last night i had about 65% battery at 1:30am and when i woke up at 10:30am i found my phone dead. i have taskiller full so i am sure my phone wasnt running any apps since i have it set to clear on screen off. anyone know apps to see whats eating my battery or say what your battery app does?
Killing apps often has the opposite effect that you intended. Sometimes because you killed an app, it will get stuck or crash and hold the phone in wakelock mode, meaning it will never sleep. This will drain the battery very fast.
Apps often restart automatically as well, so it's wasting battery to have them be killed and restarting all the time. Having it set to kill all apps on screen off is just about the absolute worst thing you can possibly do.
With the Nexus One, you don't need to kill your apps. Let Android handle it.

[Edit]:
For an app to see battery usage, you can use Android's built-in battery usage monitor. I'm not sure if you're aware of it.

Its weird that my battery drains very fast from 90 to 30 but after 30 it slows way down. My usage pattern is the same throughout the day as can be seen. Anyone know why that is?

Probably app related. Some apps, like Dropbox, will stop synching with the server once the battery gets to a certain level. Are you using any server intensive apps? Streaming?

You should calibrate your battery. I always do this after switching ROMs
I leave it charging overnight and, when I wake up, I delete the file 'batterystats.bin' with the phone still plugged (I don't remember in which folder, but there are some apps in the Market which delete it (Battery Calibration or something like that)), then I reboot and unplug it. Let the phone running until the battery hits 0%, then recharge it to 100% again. It should help you with your problem.
So I've been experiencing some very bad battery life ever since i got this phone. I get between 5-7 hours of battery life with an average of 3 hours of on screen time. I do use a lot of Spotify, Bluetooth and Instagram. Instagram makes my phone feel hot quickly. Like its using a lot of CPU. I've also noticed i got a few wakelocks. Any help? Anyone got any tips? I don't feel like deleting Instagram neither lol

I also have Instagram Greenified. If i didn't manually close Instagram before shutting the screen off, it would keep running in the background and keep my phone hot.
This might sound stupid, but it worked for me before, but have you tried just restarting the phone? One time I was getting terrible battery life over several battery cycles and doesn't know how to get rid of the wakelock so I restarted my phone and next cycles were a lot better. It might just be a "band-aid" for the real problem, but it might help some.
Hello.
So the name of the thread sums it all up: I get TERRIBLE battery life, barely two hours of screen on time. Why?
I am using the latest build of XOSP which many have said is the best for battery life, some getting 6 hours of screen on time. It dosen't last a day, 2 hours of screen on time is the max I can bet out of it even with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth turned off which I find very strange.

I even use Greenify and have hibernated basically all apps and I just can't understand to what I owe this drainage.
I am thinking of installing Boeffla, if so could you guys give me some cool Kernel settings below?
Cheers
You'll get your best battery on WiFi. You need to look at your signal strength and you will see if your phones getting weak signal it will chew through battery. Also boeffla on it's own is more performance. If you want battery change governor or try bluspark. Nothing really wrong with your stats other then mobile standby. Which I only get when I'm in bad coverage are for long periods of time.
Did u wipe cache and dalvik cache after flashing something?
Please do so if u didn't.
Also need the new rom to charge a few cycles before full potential on battery life.

So I have noticed that my battery has been struggling lately. I installed GSAM battery monitor and I was surprised at the results. I have the fist 2 screen shots were the drain overnight without use and the second after use throughout the day. Android system is by far the highest by % user of the battery. Interested if you have any suggestions or others have had this problem.

Diagmonagent is doing something horrible and stupid on your phone. It shouldn't be running much less taking up your entire battery! The easiest answer is to factory reset, but you can try disabling Diagmonagent with a package disabler and see if that helps.
Currently running stock 8.0 most recent firmware. Most I can possibly squeeze out is 2.5 hours of SOT with AOD enabled and about 50% screen brightness.
One other issue unrelated is that I simply can not get OEM unlocking to show up in dev options. I have updated manually with the update.zip to the newest firmware and waited multiple weeks and it still hasn't shown up. Not sure if this has anything to do with my horrible battery life. You may say that it seems normal but my battery is supposedly at 89% life and is only lasting until around 5pm, which I'm sure is not the case for most of you.
Relevant screenshots attached. Any help is appreciated!

The latest update seems to have caused this. Mine was affected too, but found a hard reset and careful managing of apps has helped. But still not as good as battery life on Nougat. Hoping the October patch will fix this....whenever that gets released.
I don't know why this is happening to some, but here i can't complain about anything... I am using it like before with all the apps that i have. I even didn't turn off the apps monitor etc.
i dont even use my phone like i used to, and its battery is crappy now ): guess i need to factory reset it so it can be lit as before
