I clicked on the MobiTV icon and it warned me about incurring extra charges from my provider and since I'm on an unlimited data plan, I clicked ok. Then it popped up and said that an updated version was available, do you want to install? So I said yes. Then it gave me the option of saving or running the updated file. I clicked run file and it seemed to install fine but now when I click on the MobiTV icon I get this message, "The file 'MobiTV' cannot be opened. Either it is not signed with a trusted certificate, or one of its components cannot be found. If the problem persist, try reinstalling or restoring this file". I went to the MobiTV site and cannot find a download for it. Anyone else have this problem? Thanks, Dano
Found the problem. I think the problem is the fact that when I installed the update, I installed it accidently to the storage card. I removed it and reinstalled the CAB to the Deivce and all is ok.

I downloaded and installed a trial copy of Pocketwinc by Cirond Software from a Handango store.
The program installed normally, and ran on my Advantage. However, that software cannot see my WiFi adapter. When I run the program, I get the error message "Unable to Locate Adapter."
So, I tried to unistall the software using ActiveSync. When I tell Activesync to unistall Pocketwinc, I get the message on Advantage "You should restart to complete removal of Pocketwinc." I tell it "OK," and my Advantage re-starts.
However, Pocketwinc does not uninstall. When I go to "Remove Programs" on my Advantage, and select Pocketwinc to be removed, I get that same "You should restart,,," message. After restarting, Pocketwinc is still on my Advantage.
I tried to contact Cirond's support. However, their website seems to be down.
Can anyone help?
TIA
a couple of days ago all the programmes i had downloaded wouldnt open, so i just downloaded them all again. but today i realised that google maps and copilot do not open again. when i try to open them a message comes up that says "the file 'GoogleMaps/copilot' cannot be opened. either it is not signed with a trusted certificate, or one of its components cannot be found. if the problem persists, try reinstalling or restoring this file". how/where can i reinstall or restore this file?
thanks
come on guys i need to know!
Do the rest of the apps launch? Do you have your phone in disk drive mode?
the rest of the apps that came on the phone work perfectly its just google maps and copilot. and i dont know what disk drive mode is, how do i enable it?
Disk drive mode means you have plugged in your usb cable and connected it to the pc and are using your sd card as a storage device.
So it seems you are not doing that. It sounds like you need to reinstall.
Google maps can be downloaded from google but copilot... i dont know. I dont use it and i deleted it.
right i have reinstalled google maps but i cant find where to reinstall copilot. I dont even think it is copilot i need to reinstall because when i try to open it it says "the file 'splashscreen' cannot be opened. either it is not signed with a trusted certificate, or one of its components cannot be found. if the problem persists, try reinstalling or restoring this file". how/where can i reinstall or restore this file?
thank you for your help anyway

I've been in touch with CoPilot support about getting an installer for the trial version, as I have purchased a licence but want the ability to flash my phone, should I wish, with a custom ROM. This obviously won't have CoPilot included in it, so I need an installer.
I'll post back here when I hear from them, but I'm not holding my breath. They're particularly slow at responding to support issues.
ok thanks, so do you recon there is no way to reinstall copilot again?

I need to wait for their support to answer me first. At the moment, I don't know of any installer for the CoPilot trial.

It was about 2 weeks ago, but they have already answered once and told me to download it from the link that was in the confirmation email I got when I bought it. I had to reitterate to them that I didn't buy the software, as I'd already got the trial. I only got the licence key. I've not heard back from them yet. I expect an answer within the next week, or I'll start chasing them up.
ok thanks for your help i doubt i will use it anyway, it is just a waste if i dont get to use my 15 day trial
I need some help. I have a Nexus S unrooted still, I just unlocked the bootloader, but now I can't download anything from the browser, it immediately says download unsuccessful, market downloads are fine. What is the problem? I noticed that there isn't a download folder on my sd card, I created one but it's still not working.
I did a factory reset but the problem is still there.
Bump. Having same issue.
Do you guys have Astro File Manager installed? If so, go into the settings and look towards the bottom. I forgot what the option is called (d'oh!) but it says something about "if checked, browser downloads may not work properly." I doubt this will fix the issue, but worth a shot I suppose. Good luck!
Hi community! i have a little problem. since a few hours i am not able to open my drafts-folder anymore. if i choose folder->drafts my mail programm quits with following errormessage:
"The application Mail (process com.htc.android.mail) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again"
-- -so i was searching for a fix for this problem. one possible solution was to delete all data over application-manager (settings->manage applications->All->Mail->Clear Data).
it worked only as long as i saved another message in draftsfolder.
-- i also tried to use ROM Manager's option to "Fix Permissions". that worked a few times for other problem, but not this time.
-- i was using DL.DesireZ.v3.3.final.nand by dandiest and yesterday i flashed to new version 3.5. i thought my problem was gone, but its still there..
i dont know why this is happen even if i flashed a new version..
thanks for any suggestions
greetings
EDIT: excess message database over root:
Ok, i did it. i've found a *.db file in rootsystem. /data/data/com.htc.android.mail/databases/mail.db
in this file is all you need. accounts, messages, settings etc.
with an explorer which is able to access root its possible to view and edit this file. i've got my message back (at least the content), now i will try to look what keeps my mailprogramm quitting.

How to deinstall HTC Skins?
i now know why this error happens to me. i now started gparted and formated my sdcard (fat and ext4) and flashed again< the error was gone. haha
so i started to set up my phone and reinstalled my applications. to be sure i tested every time i installed an application my drafts folder.
after install of a HTC Sense Skin called "rEVOlution" from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=801928 my mail programm brings the same error as before when i want to access drafts:
"The application Mail (process com.htc.android.mail) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again"
so for me this skin causing this error. i know have to know how to deinstall it?
edit: yes thats it. if i change back to default htc skin i am able to access drafts... weird.
solved
to remove the skin and get rid of this error (in this case) you have to delete following files and folder:
/data/data/com.htc.skin.revolution
/data/app/com.htc.skin.revolution-1.apk
then restart. done.
a quote form the original thread.
Issues: There might be FC with gmail, then just clear your gmail user data in app settings.

Hello, so il get right to the point
I cant update any of the google apps.
When trying to update Google music app, it gives me the "package file was not signed correctly.Uninstall the previous Copy if the app and try again."
now, this problem also accurs with other google apps sutch as maps, calendar etc.
deleting the cache and then trying to update the app doesnt work either.
i also use google Keep alot.i installed the app and it says. "This app won't run unless you update Google Play Services." Ok, fine so i try to update Play services and Behold, the same error occurs, giving me the annoying "package file was not signed correctly.Uninstall the previous Copy if the app and try again." Error yet again.
i tried manually downloading the android play store apk. and installing a new version, but then it gives me this error "An existing package by the same name with a conflicting signature is already installed".
Deleting the cache and disabling the app and THEN trying to install it wont work either.
Im using Nexus 4 with 4.2.1
I haven't rooted it, no roms.
And the best part!I got this phone 2 months ago, then the problem occured, then i gave it back to the provider (thanks to the warranty), i got it back today and the problem still occurs. What they did, was "reinstalled android on the phone".
So please, anyone, im about to drop the phone in the toilet if this problem does not get fixed.
I wont risk on "installing a custom rom" on the phone, i almost bricked my last LG GT540 Optimus.
