Problem Opening a Document file - Touch2 General

I have just noticed that when i am trying to open a small (in size) doc file in my htc , the file just open normally. When i try this again for a file (approximately 600kb) an error message is poped up saying that i cannot be opened. Any solution???
P.S. i have already check in my templates for the doc template and it exists

Ok sorry i found the solution. I sould have first save them as an 1997-2003 format. But i am wondering doesn't this device supports 2007 formats????

May be Office 2010 will do the trick, look for it and try it on your phone.

strange icon in Games folder

I found a icon called "Icon" in the games folder (where jawbreaker & solitaire reside). When I try to open it it gives me this error message,
ceshell.dll,-162
Cannot find "ceshell" (or one if components). Make sure the path and filename are correct and all the required libraries are available.
There is also a file called "gamesico" in the WIndows folder, which gives the same response as above.
Please help!
Open the folder using file explorer and delete the icon.
Windows\Programs\Games
Cheerio
I've seena few posts on different sites about this. I also found this on Microsoft's site
http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/d...ry/en-us/wcemain4/html/cmrefceshellmodule.asp
Might be of help just to explain what it is / was, but not how it got there.

How do I install a cab file please

How do I install a cab file please.?On my Mda 2 ?I installed the mppc 2003 SE merged rom up date (from this site), on my MDA 2 and it worked oK for a couple of days then the device hard reset itself and there was no camera soft ware on it anymore. I thought if I installed the camera software on its own from this site that might be the answer. But it is in cab file form and I DONT KNOW WHERE TO BEGIN/ can anyone help please?
Installing a CAB file is easy...with ActiveSync, drag the file from your PC to your PDA (I drag them to the windows dir, but not sure if this is really necessary).
Then, go to your PDA, to the dir where you dropped the CAB, and just click it once...that is all.
About your other probs, I have no idea...I guess I need more info.
Good luck.
more details about installing cab files?
thanks for your answer. I'm hopeful - but I'm really not very technical. Can I ask more details? When I open the "camera cab file" I get a screen full of little icons all the same. Is each of these a seperate cab file? - do I open the "camera cab" folder, and then drag each one of these little icons seperately to my pocket pc document folder. Or should I NOT open the "camera" folder but just drag the WHOLE folder into my pocket pc document folder - and then active sync with my mda 2. I wish there was a site where I could see the instrucions clearly - with DIAGAMMEs! is there such a site? thanks...
copy the whole cab file

Cannot save Excel Files

Hi all,
When I try to save a changed excel file (that was created on my PC), I get the message that an error occured...(It's in dutch so I won't try to translate)
I CAN save it with another name or in another folder but I cannot save it "over" the old one.
Even after letting my Wizard convert it, I still cannot save it normaly when I change something in it..
Only If the Excel file is created on my ppc it works as it should.
I also tried saving the excel file to an older format (Excel 5.0 / 95 e.g.) But my Wizard can't even open these. (I am useing Excel 2002 / Office XP version)
This is a real pain, since even a small change in my sheet means that I have to rename the file and then delete the old one to prevent cluttering
Has anyone got any ideas that I havenot tried before?
thx,
Pfeffa-rah

Contacts are blank in VGA mode, Notes tab is ok.

I am having a problem getting my contacts to show. When I view a contact, all I see is a blank "Summary" page (tab). On the Notes tab, I can see whatever data should be there.
I had problems with ozVGA until I discovered that I needed to use the .92.DLLs that were on this site and not on the ozVGA's author's site. When I did copy these .92.dll files into the windows dir, all seemed great. However, at the end of the copy process, I had a pop-up that stated something (unknown which file) could not be copied and that either I ran out of space or a file was Read Only/ In Use / ROM or something to that effect. I checked each .92.dll file and all seemed fine as far as the RO attribute being off.
Does anyone have a clue what might be causing this? I was thinking outres.96.dll might be the culprit. Any ideas?
Here is what I think is important to know:
ROM info below in tag.
VGA via ozVGA (http://oz.sciox.org/OzVGA053.zip)
Started with VgaRes.zip (http://oz.sciox.org/VgaRes.zip)
Ended up putting VGA 1824 071105.zip on to fix lost and altered icons.
Thank you,
These are not the correct files. There is another zip on the FTP server named VGA_AKU2.zip. If I remember correctly it's in the
ftp://xda-developers.com/Universal/Tools_Programs/ folder, but I can't get to the ftp server at the moment but you'll find it.

Thank you very much, Joannaex!
Contacts shows blank
I had the same problem with blank contacts because I had issues with Voice Command. There was a suggestion to replace the outres.96.dll file with a newer version. When I did this, i started to notice the problem.
I'm assuming that this file is specific to the hardware you are using, maybe that is where I messed up. I am using a rare Benq P51. I tried renaming outres.96.dll to something else, then reboot the phone hoping that it would recreate itself. It did!
Tried contacts again and it is fully functional.
Hope that helps.

Wing- "This device is restricted from downloading this file type"

I have a feeling this problem has to do with Windows Mobile 6 security polices but am not sure exactly where to look. I get this error message when trying to download files using Internet Explorer sometimes.
One example is Handango Inhand, at http://mhgo.com/t-mobile/Welcome.jsp. I get the error "This device is restricted from downloading this file type" after clicking the "download file" link.
I've searched and read all the posts I can find about this message on google. The closest I came to an answer was it could have to do with Exchange server restrictions (I sync with one at work) so I removed the sync relationship and I have the same problem.
Anyone know a way around this error?
hard boot/reset fixed it. Still not sure what caused it.
