What country are you in?
You're maybe in one of the countries where only the free apps are aviable. I m in Hungary and i also can't buy apps or games.but i ve heard about an app that makes the market belive that you re in the usa, so u can buy apps. i m not sure if its true but look after it.
and u can find almost all paid apps on the internet for free.
Im from Latvia
Well I just want to see what apps are for money (which usualy got something better than free ones) and then I could try check it from other places...
.
androlib.com
try this. here you can find almost all apps from market.
http://code.google.com/p/market-enabler/
"Market-Enabler is an application to fake the phone's location and access markets from other countries. Android market is separated into regions (country and carrier specific) and some apps are just enabled for a specific country and not available to the other countries.
MarketEnabler is based on reverse engineering of Market delivered up to 1.5.x but does work with final 1.6 Market."

The Market would NOT show any Paid Apps unless the SIM card you are using is from an approved country. Is there a way to lift this restriccion : is the SIM check done via the market server or within the phone firmware ? And even if it's server based, is there a way to spoof the SIM country ? I have a US based account, I even have a USA sim card, and I am good to go with Google Checkout. But I do not want to swap sim every time I have to look for something in the Market. I live in a NON supported country .

try searching for "Market Enabler" in google? and since this thread is not development related, it will very possibly being closed.. or worse you might get banned
i don't know how to install exchange certificate to i9000. i tried from setting->location & security->install encrypted certificates
both cer and pfx format can't be recognized.
the same certificates can be inputed to win mobile system and working.
when you think of it
I have the same FAQ
What are they, where to put 'em (in order to install 'em), how can We manage etc
It would be nice some more experienced can explain us these questions ...
p.s. My main concern is I can NOT buy anything on the market
http://stackoverflow.com/questions/4461360/how-to-install-trusted-ca-certificate-on-android-device
Conclusion: Android 2.1 and 2.2 allow you to import certificates, but only for use with WiFi and VPN.

So it seems like a difficult task, I'm afraid. Unless that's changed in 2.2.1 or newer, of course.
Although, doesn't the Samsung email client allow you to accept any SSL certificates (there's a check box during account setup)? I would assume that means it'll accept "snake oil" certs as well?
And in what way does market issues have anything to do with importing custom certificates, Vanto?
Thanks for clearing that up for us !!!
Regarding "market issue" I'm not quite sure how can 1 buy anything...?
I've opened payment method via Google Checkout in my Google account and
(I must note that there's NO PayPal for my country, yet)

Check if your country is in this list, otherwise you cannot buy paid apps: http://www.google.com/support/androidmarket/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=143779
PS: As per your profile, you are in Macedonia which is not in the list

Ah, so that's what you meant. Sorry, didn't get that from your first post
As seltaeb mentioned, it seems paid apps aren't available for Macedonia (yet).
However, you've created a Google Checkout account? If so, use the app "Market Enabler" (Google it) to gain access to paid apps. I've used this before paid apps were available in Norway, and it worked very well. You'll still be able to pay with your Google Checkout account.
(You can also use Market Enabler to get access to apps that are only available to specific regions for example.)
By the way Android recognizes only .p12 files. Just rename your .pfx to .p12.

Hi, I want to sell an application developed by me, but this service is not supported in my country (Romania). So I want to ask a friend of mine who lives in a country (France or US) where selling paid applications is possible to help me with this. Now I don't know exactly what to tell him about the process: What is required by his side ? A bank account or a credit card ? How the money are transferred to him ? What exactly Google checks to verify if the developer is in one of the supported countries ? Please help me to understand the process as I'm new in the Android world
You'd need to setup the Merchant account with an address in that country, then have a bank account and tax/business registration information for that country, for it to work
Thank you, tax/business registration what this means (sorry, don't used with these) ? From the fees taken by Google (30%), your incomes will be also taxed by the
country's regulatory ?
Do I need to have a company for this ? Thank you.
I've seen apps that is in the free market, but when you download it it asks you to go to a website and pay with PayPal to receive a code which you input in the app. Don' know if that's against Google's ToS tho or something
To revive this topic a bit.
I am also having this issue, since my country is unsupported by Google. Do you think would be a double if I travel to Italy for example, open current account there and sign up to Developer Console like I am from Italy? I can find some address there, since Google also asking for your residence address. But, will they ask for additional confirmation? Like passport or ID card copy to see that I am on that address or they will not?
Or if any of you find out other way how to sell the apps on GP from unsupported countries, would be great!
Thanks

I asked the very same thing yesterday but no one answered yet. I have an address in another, supported country, but i am still waiting for the invoice to send it for the verification. Since I havent had any payments for 2 months now and I sold lots of paid apps I worry about that I wont see that money ever... I hope they wont refuse my verification just because i will send them an ID and an invoice with different addresses and countries.. I'll let you know if they answered.

Same questions here.
I see you posted some paid apps on Google Play, so did you came up with a solution?
Any help would be great
Hi,
Since 2 days, I have no Marketplace anymore.
I explain:
-The XBox Live Tile is not green and animated. Now, it is a basic icon with chess and card icon. If I click on it, I have only the collection page. No marketplace page anymore.
-If I go to the Music and video player icon, it is the same case, no Marketplace anymore.
-The Marketplace indicates that I have a update to do (Navigon), but if I click on the tile, it indicates (in french, which is my ma language) that "Marketplace is not available in my country or region"
Is it because I tried 2 or 3 days ago to update Navigon (update advice by Marketplace but finally unauthorised to be executed), which is a version developped by XDA before it appeared on the Marketplace?
What I am wrong? How to recover the Marletplace?
Kind regards
Cyril
you cant update pirated apps via marketplace (yes if you not buy Navigon legally, its pirated... no free XDA versions, Navigon is forbidden here).... dont search this aps in marketplace to avoid Update notifications
check your Live account settings and Live ID

I don't understand because My acount still enable me to receive e-mails, sync my calendar & contact, the only thing is I have no Marketplace.
Up, I cannot use anymore the Marketplace, I tried et verified everything (Regional settings on Live account, smartphone, PC...) and everything seems to be right, I din't understand
your account may have been banned from Marketplace
try creating a new account (get a new activation code) and this way find out if it's a phone connectivity issue or an account-related problem
I received my new 32Gb Sandisk to replace the bricked other one.
I Clear SD, hardreset after the HSPL 12345gogogo and everything is ok
I have recovered the Marketplace with my live ID
Hi all,
I've recently bought this gorgeous Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge, and I'm using it on O2 (UK), and I have a good mobile plan (with international calls) from my wife's contract, but I can't find the app Talk2Go in playstore. If I look after it on google, I can access playstore (for that app, apart that it's working fine) but I'm getting the message "This item cannot be installed in your device's country". The same message I'm getting by accessing playstore from PC. How can I install it from playstore (in order to get usually updates of the app)?
I have installed the apk (which isn't the latest build, but it's working fine) though from google, but, like I said, I want the playstore version.
Same issue with O2 app. I'm guessing there's an issue on my phone somewhere but I can't realize where?
check your software version, if the phone was manufactured or bought outside of the UK . It has the wrong software on it.
It recognizes playstore from a different country. simply flash the latest O2 software and the problem should be corrected.
Some apps are only for certain countries..
Try to VPN it, if it doesnt work.. make a new account for that region just to download apps...
which version should be? I have now:
what do you mean by new account for that region?
So
did you previously use it outside the region that you reside in now....just make a new playstore confirm your bank acc make a small purchase and just refund it should change location to where u reside make sure the bank is from where u currently reside in and try again if not then you are gonna have to proxy your connection by an app
no, I bought it from a local guy, hard reset and added my sim, and with UK card in google wallet. I've called google 10 min ago reporting this issue, and it's on going.
