control panel in notification drawer. - Nexus One General

hey guys, ive had my nexus for a while, but i switched over from an iphone and on the iphone there was a plug in called sb settings which allowed you to swipe your finger across the status bar and a small control panel would drop down giving you options to dim your screen, turn wifi and other toggles on and off, and gave you your system info all without having to leave the current app you were on. i was wondering if there is such a thing for android, where you have a control panel in the notification drawer.?

A free app called 'Bar Control' will let you put shortcuts in the notification bar.
I use this with 'Switches', a paid toggling app, and a free app 'Wifi Status' (that warns you if you have wifi on but no connection to a network).
HTH

Quick Settings free on the market will also do this. Nice little program I use it every day.

+1, works great (although it could do with a UI uplift).

It would be good, I'm stock so not sure if LED torch works with root.

the led torch app for the N1 defenitely requires root

Unlock Screen

Love the new Vibrant. Just got it yesterday, but not too fond of the unlock screen as far as the "sweep away" goes. Don't want the pattern unlock either. Suggestions?? Thanks in advance......
There are some good lockscreen replacements apps out there -- WidgetLocker, GOTO, etc. -- but they all seem to have their issues. In my experience, they can (at times) be laggy, show the desktop BEFORE showing the lock screen, and are at times flat out sappy looking. The GOTO lockscreen is *very* nice looking, I must say, but has some bugs to work out. My $.02 on that.
I've actually grown rather fond of the Samsung lockscreen. It let's you swipe any direction that feels natural to you, and is quite responsive. Maybe just keep trying it for awhile and see if it grows on you?
I suppose i'll give it a shot. Would be nice to use a pic of my kids and still have the same ability to swipe it away in any direction. Just not a big fan of the semi opaque screen. Might be a nice double for a picture frame or something. I'll keep trying. Thanks.
There's an app called No Lock that will take the lockscreen away. Works great.
myLock. Google it.

Same. works great. Comes with a widget for quick toggle.
Thanks. Loving No Lock already.
Love it!!! ))
aunlocker is nice but you have to pay for it
Simply Lockscreen Is the lockscreen replacement that I have been using for a few hours seems to work very well when you disable the "statusbar visibale:" and " Show original statusbar:" options.

Sorry, I want a widget to provide "power manager" wireless, data, etc. But in Others roms android "evo" etc, this widget is in the sliding window where is the battery, as a way to put it in froyo?
I'm not quite sure what you mean, but does this help at all?
It allows you to place shortcuts to apps in the notification bar which you can access by dragging it down.

Thanks, something similar is what I want, but bar control can include the powermanager as in this picture?

this is what I'm looking for, in the notification bar, sorry for not expressing myself better before, so it was that simple notification bar. thanks
I think that's part of the Cyanogen mods. I can't be 100% sure it's in all of them, but I know it's in the hd2one build.

You're right. The 'power widget in the notification bar' is included in Cyanogenmod 6.1 and up, and can't be flashed seperately. A decent CM based build for the HD2 is HD2ONE ROM. It's currently my daily driver .

A nice complement to Track Pad Wake

This is not my app, but it's a great find and I just thought I would share
Screen Off and Lock
Let's you lock the screen (turn it off) via a long press of the search button. Although there is NO widget, the app icon can be placed onto the home screen or a dock and essentially does the same exact thing.
So far it's working wonders for me, and is an awesome combination with Track Pad Wake.
If you like the app be sure to give it 5 stars and if your feeling generous buy the donate version. Links are provided below if your interested
NOTE: **Before you can UNINSTALL this app, please go to "Setting > Location and Security > Select device administrators" and then uncheck "Screen Off and Lock"**

Sounds good! Will try it out...
Like the voice commands more than something like this. Can't have another program taking over my long press on the search button. Plus a long press takes as much time as just hitting the power button on top.

I've been using this app for a few months now, and I have to say it's a great compliment to the trackpad. No longer do I have to rely solely on the power button to lock the phone. I actually configured the clock portion of Beautiful Widgets to run this screen lock application, so I don't have to have another shortcut on my home screen. It's simply hidden within the BW clock.
PS - Shouldn't this thread be in the apps/themes section?

Smaller Notifications in pull down Menu

Hello everybody,
Is there any possibility to make the notification text smaller or minimize the whole section?
Because I have some apps running which need background service and keeping them in notification area prevents them to get closed. Apps like fingersecurity or smart app lock.
But it's too big. It takes too much space.
I didn't find anything useful.
Greetings

A little suggestion.
In S5 settings/applications, uncheck notifications for apps that need permanent icons but keep them active in your standalone applications settings.
Icons and notifications will dissapear but your apps will be active
For example, in TSF shell that I use too, keep system persistent in its own settings, but uncheck notifications in phone settings/application.
(it works also for all in one gestures ).
Try and report, but must work (it does at least for me).
Sorry for poor english, hope you understand what I mean
Best regards
Franky
Absolutely know what you mean. got the same thought. But wanted to keep them in notification and make em smaller.
For now I will make it the way you suggested

Have a look to xposed modules if you're root, several ones allow to change notifications aspects, app settings to change DPI ratios (here on general settings, be aware, all will be change ) or maybe wanam xposed in notification panel options (not sure for the 2nd one, but try to change font format option).
Good luck
Franky
EDIT: OH, in wanam and notification panel options, you can also hide the keyboard icon as well :laugh:
Hi all! Any update regarding this? I didnĀ“t find any Xposed module that can help with this issue and I have 4 apps that are taking lots of space in the notification area!
Thanks in advance,
WR

Smart Stay Icon, No longer displays

Does anyone have this enabled?
And if so, do you see the icon at all?
Use to look a little like:

"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
I have not seen the icon appear once since having the feature enabled.
So am just wondering if they removed the icon from appearing because its not needed.
Or its just my device / Module conflicting
I used to have a Galaxy S3 and the icon was there...now on my S7 edge I have it enable and there's no icon.
Sent from my SM-G935T using Tapatalk
I have noticed it working.
i.e. Have it disabled and read a news page without touching the phone
and it will lock pretty quick.
Enable the feature and the device does not lock while am reading.
The icon was a nice clarification it was working.
No big problem, one less icon that clutters the nav bar.

No icon here. Anyway the options works fine with good environment light and the phone in vertical position.
Sended from my Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Gold Platinum
I haven't been able to get it to work at all for me. On my old S3 it worked fine for me, but not on the S7 in the same locations and lighting conditions.
I don't believe the S6 had that icon either. I do remember what you're talking about from my Note 10.1 2014 tablet though, along with a notification when it couldn't see your eyes and was about to turn off. The extra notification was a bit annoying, but a little icon to know it sees you would be nice.
I noted that sometimes, I don't know why, the "smart stay" function disable itself. What could it be?
