Hello all,
I got my HTC-8525 from AT&t about two years back. Then I moved to India, I got 8525 unocked from AT&T, where I have used the phone regularly. I have even flashed some new ROMs, Radios etc.
Now, I came back to USA. I tried to use a SIM from AT&T in the phone. But when I insert the SIM in the phone and activate the phone mode from connection manager phones battery starts discharging very quickly, at the rate of 4% per minute approx. When I try to use phone without SIM in flight mode battery works OK.
Even I have replaced the battery with a new one, flashed original AT&T rom with radio and even tried couple of Radios also.
Can someone guide me, what can I do now? Is it a hardware problem?
Thanks,
Alex
Try turning off HSDPA (under Settings -> Connections -> Advanced Network).
Thanks for reply, but I am not able to find out Advance Settings in connections under settings.
Is there anything else also that I can do?
Can anyone help me?
Thanks,
Alex

I got a brand new Orange M3100, but the battery lasts about 4 hours on a full charge, even if I don't use the phone.
Switching from UMTS to GSM doesn't make a notable difference.
Any idea what could be wrong?

did you tried a hard reset????
do a hard reset and use the set in factory default setting for a days if everything goes ok then it is related to ur 3rd party software..
Tytn Battery
I had that same problem before I mean my tytn was overheating couldn't use it for up to four hours even if I turn it off it still runs the battery on standby, I even turned off the umts it still ran down the battery, I took it back and I was given a new one. and it works fine now with the same battery and 2days of heavy use with umts I think you should send it back, they told me it was a bad motherboard or whatever, and now am surprised that the battery last longer than the battery on the wizard. Just send it back
Hmm. I brought it brand new from some guy on eBay. Problem is that I live in Spain, although I do travel quite frequently to London for work.
Do I need to get in touch with HTC or with Orange to have it replaced?
Greetings,
tytn battery
I think it has a warranty, you should send it back to HTC as faulty handset overheating I think they will change it or fix the fault. Do a search on htc Europe and try and get the number close to you.
tytn battery
I think as its for orange you should take it to one of the orange repair centers in London I think there is one in Oxford street, tell them you bought it on pay and go they might as well fix it or change it for you, just give it a go.
my mda says that it has like 93% battery life and while im scrolling around on the web after 15 minutes the phone just automatically SHUTS OFF and restarts saying low battery life and then it dies again. whats the deal with that? what do i have to do to fix this? its sooo annoying. any help will be greatly appreciated!
you might be out of RAM..
close some apps that are running..
IE eats up a bunch of RAM..
Looks more like a faulty battery to me! OUT OF RAM or LOW RAM never will give out the message: LOW BATTERY.!
If you have the chance to try another battery (maybe you own a second one or a friend might have the same device) just give it a shot ...
i tried with a different battery. the phone still reboots if your on the phone or interenet for longer than 10-15 mins. whats up with this?
I have EXACTLY the same problem with my phone. This phone is onlt 1 month old and was a replacement for a previous MDA that had SD card problems...
I have the exact same problem. When I don't use WiFi the battery lasts for several days. But when I use Wi-Fi in 10-15 minutes it restarts and shows battery very low.
I have noticed that if I connect and immediately disconnect the charger, it shows that there is a lot of power left in the battery and the phone will actually last a while. It definitely can't charge it so fast, so somehow its getting confused about how much battery is left.
Can anyone help with this, please?
I just did a clean install of the official T-Mobile Rom, and the problem is still there. The phone keeps restarting.
Help please.
right there with you guys. ihave and 8125 and they same thing happens i am just glad i have a spare phone. Bad very BAd.
Guys
Junner2003 is right. The problem is a failed cell in the battery. If you don't put the wizard under any load it will last for a while however as soon as you ask it to do something (like use the internet) it dies real quick.
Get a new battery (not a second hand one that you know nothing about) and the problem will go away. I had the same problem a few months ago and went through all the same issus mentioned on this forum but a new battery solve the issue once and for all.
Thanks for the input, jt_armstrong. I'll replace the battery and report back here. I am thinking I about getting a high capacity one like this one

Hey everyone. jt_armstrong and Junner2003 are right. At least in my case changing the battery seems to have solved the problem.
I got the high capacity one from ebay, and so far it has been working perfectly.
Hi i have a 614c , it's brand new but the battery is really weak. I didn't format it first when i started using it , might this be the cause ?
Anyway, it lasts just for a day with a little browsing and wi-fi . Brightness is set to middle .The rom installed is WM 6.1 with Manilla 2D. What can i do to make it last longer, underclock the CPU , put another rom what do you recommend ?
Are you using 3g or 2g?
I find 3g chews up a lot of battery life.
I have a data plan at Orange and when it connects it says " Connecting to GPRS,3G" so it means i have it activated . How can i disable it ? Is there a program that can enable/disable it quickly ?

Hi,
After using my iPaq 614c for two months the battery depleted around 10 percent per hour without using WiFi, bluetooth or even the phone. First I thought it was the battery, but after replacing the battery the problem still existed. HP changed my model for a new one which is working 'as expected' (around 2 days on one charge).
I think that the charge part on the 614c was defective.
Have you tried another battery or measured how long your battery lasts when turning everything off ?
charlieMOGUL
I did a test today , left it on at 100 % charge without the sim inserted and when i got back from work it was off with dead battery . Is it possible for the GPS module to be activated without my knowledge ?? It 's the only thing that can eat that much battery

Hi,
No, it isn't possible. GPS only kicks in when asked by some app.But almost for certain, it'll be your activeSync that always try to sync, wether connected or not. Search for the Server-source-trick to disactivate this behaviour.
Dirk
Hmm,
My guess would still be defective hardware (as well). It seems almost impossible that the ActiveSync process can put thatload on the battery.
I have a 6 month old Nexus 4 running stock 4.4.2 and for the past 4 days or so it has been dropping its network every time i try to load a page on data (doesnt happen with wifi). it does this constantly until i try to reboot my phone, at which point, if my phone had 80% battery, it will refuse to turn back on unless im hooked up to my charger (and reads 0% battery). Im trying to narrow down the source of the issue, whether its a problem from my network provider or software or hardware. I did a fresh install of 4.4.2 last night and nothing seems to have changed. i also spoke to my network providor (mobinil egypt) and theyre telling me that theres no problem with my service from their end and my sim is only 2 months old and that im on the correct apn. It might be unrelated, but i did start using a mophie juice pack powerstation around the exact same time this issue started.
Any ideas?

I have the exact same problem on my nexus 4. Was about to post the same. Am also on 4.4.2. Please someone help with a fix !
Today my nexus went dead on 60% and when i plugged it to the charger it show 0% !
no ideas?
almost 150 views and none at all?
i took some screenshots of my battery stats in case that helps. It shows several network drops throughout the day. the battery died completely on me at approx 65% (and again it refused to turn back on at all until plugged in to a charger, and then surprisingly it showed 50%) i believe i was doing casual browsing on chrome at the time. It died again at 25% when i was trying to take a screenshot of my battery stats, and showed 0% when i got my hands on a charger

Have you tried to flash a different radio (a.k.a: baseband) to see whether that helps. Or try Jelly Bean ROM 4.3 to see if you still have problem with the network.
Hi, a few days ago my friend gave me his old phone, a Samsung Galaxy S4 GT-I9505.
He told me that it has some WI-FI Issues, however, I accepted his phone as a gift.
Now I'm trying to fix the problem, often wi-fi gets off and I can't connect to Internet for 5-10 mins or more.
When I go to System Info, the mac id is unavailable.
When I remembered that problem, the phone had LineageOS, then I tried to restore stock rom but I had no results.
I used that phone for 3 days and I discovered this :
When the phone has more than 90% of charge, and when it is charging, wi-fi NEVER gets off and mac id is always available.
Then I was thinking about this, should I try to change battery?
That battery has some issues, it just charges fast af, and it discharges fast af too.
Could you tell me which battery I should buy then? original battery or not?
Thank you for reading, have a nice day
