I was wondering if anyone had tried this. Seems much less complicated than the sticky version. Has anyone had success with this?
it works many people have used it
i used superboot on my second nexus and it is 100 times faster and easier
did that method yesterday... worked great.
"- Put your device in bootloader mode – turn if off, remove battery, plug in USB cable, when battery icon appears onscreen, replace battery then tap the powerbutton while holding the Camera key"
So, where's the camera key on a Nexus?

Wrong section. please move this thread to the Q&A section.
Have you tried removing battery?
When this thread is moved (and it surely will be moved) the people that will try to help you will need more information than "i was charged my hd2 and it never waked up."
What happened?
What were you doing at the time? Did you try to put a new rom on it?
What did you do to try and 'fix' it?
yes but nothing.i wasnt do anything.i just put my phone for charge.when i tried to open it it didnt worked.just a black screen.i tried the red button the up volume way but nothing.

You have to hold the volume down button AND the power button at the same time in order to get to the screen with the three colours (bootloader screen)
nothing.it seems like the buttery to be dead.maybe is butterys problem?or there is a chance the screen to be burned?
If you can get into bootloader then all is not lost - get out of there and direct your browser to this link:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1090783
Read carefully before continuing. I suggest you start with a wipe (task29) then install MAGLDR - BUT ONLY IF YOU HAVE ALREADY PLAYED AROUND WITH NAND ROMS. If your phone is still a Windows Mobile device rather study this section before you do ANYTHING!
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=905841
And one final word of warning - if you still have your phone under warranty (or it is insured), take it back to the shop to have it fixed before you do anything that could void this.
...and maybe it is as simple as the battery just died?
i cant get into bootloader.the phone is dead.i have to try a new buttery and we'll see.thanks anyway

Funny,
mine goes to bootloader without having to hold the power button down.

Did you manage to charge the phone at all?
Do you have a spare battery or battery charger?
Are your pins bent?
If your battery is dead and you cannot charge it,try this:

Moments ago I noticed my powerbutton not working, wouldn't turn the phone off. So I removed the battery and now it can't power on (because the button doesn't work). Is there a way to power it on somehow? I don't really want to buy a new phone

Looks like a hardware issue, and to fix that you'll probably need to change the physical button.
To power the phone on, just connect it to the charger, it will start.
I too have the same problem, just started around this thread's start date too.
Oh yeah, and connecting it to the charger doesn't work, and the only way I can get any life out of it is to pop the battery out, put it back in, but even then it only goes to the "SAMSUNG" logo screen and then blacks out again.
I feel like it may be the power button itself, because I managed to turn it on when I pressed the button fairly hard, so maybe the button is pressed in and stuck to some extent?

In your case it's definitely the physical button and you'll need to change it. Maybe there are some video tutorials on how to clean/change it, check it out.

Then it's not the hw button itself, I stand corrected. Looks more like a soft/firmware issue, considering the power adapter doesn't power up the phone.

Hi guys,
I got some really annoying problems with my HD2 and can't find a solution for it.
My power button on the HD2 isn't working as intended.
If I power off the phone, I can boot it sometimes up using the power button, sometimes it doesn't respond to pressing it at all.
If I connect the phone to the computer or notebook it instantly powers up on it's own. same goes for the charger.
The strange thing is .. if the phone starts on its own (by being connected to the charger or computer) the power button is working flawlessly afterwards. Sometimes the button is working as intended, but suddenly stops working while trying to end a call or whatever.
I've currently installed Android on it .. I don't know if it's hardware or software related .... but it really drives me up the wall.
Maybe some of you are able to help me out
Best regards

Probably your END CALL/Power button is slowly dying(metaphorically speaking).
Being on Android(probably on Magldr) it's normal for your phone to start/boot up everytime is off and you plug it in(USB or charger).
IMO you should replace your hardware buttons flex or just leave it this way and avoid to use it.
Replacing it is not an easy job, I wouldn't recommend it to DIY unles you have a relevant experience on stuff like this or a very native skilled&lucky person!
Good luck!
thanks for the response.
I can't change the hardware buttons 'coz I already replaced the display and digitizer.
If I have to open the HD2 again the digitizer will separate from the display ....
too bad seems I have to bear with it
It's still hard to believe the power button is dying 'coz after the phone is automatically turned on by being plugged to a computer or the charger the button is working flawlessly.
and there are only a few seconds between it.
seems the phone has a problem recognizing the power on command if it's turned off

possible but still possible button board ...
Maybe worth trying other kernels & roms to rule out firmware issues ...
I'm trying a different battery now.
searched the internet and found someone with similar problems.
he fixed it by replacing the battery.
i'll give it a shot
edit: other battery doesn't change anything. I'll keep trying

Hi guys.
My Galaxy Note 3 power button has just completely stopped working. Is there a setting that turns off the power button functionality that I might have accidentally pressed?
Cheers.
Edit: I should elaborate here. The phone is switched on, everything works as normal but no matter how many times I try it, the power button just not do anything (holding it down, pressing different areas)

Did you try a battery reset? With the phone off, can you get into either Download or Recovery mode? That would eliminate the possibility of an OS issue.

It's a dud mate. Faulty unit.
Just send it back and get it replaced.
Just send it for replacement. There's a reason phones come with a warranty that covers manufacturer defects. Whining about it to strangers in the forum is not going to fix it for you.

My power button is not working to turn the screen off. Long press works to bring up the power down menu or to do a hard shut down. It works to turn back on though. Seems to happen after I plug it into the wall charger. Restoring a nandroid backup fixes the issue.
Not sure if it's related but my PC's USB crashed after trying to plug the phone in and use USB 3.0 to transfer files. I had to refresh my W8 PC to get the USB working again.
I have the Sprint version, rooted and running JellyBomb.

I have the same problem. my power button is done for. whenever i need to start it. I plug it in and go into recovery and reboot from there. I also use this https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.plexnor.gravityscreenoffpro&hl=en for screen timeout and lock. And you can also get exposed and gravity box and there is a status bar tweak to double tap the status bar to lock screen (put phone to sleep).
I tried everything then found the solution on another website
My note 3 has been with me for almost 2 years now and it's power button stopped working about 2-3 months ago. Until now I avoided draining the battery below 2% and was fine but just today I dropped my phone and it shut down. I knew that my power button didn't work because of hardware problems so a soft reset didn't work for me. What I found however is that if your power button is dead you can just very quickly remove and re-insert your battery and your samsung device (I have no idea if this works on other brands) automatically boots itself. I'll give the link too incase I wasn't clear enough and I hope this helps people who shared my worries.

Hi,
So yea my power button is broken. And it's so dam expensive to have it repaired and Im not too keen on opening my phone up so I was looking for a software fix. The thing is, the device is fine as long as it's not turned off. Also, I remapped the back button to have the power menu when long pressed (I used button remapper app).
But there are still situations where the feature I had with my iPhone works here so I dont have to go to ADB to reboot my phone if it's complete drained.
Ive read instructions on how to do it online which involves editing a file under system/bin but the file name they discuss really vary dpending on the device. So Im here to ask you guys if you know a way for this feature to happen. Basically I just want my device to automatically turn on when connected to charger so I wont have to manually turn it back on since the power button is broken. Or do you at least know what file is responsible for the ZUK Z1's battery script?
TIA
Hey. My power-button isn't working, too. Can you tell me what app you are using?
If your phone is completly drained and you plug it in, you need to wait a few minutes until you can boot it. So if it's off and has some juice in the battery, you can hold "volume-down" and plug in the charger, it should go on and boot into recovery, from there you can reboot and start your phone. Hope this helps.
Yes! A fellow brethren suffering the same fate. Misery loves company. XD
Thanks for the advice dude. I'll definitely try that. Though I got traumatized because one time it got stuck to a debugging screen i forgot the error... But as much as I dont want to have it completely drained. I will keep that in mind the next time it happens.
As for the power button while d device is still on. I use the app called "Button Remapper". You can only assign functions to major buttons. I assigned the power menu to "Press and Hold" back button. When I do that it gives me the option to shutdown, reboot, take a screenshot, etc. But I remember having to enable the option of advanced boot somewhere in my settings so the power menu will have more options. I also had to enable screenshot option added to my power menu somewhere in my settings too. The reboot option is what I use often if the device or an app is acting up. Hope this helps u too.

Use Resurrection Remix.
1. Boots up in switched off mode.
2. Doesn't require any app to remap buttons.
I am on lineage (7.1.2), I can't charge my phone by default when it's powered off, when ever I connect my charger, it's switched on you should try this next time?
This looks like a nice solution. Id look into it when Im in the mood to tinker with my phone XD
