The beta is now available on the Android market, but only to some regions - unfortunately not including Japan. Could someone post a link to the apk? I assume rooted devices can get the apk?
Thanks!
Nevermind. Found it here:

wow, have been waiting for this since i got the phone
used to use it an lot on WM6
its weird now because the mouse stays in the same place in the middle of the screen and you move the screen around the mouse pointer.
It actually works pretty well once you get used to it.

You can change that in the options - you can move the mouse around too.

Yep, like the others said, you can change it so you have control of the mouse.

Hi,
In case you, like me, love the classic games such as the Monkey Island series, Broken Sword 1 & 2, and more... then you are also probably aware of ScummVM and how it allows us to play these games on our computers today as well as handhelds.
Though ScummVM does not support the wvga resolution yet, i posted the info on how to get it to run properly (with the ability to use the keyboard - finally) over at my blog: http://xperiancer.blogspot.com/2008/12/scummvm-on-xperia.html
Best Regards.

I tried it and it has potential, however, running it in 640x400 just plain sucks.
Running it fullscreen at 786x480 with 3x Interpolation would be a great gaming experience.
But dont mind me, I just hate black borders, especially when its totally unnecessarilly. (ofcourse i know wvga wasnt usual "back then")

I know exactly what you mean... i don't like the black area either. And if it hadn't been the damn addictive games playable on this, i wouldn't be using the software at all.
Here's to hoping that ScummVM guys can get us a WVGA version soon.

Stretched games don't look so good on widescreen displays, I think we need to stuck with 640x480 on these screens. Maybe the software keyboard could take up the place on the left or right side, so the black area disappears
Does the newest version support the X1's hardware keyboard?
@Norti
Like i said... once you make the app open to the side of they keyboard.. you can use the keyboard in any game possible. Even if the game uses no keys at all, i have set all shortcut keys on the keyboard (like pausing, saving, quitting, skipping, right-clicking, etc.)

Do the math, 786x480 IS the original aspect ratio (if my speedy calculations where correct). With the current version it uses only 640x400.
How it is now it just looks wrong, it just sits there in the left upper corner with borders on both the right side and below it.
btw, to rotate the screen, click the left monkey.

That works too... but is annoying - you have to do it everytime you start ScummVM and you have to click it in the right place ('cos the clicks are off when opened other way around).
Editing the INI file is an easy and quick way to set it the right way.
how did you actually map the hardware keyboard keys?
if I click on MAP (for the current action e.g. pause) and then press a key on the hardware keyboard it wont work.
the only button seeming to work is enter (for action).
can you give me a brief info on how to get the keys working?
thanks in advance
hi everyone!
i have some problem with the scumm vm on my new xperia.
i show you some pictures, that you maybe better understand what i mean
first of all, what is the difference between scummvm1 and 2?
http://img4.imageshack.us/i/p1000285i.jpg/
then, do you have the same small screen?
http://img190.imageshack.us/i/p1000288u.jpg/
other problem: the scumm-bar below, covers the letters (also of the items).
http://img3.imageshack.us/i/p1000289.jpg/
http://img3.imageshack.us/i/p1000287w.jpg/
and i can start scummvm just for one time, when i would like to start it again, an error shows up.
http://img3.imageshack.us/i/p1000290r.jpg/
(means that there's an error with scumm and ask me, if i want to send the problem to microsoft)
so what's wrong with my scumm?
hope someone can help me.
thanks very much!
ps: sorry for my english, try my best
Which version should i download, I downloaded the Windows Arm CE but i couldn't run the .exe from my xperia, am i even supposed to? if not can somebody instruct me how to install it plz
Hi,
i found this in another thread, i was just wondering whether any devlopers would be able to use this file and adapt it to work with the x1? I would do it myself but im useless at all this stuff... (and plus i dont know how.)
The file can be found through this link-
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=440141&highlight=screen+sensitivity&page=2
What good would it do you to have a mouse pointer on the X1 screen? If the OS isn't optimized for it, there'll be no real benefit.
I used the demo of True Connect for a while which lets you move your PC mouse off of the screen onto the X1 screen. Very slick, but ultimately just a novelty because it didn't add any useful functionality to the X1. If they added drag and drop they would be on to something.
Correct me if I'm wrong but, I think the only reason why this hasn't been done already is because on the driver side the optical pad output is digital, eg: just 4 directions, and not coordinate output, like say a mouse.
samsung omnia has this option, (change from 4 way scrolling to a mouse).
Would be great to have this on the Xperia
wow my first post xD
@korval
i have to correct you....
a standard PC mouse with an oldschool trackball has also only 2 axis to get 4 directions but you can move the pointet over the screen like you want....
jo do not need more than this two axis but the only thing is to detect both of them simultaniously......
and i Love the pointer on Omnia but i dint like the Omnia itselve...... its only my second "emergency" device
ah and sry für bad english im a german one xD
On Screen Mouse
I'd be keen for this as well - it would be a nice cool UI feature.
What is really annoying (and spose off topic), the use of the optical pad doesn't register as a button/screen press, so the password lock screen comes up while you are using the optical pad to scroll!
(i was forced to set a longer timeout.. ah well, can't have everything secure..)

Yip, thats what I meant! I think you explained it a bit better than I did.
And now i will quote here what ive also written in another thread for this:
I will donate 50€ for the one who do this that its working like on my Omnia.....
this is a promise!!!!!!
would anyone use a laptop touchpad only like arrow keys instead of a mouse pointer??? NO!!!!
Greetz
i dont get it.
why not use the touch screen?
what reasons would u need this for?
the reason is that i want to use my device some times (if im on the walk) with only one handy.... also to use the browser......
the TF3D and spb etc is good to handle in one hand but not the browser like obera and opera mini..... also the small checkboxex in some programs are too small.....
on omnia i never have to use the stylus and i want to have this feature on my X1 because it MUST be possible!!!!!!

I dont understand some people here. Why are certain users against an additional input method? Isnt it a fact that everything that broadens the spectrum of available possibilities is generally a good thing? Have we fallen under Apple philosophy that condemns options that were not intended by the developer of the phone?
For me its clear that I would highly appreciate any additional way to control my device, especially a mouse pointer since this could replace the stylus when on the move. Even the small checkboxes would not force me to pull out the stylus anymore. How can anybody not support this? I dont get it. Isnt WM about freedom of choice?
I dont think anyone is against it, its just any developers who have read this dont think its important enough at the moment to spend time on, especially if they have other ongoing projects. But feel free to develop it yourself, no one will criticise you for making it, and if you do make it I am sure plenty of people will use it. No one here is Steve Jobs. lol.

Is there a way to get pandora on the touch pro2?
Maybe this will work
Try this: the file is attached.
Let me know if it works.
I don't have a TP2 yet (but I will on Aug 12th)
Edit: Scroll down and look at my other post for other Pandora .cabs if the one in this post doesn't work.
Let me know your results, thanks.
What is this peeps?
Never heard of it.
Its an internet radio app, that lets the user type in artists that they like and then the app streams the songs to them based on their selection.

This functionally works but the menus and buttons do not. I can select a radio station but cannot pause/skip songs the buttons are viable but scattered in weird places across the bottom of the screen.

Hmm, that is no good.
I have an Excalibur right now and it is a non-touchscreen phone that works with this app. Have you tried using the directional pad in the TP2's keyboard for navigation?
I have contacted Pandora before and they said that they are working on a .cab that will work on any Windows Phone. I'm guessing that it will be released once the Marketplace is open. Until then, maybe one of these will work with the TP2 (attached)

Yes, the sound quality is 64 kbps aac I think so I would imagine that it doesn't sound that good. At least this is a working solution. In the furture when the official pandora.cab comes out I belive that it will be 64kbps aac+ which equates to 128kbps aac.

You have to find the Pandora exe in Program Files hold your finger down on it till a menu appears and hit copy. Then Navigate to My Device-->Windows-->Start Menu-->Programs in this folder scroll to the botton and right below the last file hold your finger down in the empty spot so no file is selected and when the menu pops up select paste shortcut.
Very nice... hope they launch the cab soon, but in the mid time this one work!
how do we get this thing to continue to work after the screen shuts off? kinda destroys the benfits...

The above cab file does work on the Tilt2. The text and everything else is still the same as the Pandora 2.0 release version, but atleast this cab has reworked buttons that can be used properly. Thanks to whoever re-wrote it.

When you say disable locking app, it will work. Can you elaborate a little more. I don't have any other lock app except the default WM lock which I dont use at all and Pandora will still stop when device sleeps.
I remember there was a reg edit for this before I will try to find it and try it out and reply with findings.
Also, is the cab link you posted the same as what was posted before?
Since they both have the same name I am assuming its the same one.
I've done some searching and can't find a keyboard input that only shows the up/down/right/left arrows. There are a few d-pad apps out there but they take up half the screen! All I need is to be able to switch my input from my regular keyboard to a directional one so I can turn the pages in my old scripture reader. A bar across the bottom, that didn't take up a ton of real estate, would be great.

No disrespect intended my man, but this is the first unhelpful post I've seen you make. He chose to buy a Mega, I chose to buy a Mega, some of us are limited in our choice of phone.
I happen to think the mega is the best phone I've ever had in my twenty...something years of life.
So no, we don't wanna buy another phone for 1 feature, he wants an app, a touch input that offers this feature to the phone he chose.
Dear Uppy,
It was never my serious intention to have somebody buy a new phone which is just out on the market nor offend Mega users....sorry if people read it that way.....
And after searching again did not find the application our friend wants.....unfortunately
Oh i wish some think like that exist ... i'd want it on my whitestone too... i was just wondering can any one extraxt the dpad of the ezinput and make it work like a seprate SIP... Lol that would be cool
Handwriting
For the moment I'm switching to the "handwriting" input whenever I need the arrows. It has arrows and doesn't use up as much room on the screen. Still, it could be better if it were just the row of arrows at the bottom.
Since if you google Ouya you get so much trash about will it make its way or not, I couldn't find detailed info about this. Sorry if I missed something. (The intro video makes you feel really welcome).
Pairing the Controller is absolutely no deal and as far as I know on PC it works. On Mac, the keys are mapped really strange and I couldn't even figure out to wich buttons. D-Pad works perfectly. Most other buttons just move the mouse to the top left. My general mapping software didnt work with it, so I'm wondering if anyone had the same idea.
As well as that I would like to get my own software to run with it, so it would be super to know which buttons are wich or so. (Mapping propperly alone would be great too).
Thanks for any comment here.

I was trying USB-Overdrive, and now ControllerMate.
For the latter I managed it to be playable, but I can't figure out how to turn of the "default" behaviour of everything. Because the curser still jumps to the top left of the screen.. On many games no problem, but sometimes...
