[SOLVED] Missing Icons In Start Menu - Windows Mobile

Hi 2 all chefs and developers..
I am using evk latest kitchen to cook a rom. I Have dump of stock 1.66 and 1.72 stock roms..
As 1.72 is a t-mobile branded rom.. i dont want to use t-mobile branded rom.
Ext packages and its itz upgraded HTC MESSAGING client and manila from 1.72 rom i want to cook them with 1.66 rom.
I simply copy and paste the said packages from 1.72 rom to 1.66 EXT folder and then run the Kitchen.
Rom cooked ok. and it flashed ok without any error.
but the problem is..Some of the icons.. ie: Tools, mails, multimedia etc etc goes classic . and applications icons from them comes out in the start menu.
i dont know what i am doing wrong?
kindly advice what to do.

you need to have the initflashfiles.dat entries for pkgs you bring over from 1.72, not just copy and paste the pkgs.

you could copy over initflash.dat from the newer rom
you can find it in kitchen>oem>device>0409>oem_lang_0409
as said you could also edit the initflash manually
by rightclicking on the initflash.dat file and select open with notepad(not sure ifits called this way but its the second option

no
it's not possible either get used to flashing
or wait till HTC give you something you want.
It is impossible to cook a rom that is identical to the stock rom with the changes that increase the ram? I think not.

Grats, but also missed the point.
If your goal is to keep ur ROM as stock as possible, you can DIY these steps:
1. dump a stock 1.66 nbh, preferably using EVK (Vistang also did a complete dump but may miss out some 0409 language files)
2. dump a Test 2.02 nbh.
3. dump a Test 2.01 nbh.
4. Use dumped 1.66 as base kitchen.
5. copy 2.02's OEM\OEMDrivers and OEM\OEMDriversHigh to replace the 1.66's.
6. Before you did (4), copy ddi.dll from 1.66 at some other folder, then later replace 2.02's by copying it back at OEM\OEMDrivers.
7. do the same replacement for ROM\OEMKernel\MSM_TIME.DLL file, but from 2.01's.
8. recook with 2.02's radio.nb you'll get a as-stock 1.66-as-possible ROM with 576MB RAM.
To save all the troubles, just grab the kitchen at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=624672 They are quite raw and not modified.

don't you need nk.exe (oemxipkernel) from 2.02 for this to work?

I would also be very interested if someone could cook a stock 1.66 with 576 RAM and make that available for a simple download and flash. Has this been made available by someone, and I am just missing it? Thanks in advance for any help in developing or making this rom available.
bump. I am not a cooker. only am eater.
Why do you not just have a look into the ROM-section?? There ar lots of ROMs that are close to Stock but with the full amount of RAM enabled. I can suggest e.g. Dutty's ROMs. I mean, what should be the advantage of the stock ROM? Maybe the included ringtones, wallpapers, or BING?

ManilaFix

Hello,
Since 2 weeks I am a novice ROM builder, and I have build my own Dutch ROM 6.5.5 (23547) with a base 1.66 ROM. Everything works fine, only I have a problem with Manila (see picture). I have a fix for this "Interceptor", but its not working properly. I get a windows error at startup, and everything is slow. Is there another way to solve this problem.

This bug is not present if to use Manila 2.5.2012.1412.1
Hi braakie, like said above the bug isn't present in the 2012 manila version. To upgrade your stock manila version to this version (shipped with the tmous 2.10 rom) "upgrade" your ext directory with the folders you find in this zip:
http://www.4shared.com/file/234735383/be3e74d7/HD2_Manila.html
Just replace the folders in the ext dir with the folders you find under the HD2_manila dir. Remove the manila_core directory and the manila_music directory and replace them with the tmous_manila_core and tmous_manila_music directories.
if your rombuilder doesn't pick up the "dat" file in the Manila_XXXXX directory add the entries in it manualy to the initflashfiles file. (add them at the ending so it will overwrite the other manila entries. Or better yet, replace the other entries with the entries you find in the .dat file.
As a bonus you get the new music tab, the new reader tab and the new document tab.

If you don't want to upgrade your manila version you can try out this position fix
For older versions there was a little cab, that fixed that. Maybe other members know the name. Its early in the morning
btw. what softbutton skin is that?

Just one question, should I remove the old manila folders, and put the new folders of your package in my LEO_External_Packages. I ask this, because in my old manila folders are much more files than your folders, and can I replace my dutch 0413 folders in the new manila folders, see screen:

It should work when you just replace the folders. And I guess it's no problem to change the 0409 dirs for the 0413 dirs. But I don't think that this will change the language of manila to dutch. To change the language to dutch you have to set the registry value HKEY_CURRENT_USER/MUI/CurLang to 0413. (don't know in which reg file this value is set).
Do you have Showcase for a 6.5 or 6.1 build installed?
That does exactly this error! You should check that, before you flash everything new!

Yep, not looking good I believe spankienl has some kitchens uploaded for EVK with the 2012 manila version and a wm 6.5.x sys. Maybe you can use some parts of these kitchens. Or have a look at this kitchen.

[PROBLEM] Cooked Rom stuck at boot

I am using ervius to build a rom, Everything works according to the kitchen except that it could not find the ppchanger. But that shouldn't be an issue. However, whenever I load it to the phone. It becomes stuck at boot. What am I doing wrong? Here's the build log.
Update: I moved the wincenls_wwe to my oem to no avail. still stuck at touch pro screen. Here's the latest build log after recmodding some files:
Everything seems to be ok and if it stucks in the first splash screen is issues related to XIP check your OEMxipkernel all the modules.... same format! check the MSXIPkernel all the modules same format!
i see you are addin manila but i couldn saw any manila pkg in OEM or EXT cause you dont have nothing in EXT and you just have OEM and SYS.. where did you get all of this OEm SYS and addons?
Thanks for your reply. All I did was dump a shipped rom. Then I tried to add a 6.5 build. The shipped rom had manila within the oem.
ok... first of all... wich device is it? wich rom was the original rom? 6.1 or 6.5? did you checked 6.5 real aku on the kitchen?
and yes dont forget to check the thread of how to make rom bootable..

Well I tried the Verizon XV6850_MR1_Upgrade_v2.0 for the Touch Pro. I am trying to create the rom for CDMA device (herman correct?) The original rom is 6.1 and I am trying to put the 21903 build. Yes I checked the aku 6.5. I've read the threads from others with the similiar issues. I've tried the recmod.exe in the Ervius tools folder, and I've also tried the recmod auto zip. I've downloaded and went through the list of sys files that can be recmodded with no luck. What steps exactly do I take to make sure that the oemxipkernel and msxipkernel are the same format?
Hi well it seems that you need to know this, if your dumped rom was 6.1 your kernel is not real aku 6.5 so you dont check that box in the kitchen

oh... so even if I am using 6.5 sys & xip.bin if I am bringing over the oem kernel from the base rom then I should NOT check it... Is that what you are saying?
Exactly!
If you dump the 6.1 STOCK ROM you will have xip.bin payload rromhdr.bin and OEMXIPKERNEL V6.1 and you will not check the the real aku6.5 on the kitchen
If you dump a 6.5 STOCK rom you will have everything in 6.5Version so you can check that checkbox... Why you dont take a look into the main stickie in repositories maybe you can find your Native 6.5 OEMXIPKERNEL and send to the hell the 6.1 version

So it doesn't matter if the 6.5 stock rom is not for cdma touch pros? As long as I choose the right dpi and of course remove gsm stufff then I can create a build for it? Am I right in my thinking?
yes the thing that makes the GSM or CDMA rom is in your OEMXIPKERNEL things and in your OEM folders
Wow!! This is some amazing stuff. Ok one more question, of late most builds do not include the oemxipkernels, and I've learned that you can generate this with xipport button in ervius. If i was to use this, and i port the os.payload & the build's xip.bin, should I check the box that this is a native 6.5 kernel?
Touch pro is the FUZE isnt it?
Why you dont ask in Da_G thread for the Native 6.5 TOUCH P kernel
i cant remember well but i guess i saw it
you dont need to do that the kitchen ports the xip.bin payload bal bla bla autopmatically for you
Just want to say thanks for your help. I find your insight very helpful. I will start from scratch and see what happens. Thanks again.

This is the reg key for having back WM Settings in Start Menu:

"HideSettings"=dword:00000000
Be sure to cook it at least after Manila in your Kitchen.

Well my friend. y downloaded an english kitchen who has many build in 0409 for RhodiumW. i find and new sys 23563/xip.bin multilang and i added to the kitchen. and all the files 0409 i change it to 0c0a . every thing works fine. titanium works fine. but i cant make work manila.
I remember in one oportunity i cook in 0c0a and manila work fine but without the lang file, then i installed the lang pack and everything looks normally in 0c0a lang.
I think im missing to do something to make manila work fine.
Thanks for your help
There are 2 folders that contains insided the language folders:
Manila Core and Manila Home.
Now, i bet that you are cooking for 2018 sense?
My suggestion is to import an Original rom with your language and use that Manila for training.
Look here for some original roms http://shipped-roms.com/shipped/ im sure that you will find a 0c0a sense rom here.
Otherwise if you will find 0c0a Sense language for your current rom you will be good.
As a said you before , we need your log build for a better check.

All the original rom i have to downloaded for my rhodiumW cdma-gsm is in 0409, no exist in 0c0a, but for rhodium gsm 1 or 2 is in 0c0a but have manila 2.1. i look in saint google fo an manila 2.5 0c0a and only fina the cab lang pack but not the manila oem.
I will look for other device to see if i can have the complete manila 0c0a.
You can use Rhodium GSM packages as well the most important thing is that you want never use the OEM Drivers or you will brick your phone, EXT packages are pretty the same.
If you did find the cab for language ,oh well, this is not a big problem, i attached a program that converts cab to oem/EXT ..install it in C:\ otherwise it will not works.
Its not easy find your language packages( Spanish?) for sense up to 1922 because for us European this is the only version made from HTC , the others(2012/2014/2016/2018) are from TMOUS and OBOE phones ,so only WWE or Chinese.

i figure out something. in my kitchen exist this folder, donors, ext, oem, rom, sys
in donors i put the MSXIPKernel or xip.bin 23563
ext i put all the oem programs
oem i put oemdriver, OEM_Lang_0C0A and other folders
rom i put xip.bin and MSXIPKernel, MSXIPKerneltk, OEMXIPKernel 21887
sys i put sys 23563
when i click go he automaticaly change MSXIPKernel 21887 for MSXIPKernel 23563.

Since you said that this is from my kitchen, why not post in my kitchen thread? You will likely get answers from the person who is most familiar with the kitchen you are using (Me) quickest that way.
Anyway, by looking at your build log, I see a few issues right off the bat. First of all, you need to take a look at the packages.sof file that you imported into the kitchen with the new sys. OSBuilder builds first based on packages.sof order, and then .dsm order if packages are not found in packages.sof. You are building packages all out of preferred order, which will not achieve desired results. Take a look at the packages.sof from my preconfigured kitchen, or better yet, download my most recent kitchen and just use that.
Also, I see that you are building in both phonecanvas versions. One version is for com2 and com 5 builds, and the other is for com 3 builds, so that will cause you some issues.
In regards to your manila issue, I believe that the kitchen you are working with likely only contains 0409 manila files, because I think that is the one and only build that I used the manila lang sorter on, and stripped all non wwe manila files from the kitchen. I'm talking about lang files in the manila common folders (which contain over 10 different languages by default -- even though these are supposed to be "common" files. The recent version of the kitchen does contain all lang manila files in common, you just need to add your lang pack.

Hello sorry that I have not asked directly to you, do not save the post from which to download the kitchen and honestly I downloaded many kitchen for testing. and good that yours was the most use and I started changing from a few things until the end wanted to put it in my native language is Spanish, q is both the modification that the only thing I did was left of your original rom was the xip of 21 887 rom yet and would change the 21 889 that I previously had the stock rom dump.
Ok and will review these issues you mention about the canvas was originally com2 off but I had to activate q 3 for the full-dialer will see that when I was the only COM5 dialer being cut came out but not approach it because I wanted to do first operational as of manila to accommodate those details later.
I would love to hear a lot that kitchen, cooperation could give me the link to download if not much problem.
Thanks for everything.

[solved] bluetooth stack cant be started at hd2

hello fellow chefs
since shortly i became aware that bluetooth isnt working on the hd2 rom i made:-o
the thing i did is download the 1.66 dutch rom and dump it with ervius kitchen(i use this ktichen for rom making)
i changed the ext packages to the ones i use for blackstone and changed a few packages with the original 1.66 packages like dshow, concurrence manager, camera, fm radio and comm manager
then i rebuild it and it looks the same as on my blackstone and almost everything works except bluetooth
when i go to start>settings>bluetooth i get the screen that bluetooth isnt on and if i want to turn it on
when i press yes i get the message that the bluetooth stack cant be started
when i flash a kwbr rom bluetooth works so it isnt a mailfunction of the device
also yesterday before the server crash i posted a thread for this and af974 posted that the bleutooth settings whas a package he had never seen in leo roms although i get it from the dump of the dutch leo rom 1.66 and 1.72 vodafone roms so whats up with this package:S
i atach my buildlog and want to thank for any tips on how to solve it
edit: i just checked with other leo roms i have stored and when i looked at 3.01 wwe rom the oemdriver and oemdriverhigh folders are in total 3 mb bigger then the ones i get from the dutch roms
you think i can change it with those? as i dont quite understand the differnece between the american and european leo's:S
And you also played with SYS.
Best to take a look at a SYS from a stock rom. The HD2 has a few things that are in OEM.
You can definatly removing following from your SYS:
Bluetooth Included -> is in OEM
IRDA -> Leo does not have infa red port
SMS_Providers
WinCENLS_WWE -> in XIP
and a few more, just compare an original with yours

hey, i had the same problem as you some time ago. it was because of my modifications in initflashfiles.ini, check if
"Directory("\Windows\AutoStart"):-File("BTTrayCE.lnk","\Windows\BTTrayCE.lnk")"
is in yours or any other app.dat
maybe this will help you

Nope don't use it on the Leo and you need bttrayce to start at bootup to be able to enable bluetooth
hmmm
made sure that Directory("\Windows\AutoStart"):-File("BTTrayCE.lnk","\Windows\BTTrayCE.lnk") whas in the initflash.dat file and took out all bluetooth packages out of sys and ext packages but still no bluetooth:S
gonna try changing to 2.13 base
any one knows of fixes are needed there
