Can't decide which rom to flash - Please help! - HD2 General

Here's my software info
OS Version
5.2.21889 (21889.5.0.87)
Rom Version
2.10.531.1 (82076) WWE
Radio version
2.08.50.08_2
I am having a really hard time deciding on a ROM to flash since it will be my first time. I heard that Energy and Kumar are fast and reliable but I wanted to here from people who already have it installed. What do you commend?
1. What I am really aiming for is something really really fast with not that many bugs, eye candy is not a major factor.
2. Will I have problems installing apps from OpenMarket or MarketPlace? For example...will I have a problem installing Garmin on a flashed ROM?
3. Will I lose MMS settings?
4. Is there a ROM that has Cookie Home Tab updated version 1.7.1?
I would really would appreciate for guidance. Thanks

Oh thank you very much.. now downloading..
Feed back please, such witch OS version for example?
Witch Radio version?
Thanks in advance.
Ok, I flashed this ROM earlier this evening.
OS: 5.2.21869 (21869)
MANILA: 1.0.19211620.0
ROM: 1.72.831.1(82124)WWE
ROM DATE: 03/01/10
Radio: 2.07.51.22_2
First impressions are that this Rom is very fast IMO, compared to 1.66 which I was running before. Signal seems to be slightly better than others, which for me wasn't too bad. Nothing new to look at. I will see what battery life is like tomorrow after a full nights charge.
ok, thanks a lot.
Hey anythin new in this official ROM except tweaks..???
Well those who have flashed, whats the build & RADIO..???
^ didnt you read 2 post before you?
btw.. I just want to ask did they fix the camera over exposure problem like in 2.10?

Fantastico! Download it now! Thank you!

I have flashed it yesterday. It runs well, but I dont see or feel any difference with previous stock ROM (1.48.831 WWE). I only find that when I use the HSDPA connection, the phone quickly becomes hotter comparing to the previous ROM and the battery drain quickly too.
Here is the data after I flashed it:
-OS Version 5.2.21869 (21869.5.0.82)
-Manila Version 1.0.19211620.0 (I wonder how to upgrade it to higher version. Can anybody tell me?)
-ROM Version 1.72.831.1 (82124) WWE
-ROM Date 03/01/10
-Radio Version 2.07.51.22_2
-Protocol Version 15.32.50.07U
Oh I forgot, the sms response is quicker than previous ROM. and the SPL version upgraded to SPL1.66.0000 XE. It means you have to downgrade it in order to use HSPL.
Actually, I expected that this ROM will unlock the RAM size, but it didnt. So, my RAM size remains 448 (what a pity!)
Cheers,
Installed it no problemo, though I haven't had enough time to play without nor did I notice any major shift from 1.66.

As far as I can tell, the only differences with this ROM and others I have tried, is speed and signal quality. Still waiting on battery test, I will know later today about battery though.
RAM is 448 with this ROM
I haven't noticed anything major. There is an issue with the keyboard however, there is only one English keyboard while the other 3 or 4 with Chinese support. Go figure.

Looking for Stability ROM

I personally don't mind the appearance of the HD2 as it is atm. I have CHTE and Cookies Mod so happy enough. My HD2 does however slow down and freeze a bit atm. So all in all I'm looking for a ROM that keeps the general appearance the same, retains as much functionality as possible but improves the stability and speed of my HD2. I've had a quick look over the ROMs available here but must admit I'm new and would really appreciate some advice as to which one to go for.
Here are my current specs,
OS - 5.2.21869 (21869.5.0.82)
Manila - 2.5.19211619
ROM - 1.66.405.2 (76641) WWE
ROM Date - (01/11/10)
Radio - 2.07.51.22_2
Protocol - 15.32.50.07U
Thanks
Artemis
I'm using Artemis V9.0 and I'm very happy about it. The philosophy of the ROM is "stock rom Philosophy" with additionnal functions, best drivers and stuffs available. The cooker Mr Sternas is following the Rom's thread daily and looks very "pro"
I think I might have looked at this one. I did like it but didn't it have the start buttonmoved to the bottom?
Yes but it's not a mod, it's the way the latest Windows Mobile build are...

Try Energy ROM with cooked in Cookie home tab and GTX Sense themed. It's a completely customized ROM... And don't forget to install chainfire's HD2 3D driver patch, it really makes HTC Sense faster
Oh is it. That's a shame. I lie t up top and out of the way
And perform Task 29 before flashing. It's prettty useful
Damn, I haven't a clue what I am doing. Some fun reading to do!
Task 29 + Artemis V.9 is the best of the best rom... very stable !!

[HELP] Need some advise on where to go with my HD2

Hi guys,
Right Ive had my HD2 since the start of the year and due to time/commitments ive not really done a lot with it, now quite simply I have a few applications which I use a fair bit, namely CoPilot ... anyhow Ive seen there is an update on the HTC website to ROM 1.72.206.3 and was looking at starting a fresh with this ROM.
Now before I go ahead and do this, is there a better ROM/Radio combo? my current specs are ...
OS - 5.2.21864 (21864.5.0.81)
Manila - 2.5.19202525.0
ROM - 1.43.206.4 (70315) WWE
ROMD - 11/06/2009
Radio - 2.04.50.22_2
Protocol - 15.26.50.07U
Currently on a contract with O2 UK ... so really what Im after, if this was your phone what steps would you do? e.g. ROM, Radio and any must do enhancements/installs
Cheers
Mike
Hi Mike,
I have an O2 phone and it also came with 1.43 ROM. I tried the latest 1.72 ROM, it was a bit better but I think half of this is the imagination/expectation that is should be, rather than actually being so (though there are two or three 'genuine' fixes there too).
I have been mostly recommending this ROM:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=612580
It made such a big difference I stopped looking at radio versions and registry tweaks. The S2U2 lock app is quite useful though, once you've customised its settings as desired.
I installed it using SSPL method BTW.
Have you got any issues that make you think "I'm going to bin this thing if it happens again"?
I've not bothered with the upgrade as if it ain't broke, don't fix it.
Before anyone *****es, the only issue that is apparent on my device, the SMS lagging, isn't exactly an issue to me. I see it more as a reminder to clear the crap out of the inbox!

Recommended software/firmware for newly debranded phone

What are the recommended patches, downloads, ROMs (I don't really understand many of the terms Radio etc and can't find anywhere on here that puts it into layman's terms) etc for a stable, nice looking Touch HD that's easy to use?
Current details are:
Operator version: 34.119.1.611
ROM version: 1.19.61.1 WWE
ROM date: 11/25/08
Radio version: 1.14.25.24
Protocol version: 52.64.25.34U
Windows is v6.1
Thanks.
a Rom is basically the operating system on your device. You can compare flashing a rom to installing windows on your PC.
You could try flashing a rom with windows mobile 6.5. I recommend Kwbr's rom with Manilla 2.1 if you want speed. This rom has TouchFlo3D just like the rom you are using now. If you want your device to look like the HD2 you could try a rom with Sense 2.5. bear in mind that Sense2.5 can be a bit slow, since it was designed for a phone with twice the speed of our blackstone.
You can find the Kwbr thread here
If you want to flash a rom, you should start by reading this
Thank you for the info and recommendations. The Manila is probably the one I'd use.
Cheers.

Audio speed too fast.

Hello.
When booting into an Android (2.2) based ROM, everything seems to be working fine. The only problem that I have come in contact with is the audio speed. Music plays too fast, is sped up, etc. I did make sure to click the "clrcad" file before booting into Android.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance!
what WM ROM u use??
you should update your wm ROM..
How do I find out which ROM I'm using?

I have the same problem, what can I do to resolve it? Im a rookie so please go easy on me
I'm running the minimal ChuckyDriod WM Rom with 2.12 radio rom and the combo works great for any android build I've tried.
Various stickies have info for flashing roms.

I had the same problem when I first installed android, running Chuckyrom and radio Leo_RADIO_2.12.50.02_2. I swapped the radio to Leo_RADIO_2.10.50.26** and that got rid of the audio problems.
Lately I've installed ChuckyDroid and are now running android without any major hick-ups.
