Swype - myTouch 3G, Magic General

Been using it for awhile and now its saying trial peroid has ended. I was going to pay for full version but cant seem to find where to get it...anyone know the deal?

It just expired here too.
This one works but only has English and Spanish languages, I think it's the one from the mt3g 1.2
http://www.mediafire.com/?5fzmtyztjdx
I could convert it to french by merging the files from the old "expired" apk to the new one though... so I guess it can be done it with any language that was previously available.
Hope this helps

Cheers..thanks for that!

Thanks a lot. This is so much easier than the regular keyboard, am loving it.

Help with dialer on official wm6

Hi all you exellent hackers
Ok, I know that this question is popping up everywhere on the forum, in the diffrent device sections, but there is none who gives an answer to this, the reason for this might vary, but its still a unanswered question as far as I can find.
Im a nOOb, I know, and I am trying to find all the sollutions for my self by using google and search on the forum.
But im still hanging in the air without any sollution for this.
When we try to implement the touch dialer or the kaiser dialer in our official wm6, it do not show up right. There are some small issues with the commManagers too, but I worked that one around, atleast for the 8 button touchdialer. It has some color issues on the buttons, the left row is slighly darker then the left row..weird but no big problem, ill solve that.
But, as I said/wrote, cant get custom dialers to work.
Could any of the expert chefs provide us with a sollution to this? Is there one?
I know there is alot of roms out there that you guys have provided us with, and they are amazing (I have both qtec9100 and htc P4350,and have tried some roms) But, since I come from norway, I would like to have a custom rom with features like touch/kaiser dialer, kaiser commManager, touchflo/cube on my native language.
I have worked quite alot of hours making things work, but now im stuck.
I have changed many oem apps so they will work on my norwegian rom, changed language and edit paths so they would show up in right places, and they do
I dont want to sound like a kid who just wanna be cool and do what you guys do, im not even close to be where you guys probably where when you started cooking.
But I gotta start somewhere, and I have a hope that I can be of help with sollutions for things myself as I go along on this trip
What I have noticed is that there is many ppl who wants to take shortcuts to everything, to have everything handed out. Well, I hope im not like that.
Here in norway, there is not a big community of developers, and there is not many, if any, real good custom roms available (please corect me if im wrong) in my native language, and that in my mind is a sad thing.
I have no problem using a WWE, I have used many, and made the changes to make norwegian keyboard, both hardware and software work. (thanx to the many, many ppl who worked with providing the sollutions) But still WWE dont provide us with in.ex norwegian dictionarys for in. ofiice, it can be done by using 3party progz, but is nicer to have a norwegian (or other languages) base rom with the appz/mods/hacks working.
It would be greatly appreciated by many, many if someone could help us working this issues out.
If someone would post some reg edits to make it work?
Maybe make a cab file that makes the changes? (I would rather do it myself though)
I would easy be happy to make donations for the time used to help out, and im pretty sure many other would do the same.
AND please dont flame this thread
well, dialer solved...but not yet inn cooking, but reg edit/delete and cab install
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=323393
Ill figure that out in cooking

XT9 types only numbers no characters

Hi,
I have been searching for about 2 days for a solution to my problem (my and of many others):
There are several XT9 support packages on the web, but none of them seems to work on Polaris.
I have tried "all" of them. Various languages, various combinations.
Even in this Polaris forum are some not functional packages posted.
The installation was successful, but pressing any character would type numbers only.
Uninstalling the installed package got me always back and repaired the problem.
I am looking for Slovak pack, but I have seen people from all over Europe facing the same problem.
If someone has a solution please post it here.
Have a day!
mm
At least LIE to us and say you used the search function. But you didnt... (see attachment).
There is no solution available. It doesnt seem to work, I suggest you flash one of the custom ROMs around or wait for a Slovak one.

Thank you for accusing me of lies... You know it probably better if I have searched or not.
They guys in the thread you have mentioned talk about T9.
Isn't there a "slight" difference between T9 and XT9?
I am getting confused of all tips that do not work. (One of them on the first page of sticky thread "HTC Polaris tweaks and tricks #17".)
You are the first one to say "There is no solution available." I'll settle with that for now.
Thank you for responding.

Freaky keybrd
I've the same problem. Time-to-time htc keyboard refuses to print something except numbers. My solving is to quit the application in which I try to print, and launch it again. Everything goes ok at second time, but this situation confuses me a lot.
I liked my orbit 1 t9 key pad which i found on this forum however it doesn't work on the orbit 2. I’m finding the HTC one very hard to use.
Oh no buddy, you got me wrong. Please check again, I said you SHOULD have lied, not that you did It's just quite obvious you know, there are 2 threads, almost the same subject, covering the same topic, and like right above each other (this is an unedited screenshot, thats why)...
xT9 is the successor of T9 and it's the only form of text prediction available on the Polaris. There is no T9 anymore. xT9 is supposed to be better, more advanced, but all I see is user complaining. Obviously Tegic (the inventors) didnt do a very good job in making it better and more advanced... Kind of like Microsoft all the time
Sorry for the missunderstanding then.

Japanese on Imagio

Does anybody know how I can get my phone to view/write in Japanese? There's no option in my regional settings and a friend told me to come here. Any help would be awesome, thanks!
My suggestion would be to look into HTC or Verizon (or perhaps your carrier) for a Japanese ROM.
Needless to say once the Imagio ROM cooking gets going you're bound to find more information.
P.S Welcome to the forums, please make sure you've read the Forum Rules and you're pretty much guaranteed to enjoy your stay here.
I've already checked with HTC and after not understanding my question several times, I think they finally got it and they don't have anything. So I was hoping someone knew where a crack or something was. Not being able to read Japanese isn't going to help me on a global phone I bought to take to Japan.
Thanks though. If anyone else has info or suggestions, I'd appreciate them.
CE-Star is made by Chinese company, but it works for the Japanese language.
Please google for the CE-Star, you can get information.
A very nice person is providing the software
blog.g4team.com/?p=734
My review: For using the CE-Star, we can write/read in IE, Opera, Outlook, but it does not work for any text message.

Please HELP!

Im new to the whole Windows Mobile world and having serious issues with adding keyboards, fonts, etc... Ive always had Blackberry and im used to using and modding that, figured it was time to move on and got the HD2 and now im confused as hell! Can someone please post links, how to, to download the HTC IME keyboard? Also how to add fonts? this is really irritating.. Ive searched and searched and still cant figure out how to get the keyboards and fonts on my phone ... Any help is greatly appreciated!
Any1???????
Just curious, but where did you find the buttons and such? Posting link-backs will give us a chance to see what you are talking about instead of trying to guess.
Did they not have instructions on how to install them?
Did you perchance download the versions meant for chefs, that are designed to be cooked in the kitchens and not installed directly?
Also, for me, please refrain from big caps in your post title when asking about such matters. Let's leave that for the folks with bricked phones, k?
While we are on the subject of etiquette, posting a bump less than 24 hours after your original post is a wee bit pushy. Especially when that bump doesn't say "Bump"
So hit me back with those links and I'll see if I can help you a bit.

Adding fonts into WinMo is much the same like WinPC. Just put it into \Windows\Fonts directory.
But on further reading and 2nd guessing what you are trying to say above, it appears that you want to be able use that installed font when the keyboard is activated. Is that correct ?
Isn't HTC IME keyboard already available in the HD2 ? Or are you looking for different language input ?
FYI, I had a bad experience with trying to add Traditional Chinese input capability when installing an extracted HTC Ezinput IME from another stock ROM. See http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=611894&page=2
State clearly what you are trying to achieve so that others can help.

Actually, this forum is for people to help people. Voluntarily. As in, for free. When you ask someone for help, it is generally considered a good idea to adhere to certain protocols, such as being polite and thankful for what help you do receive.
Now, since you obviously are not interested in my help, I leave you to the graces of others. I am also adding you to my ignore list, since you decided to call me a "smartass". Good luck to you.
Zen, Thanks for the reply! When i connect my HD2 to the PC (running on Vista) i cant access ny Windows folder on the phone for some reason, so i cant add a font .. No, the HD2 does not come with the IME keyboard. I am just looking for a English version to download for a Windows device.. If i google it, everything comes up for a Droid.

Was you phone connected via ActiveSync or "Disk drive mode" ?
I can't remember off my head but one of them - I take my bet on ActiveSync - will make Windows folder inaccessible. You could have copy into "My Document", remove phone from PC and then move it again via File Explorer.
I still don't get the part about HTC IME that you don't have . What it the ROM version you have ? Go to Start > Settings > About Phone > Software Information. Post the info.
There is Swype, Finger keyboard in the forum. Search for it.
Gotta go offline 24-hr in the next 15 mins or so.

IME stands for Input Method Editor i.e. on-screen software keyboard.
I am using QQ pinyin input which allows me to input Traditional Chinese. The option to select HTC's default IME, which is called Ezinput, is still there. I do not see the need to use HTC IME since QQ pinyin input has all the capabilities and more. Since HTC IME is in the ROM, I can't remove it either without flashing a cooked ROM.
So how do you type/input text into any apps ?

To make the windows available you need to have your PC set to show protected files. On a side not please watch the swearing in the forums.

You want something like in the screenshot.
That's the QQ input I talked about. No, I don't think it is suitable for you since you do not require chinese input.
Let me dig around. Just keep watching this post.

Yes sir, Exactly like that 1. How do i go out installing that?
Take a look and consider:
Fingerkeyboard2 v2.1 (freeware)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=501122
Resco keyboard (commercial)
http://www.resco.net/pocketpc/keyboard/indepth.asp
One thing, I wish to point out is that the version date seems to pre-date WM6.5 actual release. I came across one software which allows for Chinese input, released in May 09 but had read forum complaints about paid users who was not able to get it to work on WM6.5 and that software company acknowledged it. I finally settled on QQ input although it is still in beta which I normally would not even consider installing.
Perhaps try out Fingerkeyboard2 first since it is free and also, you can post questions if the need arises.

So you're screwed. Bring it back. It only has German. No possibility to switch to another locale, no matter how hard we try to understand you.
i understand that this could be a solution yes.
but i was thinking maybe somebody knows if i upgrade to 3.1 with usb host cable....maybe that would work?
and also since that 3.1 rom image is taken directly from google, shouldn't void my warranty right?
i am waiting couple more hours for more opinions maybe someone here can help me!!
then i take it back to the store
i can tell you this thing has ruined my user experience ...a lot!

I think it's to early to tell if the 3G Verizon 3.1 image might work on a German 3G Xoom. If I were you I would trade it for the Galaxy Tab 10.1v. They should be available in Germany by now. It's a perfect Honeycomb tablet and will support English. (You need to double check this of course in the store)
Good luck, take it easy
thanks appelflap!
i have an update for those who are intrested in this... just called motorola germany, they speak english, and i asked them if this is a policy of motorola or it will be available in the future.
motorola support told me "no no no, no way its our policy" and by next official update i will definately get english. they said its just because its the initial release of the honeycomb thats why... i asked them when the upgrade and they said they dont know and they prefer not to speculate.
oh well... should i believe them? i still have 14 days by german law and also according to the store policy to take it back so i figure i just wait a little bit...
galaxy tab 10.1 might have been a very good option ...if it had hdmi and microsd, which is important for me...
You can try to install a free app called MoreLocale2 from Android market.

This app contain lots of language packs.

Only works if they have built in the locale translations in the Honeycomb system. Could be working for english because Honeycomb is original in English. Don't see why they have hide the English locale though. BTW it will not work for the keyboard.
With such a switch you ask apps to look for translations. Apps need to provide the translations though.
everything is in english now. keyboard also, skype, google maps, android market, everything in english.
i selected us english in the MoreLocale2 app, even though in the settings/ language options i still cant chose other than german, which is so weird....
i will post a pic later, now i am playing with my new toy

That's great. Congratulations. Now if this only could work with dutch
Very strange they decided to hide this locale option on the German Xoom.
Well this is great! It also works with the Galaxy Tab 10.1v for Dutch. The translations aren't finished yet but it's working, sort of. Now I won't have to wait till they release the translations here in the Netherlands.
Ha! Now I don't have to return the Tab and can I sell the Xoom to my neighbor
Thank you!
