Hi there
I know there are a lot of great roms available now thanks to all the developers here.
I am still using the upgraded UK_orange 6.5 relased on tosh website..
I can hear the callers but they can not hear me properly on the other side, my voice breaking and crackling.
The only thing that would make me port one of these custom roms available here is if the sound quality is fixed.
Which one are you using now with no sound problems at all?
Thanks
Are you using the newer 6.5 update which came out on March rather than the earlier 6.5 update which came out in October? I found my sound problems were mostly fixed by the March update, although I did find I had to do a hard reset after the upgrade before I really noticed the improvement.
The reason I ask is that for some strange reason Toshiba never updated their website when their second update came out and it misinforms people saying they should not update if they already have WM 6.5. Some people heard about the update, went to the website and naturally assumed they already had the latest update because of what it said, and are needlessly living with terrible call quality as a result.
I'm guessing you probably have already checked but I thought I'd mention it.
I've recently tried ffboy's sense beta2 sense Rom with the radio version 5005.1600.05 and I had bad call quality with that, but others say that radio has been perfect for them. If you look further down you'll see that this has already been discussed and the conclusion was that there is no easy answer to this question at the moment. The only way is to try each Rom for yourself. Be sure to follow the instructions carefully though.
thanks.
I have the latest official MARCH version but it did not solve the problem.
I also have been following all the feedback by all the tester on all devs "Nosker,November5,Aragon85 and ffboy2009" roms but I could get a clear picture of which one is with the issue fixed..
hence I am looking forward to Android on this device and let see how it goes..
Any rom with 5005.1700.05 or 5005.1600.05 radio has no sound quality issues.
Hello,
right Joous, seems to be some phones out you can install what ever you want, quality is pur. In modaco or ppc found some threads say telling its hardware7 lot dependend.
@ computerbar, you should test a custome rom, normally they are without issues. if you still have give your mobil back or change it during warranty.
regards

Are you sure? It wasn't true for me. I had a bad experience with 5005.1600.05 (as I already said). Some others said its perfect for them, but others have said it gave them poor call quality. I don't know if it depends on the country, but it might. I'm in the UK in a 2g area.
I haven't tried 5005.1700.05 yet, but I'm trying it tomorrow.

hi,
i called T-Mobile yesterday to enquire about them upgrading existing devices to WM6, i was told that if the manufacturer made the updatees available then so would they. i told them HTC were making updates available for their own brand devices so the girl went off to speak to the technical department and came back to tell me that i should keep checking the website as they were expecting some kind of updates to be available in june but couldn't tell me exactly what.
sounds promising...
Lets hope so!
Thats quite wicked.. not sure how the rom are going to compare to the rom's that have been cooked here but they have changed their tune...
They did say that they were not going to update the handsets and that you would have to purchase a different model..
We shall wait and see....
D
Bonus
Great news, then we can get something solid and supported back on our handsets and lets the ROM Chefs take a holiday (though probably a quick one!)
I can say if you are looking for something stable on tmobile UK....Black Dymond with radio 1.40.30.00 is a winner at the moment.
ROCK SOLID, i tested all beta versions (beta, RC1 and RC2) and this ROM has had alot of work put in it.
Ok everyone, I have never posted before but I have been around for a little while (still consider myself noobish though)
I have been doing tons of research since the official rom upgrade has come out. I have to admit though I am more confused then ever.
Here is my problem, my wife and I both have the titan. About a mouth ago I upgraded both of ours to the dcd 2.1.0 (12/05/07) to unlock the gps and get rid of the sprint crap. I have to admit I fell in love with this version. Last night I installed the official htc 3.35.651.2 rom on my phone...I am NOT in love with it. Last night and all day today I have been searching for a replacement. Here is the source of my problem. There is so much development and creativity that people put into these phones (and the titan in particular) but is there no central place to compare and rate different roms? I was hoping to find a page that listed the top roms and the differences between them (and the official ones) but that does not seem to exist. There are several roms out there that look promising but sort of spending the rest of the day loading and testing them all I am at a loss.
If anyone knows of a great site or page that does what I have been looking for please let me know. If anyone has a suggestion to which rom I should go with I welcome your input. To that end, below are a few of the things I loved about the dcd version.
1) no extra sprint crap programs
2) working task manager (I just dont like the one on the official rom)
3) text messaging in a chat window set up. Unlike the email like set up in the official versions (I dont know if that makes sense)
4)Full Comm Manager (included more options)
Last item I would like to bring up, much has been made of EV-DO Rev.A. Do any of the custom roms incorporate this? It in its self is not a deal breaker for me, after testing load times on my phone vs my wife’s...Im not impressed but I would like it if possible.
Thanks everyone in advance. I have never posed before because I could always just find the answer if I looked long enough but in this case there is just way to much stuff out there...the curse and blessing of owning a titan
Thanks again

So far the only rom's for the Titan I know of is DCDs, Keys and NexsHybrid. Rev.A is not incorporated into the roms itself, but the radio. as long as you have the radio 3.35 you are fine. since you are a fan of dcd, i would suggest you try his new 3.0.1 rom. since you already upgraded with the official sprint rom, you have the new 3.35 radio (assuming) and all you need to do is flash a new rom on top of that.

I have been following the HD2 for some time now and with my contract due for newel on the 21st of January I know what I want and where I am getting it from.
I have had a chance to play with it a bit but now am looking for a bit of feedback regarding the ROM Version - the ROM I saw on the deviced was 1.48 is this one past some of the problems I have been reading about - I know there are patches and I am fine to do them. I will be upgrading via Phones4u and hoping that I will not run in to some of the problems people are encountering with downloading the latest updates from HTC that need a SN - I will be on the Vodafone network.
Any heads up regarding this ROM and problems would be very helpfull..
Thanks
Scott
Well I got mine on Xmas day and it came with 1.48. Have not had a single problem with the rom so far.
I have been undertaking some careful setup, eg installing Memmaid to clear out memory and sort out lockups, then installing a whole host of tweaks either from the thread here and/or by using BSB Tweaks, a marvellous tool also found on here.
When installing software I have done this one at a time then made a backup of the device, ran the software to make sure everything is ok before moving on and repeating the steps.
Sounds tedious but this way ,if there is a ****-up, I can easily roll back to the previous working point with minimum hassle.
If you are happy with the device and the keyboard does not phase you then life's too short- go for it!
Bear in mind that in the worst case HTC should be bringing out a revised rom soon (he hopes).
Hope this is helpful.
WB
Thanks for the feedback. I am so going to have this phone next month and am liking the advice about installing and taking the time to get it right. I will look at the pieces of software you have mentioned. Really appreciate the input -
Like you I am hoping that HTC will be bringing out ROM updates regularly and soon - I have read about 2.1 version being tested in the states on T-Mobile lets hope that we will see that soon.
Have you applied any of the official HTC patches to date?
Scott
No not applied any of the patches as I have not experienced any of the problems that the patches are meant to solve.
I am using ROM version 1-48. I am a very strong believer in the maxim that if it ain't broke don't f****** fix it!
WB
Hi,
I think with any new device there will always be teething problems and from what I've read here; the HD2 is no exception.
This is my third HTC device and each one of them have had their own little idiosyncrasies. However most of these were not apparent to me until they were pointed out :/
The main reason why I have chosen to get another HTC is because of this site and others like it. As soon as a fault is found, there's usuallly a fix around the corner.
So, with regards to your question about the ROM 1.48, I wouldn't worry, as as soon as the HSPL (?) is released, you'll be able to flash whatever ROM the chef's cook up Also I think with SSPL you can install custom ROMs now.
This will be my first HTC device - I am looking forward to having a touch screen phone that is not an iphone. The HD2 looks to be the business.
I reckon I will be okay if I encounter any problems I know where my first port of call will be...I have already learned so much just trowling the forum.
What is HSPL?
I agree with wacky's thoughts about if is not broken
Thanks for your input.
Scott
re hspl, have a look at:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=589642
hspl in a nutshell is a hack to allow you to install custom roms. they're almost got it ready for release. discussions about the hspl and speculation about its release can be quite entertaining.
Hello,
Tried several Android builds, most of them except shubCraft are TERRIBLE when you call someone and people on the other side can't understand what you're saying. I had a friend already asking me which phone do I use, I said HTC one and he replied he'll never buy an HTC phone because of how ****ty he can hear me.
It's not my phone or signal strenght - because in shubCraft build people can hear me okay, winmo aswell, plus i have 5bar signal.
Chefs, can you please check your build's voice quality first?! HD2 firstly is a phone, winmo/android/software h4cks come as second. I love playing with "cheffing", builds, roms, software, etc, but at the same time I want to simply be able to make a call like you can with any 10-15 year old mobile phone.
What radio are you using?
Using 2.12 radio
ive not used a shubcraft build but i have not had issues with not people hearing
i've this probleme ...i already test several radio....2.10 2.12 2.14 and 2.15
Of course chef's check they audio quality, look at what's written on the latest tweet: http://twitter.com/CotullaCode
I'm using radio 2.12.50.02.2 and honestly its brilliant, no complaints
Hi to all. I've bought my HD2 some weeks ago but I've noticed early a very poor sound quality. I have searched through XDA and other forums and I've found that many people had this problem. I've flashed ALL radio released for Leo with many Roms but the result was more or less the same: volume too high, crackling sound, distorsions. I've read somewhere (I don't remember where) that a guy had resolved flashing the latest Artemis Rom (v 40). I've made this final attempt too and, miracle , the sound in conversation was very very better, with no crackles and no distorsions. Sure it's not the best sound I've ever had from a phone but to phone is not an ear torture anymore. Why I must bought a phone worth about 500 euros to not have a very good sound it's another problem, although with a 100 euro Nokia I've a very good and clear sound. Anyway....... Perhaps are the latest drives released by HTC with 3.14 Rom or perhaps a magic trick by Sternas (Artemis' cooker). But I've resolved a major problem in my phone
I've written this post so who has the same problem may knows that all tricks and registry modifications made with old roms are without effect. Only using the latest rom can solve the problem.
Perhaps any new rom solves the problem, but I've tried only the Artemis. If someone has experienced the same with othere releases can write it down.
I am on stock ROM and I never had any issues with voice, actually its one of the best I have ever had.
I used Artemis 3.6 and 3.7 they were very good ROMs but WIFI was very weak,I changed the Radios 4 times but didnt solve issue.
I would like to use Artemis 4.0 or 4.1 but it doesnt support HSPL,therefore will have to wait for a new HSPl or will stay with stock 1.66.since there is no upgrade for my phone on HTC South East Asia website.
However I am happy for you that could solve your problem.

Sorry that HTC not released a version of new rom for SE Asia. I'm not much expert but perhaps you can try the method described here to flash a stock rom bypassing htc controls and then flash the new artemis
