after 4 houers with my buss tur to bergen from stavanger, ( 3 houers until bergen ) i.want to say something this handsfree. the handsfree have radio and you can conect up to 3 phones.
first: of all radio's i testet on phone this handsfree has the best signal qualety. the sound qualety is also good. after 4 houers with constand radio on and bluetoth my baterie is still full. i paid 350 norwegian kroner what is about 35£ witch is the cheapest bluetoth hands free i ever have seen in norway. but! since the x10 has a bluetoth bug i strugelt to make calls with this handsfree. on my workphone(iphone) there is no such problem if even schows the clock when its connectet to the iphone. what i realy logt was the fact that i lissent music on my x10 and made a call from my work phone without doing annything with the andsfree. it automatecly pausd the music on the x10 and startet the call from my work phone (witch imprest me most) i only can say that ths hanrsfree es worth the kony. you get so mutch forlidel mony

Calling all XDa IIi owners...OPINIONS PLEASE

I had my XDA II stolen at gatwick airport last week (sniff sniff) and am now looking to replace it.
From the complete range of HTC PDA's the XDA IIi seems to be tickling my fancy the most but I haven't really come across a single comprehensive review.
So are people who have purchased it happy?
Whilst I am aware that there are problems with the camera I can live with it as long as it is not worse than the XDA II .
So what say you O Ye owners of the IIi?
Cheers!
I got mine last week and I'm honestly torn...
The camera is CR*P, completely so! But as I never used the one on the XDA2 for more than the odd picture message and photo record I'm not particularly bothered - though it's a cheek for O2 to pronounce it as a major step forward when in many ways it's a regressive one.
My major headache is the IR and Bluetooth...IR seems even worse now than on the XDA2 - unless I'm missing something - and the BT stack currently on my phone means I cannot use the O2 BT clip headset (made by iTech) due to this (in my opinion) stupid handsfree obsession. Surely it would be a good idea to have a headset AND a handsfree option that WORKS. I understand on some headsets it works a treat, but given I've got one being sold by O2 on their website I would normally assume it would work.
That said, the 2i is a great phone in itself and if I weren't already spoilt having had the XDA and XDA2 before it, I would be in absolute amazment.
They've finally managed to get the o2activeui thing in a state which isn't too bad and I may even consider keeping it - though it's harder to remove than in the past.
If you have to upgrade which it sounds as though you do given your circumstances, I'd choose the 2i over the 2s...at least the 2i is a better phone spec wise though without the keyboard (gimmick if you ask me).
Hope this helps (helped me to have the rant, anyway).
Cheers
Anthony
Thanks for the feedback Anthony. One thing that's slightly irritating me is a few places i've visited on the net state how previews often have some of the specs wrong on the O2 site it states that the IIi has 128MB SDRam and 128MB Flash......is this accurate?
Have you tried out the Wifi and if so what d'you reckon?
Does the faster processor make a noticeable difference? e.g on my XDA II I was running loads of today plug ins as well as several applications by default I'd do a soft re-set at least once a day
As for the IIs even though when I compare the II and the IIs side by side it doen't appear that much bigger it still has a bulky-ish look about it and I just don't find it appealing enough to contemplate a purchase.
Your feedback on the above would be appreciated
Cheers
This is on the box...
96MB ROM
128MB SDRAM
I have tried out the Wi-Fi and it seems OK to me, certainly it's a welcome feature. However I don't have a Wi-Fi card that I can compare experiences on...all I know is I didn't have one before and now I have a wi-fi connection. That can't be bad.
I don't have enough stuff loaded onto the phone to make a judgment on the processor. With the 2 I had lots of things running such as WeatherPanel and KitaraGenesis - also at one point Pocket Plus. From what I've seen so far the 2i does feel a bit faster...there's also a Turbo feature which does seem to further increase performance.
The 2i is exactly the same size I think, perhaps a smidge heavier. Having said that, if you compare most mobiles these days, the XDA series is no longer heavier than the majority. Besides, if you've got a PDA phone you're not expecting it to be light as a feather.
As I said previously, now you've got no option I would definitely go to the 2i...
Cheers
A
As to theWiFii hadaXDA2 witha SandiskWiFi Card, then changed to the XDA2s, then after 4 replacements i now have a XDA2i, ifind the XDA2i range and speed of reconnecting to WiFi very very good, the XDA2s worked as well asthe XDA2 + SD WiFi Card.
I like the 2ivery much, only problem is i gave away all my XDA2 bits when i got the 2s, so now i have lots of bits for a phone i dont have and a 2i with no spair bits, got i wish i haddent got rid of my old XDA2 bits
i still soft rest a few times aday, but i am used to donigthis now and dont have a problem doing it, The Bluetooth for headsets (jabbra 250) works as well on the 2i as it did on the old XDA2, where as the 2s was total crap
John
4 replacements???!!! care to elaborate?
Applecom, how do you find the camera?
Has the bluetooth improved at all? With my XDA II I also has a Jabra BT250 whilst I found it excellent at close range as soon as the device was in (or out) the metal proporta case and in my pocket I got alot of static...also can you now hear the different ringtones in your bluetooth headset or is it still the same generic one?
Finally, if I get the phone from O2 with their minimum line rental fee it works out to about 407 quid in total....anyone know of any cheaper places?
Thanks for the feedback once again guys.
After hearing about the new XDA2s i purchased a sim free PDA2k, but the microphone on it was crap and the bluetooth (headset) range was like 6 inches after that it sounded terrible.
So as soon as we could get a UK XDA2s we did ( we are a small phone shop) i got it sim free, This was just as crap as the PDA2k, Sothen i did a upgrade to a XDA2s with o2 Select, and of corse this was crap as well
(by crap i mean the mic was terrible people had problems hearing me, and the bluetooth headset only worked if you held the phone next to it, as a PDA it was sort of alright)
so after speaking to o2 about its problems and the fact the keybopard soon comes loose, it was changed probley every 2-3 weeks, never any better for phopne calls but of corse a new one the keyboard is still tight (for a while)
anyway after the 6th phone (4th o2 replacement) i changed it to a XDA2i
The camera in the XDA2i just gives a bigger crap picture, but at leat i can make phone calls on this one and people can hear me, and i dont have to drive down the road with my bluetooth ear piece in and have to hold the phone to the ear piece to use it
John
dear oh dear.....thats the strongest case i've EVER heard for NOT buying a phone...
Not to get on your nelly but can you now hear the different ringtones in your bluetooth headset or is it still the same generic one?
Cheers
Leroy
bump
my jabra 250 just makes the ring sound, just like on the old XDA2, no personalised ring tones, despite using IA Caller 1.2
Thank you all for the info
Does the movie function work better?
I know the camera makes a bigger "crap" photo but how is the video? On my XDAII, with all the today plug in's, the thing records crap even at the best settings. With a fresh ROM and nothing installed, I can get a decent video if I set the refresh rate and set it to daylight, (even for night shots), but after I install some programs, no settings can keep it from being choppy and slow or keep the sound in sync with the video.
Believe it or not, the video function, as bad as it is, actually saved my ass from going to jail.. If the XDA2i has better video performance, and it sounds like the BT is better, I want one... Is there any place besides eBay and O2?
Could someone tell us what version of the BT stack it is?
Any body try it with two serial ports yet? (One for a GPS and one for a Printer or POS device (like from Merchantanywhere.com).
Thank you for your time.
the bt stack on my xda2i is 1.0.0.3900
Mine is also 1.0.3900 and I can't use o2's bt clip headset with it....refuses to play ball yet others work fine.
Grrrrr
Need an update to sort this out.
By clip do you mean the earpiece, with a foot of wire then a clip on bluetooth reciever? If you do O2 sent one of them out to me but as i use a jabra 250 i never tried the clip thing.
Would you like me to try it with my XDA2i (also version 3900)
John
Have you made a decision on a purchase yet?
I have both an XDAII and an XDAIIi and would be willing to give some comparitive information regarding them. Or try to answer any specific questions you have about them.
On another note, what alternatives do we have here with regard to a Windows Mobile device?

Big trouble with BT handset on Orbit 2. Need Help.

Well....
I happiness owner of XDA Orbit 2 (same as HTC Polaris at other form factor).
All work very fine, but one thing just kill me.
Orbit not work propertly with BT handset (Jabra JX10). I tried all posible ROMs: Bepe, BlackWidow, Rus 6.1, original HTC Polaris (WM6.0), original Germany ROM from O2. With all ROM behavior of BT handset was the same:
1. HardReset
2. Search BT device and connect it
3. Tried make call to anybody (I call to my second phone, but it doest matter)
4. First 1-2 calls all good. Sound good, mic work.
5. Tried incoming call.
6. At handset normal alarm tone, press button and..... first 2-3 sec normal sound good - then just noise (as white noise) and mic blocked.
7. All other calls like char.6. Noise after 2-3 sec.
I tried to changed all posible value. BitPool, BitRate, WaveDev and all other.... Tried stoped many service who can block BT (OBEX, ActiveSync via BT). Nothing change.
I think about hardware malfunction, but when I tried connect other BT device like external GPS reciever or HP notebook - I get normal work via BlueTooth. So, it mean hardware of bluetoth works good and with BT not work only handset.
Please, help me.
I got the same problem, but slightly different: the first 2-3 phonecalls are perfect, then there will be no sound. I tried with my 2 blue tooth headser.
with my headset, it happens 2-3 tims also.
But I met once the phone is not working when I trying normal phonecall without BT ot any headset.
I tried different ROM, it remains the same.
Similar problems with HF Jabra SP5050
Hands-free functioning with my previous cheep Nokia was excellent. Now the same Jabra SP5050 with Polaris: TRAGEDY !!!

You mean Nokia BT handset worked with Polaris very well?
What model name its handset? I try to test with my smartphone.
updt. It seems I understood what you mean. So, it my situation. Both Jabra BT headset works good with all my Nokia phones and not work with Orbit 2 (Polaris).
Henry_Lee & others:
Try turn off and on again (5 sec later) Bluetooth on Your Polaris when headset is on. Is it working?
Do it every time you start using headset. Need patch from HTC.

Yep, its work. Thanks for that. But it black magic and not good solution.
updt. It work until to first sleep (power button) longer than 5-10 min.
Then again needed reboot BT on device. F...k.
So you said you tried all kinds of ROMs. There are some ROMs out there which include the test version of the Radio ROM. I'm a strong believer of the thought, that the Bluetooth part of the test Radio is flawed and leads to results like the one you suffer.
If I were you, I'd check my Radio ROM version and if it doesnt match the shipping one (which tops out at 1.58.21.23) I'd search for that version and flash it. After the flash, a Hardreset might not be the wrong thing to do.

I wrote later that I tried flash original ROM for O2 Orbit 2. It ROM contain radio 21.23. And nothing changes.
But, I not wish change radio ROM. Last radio ROM very well and good quality of GSM and fast GPS more important for me. The more so because, BT still not work.
up.....
At me and many my friends (with Cruis) a similar problem. The first, second call - all is good. Then - break of BT communication. Works with SE is better, the Jabra is worse

Yep, tha same ****.
Today I tried Motorola H680, it good work with O2....
I think, Orbit2 or Polaris not work with BT headset with bluetooth version 1.1-1.2. Only BT v.2 and it headset just last 1-2 year ago.
Is the problem solved ?
Hi everyone !
I've got the same problem with my Jabra BT Headset. But i've found a way to make it work : in fact you have to get your headset already powered-on when you launch BT on your Cruise. Then, you can have regular calls.
Sometimes, it seems to disconnect by itself, don't know why. You have to power off everything, reconnect BT Headset, then re-launch BT service on Cruise.
Have a try and keep in touch !
It seems to me, a problem not only in version BT 1.2 or 2.0. I speak so since has bought SE 712 w/BT 2.0 and has dug into the same problems.
Have you got some news about BT & Cruise ?
Plantronics 590E with Orbit 2 works flawlessly... Distance, sound quality and voice command function is perfect without any issues..
...and A2DP, AVRCP function is same also... with mp3 or movie files... (..need registry tweaks.. i'm find these tweaks in this forum..)
Sorry for my poor English... :|

Getting the Dell BH200 BT to work w/ the Fuze

I just recently acquired a stereo bluetooth headset from dell model number BH200 and so far the stereo music quality is superb, but the moment a call comes in or I pick up a call it immediately disconnects itself. My question would be if any of you guys have any experience with this issue. the Stereo bluetooth and handsfree profile are both set to active. Any suggestions or hints?
I'm going to go on a limb here and assume that you guys haven't had access to the aforementioned bluetooth and i'm short out of luck here... right?
p.s. SAY IT AINT SO!!!!
Hi, I also have the same headphones and the same problem - only on HTC Universal flashed with WM6.
I search a bit on Google and it seems that the problem is with MS Bluetooth stack - it was working correctly for WM5 (but no A2DP), now in WM6 A2DP works, but handsfree does not.
Right now I'm testing alternative BT stacks - started with UniBT (it's Broadcomm stack modified for Universal) - now A2DP works flawlessly (before that, it didn't), but handsfree/headphones mode does not. At least trying to receive the phone call doesn't turn the headphones off.
i tested my fuze with a jabra bt2010 and it works fine. I'd prefer to not carry 2 bluetooth devices so i'm trying to find a way for it to work. I've been suggested to use a widcomm bluetooth stack as well but i dont know how to change my stack. If anyone here does know how to do it, please do enlighten us.
It's been nearly a month so I'm going to bump this thread in hopes of someone might possibly have some insight into this.
Push/bump.
I got the S9 now, it works for both functions but craps out completely when i'm outside, really bad signal reception as well as "muffled sounds" according to my audiophilic and audiophobic friends.
I think it has to be something to do with the actual firmware inside the bh200 that is wreaking some unknown havoc.
Dell bluetooth headset BH200 not working with Sony Xperia X1i
I have a Dell Bluetooth headset model BH200 and in A2DP mode, works flawless but the moment it is used with handsfree mode for call, the connection is broken and the headset switches off itself. This headset works very well with other non WM6.1 devices. Any clues with anony one what should be done in this case, some people have suggested JETware Hands-free Extension , any one tried on this.
I actually gave up on the bh200 and got myself a jabra bt8010. it works like a charm and the sound is just as good as the bh200
Indeed... i used to have a WM device (Mio A501) and I had the WM6.1 Pro..
I bought this BT at that time and it didn't work on WM6.1 (it even didn't asked me the PIN to pair it) but, when I tried with WM5.0, everything worked great, great sound on call's music, etc.. now I have a Sapphire and I'm not able to make calls on it (music works), but since I'm not driving and people used to look like "what a crazy guy speaking in English alone, no cables, it must be a mp3 or something.. hmmm" when I was on a call, it doesn't make a huge difference
i have yet to try this on wm6.5 but I highly doubt there would be a change..i'll give an update when I do charge up the bh200
i charged the bh200 up completely and tested it out.. it was a failure.. looks like 6.5 did not do anything to help...
Maybe windows mobile 7 will work.......... maybe.
You can use BH200 on call by this way only(I tested)
1. Turn on BT
2. Accepted call(However just Turn on your BT after accept call is OK)
3. Turn on BH200
4. Pair ur PDA w/ BH200
5. Done
IS this thead still active? I have a solution
Guys..
Use Reg edit and make the following modifications in your WM device by creating a new DWORD value 0 with the parameter UseESCO. Check out the path
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Bluetooth\AudioGateway\UseESCO = DWORD:0 (Dont use space between UseESCO)
Then restart the phone and delete any previous BT devices on your phone, start up the paining process and get it to work.
worked flawlessly on my Dell BH200
Thanks,
Raj.
seriously????
the fix is in one freaking registry tweak????
I'll have to wait 2 months before i can test this since i left the damn thing to rot in the US while i'm here in thailand..-_-

Heya, Finally got back ot he US and tested out the BH200 with the fix you mentioned. it works!!!!!
although, i'm wondering if you're having problems with the bh200 not wanting to connect to the phone automatically.
Need help for the same problem in android
I am having similar issues on my Nexus one. Dell BH200 works for music playback but stops functioning when a call is made or received. Even the connection between the phone & BH200 gets lost.
I would be really glad to get some help on this.

Bluetooth to car?

Im new to the android system and am having difficulties pairing the Bluetooth of the X10 to my car system (this worked a dream with the X1). I know there are issues with the Bluetooth android 1.6 version but the spec of the phone included A2dp. Any ideas why the car can not pick up the phone were as phones 2-3 yrs older can?
i have bluetooth connection with x10 and carradio. turn on bluetooth, in setting you have turn on the option discovable ... blablabla ... and than search for the radio... and make connection ...
Sent from my X10i using the XDA mobile application powered by Tapatalk
Cheers for the reply. I managed to sort the issue out. Had to unpair the previous handset from the car. X10 works a dream now ;-)
And in synching your phone to the car all of your contacts get synched as well?
On my BMW BT phone-kit I only get about half of my approx. 600 phone contacts moved over. Anyone know what could be the problem here? The exact same contacts were always 100% glitch-free when synching with my old Rhodium (WM TP2) phone...?
Dialing, answering, speaking to the contacts I actually have in the car works fine, but... there are so many missing!
Cheers/M
In my car the X10 BT stops working after 1 minute according to the issues mentionned here (http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=3960#makechanges)
It's a pity

I have some contacts missing also.. From names S-Z.. I have no idea why this is .. When i manually dial the number from the car dial the number and name gets recognized. Very strange indeed Must be a limit on how many numbers are available to sync?
now i realize it's android's problem not x10's problem
that's a good thing to know....
cuz my x1 worked fine, and x10 borke my heart while it cant link to my car properly.....

fm radio hardware in x10

look at this site ,it states that x10 contains hardware fm radio is this true and will it be activated via os update like xperia x2 ? ,or iam mistaken
http://pdadb.net/index.php?m=specs&id=2081&c=sony_ericsson_xperia_x10a_se_rachael
In theory in nexus with froyo shows radio fm therefore in x10 with same chip snapdragon should be equal
yeah even i saw dat and was wonderin the same thing..
this is the same chipset as the HTC HD2 as well which has a decent FM tuner.. so may be year the hardware is there.. but I guess v need a brave person to do an in depth teardown of the device....
Who is up to the challenge??????????
I cant risk mine, just got it..
i think wireless chip is different from the processor
FM Radio is usually integrated on the bluetooth IC. HTC uses normally Texas Instruments' ICs, and the BRF 63x0 ic has radio, though it's usually disabled. The X10 uses a completely different chipset both for bluetooth and wlan. In fact, wlan is atheros.
So.... don't take it for granted. That's why they sell a headset with integrated radio

Is the chipsset in the X10 mini´s so mutch different from the X10 ?
Both X10 mini have FM-radio, but for some strage reason the BIG X10 have not ??
I belive that the hardware in the X10 do have FM-radio, but perhaps for some unknown reason S/E decided to not enable that feature...
Perhaps they had some big problems right before they put the X10 on the marked, and decided to disable the radio becource of that...
Anyway, in my mind it give no sense what so ever that the big X10 have NO radio inside, when they small do...
- so i am pretty shure it is "only" lack of software that is the issue...
I for one would love to get the FM-radio feature, i have allways used the FM-radio feature in my phones, and i actually didn´t notise when i bought my X10 that it didn´t have a simple thing as an FM-radio...
BTW:
Not all network providers sell the X10 package including the MW600, my provider have an other package with 16Gb memory instead...
Only one or two providers here in denmark have the MW600 in the sales package, but then they only get 8Gb memorycard instead...
(But i know that some providers arround the world have both MW600 and 16Gb memory in their sales packages...)
Bonus info...
I DID actually buy a MW600 for 3 weeks ago, and it worked really REALLY well, but that is dead now as my dear wife decided to wash my jacket with the MW600 still in it...
