Hi together,
I'm really frustrated, I try to cook my own rom and have a tricky problem with my Dialer.
The left softkey "contacts" when DialPad is active is invisible.
I can press the button and then i will be linked to my contacts, but the button is blank.
Core is WM 6.1
Please have a look to the attatched File.
Hope you can help me.

How to exclude applications from Gyrator2 (example: "in a call")

Hi there,
i tried to exclude some applications in Gyrator 2 menus but i do'nt know how to exclude rotation, when i'm in a call ( to end the call for example, the auto rotation makes the "endcall" button changing place and it's hard to end my call or when i'm listening to messages and want to delete one , the keypad changes orientation ....)
for all others apllications like photos albums, or today screen or other ..it is fine, i set everything with success.
Another question, in the input settings, i laways have by default the Compact Qwerty for the portrait mode and this is like this since i have installed Gyrator, and when i change the settings in the input menu for the Full Qwerty, it did nothing, it is always the Compact one that appears, ( when in landscape mode, the full qwerty is ok) ....
Events in the menu
....mine (I must admit I found someone elses & used it) has an even for incoming call.
I'll dig out the file & post it
Disable (Opera),Opera_MainWndClass,1,0,0,

...thanks , i already added an event for incoming call but it doesn't work when you are IN CALL , just worked before you take the call ..... that's my issue ....
I'm using S2P on my HD but is is buggy in combination with gyrator2 how can i disable S2P like opera etc.
thx

Try this...
Disable (Incoming_Call),Dialog,1,0,0,
Edit: made a mistake here, should be Disable (Incoming_Call),Dialog,1,0,0,,0
And what about the dialer?? Can anyone tell me what is the line to disable the dialer from preventing to rotate ??
how do i tell gyrator not to rotate when a picture is viewed?
right now it is spinning around which is very annoying.
when i tap on a picture in the pics tab the picture opens and often rotates twice so it is top at bottom

Add an event call Disable (Album), click Album in application tab and tick portrait in orientation tab. On the event list make sure the even is set to orientation (has a 1 to the right of it) and apply. Works great for me.
i tried that but it doesnt work.
gyrator doesnt seem to recognize the album application. it turns the picture one time too often for 90 degrees
i tried to choose the album application in the list which is calles "htcalbum class" and also the manual recognition. neither of that did work.
If you can, copy and paste here your event.ini from the Gryrator2 folder so I can see the settings your using.

i've that the problem with htc album is that yu rotate the device, htc album rotates itself, then gyrator rotates it again, then rotates it back again to the correct position. does that make sense? effectively the screen goes like this:
0°, 90°,180°,90°
is there a way of having gyrator just completely ignore htc album?
I uninstalled gyrator and tried gsen instead. this program works fine with photo album. now i have a problem where i can't get it to load on startup. i get an error saying it can't find the g sensor.

uninstalling and reinstalling gyrator seemed to fix it i was going crazy because my settings were exactly the same as yours! now, back to uni work...
I was wondering how to only use the gyrator on 1 specific program that isn't listed? I wanted to use it with Garmin. It works when I had it rotating everything, but it just seems to lag the phone and cause me to miss calls and what not, so I deleted all the events and when I try to go add another for Garmin, I don't see it on the list? Why is that?
And is anyone experiencing a more phone lag with the gyrator running or is it just me? Should I do a format to clear up any cluster I might have from previous uninstalls and reinstalls of programs?
Yes....I would like to know how to set the phone dial pad to NOT rotate also.
Not too sure what all these 1's and 0's mean...as when you go through the settings it has specific descriptions rather than numbers to pick from....

proximity sensor broken.ICS Aurora

Please i would like your help for an issue i have about my proximity sensor on my U8800.
after the call, the screen turns off and then can not be open again.
you should remove the battery to do reboot.
I do not have problems with the official 2.3.5
because (I think) in the call settings there is a option for opening or closing the proximity sensor.
in the ics aurora version I have the sensor problem and i can not disable the proximity sensor.
And i should in any inbound or outbound calls to pull the battery off in order reboot and continue the phone operation.
I have already made some corrections, in the file sensors.default.so, witch switched the proximity sensor out of operation.
But in the same time the auto rotation of the screen stoped its operation.
How could you help me switch the proximity sensor out of opperation and make the auto rotation of the screen work.

sorry my bad english.
any help??
happens tome sometimes too. Just hold power until it shoes then reboot
Sent from my u8800-51 running popura ICS
It would be hard to modify the sensors.default.so as it's compiled binary code. And simplest way to do it would be to rename the /dev/ entry; however that would also disable the light sensor.
I'd suggest you to do some code editing; I don't know whether the Phone.apk handles it or the frameworks, but if you decompile it you could find the code what is used to handle the proximity sensor and then just make it return 0 for example. But you should look up some tutorials on how to unpack it; how to understand smali code and so on.
Since I don't know if removing the permission does anything, check if you have /system/etc/permissions/android.hardware.sensor.proximity.xml . If you have it, remove it and reboot.
Or - try to search Google, you could find some information there.
the way about removing /system/etc/permissions/android.hardware.sensor.proximity.xml does not work!!!
Thanks i will try the other one!!
I think I found a way.. Open the sensors.default.so in HEX editor (Notepad++ may not do this properly); find /dev/proximity and modify it to /dev/proximitt for example (you can modify it to anything, just keep the same length. This way the proximity sensor info does not get reported to the Android.
