoying me since it's supposed to be overnight delivery

I'm corporate so I have to go through my Sprint rep (can't get one through a local store), ordered it a week ago today and still no word.
Same here.. but i got on the in-store list as well. My hope is that the wait is due to manufacturing changes and I get a device without all the shortcomings of the earlier devices.

I'm waiting for it to be in stock so I can get a replacement evo because of the back light leaking issue I call n it's out of stock every time they said as soon as it goes in stock I can get a replace ment no questions asked
Yeah, but in the meantime they should be knocking out some with the old config (the changes aren't that critical) !!!!! If they wait any longer, the moto x, iphone 4, etc are going to kill their sales numbers. Time is money... hurry up HTC and Sprint!!!!!!

I was on a waiting list at one of the Sprint retail kisoks in one of our malls for an Evo for my dad and I was going to bring him and my mom to my family plan. I called a week and a half ago and got on the list and then I called saturday (8 days later) and they said they'd call me back later that day, I waited 3 hours and they said they were still seeing if they could work something out. I took my parents out to lunch and they place they picked was over near the mall so I decided we should stop by after lunch and see where I was on the list and figure things out. We stopped by and I asked where I was on the list and I was still on the second page. I then said "We are here, you can either call 20 people back on the list today and maybe get one, or you could sell me one right now while we're here. He considered it a second and then said "Ok, I can do that". My mom had though about getting one as well and after she heard him say that she chimed in with "get one for me too". And he did and we walked out 30 min later all set. Just have to realize that they are there to sell phones, so if you find the right guys and show them cash they're much more motivated.

I ordered from http://shopamerica.htc.com/homebrands/index.htm because on their website, it said they were in stock, so I placed the order that day (FRIDAY), WAS APPROVED NEXT DAY, AND SAID IT WAS READY TO SHIP. It showed my estimated delivery date. Said it would be shipped out Tues (tomorrow) and would arrive Weds since I chose overnight.
I check the status of my order today and to my surprise there is a new tab that says BACK ORDERED. I was pissed off! I called up customer care immediately asking why did they say it was in stock on their website, then all of a sudden today, it says its on back order. The rep told me that "THEY MUST'VE FORGOT TO REMOVE IT FROM THEIR SYSTEM." I'm like wtf kinda bull**** is that? I didn't get any notification, no phone call, no email. I had to find out by checking online. Very unprofessional.
I asked her when I would receive my phone and she told me they would be getting them in stock on Friday the 25th. So I said fine and hung up. Called back up a couple hours later because I initially forgot to ask when I would ACTUALLY RECEIVE IT. Gave the person my info and he then tells me that I wont receive my phone until JULY 1ST. You can only imagine how much more pissed off I was. I told him what the previous rep told me, then he said the earliest you are going to receive your phone is July 1st. I asked him about cancelling my order and he told me it would take 3-5 business days. Then I told him, you can automatically debit my account the day I make purchase, but it would take almost a full week to get refunded? Told him i'd think about cancellign and i'd call him when i've reached a decision.
How can one rep tell me one date, then another rep give me another? That is so rediculous. If I DO NOT receive my phone by the 1st, i'm definately cancelling my order and sticking with T-Mobile. This is rediculous...

On a corporate/business/enterprise account, you can definitely walk into a Sprint store and walk out with anything in there, as long as you are a POC on the account.
HOWEVER...
There's a catch: most sprint stores are privately owned, so any hardware in there has been purchased by the owner from Sprint. Result: the discounts you can get through your rep are unavailable to you in the store, so your account gets charged whatever the store charges, as opposed to the discounted rates for hardware through your rep.
Lolz i picked mine up on the 8th the day i decided i wanted one and sold my iphone. call around to every little place that has them, they might just have 1 more just for you

Sigh...this waiting game is worse than Christmas Eve. I've been on the waiting list with my Sprint store for almost 2 weeks.

Now that I'm trying to get it exchanged/replaced I called around and found that every Sprint store is sold out but the first 'Mobile Best Buy' (it's a cart in the mall, lolololol) I got a number for, had over ten in stock. Too bad they're still broken so there isn't a point going through the trouble of exchanging it yet.

Actually the Best Buy near me had 4 of them. There are only 2 problems with that:
1) I am buying at full retail price and Best Buy's cost is $499 and they will not price match for non-activated prices.
2) If HTC stopped production to fix some issues then it makes good sense to wait until production starts back up again.
The problem is that I am really impatient!
3 of ours are from spint.com, but sprint 1800 said that I had to wait until sprint.com got more in before I could exchange them, which they haven't gotten any in recently.
They need to hurry up, because at this rate the samsung galaxy s pro is going to be out.
Caught between MIR deadline and 30-day return?
My employer has a sweet deal on the Evo - so I ordered through them on 6/26 - even though it involves the dreaded mail-in rebate. Of course, I'm on backorder. I noticed though, that the MIR form insists that the receipt must show it was purchased by July 10 to be eligible for the MIR. I suspect this is also the date when the 30-day return clock begins. What if the delays are long, and it goes past that date? Does my cost go up $100 due to the problems with their supply chain? If it goes by the date ordered - then is my 30-day return period reduced to nothing?
I'm betting all the new Evos will ship with the new OTA update that breaks root. HTC's big **** you to the community for trying to fix their problems.

The .6 update didn't break root.
And there have been plenty of updates on other devices that haven't been cracked. Go look at the Hero forum...

Bestbuy releasing early?

Left my local bestbuy last night and a couple blueshirts there told me that they would be releasing the S7 and S7 Edge this Monday. I was pre-ordering and asked when it came out and they told me I could pick it up on monday.
So if you preordered from bestbuy i'd recommend calling them and seeing if they are also releasing it early.
I don't know how truthful BestBuy is. I got my pre-ordered T-Mobile S7 on the 3rd of March and was told by my local BestBuy store that they had the Otterbox cases in stock for the S7. So I drive over to the store and find out that they have the cases in stock but won't be releasing them until the 11th of March because that's when the phones will be released. I will NOT be going back to BestBuy again!

I bought a surround sound system from them a month ago. He told me i was gonna get a discount and hed hook me up with an hdmi and optical cable. Then he was tryin to talk me into joinin their "rewards program" it was like every $100 you get a dollar or something. I was like, "it'd take me so long, im good" but i bought a tv a couple months before so he said i could get credit for that aswell. So finally i said, "well, your not gonna send me a bunch of emails if i sign up are you". He said, " haha noooooo"!
Long story kinda shortened.
I paid full price for the SS system.
I got a wopping $5 off a used hdmi cable. Which was $20
Paid full price for optical audio cable $25
Then at the end i said oh can we add my tv to the rewards program. (Of course the salesman left so i was left with some kid to check me out)
He said, "oh man we'd have to call customer service and i dont think theyd do it anyway"

Fine.......
The following weeks im flooded with best buy emails, i unsubscribe at least 10 times with no stop to it. Finally have to call a 800 number and scream at them to make it stop.
Yeah.... Best Buy can shove it...
Oh i ended up takin it back anyway so i got my money back. Hah
big thread on reddit about this: multiple best buy mobile employees confirmed it, and users who went there confirmed it. people got calls to pickup on monday too.
pisses me off bc i chose shipping instead of in store (for the first time ever with best buy) bc i was worried they'd run out of stock before my preorder was fulfilled, so i wouldn't be able to walk in friday and get it. did shipping, thinking they'll def have enough in a warehouse.
yeah, and now they release early lol. so mad.
Pre ordered from Best buy about 2 hours after they started taking pre orders and I haven't received notification yet.

You should. I heard about this from https://www.reddit.com/r/GalaxyS7/comments/490phl/best_buy_preorders_go_out_monday/, and went to my local best buy to be sure. They had no idea what I was talking about, and reaffirmed the 11th as the release date. This was yesterday, today my GF got a call that our phones have arrived and that we can pick them up tomorrow.

My preorder confirmation said they would Email me when the items were ready. By chance, did they mention if the Gear VR was ready for pickup also?

Sorry, She didn't think to ask about the Gear VR. I'll call to ask. Our preorder confirmation states the same about notification of pickup.

Same thing happened to me. They had a Samsung rep there and I even showed him the phone, still wouldn't sell it. I went to U.S. Cellular, AT&T and even the new T-Mobile store in my town but neither had cases yet. Verizon store had the stuff out on display already so i bought my case and screen protector there.
I wondered who the *#&@ cares if I buy a piece of plastic for a phone that isn't "out yet"? I am giving you money, why do you care?! It was dumb as f.

Just got off the phone with my local BestBuy, they said that it should be no problem. She mentioned it would be FCFS based on available stock, dunno if this means you can get one shipped later, or if you are sol.
Well...that's kind of strange. The Best Buy website now shows the expected release date for the phone on my order as: "Null"?
The other 2 items still show expected release of 3-11-2016.
Edit: They just now changed the expected release date to 3-7-2016.

Yeah. I ordered two actually, got two seperate emails. I tried looking them up, but it says the name and phone number are wrong, didnt say anything about order number being wrong.
Edit: nevermind, it was under my old name. My att acct is kinda wonky haha.
