WiFi doesn't work on my Atom

I have an XDA Atom, it falls down on the floor and the screen broken
then I bought one from ebay and change it myself
but For no apparent reason the Wi-Fi stopped working, do hard reset and this time there's no WiFi even on the wireless manager, it's gone!!
Do O2 self diag gives me "Get Adapter Info () return FALSE"
Any other details to help me solve this?

try to reflash the unit, if you can't still use wifi. It could have been HW problem and not SW.

reflashing is not working. it's definitely HW issue.
so, do u know where the wifi chip located on the board, just want to look at it for curiosity

that I don't have any idea hahahaha. don't have a circuit diagram for the mobo of atom wish I could have that information as well....

i have the same problem after i broke my screen in a fall.
i went thru the diagnosis.. my WLAN and FMradio is gone.. same like urs..
cant detect the wlan and radio.. anyone help?

i think im having the same issue with my atom exec..just dropped it about 2ft from the ground..the screen not broken..but have problem with wifi signal..don't understand it..i can activate it..but hardly detect any signals and connect..pls help guys..

sorry bro, but the fact that it can be HW issue, then replacement is the only solution or fix with SC and or any technician that is knowledgable with the unit.

Actually my mobile not only fall down on the floor
but it's ran away and jump from my hand to the ceiling and fall down on the sharp arm of my bed
so that's it, lcd broken and I fix it but my W.lan is the only not working part

well if WLAN is the only thing that's not working, you can just leave it as is. it's better to have a broken WLAN than a paperweight unit right?

My wireless is not working. The wifi self diagnostic returns "GetAdapterInfo() return FALSE...".
Can you please help me in this problem???
I have Radio : R060822N_MN2ARC_RS00013
My wifi working sometimes well like may be once in 50 try. So it is not something related to hardware. and at that time wifi self diagnostic returns proper MAC address.
Can you please guide me which radio is latest one for O2 Atom exec and if this is not latest then from where I can download latest.
Looking for response.

problems with settings-connection

I flashed a new rom on my x1. now i wat to set the connections. SO I choose Start-settings connections. so i choose the first field, set it as celular, next, then I should smack in the number, i write it, but then after writing the number pressing next it get stuck.back, also I typed the number and then there is no go.
Any idea why? I smacked in jacks newest rom.
Pls help

this is strange because if I for example go for web sfr which is my provider I cant go online neither, nor can I switch on data in the communication manager
Anyone any idea what this could be?

I had this problem with jack's ROM in that it wouldn't connect to the internet even though i'd manually pasted in the settings. For me it was fixed by changing:
start/settings/system/regional settings
to England/GMT as the ROM sets it to US.
Soft reset then I could connect again....dunno whether you have the same problem.

Thx for the tip, I will check it, because like this its rather nerving.
I had massive problem with Jacks rom, thats why I dropped it and smacked in another one.
I dont say they are bad, just to many problems with them.

I can not turn on wifi in my htc elf

Hello, i need your help. I can´t turn on wifi in my device. I try with a lot of roms, radios, etc. but it impossible. When i touch de wifi icon the machine think a few seconds and then it stay in grey again. Sorry for my poor english.

I have the same problem here. I own an HTC TOUCH (ELFin) - IPL 2.21.002 / SPL 2.21.0000 and the original ROM from Orange (Spain). I can not tell you when it happened but i tried several ROMS and Radios and what is happening is: I go to Comm Manager, and tap on WLAN icon to turn it on, I see Windows spinning ball and finally I get the grey icon again.
Can somebody help me with this please? I really don´t know what to do

You write you tried many roms but your SPL shows your device is Cid locked Unless you flashed back you your original orange rom ? Anyway did you use wifi before flashing? did you try Settings/Connections and not only Commanager?

The wifi could not turn on, no matter what I did.
I tried other radios, other roms, my roms but wifi was not working.
I could not even see the MAC address of the wifi chip.
The field inside the Wifi program was empty.
So I was absolutely sure that the wifi chip was not working anymore.
But one day after about a year of non operating wifi I tried to change my rom.
After some flashing and installing I tried to start the wifi without hope.
And IT WORKED! And the MAC address was visible again!
I don't know how that happened, I don't know how to guide you to fix it,
but don't give up trying!

Hi there ! My girlfriend owns T-Mobile MDA Touch that has the same problem as described above: Pressing the grey WiFi icon (Comm Manager) > Thinking for a few secs > Icon stays grey. I spent last 2 days of searching for a solution without success. Even this forum seems too difficult to me. I don't understand to many terms too... I would really appreciate if someone patient helped me. I've already backuped the phone via WMDC (& Outlook) so far. I also tried the hard reset too but it didn't fixed the problem. I would also like to know if her T-Mobile MDA Touch equals HTC Elf ? Green & red button on her device is larger that on the picture of HTC Elf...

HP 6915 rom help me plsssss

I my problem to my HP 6915 device at about the rom after experiencing the difficulties.
phone features like voice echoed my device to be made to a malfunction. My bluetooth headset and sound in no way inserted into the headset did not reach.
I decided that the source of the problem is. Despite hard reset at the new ROM correct find and install from the Internet I
To solve the problem was no sound echo device is working fine.
wi-fi feature, but when I try to search for wireless networks I noticed

error during installation,
restart in the first screen when the device began to get labeled NO GSM there.

[Q] Can't activate Wifi.

It make some week i had problem to activate wifi on my HD. On comunication manager, it try some second to activate it, but at the end it still desactivated.
I try to flash rom (some french rom, some english rom, wm6.5, wm6.1...). I try also a lot of radio rom (1.14,1.13,1.12,1.09) and hard reset, but it still doesn't work.
I installed Wifi Monster wich tell me that no Compatible Wifi adapter is found when it try to launch wifi.
If i find no solution i can try to send it to waranty (which mean i'll need to put off all cooked stuff..), but as i go to travel next week, i'd like to find a solution for don't have to use expensive data connexion.
Is someone have one brillant idea ?

Have you tried using wm wifi router or HTC wifi router?

thank for your answer.
I try both solution without result. On wm wifi routeur, on first startup, it said wifi was not found and ask me to select an interface. I had choice between TNETTW12511 and WWAN1. I try both, but don't work. I start connection sharing but don't see asociated acces point. (wifi stat is at 0db).
Same problem with the other softs...

no other idea ?
I use SD card flash method with olinex SPL 1.56. Is it possible the problem come to that ?

Sounds like the wifi chip is dead - lots of people have reported the same thing happening, and the only option is to send it back to HTC for a repair. We had it happen to one of ours - never found out what caused it, but the camera died at the same time.
The people who've had repairs and looked inside say the boards have been replaced, so it's not just a flashing/firmware issue. Some suggest the design is bad and the antennas are just too close to the chipset, but of course HTC won't comment on that idea.

Too bad.
I'll send it to htc when i came back and i'll use data til that, but it will cost a lot ...
