no point in posting this but its general... i wish the market had a sorting option. i would set mine to sort by # of downloads/# of comments/rating. i know rating is added on title but sometimes i get 1 star followed by 5 star apps. *sigh*
I wish there would be a filter for the country (local apps)
Have you tried appbrain? It allows much better browsing of the market and you can do it via desktop browser as well
www.appbrain.com
Some guy posted that there was a lot of asian porn apps in the market...
I wish there was an option to filter developers...
the only nothing close to developers app is going to an app from that developer and scrolling down below the comments of the app and clicking more apps from this developer... oh well at least its something. i have fav developers too.

Ok, I am new to forums all together. If I am doing something wrong like posting in the wrong area or using the wrong labels or whatnot, please tell me.
I am requesting an app for windows mobile that allows me to play epic pet wars, the facebook app. from my phone.
If you have a link to an already made application that would be wonderful, too! =]
Well I love this site, I come to it regularly for downloads. Just thought I would say thank you! =]

it's not an app specifically for that,
but you could probably use skyfire to play that app.
I was using it while I was at work to play mobsters back in the day.
Hey XDA,
Just launched my new site for app demos and tutorials. My first post is the video walkthrough of Swype I made a while back in the Hero forums on XDA. Almost 3000 views on that video now. Feel free to give your opinion about the site and offer up any suggestions or requests. Hope you guys like it!

Oh dang! Thanks a lot for catching that! Fixing now.
Looks pretty good. I think you should figure out a way to mount a camera in a solid location and then put your hand/phone against a hard surface to reduce the movement. You do a pretty good job keeping it still but you can see the issues where the focus drops out and some of the phone's screen gets washed out.
Cool site man!

I see there are already several threads made on different dates on this, but a friend of mine had experienced problems and I researched it and found that it was this http://news.cnet.com/8301-27080_3-20049004-245.html. Just thought I'd let you guys know, be careful. =D
As long you dont download pirated apps i think you will be fine.

Here's my advice:
1. - NEVER install an app outside the Android Market unless you know exactly what the app does, and only if it comes from a legit website.
2. - Take the time to learn the Basics of Android Permissions and what they do.
3. - If you are unsure why an app needs a permission, email the dev. If the guy's legit, he will email you back or make an update in the market description.
4. - If all else fails, read the comments posted about the app. If something seems strange to you, chances are that somebody else is thinking the same thing...

lmao thats such a great idea. haha. make an app. put it on the market. make another app. post it on the file-sharing sites. and let the pirates eat it for breakfast (not captain crunch). i applaud the dev of this app. this my friends is how pirates will be stopped.

you can do this with LBE Privacy Guard
Alot of the devs who make these apps are pirates themselves!! Considering they steal other peoples artwork and claim it as their own.
What I'm referring to in particular are the many different multiples of the same damn live wallpapers all put out by at least 5 or 6 different devs!! Yeah I'm sure they all own the rights to those images! Sure! I don't even think these people properly thank the original artist let alone give them a cut!!
Also how about all these damn apps that install different boot animations on your phone. Do you really think they ask the creators if its ok if they use their boot animations?? Hell no!!
What about the fact that half these damn apps show up on the market for say 4.99 last for around a month then mysteriously disappear!! Gee, talk about thievery!!

People who has downloaded the app used it have given good rating and feedback. But still downloads are not at all increasing.
All my request to app info sites for review has not been replied or they will ask for money
Looks like there is no scope for good developers with no budget

That's not true: if the app is worth it will be reviewed by some important site such as xda portal (for free) and will start getting a good amount of downloads. Of course you need to keep on promoting on the forums etc.
By the way, what's your application?

I can't find it. Maybe there is a problem with the distribution settings in the developer console?

I've had more success sharing my app on Reddit and tweaking the keywords in the description than with review sites myself.
I have also added a review prompt in the latest version which seems to be helping so far, fingers crossed.

Google Play has some free channel to help developers promote their apps, but that requires some downloads in some days or something like that.
So, you can try make cooperation with someone, and recommand your app via partner channel.
then you may have the chance of listing in Top New Free to Google Play.

I think here XDA forum is also a place for hunting partners :lol
Getting some websites to review your app sure can be challenging. Those websites get hundreds of emails a day and it is hard to scan through all of them, but some of them might pick you up on the offer.
I personally posted on Reddit and it didn't get much attention...I might need to try it again, but maybe people didn't like the app...

Sorry, what do you mean with "some downloads"? 10k? 100k? Thank you..
I believe that the best always rises to the top.You do not even need to market your app.It only takes a man to download your app and get the ball rolling. If your blog is interesting and useful, you don’t need to do much else.Example of this is the popularity of Instagram.

This only works for some very special cases; for the others, a bit of "push" is necessary.
To my mind, the quality of the app does evrything by itself.
We had the same problem after we have launched (https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/good-weather/id601784766).
We found out that the best way is to approach our users who were engaged with the app.
We thought of a compelling way to ask them to rate us at the store /share the app with a friend/ tweet etc and it worked beyond our expectations...
Bottom line - when you ask someone who likes you nicely at the right time you are much more likely get respond.
We have since decided to develop it to a product which other developers can use - www.kudos-kit.com
Right now Reddit is a good way to promote your app, but best way is here in XDA.
Also, post it on forums allways can help a lot, since most of review sites are not free....
A Good Remote App for Fire TV (stick)
Or, an easy way to sideload apps to your TV/boxes
Like many Fire TV users, I need a mouse to control my sideload apps; I need a function like quick launch to open my apps on my mobiles; I need an easier way to install popular sideload apps.
There’s a remote called Wukong TV Remote and it can satisfy all my wishes above. Besides, it has features like screencasting, screenshotting, speeding up, and cache cleaning.
It’s a good but right now not amazing app. Like the control is not instantly responsive, like it only has a input within instead of a qwerty keyboard. But anyway it’s a good one and worth trying.
You can see the reviews on Google Play and this app gets 4.27
Google Play & Facebook : search Wukong or Wukong TV Remote and you'll find it

He just made his own app to promote, and had no posts on the board before that. No one wants to try it, and I can't blame them. Who cares how many stars it has on the play store? Seems like a scam, then my replies were deleted. I'll stay as far away as possible!

Your replies were not deleted. They're still in the other thread they created here.
As for the app, I looked at it before, but it has some permissions I'm not comfortable with, so I didn't install it myself.
