I wanted to let everyone in the community know that Davinci client failed on an attempted flash of my X10 to R1FB001.
Log stated download was completed but file transfer had numerous errors and then stated "successfully updated"
DO NOT ATTEMPT or you will suffer the consequences.
Device vibrates on power up and then does nothing.
Email to support has yet to be answered.
If resolved I will follow up.
Try now to repair it via SEUS.
Had the same issue with my Satio.
10min later everything was fine and I had my Satio debranded + up and running.
I had the same massage from the client and it says succesfully completed but the phone didnt flash right. So what I did I reinstalled the software through SEUS and it flashed it back to Rogers software.
I almost thought I bricked my phone.
I already sent a massege to the team asking for a refund
Uhm... I just saw: R1FB001
Is that one already Generic?
Afaik, that one is a branded one from Latin America Providers?!?

I believe it is generic Brazil R9A, unbranded.
I got the device back with SEUS but it is still Rogers branded.
Stupid move using Davinci anyway but I am anxious to get the upgrade.

Any reply from them?
I haven't heard and it's been a day.
They shouldn't offer the sevice if it's inoperable.
These ones are available through Davinci:

The first one is the one I attempted to flash to. The client identified my device in one second. I spent 45 minutes downloading the files (768KB DSL) and another fifteen minutes watching one fail after another show in the log. Then the client states successfully updated and it was anything but.
Phone was essentially bricked but SEUS brought it back.
I don't have the balls to try it again with them.

They are online right _now_.
Talk to them to get your phone successfully debranded or your money back.
I've already flashed dozens of phones via their client.
It will work, as long as they don't tell something else...
Just got an email from them stating that issues were found with some of the packages.
They will email me when it has been rectified and I will post in case someone wants to go this route.
I'm hopeful it will be soon.

That's the one I was trying to flash.
I asked for a 10 credit refund also because I am not giving them another $14 USD to flash again when they get their act together.
I had success with Davinci with my K790c and W810i but failed with my
W760a and now the X10.

Re: Davinci Failed - X10 Debrand
I'm 100% sure both of you will get another 10 credits from them if you talk normal to them.
They're also humans like you and me.
I guess they have hundreds of service calls a day whereof 90% are user faults.
Simply take a look at the usual flasher forums.
Most failures are made, because the people don't ready the instructions correct.
You guys may count to the other 10% where something happened like a bad internet connection or, like in augie7107s case, he was lucky to catch some bad files.
But they reported to work on it.
After it is done, you guys will be able to flash that phones.

I agree.
I have had excellent results with Davinci in the past.
I only started this thread to let people know that it wasn't going well initially and I was quite nervous when I had a semi-dead device.
I have also flashed my X1 multiple times after hard_spl but have settled on WildChild's work as it is simply the best custom ROM work out there for the X1.
I have heard that Davinci has sorted this issue.

Vodafone UK are supplying almost all of their handsets UNLOCKED AS STANDARD,
(Blackberry Storm excluded, and a few others)
This means that NO UNLOCKING IS REQUIRED by code or otherwise, as no UK Magic is supplied locked, confirmed to me by the HTC Employee doing my product training, and by Vodafone Second Line Technical Support.
Should you source a UK Magic that is locked, VODAFONE UK WILL UNLOCK FOR FREE, for contract customers (different terms for PAYT and Enterprise)
PM me for any queries you may have.
unlock codes
ok, guess we shall wait and see. but my experience as a corporate buyer from vodagroan business
all have been locked recently and cant be unlocked if they have an exclusive. just me experience.
anyway unlocked for us htc magic users is still good news non the less.
The devices are supplied from a single SKU code (it is the same phone regardless of who/how supplied)
and they are all sim free.
I can confirm... my Vodafone Magic is supplied unlocked - my Three SIM works in it. I didn't get a 3G data connection, but that's probably just a configuration or network issue - I didn't get the time to look into it.
yea my magic also came unlocked, my o2 sim worked fine.
My Magic cam unlocked too. Can confirm that my Orange Sim works fine.
We don't have the same luck in Spain.
My Magic came sim locked.
I noticed their are already loads of these on e bay, oddly some are marked as unlocked & some not which is confusing?
All Magic are unlocked, some sales chimps from Vodafone do not know this and so the customers also don't know or bother to check
How safe is it too buy a Magic off ebay?
It's just I was reading a few horror stories about the G1 off ebay in the relevant part of this forum.

As i said, my Magic that i got from VF Spain came sim locked.
Maybe in UK and Germany are all unlocked. But based on my own experience, mine was locked.
I needed to buy a code in order to put a sim card from another company (another country).

I'm not sure if I can say the web page here (long time without reading the rules) but it was a very easy url link that appears one of the top when you search in google.
Something like unlock now, or similar.
Anybody in the U.S. been able to import one yet? Seriously interested in this phone
I can confirm that UK Vodafone Magic's seem to be unlocked..
I have just received one and it's working fine with an O2 Sim right out of the box!

I was that man...
I'm now running a Magic - bought in store at a Phones4U retail outlet as a "handset only" deal. The sales guy was very helpful and tested it out with my O2 SIM before I purchased. Cost GBP440 - about 100 more than they're going for on eBay but I couldn't face the risk again.
Caveat emptor big time..
I have an i8000L coming, I guess it is network locked to TIGO, somewhere in South America. Where is everyone else getting theirs and how are they unlocking it? Anything useful would be appreciated. Thanks.

Confirmed: TIGO - Guatemala (i8000L)
WM6.1
PDA: I8000LUBIH5
CSC: I8000LCGUIH2
PHONE: I8000LWMIH2
I have an "L" too. Mine was unlocked by the operator for free.
Nobody else has an i8000L?
I have a i8000L. I got mine from Bell/Aliant in Canada.
One thing to keep in mind is that when flashing a new ROM onto a i8000L... it's recommended by Rodrigofd at Modaco to ONLY flash the PDA section and leave the CSC, eBoot, and Phone parts alone. Flashing the PDA has almost no risk and I have the original ROM posted here (for backup): modaco.com/category/424/i8000-omnia-ii-gsm-rom-discussion/
You can find more info about flashing on that site. Hopefully XDA can catch up soon
Thanks for your response. I have been looking through the Modaco forums and have noticed that Omnia 2 flashing does look quite different than HTC flashing. This is another reason I'm interested about others i8000L devices. Most people it seems have the phone from Bell.
You'll need to flash that eboot to get additional 5mb of ram released by rom JA5.
BTW. i8000L canadian versions can ONLY be unlocked by Bell at the moment.
That is VERY good to know and explains why I see so many BELL versions sitting on ebay unsold.

Well, got my phone. After poking around a bit, I ordered my unlock code. It will supposedly take 5-7 days, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. I'll update you all if it worked or not and by whom.
i8000L Bell unlock service
if you do end up getting your phone unlocked please let me know too. Mine is still Bell branded and locked and nobody can help me in getting it unlocked. Even Bell tech support wasn't sure how they could do it since I don't live in Canada....they said to take it in to a service center. It's a long drive from Florida for me
Gordon
You might be SOL for the time being. Why did you buy a locked Bell phone from canada? Bell support is lying if they say they can't do it. They have the codes on hand but not a lot of staff know about it or know how to look for the codes. They just won't give it out if you're not a customer.
I have also a I8000L from the operator ICE Costa Rica with win 6.1. It seems my phone operator doesnt offer an upgrade to win 6.5.

if anyone finds how to unlock the omnia 2 from bell, please let me know. I really want to buy it and use on rogers...
I should have a response this week from the website I ordered my code from.
Well, I gave it the old college try. I was sent a refund by the website, mobileunlocked.com.
Well, moving on..... I guess I should have just bought an unlocked O2.
ahhhh, that blows was hoping they send you the code and everything worked good, so i can go get my omnia 2 and unlock it also
only way i know is if you are a bell owner is to call up bell. They will charge you 75 dollars but they will unlock the phone.
Also i have read they only do it if you are a bell customer

Any luck yet? I really want this phone for AT&T's 850MHz band.
i have tried many places and none of them were able to provide unlock code for AT&T's X10a. but my last hope (the code) came in today and unlocked my X10a right away. am i the first one who has unlocked AT&T's version by code instead of cable?
edit: 12/18/2010
hi, guys
in order to get unlock code i need correct info to be filled out as a note/message, when you make payment at paypal.
please do not PM me with any info, it is very easy to lost track of PMs you are welcome to notify me about your donation though.
1. IMEI and S/N (serial number) under your battery
2. exact model and which network your phone is locked to
3. your XDA ID (to notify you when your code is ready)
4. i can only send code to paypal verified email address, the one when you register/make payment with paypal.
please note, it takes 7-10 days to get code.
thanks
Can you provide more info and/or explain more, thanks.

X10 Unlock
From my side.. it's three weeks that I'm trying to unlock this damn piece of cell phone, but no way.
At first I was quite confident wit cellunlockers.net, but after 10 days they refund my money saying -no way-.
Then I tried mobileincanada.com who where really very fast, they refunded my money after only 40 minutes
Last try with unlocking.com, after 10 days they were still looking for excuses, they did not find any code (on their web site they promise a next day solution!) so I asked for a refund, that they did not want to give me !!!
I opened a debate on paypal and after a couple of days I had my money back, but the cell phone is still locked..
So if anyone has a solution, please help ! AT&T supplies the unlock sequence (for free) only after 90 days from the purchase....
I too am having no luck with my X10 from AT&T so if theres not development I am going to go ahead and sell the phone....
Update: Got it Unlocked from Cellunlocker.net (Cable method)....

Agreed. I have tried to get the unlock code for my AT&T X10a for 2 months with no success. Gave Lancez my S/N and IMEI and 10 days later received my unlock code as a PM. Inserted a different SIM card in my phone, entered the code and VOLA..! The phone was network unlocked! No pain, no hassle.
This morning I called O2 to check on my PAYG order and was told it is out of stock so the order was not processed. Went to the local O2 and bought one! Very happy!
Quick notes below and I will add more info later. If you have questions please ask:
1. Screen is AMAZING - looks like a high-gloss magazine print, but very little reflections.
2. The device is SIM locked to O2. In store I was told it is locked for a year but I can unlock it with after market shops and services (non-O2). I already had an O2 PAYG SIM so no need to buy one. Vodafone SIM requires Network Lock Control Key. Will checkout online unlock options.
UPDATE: Paid online for unlock service at http://www.mobileunlocked.co.uk/. Tracking informations states 'Order in Progress with Bulk Supplier. Delivery Time: 6 to 12 Hours from order time'.
UPDATE 2: Got unlock code back in 11 minutes! Unlock successful!
3. O2 stuff: Wallpaper is a panorama view of the O2 arena area (actually nice!). Boot and shutdown screens are with O2 logo. No other O2 stuff and no O2 apps.
4. About info:
Kernel version: 2.6.35.7-I9100XWKDD-CL161513
Build number: GINGERBREAD.XWKDD
Baseband version: I9100XXKDH
Congratulations...you'll enjoy it very much

Are you sure it is SIM free? Mine wasn't and it doesn't seem likely they have both SIM-locked and SIM-free devices.
I got mine in North Finchley. They had one unit and I asked to reserve for me and they did.
I really hate the O2 logo on boot and shutdown. Anyway to remove it?
Well it has my vodafone sim card in it now and its working. It was the first sim card ever put into the device.
My phone is under warranty but Sony wont repair it saying it is a non UK model. My symptoms are no power totally dead.
How can I find out what market my phone was from as I have been told I can get it repaired under warranty but just not here in the UK, Which is silly.
They say they cant power it on but seem to know its a foreign non UK handset does anyone here know how they can tell as I thought they had to get into the software to find this out. The serial number is CB511G68C7 if this sheds some light on this.
I fear I may have to sell this on as spares if I cant find out this info, they also tell me they have wiped the phone for data protection but how can they do this if it cant be powered on.
Its so annoying that I can get it repaired but need to find the market/country it was made for.
Thanks for any help on this guys.
I forgot to mention that around 6 weeks ago I used a custom rom to get Gingerbread onto it the file version I used was "X10I 3.0.1.G.0.75-1241-1846"
Would this make them think my handset was a non UK model as I did this Generic custom rom using the flash tool but never rooted my handset.
Then again they would need the phone powered up to see this wouldnt they?
Thanks again for any help with this matter.

Yes I have the receipt it was purchased from Play but I have contacted them and they cant even say what market it was for and all I was aware is that everything indicated that it was a UK model.
Sony s repair centre have also told me that this thing happens quite often from various internet sites.
Surely Sony can tell me or know somehow what market it was made for, It could be Canada, america etc. but could do with finding out.
Thanks again for the help.

Helpline not being helpful just dont know what can be done, I have contacted trading standards who say I have to write to play and let them know my rights under the sale of goods act. Apparently its who I give money to (the point of sale) that has to sort this out.
I emailed them this afternoon but no reply back so tomorrow I am sending them a letter by recorded delivery but im not holding out for anything to get sorted.
