Can X10 english version view and input chinese? I wanted to get a new X10, but I am now in Australia. I think I need to make sure if it can view and write chinese?

It kind of does, but had you searched you would have found THIS on the first page of the Q&A board.
We don't know for a fact until we get the update.
Just got an x10 few days ago and having some silly questions now.
About the bootloader,is it finally unlocked or cracked?
Which rom in your view do the best for a newbie x10 user?
2.3.4 or 2.3.3 will be released?
Any good thread to refer to for a newbie?
Thanks

First things first, 歡迎中伏 (welcome to the death trap)
The bootloader is impossible to crack in the foreseeable future, unless SE gives us the unlock. However there is the bypass being worked out which allows us to side load kernels.
As for roms, the 2.2 ones are quite neat, and the GB update is just around the corner.

Hi, and welcome to the x10 community.
As far as we know, the bootloader HAS NOT been cracked or unlocked.
In my opinion, the best newbie rom would be Zidzihu's FreeX10 beta 4. Have a look in the dev section for it. Make sure you read up on rooting, xRecovery, Roms, and flashtool before attempting to flash anything. We are expecting the update to 2.3.3 to roll out in the coming few weeks, maybe sooner.
There is a sticky in the general section that has a lot of useful and important information in it, just have a quick look at that.

Hi everyone, had a bit of struggle to decide where this thread should locate... But decide to be here, question been since my native language was not English, does anyone know any of those nexus devices (4/7/10) support Chinese input natively? Or i will need to find 3rd party app for such support? Thanks all for helping out.

No. some of them might come with Chinese input, but most likely they don't. but here is a great alternative keyboard which does support chinese input. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.cootek.smartinputv5&hl=en it has chinese pinyin as well as stoke.
press the thanks button if you find this helpful!
One more question (sorry), I was under the impression that all android devices has ability to read/identify non English languages (just to read them not type them), is that right?
Thanks again

That's right. It can display non English just fine!

most stock roms support just about all common languages, including chinese. but if you install a different rom, say miui, some language might get disabled. but needless to worry, 99% of the roms out there does support chinese.
Thanks guys!

Here the thread for the germans of us
Moin Leute, ich hoffe doch, dass es hier ein paar gleichsprachige gibt.
Indeed I have seen many germans here around!
But you know what?
You have to read the forum rules!
Only english is allowed here...
I suggest you if you still want a germam thread a forum like android-hilfe.de for instance.
Greetz
Oh sorry.

you are correct, you can have a German I9300 user thread, but the language should be English (as for instance in the Indian thread).
Yeah keep it English!! Haha even though English comes from German!
Besides just joking here! Waiting for the 4.2.2 for the s3

Yeah, right! Let's open a german thread! And another one for italian. An another for russian. You know what?! Let's open threads for every single country in the world!!
Seriously, take a step back and think about your "suggestion". I never understood why the indian needed a seperate, extra thread for themselves. Look at all the other device forums, you'll see in every Forum an indian users thread. My intention is not racism nor discrimination. I just think that such behaviour leads to some sort of splitup in the community as it does in society. The germans will understand this problem in particular, see "Integrations- und Migrationspolitik"...with this in mind, please don't!
There is http://www.android-hilfe.de/samsung-galaxy-s3-i9300-forum/ and http://www.handy-faq.de/forum/samsung_galaxy_s3_forum/ so why do we need a german thread or maybe even a german sub forum?

By the way, the whole point in having a country-specific thread is to make sure that you can communicate about where you bought the phone, about the warranty of shops, where you can get the S3 in the cheapest place, about mobile networks in Germany, etc. There's a million things you can talk about so it's perfectly fair for people to create threads based on the country they're living in. No harm comes to anyone!
I'm not German so I'll just go away now and leave you lot to talk.

Wow, finally a german thread
i think, that those threads not so bad, you will find a lot more of knowledge here than in other forums, mainly because they point often to this forum and in those threads for a certain language, it might be possible to ask/answer somethings in german or indian in addition to english
Don't think so! The language on this forums is english, so stay with english! If you can't speak english then you should visit android-hilfe or handy-faq. Don't visit android-pit...Anyways, everyone on xda has to act within the rules and one of them is speaking/writing in english!

Hi,
it would be great if someone could test my new webapp LinXXer on a firefox smartphone, because i could test it on the firefox emulator only.
The App can be used to encrypt and decrypt messages and send them by mail.
I need to know if the app is running fast enough on real firefox smartphones.
The webapp (beta) can be started from linxxer.com.
Sorry, i can't post a link here, because i have no rights for that. Just open the webpage.
LinXXer is still in development. If you find bugs please report them to me.
The app includes a function to create translation packages (setup->language).
I am looking for a native english speaker who is interested to rework the actual english translation.
The app is free, so i can't pay anything for your support, but those who create a new language pack will be listed in the language menu
which makes them part of the app project.

Did you get someone that help you to test your app?

I'll do it. I have a business-oriented Bachelor's degree from a major U.S. university. I've done well with spelling and grammar since I was a child. Also, I really enjoy proofreading. Seriously.
Do you prefer UK English or US English? My native is US, though I also have experience with UK, which is more common internationally.
