Recovery

What recovery should I put on Droid x that was rooted with rootzwiki and how

Thats a little broad, do you mean something like ClockworkMod? This is what you do a nandroid backup with. So if you mess something up, you can just recover your settings from any date that you ran a backup on.
If you need to backup/recover apps, you can do this with Titanium Backup.
So bootstrap2 will work with this root method

It should, yeah. But to be sure...try a backup and restore before you go changing a bunch of things.

Is it possible to have two backups?

I already have backup of my stock rom and now i want to backup my current rom which is U.S.S.R V5..is it possible to have to two backups using nandroid backup?

Yes. It is, provided there's enough space on your sd card. And you can restore any backup anytime you want. I myself have 5 backups.

[Q] Nexus 4 does not boot after the nexus logo

Hi
Basically I am new to android. I rooted by nexus 4 yesterday and installed CM 10.1 successfully. But I had some issue with the security settings so I tried to flash the system.img as per the instructions in one of the forum. But flashing didn't complete fully. Now my nexus 4 boots up only till the nexus logo and the logo keeps glowing. clockwork recovery works fine. But unfortunately i deleted the CM 10.1 zip file from the mobile after i installed it. Is there anyway i can push the rom into the mobile. Or is there any recovery option?? Please help
thanks.
Its a lot of flashing but you could restore your nandroid redownload the rom and reflash it

how to restore nandroid?
Wipe cache and dalvik cache through cwm
He is assuming you made a nandroid backup of your original ROM. Did you? You could also boot in to recovery and perform a factory data reset.
Yes im assuming because thats the first thing you do before flashing lol

Try the side load option with adb and cwm only thing I can think of

Thank you. I used the "install from side load" option and pushed the CM 10.1 zip file into the mobile. Now I am using AOKP rom.

[Q] Recovery Questions

Hey guys.
I have rooted using the CF_Auto_Root method and I have some questions.
1. Can I use mobile Odin Pro to flash a recovery from the dev section?
2. Is it possible to restore back to stock using a nandroid backup?
Thanks

Yes, but why would you want to? You can't make a nandroid backup in the stock recovery

My daughter needs a phone, I was going to flash rastakat because it gave me better battery life. I'm afraid she will reboot into recovery and flash something that's not a ROM/kernel.

Yes, you could.

Sounds like it's a good time to learn responsibility. If she's old enough to have a phone, have her buy an inexpensive android. There are a mess of them. I've found my kids to be better stewards of the things they've had to work for than things just given to them.
