hi, not sure if this has been mentioned here before, but as netcounter doesn't seem to differentiate between WiFi and 3g data on HTC desire, is there another application I can use instead?

3g watchdog?
+1 for this
I've seen 3g watchdog but it doesn't show WiFi, only 3g. I was after something that would monitor both.

network monitor? shows both wifi and network data usage separately
And the same with NetTraffic, shows both network and Wifi usage.
NetSentry
Does exactly what you need and you can set a limit so you don't exceed your data usage.
i use data counter widget. seems to be very good.

Hi. I noticed that 3.5g data connectivity on my wildfire is rather slower as compared to my precious window mobile phone. Is there any way to tweak the settings to make it slightly faster?

Hello,
I want to turn the 3G connection off to save battery. However when i do so textmessages appear very late sometimes 4 hours late.
Does anyone know what the problem is?

So when out of WiFi area I've previously just tethered my old tablet to my phone and used the phones data connection via the dial up networking profile. I can't for the life of me figure how to do this on the N10. Any ideas?

I can't answer your question, but why not just use the wifi hotspot?
Unless of course you are using a phone that does not have that feature ...

Fair question. Two reasons really, 1) some Telco providers and/or devices don't support it, and 2) it usually doesn't work internationally whereas tethering using DUN does.

So I have searched and searched for an app that can monitor and control 4g LTE data as well as the other forms of data. I currently have data usage defender installed but its not seeing my 4G LTE usage. I have root so any app that you all know of that would meet my needs would be great.
Thanks in advance

Not sure what your looking for, but I use "My Data Manager" from play store. It monitors all usage, keeps track, and is very accurate when I compare to my usage from carrier. This is the first month I will be under my limit for the past 7 months.

It's always done it for me so I'm assuming it's normal

I'll also say my old Galaxy Nexus and HTC One X did the same - I'm almost 100% sure it's normal behavior in Android
If I'm not mistaken it's because your using 3g to call someone. Now if you were on 4G and try to call somebody most likely it would still say 4G on the top notification bar because it's using your non LTE band to call somebody and allows you to use LTE for data purposes so you would be able to hop on the internet and browse at the same time on a call. Now I know with AT&T you can call somebody and browse the internet while on 3G.
