yeah i have that mate, even after updating the database its not listed. i dont live in a city, just a small town in the uk. i was hoping i'd be able to use the same kind of program sense uses for the weather, that just seems to register where ever i am, including my own town. any more ideas bud...?
well then, I'm affraid you won't be able to do so with SPB Weather. Maybe you can locate your town by GPS data though. but I guess this option will show you the nearest listed town.
Then you will need a diferent app to watch weather for your town...
Did you think that you might find your answer at the SPB forums?

Hi everyone,
Just got my Cingular 8525 the other day (upgrade from my Wizard). So far so good but I'm looking for a program that lets me see my local weather when connected with my WIFI. I've searched the web and forums but have only been able to find paid ones.
Are there are free ones out there?
Thanks in advance.

This is, in my opinion the best one out there, you can specify radar maps (.jpgs)
for your local area, many different icon sets, very customizable.
Thanks, I'll check it out!
i love this one

thats what i linked
Doh! didn't check out you're link... looks like the OP has found a winner.
Hrmm.... I'm looking for something that's free if at all possible.
The second one only seems to support cities for the US. I live in Canada so that didn't help. Thanks for your efforts though
EDIT: Weather Watcher seems to be the winner!
weather apps
I don't know any freeware weather app, but for me the bests are from sbsh and spb
The first one lets you customize the weather sources,
The other has a nice graphical interface and lets you to download (and create anmations) images from webcams
greetings to all
Weather Watcher seems to be the only PPC Weather Forecast freeware, and it is really clean and usefull... But no today screen integratin.

FYI: Mike Singer, the developer, is extremely responsive to requests. WW PPC is not his first priority, but he does answer any and all email.
Can anyone recommend a good, simple, customizable weather plugin for the Today screen? I've been using HTC Home, but it takes up too much room on the screen.
There's always Spb Weather:

I think it's been discussed a few times on the forum.
Yeah,
and also SPB MOBILE SHELL has the weather next to other good stuff for today screen ...
Damn, am I the only one liking it???

Thanks, mrlease! I had tried SBP Weather, but couldn't get it to work. Weather to Go does what I need it to do, and the price is certainly right. (Though I would have paid for SBP the other day if it had worked.)
Thanks again!
OK, maybe I spoke too soon. Weather to Go works fine, but it has limitations. It doesn't appear to update over a cellular connection (ActiveSync or WiFi only), and it doesn't show current conditions.
So, I guess I'm still searching. Again, SPB didn't work for me (couldn't get it to connect), so that's not an option.
You might try: http://www.sbsh.net/products/pocketweather/. It is cheaper than SPB by $5. I heard it has a smaller memory footprint than SPB, but I can not vouch for that. I tried it and liked it, but decided I could just use weather on mobile google.

I like SPB shell as well. I flash so much though that Ive gotten to where I dont even bother putting it back on. It's a pain to keep settting back up. The weather for my city though never seems to be even close to what it is. I have just found Marsware WeatherPanel. Seems decent enough. Still taking any other suggestions though.

I'm using WTG with WM6. I can update the weather through my data connection, wireless or ActiveSync. You might be confused when you look at the detailed weather drop-down for a city. The update date and time shown is the last time that NOAA updated the information for that city. BTW, most weather programs only give you a simple graphic with the high and low temperatures,
I really like WTG because I travel through connecting cities and it gives me a look-ahead for potential weather delays for multiple cities. Having to update manually is a small price to pay.

I tend to agree here. SPB weather was very inaccurate for me. Sometimes it would be as much as 10 degrees off. They use some weather source that is based in germany by default I believe I heard. There are user made weather sources that seemed to work better, but they were a pain in the neck to weed through, install, and configure in my opinion. SBSH's pocketweather worked great for me. But I ended up just using either the web or googlesms for weather. I'm in Dunbar, WV USA.
try weatherpanel 2.5
www.marsware.net.
The software is now free so you don't need to purchase. Its customisable and can have animated icons. I used with no problems but now use htc home.
I went back to SPB Weather, because I don't like how SBSH weather shows the detailed information, besides, for unknown reasons made my virtual page (I use WAD) really slow, changed to SPB again and everything works ok now.
PS: Nothing against SBSH, I moved from SPB Diary to PocketBreeze.

no good
I didn't have that reg key in my regestry( or any thing close)
Weather4me vs weather Tab on Manilla/TF3d etc
I love the detail of Weather4me, Humidity, Pressure, wind, UV & visibility
Is there anyway of getting this level of detain in the weather Tab, either by adding to existing tab or replacing tab?
I'd also like to see % chance percipitation. I'm outside all the time. And while its nice to know whether or not rain is predicted, I'd like to know whether its a 10% chance or 90%.
I know with CHT you can change the Application that the Weather goes through. However, I'm not sure if it shows different information and simply the data goes through somewhere else or not? This might be able to help you. Or you can do what my dad does and just make Weather a quicklink on your Home screen.

Thanks, but whilst that changes where it gets updates, it doe snot change the info shown.
I think that now that I have changed app, I may be able to mess with registry settings to show more.
Just need to figure out which and what, but I have no skill at this so any pointers for modifying Tabs would be grateful
Solution!

Below is a link that is right up your alley. This has been tested and running smoothely on my TP2. I do believe also reading NRG's post on this thread and him giving props to the guy that did this. I think you'll love it. Just read all the instructions on how to set this up. If you have any trouble, just let me know and I'll help you.

WOW! This looks fantastic.
I am so happy, installing now, will let you know results.
Thanks

WELL I'LL BE CAPS LOCKED!
That is the most awesome weather program I have ever encountered.
Works awesomely in SecondToday, but when I change the weather app in CHTeditor noting happens. It does not change the weather panel to weatherpool or SecondToday even though it is listed in CHTeditor as SecondToday.
I am using the New Faria ROM (HTC Messaging)
Just used MTPLoader instead of Second Today and it works
YAY!
yeah my normal weather tab sucks :/

Good, I'm really glad you like this. I was impressed instantly myself. HTC should encorporate this into their weather panel.

Hey, I would like to add my town to the list - town called Pardubice, Czech republic. I don´t want to use it only from function "my location via wifi hot spot or gsm". I would like to know how weather is there even if I am not there and without permanent internet connection..
Could somebody help me to fix this problem? Thanks for answers
Forgive me if this is an obvious reply, but have you tried going to the weather tab? And adding it by choosing the option "add location??" when you do this it becomes a fixed location on your phone. If your city is not available in the list, you could try to find something in the near vicinity of your town. On older roms, the great program of Andreas Falke weather database editor could add some new city's but with the new programmes, I don't know of any new editors that could do this.
goodluck there

You need Weather City Editor App. from JVH3. This allows you to add custom towns/locations to the HTC list. I found the App. on this site, and followed the instructions in the thread so it can't be difficult...
The App. is made for larger devices than the Mini so some of the dialogs are a bit tricky to hit, but this App. worked. Other ones I tried didn't. Plus, once you've done it, you don't need to do it again. Unless you upgrade the ROM of course.
Find the thread here: JVH3 Weather City
Thank u a lot, working great!!!
