Hi, new member here. Just bought my T-Mobile HD2 about 4 days ago.
First I want to say a big thank you to all the mods/senior members/and contributors for creating such a wonderful forum and resource centre for the HD2.
I've read most of the stickied threads and noob guides, but before I get started with flashing my T-Mobile HD2, there are some concerns and questions I wish to clarify:
My T-Mobile software specs (completely stock, purchased on the 24th Apr 2010) :
OS version 5.2.21889 (21889.5.0.87)
Manila Version 2.5.20121412.1
Rom version 2.10.531.1 (82076) WWE
Rom date 02/22/10
Radio version 2.08.50.08_2
What I wish to do to my T-Mobile HD2 :
1) SIM unlock the phone so I can use any carrier/SIM card from any service provider, anywhere around the globe, since I'm a frequent traveller.
2) Traditional Chinese support, more specifically Taiwanese language support. I have loads of files in Traditional Chinese and having the Asian language support is my top priority.
3) Flash the T-Mobile HD2 to the original HTC Taiwan rom, but retaining the full 576mb ram and 1gb Rom spec. OR Source some cooked rom that contains Traditional Chinese support (Trad Chinese = Taiwanese) that is compatible with the T-Mobile HD2 spec.
So.... from my understanding, based on the stickied threads on this forum, I need to perform the following :
1) Flash HARDSPL
2) Flash the appropriate rom (Which I can't find, I tried everywhere)
3) Flash the appropriate radio (Not sure if its 100% necessary)
4) Hard reset
Am I going on the right track? Please advise, and thanks in advance.
Bump.
A language pack would do the job, I don't really have to flash my phone to a traditional chinese rom.
Any idea where I can source such language pack? I googled everywhere but can't seem to find a T-Mobile compatiable pack.
asian language

the htc msg interface does not allow asian fonts.
but surely the official HTC taiwanese rom should support asian fonts?

Its a good job you havent found an official taiwanese rom, if you flash that rom (should you find it) you will kill your phone.
Your phone can ONLY support the tmous offical 2.x rom, or cooked roms based on that 2.x rom.
The taiwanese rom, should you find it, will:-
1 - be version 1.66 (probably) so wont run
2 - will include a radio, almost certainly a ..51.. radio - result? bricked phone.
Your best option is a tmous compatible cooked rom with the correct language.
no, what I meant was to extract the font from the taiwanese rom. I've been doing some googling and digging on various forums, apprantely you can get a language pack installed, but the links are dead : (
http://ricky119.com/chinesesupport/
Search for "MS Arial unicode font". It's what that website fonts are based on. Be warned that it is a whopping 22 Mb since it is a full Unicode set.
Having the font installed allows you to read Chinese. It will not change the entire wm 6.5 menu into that language.
Also, It does not integrate into the current keyboard software. For Chinese input, you still need something like the one I suggested in my earlier post.

Hi, does anyone know how to extract ezinput from an offcial rom?
I am using 1.48 Asia WWE ROM. There is htc ezinput which supports chinese input.
Is there a method for me to extract ezinput so that i can still use asia WWE version of eziuput on custom ROMs.
(Please don't bother other problems related to language, assuming that i can manage to tweak the custom rom to display chinese characters correctly.)
Thank you.

Yes it can. If you download one of my ROM's in the HD section you will find in the enclosed Extendir folder under Setups some cab files. IME EZinput & WesternEngine. I also have the IME CHS EZInput cab.
Just follow the link in my signature.

I actually have it extracted and make it into a cab (and posted in one of the thread under themes & application) .
But it didn't work so I have narrowed down a reg setting that's missing that could solve the issue. Just need tester

apart from building the CAB from the package, did you add in any additional registry/file to make it work? Or did you cook the ROM based on HK ROM using the package? Because I think there's additional file/registry need to be changed in order for the cab to work on a pure WWE ROM.
So far I have spotted 1 reg and 1 file, but I like to hear from you to confirm.
@cshuwing, my bad, I thought you were referring to CHS as you were asking for Asia WWE. I think CHT is only for HK WWE, not ASia WWE, or at least that's my impression thus my jumping conclusion that you are looking for a CHS ezinput.

It would be great if you could write a small tutorial on how you extracted the files for language support, created the cabs, and what tools you used. I am sure many people would greatly appreciate your efforts.

kind of missing CHS/JPN support now......
also missing Japanese laguage in my HD2 rom
I am living in Japan with my new HD2 wich I bought in the UK during my Christmas holiday in Europe.
I receive some Japanese emails and sms, but can not display the characters on my HD2, and also not reply in Japanese.
Not sure if the HD2 is available with Japanese language, but I hope for some kind of solution in the near future.
I tryed a cab file which I used on my Touch Pro. It enables me to disply Japanese on my HD2, but the on screen keyboard which comes with is not useable without stylus unfortunately.
Any ideas are welcome.

In case anyone wants the files without DLing the entire ROM... I posted them up on rapidshare

Has anyone had any success using these without baking them into a rom? Interested in knowing if/how they were able to get up and running on a WWE phone.

I just did yesterday. Reboot was successful after installing the first cab. Phone turned into a BRICK after rebooting from 2nd cab installation !
Phone hung at the first screen, which displayed the software version info. After about 60-90 secs, an error message was shown stating that "the phone was not able to boot due to software installation of untrusted. Press Volume Up button to reset or any button to cancel the operation. This operation will delete all your personal data, and reset all settings to manufacturer default"
Actually, the above instruction is incorrect. I did not have the HD2 user manual PDF and also am using the HD2 as Internet access gateway for my laptop. Man, was I in dire straits. Called up HTC hotline for help but ended up I had to rush down to a HTC Care Centre this morn.
The HTC Care Centre guy had to re-flash the 1.66 rom back onto my HD2. I did a full restore from my Sprite backup. But now I encountered a problem where my lock screen would not come back on when pressing the Power Up/End button.

Anyone have the "IME CHS EZInput 2.1" file, in cab format or otherwise? I've downloaded a couple of LIA roms, but none of them have it in the Extendir\Setups\EzInput WWE Keyboard directory. Those file sharing services only let you download so much in one day.
This is a link to the Ezinput (actually called "Touch Input") file from the official ROM. It uses simplified Chinese. It has a minor problem, the soft keyboard is squashed when the keyboard is out. However, if the keyboard is out then you don't need the soft keyboard!

I am currently living in China and I bought a HTC HD2 with a chinese version of wm6.5 etc..
I love flashing new cooked roms but always seem to runinto the chinese input problem. Some romz come with ezInput with Chinese Simplified Support and others simply don't.
any way we could get a simple cab file to add support to any rom we choose to use? ( I hate CE star and about 10 other IME keyboards packages) the one from HTC really seems finger friendly.
If I am the only one who is looking for this then sorry for the new thread.

I made one but from the reports and my trials it doesn't seem to work on the HD2. It did work on the HD. Not sure why it does not work on the HD2. Also it has also been some experience where if you install the CHS over the WWE there is some times problems with predictive text.
I have made a ROM with CHS built in and also Zenkinz has one. The best solution for now.
thanks .... wow that is sorta heart breaking...
I really like the kwbr rom I have now ... but no CHS input
you really think its not going to be possible anytime soon?
hehe...i made a CAB from Asia 1.66 rom myself.
And happy that it did running in HD but regret HD2 doesnt...
i am not sure why and how to make WWE rom can use the Chinese EZinput.
hope someone can figure it out...
yeah I took a look at the rom lost in asia with CHS support. I was soooo lost can't even extract the nbh file into anything useful .. ( it was like a chimp trying to start a BMW with out keys )
looks like I am going to have to learn how to cook romz just so I can add keyboard support to em .. omg I am so screwed ...

Don't try to extract it just flash the ROM. Read the Flashing Instruction for HSPL.
no no ... not what I meant ... I get it flashing roms.. no sweat now due to all the hard work done here by people in XDA.
my point was that in order to add CHS IME to roms that doesn't support it.
I would have to start cooking and such.
Hi All,
I recently bought a US T-mobile HD2 1024LEO and here's the factory specs:
SPL-2.10.0000
OS 5.2.21892
Manila 2.5.20121412.2
Rom 2.13.531.1
Radio 2.10.50.26
Rom Size 1024MB
I would like to flash the official Chinese ROM I found in the XDA-China site:
xda-china.net/viewthread.php?tid=59333&extra=page%3D1%26amp;filter%3Dtype%26amp;typeid%3D1
It is: LEO/HD2_RUU_2.13_21905_CHS
How do I find out if this would work with 1024LEO? I tried running this RUU without installing HSPL2_1024. I went thru each step and when it came to the % completion page, it just stayed there, and nothing happened after that. I disconnected it, and restarted my HD2.
Do I need to downgrade my ROM first to 2.08, then flash HSPL2_1024, then flash this Chinese ROM? I want to make sure before I accidentally brick this new phone.
Your feedback is greatly appreciated.
512 or 1024LEO
My biggest concern is whether the ROMs, whether it be Chinese or other language, are specifically designed for 512MB or 1024MB ROM Size LEO's. Can you use it to flash both machines? Can you accidentally brick the phone because your phone is 1024 and the ROM was designed for 512?
Thank you.
Don't think you can flash that ROM to your T-Mobile US HD2. It might brick your phone. You are correct in assuming that 512 Leo ROMs will not work at all on 1024 versions. I do not know of any Chinese language based T-Mobile US ROMs, however that does not mean that none exist.
~Jasecloud4
you can't flash this rom....it's a 2.13 rom......most of 2.10 rom are safe to use.
I flashed 100 chinese rom to my TMUS LEO.....never bricked..
going on version number alone (2.13) you would assume you could flash it, however considering there are no other non tmous roms that work, it's almost certainly not worth the risk. PLus, you didnt say what radio version it comes with. Its the radios that kill tmous more than the roms, you should be really wary of flashing this rom in my opinion.
My HD2 now running official Chinese ROM 2.13
THIS IS A REVELATION!
I successfully flashed the Chinese ROM that I stated in my 1st post. After careful thinking and examining the official Chinese ROM, I decided to take the plunge and risk bricking my phone. Well, guess what? I was very happy to see the phone boot up and now the entire OS is in Chinese (simplified) language!
Here are the steps I did:
1. I downgraded my phone from OS 2.13 to 2.10 (using USB; no Sd card needed)
2. Installed HSPL2_1024
3. Flash HD2_RUU_2.13_21905_CHS
That's it!
This is my current specs now:
OS 5.2.21905 21905.5.0.93
Manila 2.5.20121225.0
ROM 2.13.531.1 90963 CHS
ROM Date 5/28/2010
Radio 2.08.50.08_2
Protocol 15.34.50.07U
good news.
Can anyone give a link to download HD2_RUU_2.13_21905_CHS ?
Thanks.

Hi, I have some problems with my HTC Wildfire.
1. I installed HTC SYNC 3 but I could not access by Wildfire
2. I tried to use Gold Card Tool but it did not get any CID - I suppose because of the problem 1.
3. I have a Vodafone branding and I would like to have the original HTC version on by Wildfire. The question is, which of the ROMS in Buzz is the original one?
4. I have download this version: RUU_Buzz_HTC_WWE_1.14.405.2_R_C_Radio_13.45.55.24_3.35.15.19_release_141106_signed. Is it a version with german language and can I later on update my Wildfire to 2.2?
As I am new, maybe some of the questions are posted but I could not find them in the forum.
Thanks, M.

I'm looking for the original ROM for Htc Touch2 in Traditional Chinese?I have searched this forum and find none.
I hope my old post here still works, thsi is the traditional chinese ROM used in HongKong... no idea if there is a separate Taiwan ROM though, or any other CHT ROM:

By the way, in case you don't the whole OS in traditional Chinese, but only the input methods (Zhuyin/BoPoMoFo), then use the WWE Asia ROM and read this here:

Moved as not rom development.
