I didnt do much to my phone last night . . .put a new sms tone on it thats about it. . .woke up this morning and when I press the send key to open up recent calls etc . . .the dial screen has changed from the nice looking one to a horrible basic (windows looking one)
I didnt install a new dial screen , havent played around with anything like that yet but some how it has changed???
How do I get my old dial screen back??
I tried doing a soft reset ,,disable sense and turn it back on but nothing

this is the third time in a row that ive installed wm6 and then it goes deaf and dumb after 3 days i hav to install wm2003se . would some one plz kindly tell me how to hav it workin like the earlier version. what happens is the fone starts and pauses on the green windows mobile boot screen and goes non responsive nothing happens....and the second issue was when after installing the rom i was suppossed to select that no yes yes option.....i think my mail button infact all the 4 buttons at the bottom arent workin....is this because of that can there be any other way to clean the registry and format the storage.....thank u in advance im in urgent need of ur kind suggestions....thank u
maybe it's time to fix it by replacing that small buttons chip ? i doesnt cost you more than a few bucks it happened to me 8 months ago. i believe this would be the best solution.
If the "no yes yes" options are chosen wrong, this could be your problem. I have read that they MUST be set correctly.
i also have this same problem and couldnt clear the registry and format the storage. the middle button of d-pad was unresponsive. however i've tested that d-pad is working well in the application like Contacts.
just reflashed and managed to clear the registry. there's no need to press the middle button in d-pad

since 2 days ago I have this problem. The screen switch off itsel,and sometimes the power buton just doesn't work.
Also, sometimes, pops up the window saying if I want to swich it off, like when we press the power buton for a few seconds...but without doing it!!
I really don't know what to do, is very anoying. I thought might be because the other day I went for a walk, and was raining, so could get wet(?) ..don't know if that could be the problem, but anyway, that was friday, and today Sunday still happen the same.
Any ideas? Might get the buton blocked? If so...how do I unblock it?
I check the screws, and don't know what tool would be good if i need.. might be an special one ?

Screen switches off
I have a Tytn (Hermes) the phone comes on sometimes and works , then on occasions it would be on , but the screen is off . The backlight stays on but nothing on screen. Push the power button and sometimes it will come back on , other times i have to remove the batt and wait a couple of hours before the screen comes back on . When it is like this then even if you reboot , it goes past the htc logo and just before windows loads the screen goes off .I have re installed the shipped roms again as at first i thought it was a software problem . I can see my phone on active sync and i can also load software to and from the phone , even with the phone screen off . any suggestions would be appreciated . Thanks

Hi, i know im new to the forum and everything but I had my T-Mobile HTC MDA WWE Wizard Since 06 , it was working great but i Found it last week and even though its kind of beat up . i ordered a Battery (Which i Received Yesterday)It booted , Asking for a Password, So i did a Soft Reset By Pressing the On, Txt , Wifi + The little reset button i Pressed the Send key .And Did a Soft Reset . I did the Regular you know test thing skipped the password and there you go i Get The WM Desktop or W/e and i Noticed that there Was no Backlight! So i was like WHAT THE HECK?!,,, I Went to Settings > System > Backlight , And Did the Maximum Slide thing I Checked And Checked All Boxes and it made no Diffrence. So yeah Here i go now with a 60% Battery Charge now , And i Just Installed ActiveSync 4.5 And i Used the MDA RegEdit thing and Went to The Backlight Settings and Everything seemed ok . Even the The Lock SubFolder. So that wasnt the problem but i was still having fun with my MDA once again With My Prepaid SIM Card Getting Y! Messenger Free for some Odd Reason.. Anyways I Really Wanted to Customize it And i was about to Install an I-Phone Theme Called "ifonz" but it said i needed at least WM6 so here i go I Did the Lokiwiz to Unlock my SIM and CID Thing Did it Successfully , Then Tried to Install A OLD ass Rom : Faria Several Times I think to many times Because it Would get stuck at 99% , And for like the 10nth time i was back in the Recovery thing and i Took my Battery Out [When it always told me] but this time My Phone did Not Boot Anymore not even to the Supposably Three Colored Screen or W/e i couldnt see the colors cuz i didnt have a backlight but i had gotten that before and Successfully Reinstalled an Official ROM from the T-mobile WM Upgrade and me Being a Dumbass Kept on Wanting to Try and try . I dont even know why i kept trying the Same Old Faria ... So now Not Only Do i Have a Phone With No Backlight but a Phone that doesnt even turn on .. I am Willing to Pay For a Solution for this Brick.. I at least Want my Phone back even though i will be able to Use it only Indoors with a Bright Light i will buy another Screen on Ebay for like 30$.. And yeah I Tried To Do the USB Charger Hack and Nothing Happened my USB NON-OEM Charger Had an Extra White Cable But i Only Used The Black and Red With Positive and Negative. Nothing Happened.. Still My Phone won't turn on
A Possible Cause of This may be because i removed this Black Tape Like Thing On The Back of My Phone.. LOL What is that for?? I Don ReCall Putting it there

since a few days i have been having this problem where thought i dont touch the screen or the slide or even for the matter when the onscreen touch keyboard is not active, where ever there is a text field .... an unstoppable number of oooooooooooooooo keep appearing and keep going on though i press back space.
when i switch on my phone it automatically goes to phone dial mode and starts over again .
but the interesting thing is that this does not happen when am in a non text place like the file explorer or any other program....
the only work around i found for this is hold the windows key till the menu pop ups and then the ooooooooooooo stop and i can navigate my phone.
again when its released the oooooooooo continue again and some times there is a gap...meaning it starts randomly...a span of upto 5 min for the trigger...
i am totally paralyzedly... i cant enter contacts nor make calls or anything... i tried soft reset,hard reset and even flashed 6.1 and 6.5 in vain
i would really appreciate if someone could help me
Maybe that's hardware keyboard bug? Try to clean it near the "O" letter

recently my legend has been acting a bit strange .
i'll try and explain in short .
1:sometimes the back button is acting like the volume button. erratic raising of the volume and a flickering volume bar . can't adjust set the volume or back out from programs . hit home button sometimes cures this but not fully exiting the program
2: When i open Google maps and search for something , the search never happens just shows the map but no results . and the proceeds to lock up the phone . no buttons work except holding down the power button to shut down the phone .
..once powered down , the phone boots up into a window that shows , reboot , bootloader and i am not sure of the rest . with Androids on skateboards across the bottom of this window . strange .
3: once phone is on / back on . sometimes i just locks up for no reason . cannot use it at all , until i reboot / turn it off and then back on .
i don't have anything out of the ordinary installed on my phone, as far as apps , its basically out of the box default settings etc .
i have recently ( 2 days ago )
did a factory reset & formatted the 16GB MicroSD card .
last night while testing Google maps for the first time since i did this factory reset i started again . i was able to back out from Google maps . and it hasn't done anything strange today ( SO far ) but i wouldn't hold my breath .
Anyone else had something similar happen with their Legend ?

You formatted it but had no custom ROM or rooting?
i don't have anything out of the ordinary installed on my phone, as far as apps , its basically out of the box default settings etc .

nope nothing , basically outta the box ! .
This calls for harassing your carrier and forcing them to get you a new one!
Seriously, if it's outta the box and this happened, that's what I would do, the sooner the better.
