bt info....... does it work on android devices - XPERIA X10 General

Hi all... any one know if the application by the name of "bt info" works on android devices ???? it woked on my old se c902 however that device ran on a sybian os !!!
Any info would much appriciated ; )
Cheers

Googled BT info, checked compatible phones, you said the C902 is Symbian and according to the site, Xperia X1 Windows Mobile is compatible too, but does not list Xperia X10. Checked if any HTC android is on the list, but none, only HTC Windows Mobile platform in the list.
So I'm guessing, that won't work on X10 or other Android based phones.

K mate thanks for your help though. just got rid of my "astro file explorer" and put on "es file explorer" which seems to be so far considerably better eg... usr interface n functionality + has the push n pull, bt explorer function on it which i was after ..... bonus lol
Cheers

BT hacking software

Is there any BT software that can atach a device using bluetooth ? without
any confirmation on the target device ?
I heared that there is a software for that ,
I've been searching for this a while ago when I still had my simbian phone.
These are out of my bookmarks:

Thank you alexball ,
Did you find anything for symbian OS that works ?
Not really. i found a Program at Emule that is calles Bluetooth Master or BT-MASTER but it didn't work. They said in some other forums that it was fake.
I also read that it was much easyer to do this bluetooth hacking with linux since this os does not limit the bluetooth stack so much.
I really would be intrested in more info on that and on programs that run under Windows mobile.
unfortunatelly I do not have time to search for houres at the moment.

4,8" screen, GPS, 2GB...

I have discovered this GPS is a Windows Mobile! It's not a phone, but has beautiful specs, Active Sync inside, you can browse files in the 2GB flash memory, but read only files.
Please hack it!

Try to imagine what could you do with this features...it's better than a PSP, GPS onboard.

No where does it say that it is Win Mobile !!!
No windows mobile and even if sony wanted to put a OS on it, they would put symbian.
Actually it's a Windows CE 5 Core.
Most sat navs run with this these days.
PsiDOC
I'm assuming the OP found out when he connected it to a PC with ActiveSync installed and it started up the sync process..
As psiDOC says a lot of PND's do run winCE as the base OS.. Mainly 4.x mind but some recent ones have 5, there are some hacks around to change some of them back to a Windows Mobile devices..
Have a look round google or pocketgpsworld forums for information on this.. it will void warranty of course and i havent seen one for any nav-u devices yet
Yes, I understood was a WinCE when I connected to Active Sync. Folders structure is the same as my phone (imate SP5M), so I tought it was possible to do something.
This is a brand new model, so maybe nobody tried the hack yet.
But I'm not so expert about hacking, it would be possible on this nav?
It's not so much about hacking the unit, more like cooking up a rom for the device. I have been playing with GPS roms for a while and made basic hacks using a hex editor and then editing the checksums, but have never found a suitable rom kitchen to help with a complete rom rebuild.

Sony Media Go (PSN software) and Sony Ericsson's Media Sync (for OS X)

Ok I had a brain fart.
I didn't turn my phone to "mass-storage" mode in the "USB to PC" under Settings -> Connections. However this wasn't documented under the Media-Go section. I think X1 still isn't supported in "Media Go" to sync as a phone, but I think all software have no problem syncing with a mass storage device.
So far the 2 software works and I've found a 3rd software that seems to be even better which is Salling Media Sync at the link below.
http://www.salling.com/MediaSync/mac
Gonna keep playing and report back the best software to use. Between these and SyncMate I think the X1 is gonna be much more useful on my Mac!

Hi,
///////////////////// SONY MEDIA GO /////////////////////////////
Has anybody tried using the "Sony Media Go" software from PSN that is used to sync PSPs and Sony Ericsson phones on the X1? This is a software like iTunes and list to have function to connect to both PSP and SE phones.
The "Media Go" sees the phone as a WinM 5.1 device and tries to update the device forever. ActiveSync and Sony Update Service is installed and I can browse the phone no problem, so the phone is seen by Windows 7.
////////////////////////////// SONY ERICSSON MEDIA SYNC///////////////////
The same question regarding the "Sony Ericsson Media Sync" software from SE's X1 support page that claims to provide sync of media files from a iTunes and SE phones between OS X. I'm using Eltima's SyncMate basic with no problem syncing contacts and calendars.
I'm running a MacBook Pro (10.5) with bootcamp (Windows 7) and right now NEITHER works on for me. I'm thinking both software supports SE phones except the X1 because its the lone baster child that runs Windows Mobile which SE neither built nor coded. If this is proven true then it seems to go along with a lot of this boards's messages about SE not providing enough support for the X1 and forgot where I read a SE exec saying the X1 was a experiment. Still love the phone's hardware, but Windows Mobile and SE have proven to be subpare mobile players in my eye so far.
Has anyone tried the latest version of Sony Media Go? Does it officially support the X1 now? I'm hoping it gives better support for playlists in the official media panel for those of us that still use it.
http://www.sonycreativesoftware.com/products/mediago/default_enu.asp?page=download
It is listed as supporting the X2...
i personally think sony ericsson and all those other cellphone makers definitely need to develop their phone apps usable on mac os x OS, its very annoying
its about time that we get a SEUS app for OS X and even linux (tarball would be even fine)

Galaxy S + Android - The missing features

Hello everyone,
I just moved from a Samsung Omnia II (WinMo 6.5) to the Galaxy S (Android).
Well, I'm really in love with this device. Android reminds me the good old Palm days but on steroids . I believe it took me too long to move away from Windows Mobile.
But, as any OS newbie I'm missing some features. Instead of writing them down I thought it would be better to post them here. This way I might get some help but I'll also update my solutions so other freshmen will have a reference.
Here it goes:
1) Usb webcam - (something like WebCamera Plus from WM)*
* it seems hard to find usb apps for Android. Everything is either web or wifi based.
[PARTIALLY SOLVED] - Using Placaware USB Webcam . Video is working on several PC apps (e.g. Skype) but no audio. And the development is "frozen".
2) Driver Free Bluetooth presenter - I've found many on the market but they all rely on driver installation. I can't understand since windows has a BT protocol for that by default.
3) Pdf Printer - (something like FluidPDF VPrint for WM)
4) Good/Fast Encrypt Tool - like FreeOTFE4PDA on WM or TrueCrypt in Windows
[SOLVED] - Or at least partially solved using GP Pro (thanks to Android Market)
5) HP12C Emulator - can only find HP48.
6) Fax send/receive solution - like KSE Software Truefax Phone Edition in WM (believe me, some people still send/receive faxes
7) Metro Maps - like MetrO for WM
[SOLVED] - Using aMetro (thanks to spyrale at post #7)
8) USB auto file sync solution - like MobSync in WM
9) IE Favorites syncing - used to sync the WM and PC directories using MobSync
10) USB Device controller - like MyMobiler for WM. Again I can only find wifi solutions.
11) Top Explorer solution - like Resco Explorer in WM. I've been using Astro and Root Explorer but was hoping for a one single app that does the full job.
12) Skype type solution - what going on with these guys? Are they out of their minds thinking that people will buy an specific device just because it has skype on it? I've got the Skype beta for Android but I can't get a dial pad on it????
[SOLVED] - Using Nimbuzz (thanks to Kalikot at post #2)
13) Full Backup Solution - like Spb Backup in WM -Perhaps Titanium Backup does the job but I haven't figured ou how to use it (still learning)
14) Good Travel Management App - like Spb Traveler - I know I know... search in the Market - I have done it but the search function in the Market is kinda poor don't you agree?
15) Palm Emulator - like StyleTap on WM - Am I asking too much?
Themes and Customization - I've been trying to have a full black solution. I've been using LauncherPro + Folder Organizer and it's 90% done. I'll post some screen caps in the next days.
16) The only missing feature is a black notification area.
[SOLVED] Of course the solutiong was right here at xda (thanks to MacaronyMax.)
Edited 11/Oct
17) Video Editor - can't believe it doesn't come out of the box (maybe on Android 3.0 )
18) Better Search - the search function in Android doesn't lookup on all contact fields. Sometimes I want to search by a company name (like my car's dealer) and it won't find. WM had the same problem and it was slow. With Android the search is fast but only on name fields. That's a feature I miss since the good old Palm days.
[SOLVED] Using Power Search (thanks to Android Market)
Well, I'll keep this post up to date. Or will try my best since I've got a 9 months cutie at home
I dont know about the others but the best Skype solution atm is Nimbuzz which also has its own VOIP service. It has a delay during calls but there arent any other better options other than the complicated SIP routing.
Titanium Backup does its job even if you move from other custom roms or other firmware. Its wonderful and its worth the price for the additional batch backup/restore options
Hi... I moved from a Samsung Omnia i910 withWM 6.1pro.
The BIGGEST thing I miss from wm over android 2.1 eclair (I have not flashed any unofficial 2.2 roms) is something as simple as installing apps to the external sd card.
I know some apps on wm 6.1 were forced to install directly to the phone memory but with MOST apps you had the option to place on the external card to save ROM space.
It suprises me that such a sophisticated device as the SGS and such a powerful OS such is Android did not come out of the box this way.

Blame google and android pre2.1 , Froyo is said to be able to install to SD but frankly I've yet had need. Also what do you expect? Winmo has been out for what, 10 years or more? Android has only really started to take hold in last 3 years.
Post #1 Edited - two missing features solved and two more added.
unless there are others come from the sam Winmo background, else you need to provide the explanation of each WinMo apps
for metro maps have you tried aMetro?
for backup i use myBackupPro, simpler than titanium backup..
Boy I'm really enjoying Android. It's fast and clean like the good old Palm and still has all the capabilities of Windows Mobile.
I've been a handheld user since the very first Palm Professional and so far I've had only three killing devices:
1) Palm Professional - the good old one (still at home as a remote control hehe)
2) Palm Treo - I still miss the fun with that keyboard.
3) Samsung Galaxy "S" - loving it all the way. Android, great screen, swype etc etc....
One more Solved. USB Webcam (check post #1).

Best Kies Replacement now available!

well sorry If you guys know about it.
