Can someone tell me why Duttys ROM's are so popular? they look pretty much standard to me...
Any Dutty fans care to inform me?

I flashed my HD2 with different variants og energy roms, and they ran pretty fast, but i most admit dutty's is much faster with no errors..
I have used energy roms since the day that i got my HD2 (dec. 09) but decided 2 weeks ago to try something else..
And what a suprise when i tried dutty's
The whole system runs faster, i don't know why, but probably because energy has tweaked and added to much to his roms these days..
Dutty's rom is as close to standard as you can get, but with everything manila wise updated and testet, plus he must have tweaked the system with other things than pagepool, because it runs so much better than the original (and every other rom i have tried)..
I actually flashed his new multilanguage V3.1 today, and i'm not dissapointet!
Try it and you will see what i mean..
If people need another link to download from than htcpedia.com, i have uploaded the danish version to shareonline.dk. But i must point out that i only uploaded the danish version to my site.. So it will probably not be worth anything for most people

Ill tell you why because i updated last night and message sent notification gone thats good enough for me,
in all fairness i usually mix between energy and dutty, i prefer dutty just fast basic ROM and very nice no problems at all

I kind of loosing the overview of what Rom contains what feature and what unsolved bugs.
I'd like to have an overview table/chart where one can see all features for each ROM
Beside this, I get the impression none of the cooked ROMs is working bug-less. It seems to be a neverending problem which eventually get forgotten when new XDAs coming out /
Yep, I second that...but I think the best answer to this is: Test yourself, flash 3 different ROMs and compare your own. Nobody here knows which apps you are using, which version, which language. There are many things which can cause problems, so it´ll be best for you to test each of the ROMs for a week or so.
For me M-Amine is quite a good ROM, I think maybe udK Syrius R1 (+the fixes, see extra thread) is even better..but as I said: compare your own, even if its time-intense.

Martin
sry, double posted somehow. to mods, please delete this one, thx.

m.schmidler is quite correct i have tried many roms and while some people rave about a specific rom i have found it no good for my purposes at the moment i am using M-Amine and for me it is the best one so far but try a few for your self.

reasons???
I tried almost all roms except ANIME now i'm with TouchIT 3.6 and its great
Maybe we can make some form so ppl can fill and then some1 will put it all together so we have table of each rom speed bugs etc.
Maybe something like this:
ROM | WM VER | RADIO VER | STUFF NOT WORKING | FIX AVAILABLE/NOT | SPB BENCHMARK ................. something like this
Its like heads of columns, would be great in excel or some thing like this then you'll collect all reports and make one file
@ bnm7bnm: would be a lot of work..and who do you think would do this work ? I suggested something similar when I came new to this forum, but nobody of the chefs showed any interest, I just got offended and was advised just to read the threads xD

'cause it's stable, fast, freeze rarely, i like full black skin and with a little cab you can see videos from Photo Tab.
Here it is the cab :
I've been doing plenty of research on the forums and it just appears that the best rom, in terms of stability, function, speed and reliability is the Dutty 3.9 XT. Newer versions have some improvements, but with functional setbacks such as sms problems as in 4.3. The new leo roms look fancy, but again they suffer from speed and functionality also! So as a blackstone user and one to show it off to iphone fans, am I right in saying this is one of the few roms we have which is reasonably fast, stable and functional, without coming across an unexpected hickup and the iphone user wins that round!
theres no such thing as perfect ROM
its very personal to what you want to do with your phone and in what way you want to use it and if you want WM 6.1 or WM 6.5 on it,.. especially not to show off to iphone.. i go with Miri's WM 6.5, for me its my favourite, been with it since the beginning, others might thing otherwise, for what its personal
if you worry about iphone users (kids, girls, non-technology knowers most of all) and they got to the point where they dare compare an iphone to a WinMobile phone is enough for you not to waste ur time trying to get in their limited minds,.. let them show off how awesome the iphone is cause it can take pictures, and they autorotate, and how they can access the internet when they are at a wireless hotspot, and that they can access their top 5 favourite websites cause they have a shortcut of each of them on their phone's homepage, and how they have a shortcut for every single thing on their front page for instant access (now isnt that handy, i bet you we all have out PC's desktop FULL of shortcuts ).. so enjoy your phone buddy
well if u want to show off to iphone users. do go for nrg rom's. there are an eye candy, fast and improving (lesser bugs). try photon range of rom's based on 2.1 by nrg
Guys,
I'm wondering, are any 6.5 ROMs as fast as 6.1 ROMs?
Cheers.

I just tried out Duttythroy's WM6.5+HTC Sence (Manila 2.5) and it was kinda laggy so I went back to Stock ROM WM6.1.

It depends on the rom. Some of the new ones (with higher build number) are sooo slow, laggy and unstable... For me the most stable and fastest rom is from XannyTech. Haven´t had any problem for now (using a week) and it´s almost fast as stock rom.
Guys,
Thanks. I've actually, for the first time today, started flashing! I can see why it's addicting, but it got tedious after 2 hours of playing around. Windows Mobile 6.5 has a lot of eyecandy in general, but it's not as functional as I'd like it to be right out of the box. I've tried both Photon and Miri roms that come without Manila.
The experience I had with both was "meh".
I'm just going to install Dutty's Final 6.1 ROM and be done with it until I change phones.
Thanks again guys,
Cheers!
Maryone
I am using maryone 230064 manila 2.5 and it is fast and reliable

,
Totally agree.
In regards to the most stable 6.1 ROM, you are right on with the Dutty 3.9XT. I am on 4.3 because I am a Dutty freak. Haven't tried anyone else so I have no other experiences, but 3.9 XT FINAL is exceptional.

Trend,
Is this the same as the one in HTCPEDIA's site? With Dutty's 4.3 Final or something along that lines? Because I used Dutty's 4.3 Final from HTCPedia. Is one better than the other?
Cheers.

It should be the same. It came out about the same time when the transition from XDA to HTCpedia was made.

Trend,
Thanks! I'm just a little bummed that Dutty's Magic 8 Ball that was ported from Topaz does not work in Dutty's 4.3 Final.
It just starts up, I get the loading screen, and then it just turns off by itself and I am in Manila once more. I don't know if this is a netframework issue or... I was really looking forward to using HTC's 8 Ball.
Might you know anything about this?
Cheers.

Sorry for my bad English
Same thing over and over again ''which is the best rom?''.
The only answer you will get is to try as much as you can and see for yourself.
Good luck.
LIA 13.1 Sense 2.5
topix 3.3 Sense 2.1
Haven't tried any of the new Leo 2.02 ROMs, maybe they are getting better and better

Thanks jldiablo....i will try them next days.
By the way, i like topix 3.3 and miri's roms.
I tried about ...many roms and still do not know which is the best,or why is the best.Sure some opinion is ok. but:
If you get 20 replies to this post with the 3 best roms that is 60 roms. But you can use only 1 on your HD.
So the conclusion is that you should try some roms on your own.
Just my opinion so dont be mad.
By the way i am using now the latest Laurentius rom, which is nice and all but has some things i do not like, just like the other roms around.
Good luck with your poll.
its all down too....
your individual taste and what you want from the rom!
make a list of whats important to you, then go looking at whats on offer
happy searching
Lots of choices and hard to choose
By the way, do you know how disable PIN code on HTC HD?
thanks in advance

Hi FanaticWear,
try going to Start | Settings | Lock and setting it there.
Regards.
No answerr to this as everyone has different opinions. Just try them yourself and make your own conclusion. Possibly start with this benchmark thread for roms to start with

Hi All,
Just wondering what ROM everyone is using, and why?
IM umming and arring in between 2 different ones. Can i get a comparison??
The ones are: The Elegancia CHT, and the Energy CHT.
Please Help
Dobby
i cannot advise you on the Elegancia CHT rom, sorry.
I have installed the energy cht one though and i fully expected to flash lots of different ones to compare. but i no longer feel the need. It works, does not crash uses alot less memory than the stock rom and, to put it simply, i like it.
I would simply advise you to try both and see how you get on.
let us know how it goes.
Yep... try the energy one. It's the best! LOL
NRGZ28 is right! Energy Rom series are the best!
Ignore NRG, he's full of it
There's no "best" ROM...every one is different with it's own style. It's really just a case fo trying them until you fid one that suits you.
exactly, there is no best rom.
do sum tests and u will find the best one for u.
i flashed a lot so i have a clue on whats goin on and i m now with the miri n dinik v17 since the day that its out.
looks really good, works good and no bugs at all.
but the choise is yours
enjoy !
i am just wanting to know if anyone knows a really good rom for my htc hd2(tmobile) i have tried quite a lot of them but still not to impressed by them? please helpa
Avoid asking about the best if you can. As for a ROM you may like try AmeriCanAndroid. It's a CM7 port that Copenhagen and I work on. I'm a TMo person too btw.
Sent from my HTC HD2 using XDA App
thanks, I will try this soon

If you are looking for the most stable and fast rom, try tytung Gingerbread v2.9. Many will tell you that it is simply the best andriod rom out there.

This is kinda like asking what do you prefer crunchy or creamy peanut butter...your bound to get many different responces. lol.
Check out this site. It lists almost all the nand android ROMs found here on XDA in a place thats much easier to find it.
AmeriCanAndroid is a great ROM and its updated often so thats always a good starting point. if your one that prefers HTC sense then maybe try out RAFDROID HD. i've personally found this ROM very fast and stable. If you like more of a iphone type feel then try a miui ROM out. i would suggest LADY MIUI or D4RK MIUI.
There really is no one best ROM, i think anyway. This is because everyone has their phone set up slightly different and also want different things on their cell. just try out a few ROMs intill you find something you want to stick with for a little bit of time and see how it goes. It took me several months to settle on a ROM because i always wanted to flash every new ROM that came out. lol.
I tried Miui, Sense and cynogen based roms; Miui has the best home applications like the camera app, phone app, etc. The fastest (real difference), with lots of tweaks and the best baterry for me is Dorimanx High end rom, although some of his builds are not stable because he is always updating his rom. Im using dorimanx rom right now, although im waiting to see if Hyperdroid is updated wich is another excellent rom.
Hello,
I tried BoyPPC ROMs and it's quite fast, stable and regularly updated so it seems well followed.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1199917
But I agree with previous comments that it depends on your configuration and your needs. each one has pros and cons and you should just test the one that best fits to your needs.
Since Feb I'm using AmeriCanAndroid (well, cope's sd rom at that time, before he and warrenb started together AmeriCanAndroid). Haven't changed to anything else since then. Have switched to the nand version since 2-3 weeks and I'm happy with it.
Pyramid
I tested many Roms.
Because I like that HTC stuff, I searched a long time for a stable Sense 3 ROM.
This ROM is amazing and works verry well and smooth:
Pyramid HTC WWE 1.35.401.1 - Real 3D [V2.2][RAF 1.9GB]
Iv been trying to get that one for awhile but is not working

Just be careful, flashing too many rom and too often may lead to bad blocks on your phone. Have fun and good luck.

Hey. Actually if you want stable and fully working and also customized rom its definatly the CoreDroid, but look only for froyo rom couse GB have graphic glithes and camcorder lag, hope devs will fix it soon! This rom is the very fast and fully customized! Im using ext4 1Gb partition and its very smooth. Try it)
