Is there a software unlock for TMOBUS HD2? - HD2 General

I am new to this device but used to own ATT TILT.
At those days there were a software method of unlocking the device.
Is there anything like that for HD2 now or I will have to use one of those unlocking websites?
Thanks

If you mean IMEI unlocking, there isn't anything out there yet (afaik). As far as some of those "sites", most of them are having a slew of issues with the TMO HD2. Just call TMO and they will do it for you for free.

I can't call Tmobile, I am not their customer.
I need to unlock it to use with my current provider which is ATT.

Unlock Palm Treo Pro / 850

I would like to unlock my Palm Treo Pro
I have seen that Cheetah/750 extended ROM unlocking tool works all right for Palm Treo Pro:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=419354&page=13
I understand that using Cheetah/750 extended ROM unlocking tool changes the default radio from the Palm Treo Pro, is that correct?
Does anyone know an specific tool or way to unlock Palm Treo Pro.
Tx in advance!
Im confused... where did you get yours? I bought mine from dell, it is 'unlocked' as is correct?

Unlocked for being non carrier specific yes...
Mine certainly was unlocked... not sure what you are trying to do.
What I am trying to do is to SIM unlock my Palm Treo Pro from Service Provider Vodafone Spain to use it with a SIM from another carrier.
Tx in advance
Yes, you can use Cheetah unlocking kit, but im sure you'll end with a expensive piece of dead-technology
Cheetah/750 extended ROM unlocking tool is not the same with Cheeetah SIM/CID unlocker

The Treo Pro is already unlocked out of the box.
No need to unlock it again.
You should have no problem using it on ANY GSM carrier you please (just make sure the frequencies are supported).
You just pop in the sim card.
Good Luck!

And two, you are only out to make a buck! If anyone wants to how how to unlock a "locked" phone, message me and I will run you through it for FREE!

As I said earlier in some countries the phone comes operator / carrier locked.
My Vodafone Spain lock is now removed but anyway tx for your lock removal offer, maybe next time.

You were told in the other thread that the Vodafone supplied TP's are SIM locked. So why all the shouting 3 days later? If you're so clever, how about sharing your easy, free, method to all Voda EU users?
If anyone has any news on how to unlock the devide it would be greatly appreciared.
And, yes vodafone spain pro's are locked

Treo Pro / 850
I currently have my service through Sprint and I will like to unlock the phone so as to use one of the prepaid service that will allow me on their network.
Any recommendation?
All the Palm Treo pro in the U.K, Ireland and most of the other european countries they come as a factory unlocked, they will only have the operator's logo on start up but will accept any other Sim card, I had experience with 4 phones so far and they all accepted another Sim card straitaway, so don't believe what the operator says.

[Q] Flash to Rogers in Canada

Hey all I'm looking for some help on a quick matter. I just sol my HD2 to someone in Canada. Hes using Rogers telecom but primarily just wants to use it as a Android phone on that network. I flashed it to a Energy Rom and the 2.12 radio. Will I need to do anything else on my end to make sure it works when he opens the box? Any creative suggestions are appreciated and yes I did do a search didn't find out anything outside of 40 pages of what I am not trying to figure out.
Is it SIM unlocked? It will not work on Rogers, or any other network for that matter if it hasn't been SIM unlocked. Other then that, he will need to setup the APN settings that Rogers uses, but all in all it should work.
Yup
I installed Cotulla HSPL2 to unlock it. I believe that should be sufficient its just a matter of him putting in the correct APN numbers now I think?
wrong, hspl does not unlock the network.
you need to buy a code online or ask t mo if you have a contract.
also, does your buyer know there will be no 3g?
?
Me under contract? Probably, but my account has me listed on a different phone the HD2 isn't on there anymore.
Now you say wrong but no details on how to correct the problem. Can you be a little more forthcoming on where I should go fix this.
Nevermind I contacted TMO and they are unrooting the phone for free and will send me the code in the few days.
*shiver* unrooting...anyways, yeah you have to SIM unlock it, and HardSPL most definately doesn't do that. And also, the 3G bands that Rogers uses are different from that of T-Mobile, so he will not get 3G data, only EDGE and GPRS.
Thats what he wanted I figured he did the research about it working on Rogers.
BTW why shiver about unrooting? It seems like it opens it up to more stuff?
Because the HD2 isn't "rooted" in the first place. Both Android and the iPhone have dumbed down the masses so that jailbreak and root are commonplace terms that people apply to EVERYTHING in the smartphone sector, and it aggravates me.

[Q]Unlocking Carrier

Okay i will b getting my HD2 today and its on T-Mo and im on ATT i know i need to unlock it to use it on Att but i want to run Andriod on it.
Now the question would be do i have to unlock it prior to using andriod via nand or can i just unlock it in andriod or will it remove the unlock ?
There's no hack to unlock it, you're gonna need a code. Reportedly unlock codes work fine in Android, but you might just as well unlock it in WinMo. Flashing another firmware does not remove the unlock code.

I know i would need to unlock it via code. I just wanted to make sure if i unlocked it via Winmo i could just go ahead and install andriod. Thanks i will be doing that today.
Question is there a good site that provides that service cause i have heard of some shaddy webpages
I recommend getting a code from ebay, it worked for me.
Sent from my HTC HD2 using XDA App
same for me

ebay cost me £6 and took 12hours. The local shop wanted 30 and the phone for 2 days
I'm not sure but I think you can call T-Mobile and they will give you the code for free. There was a post some time ago talking about this. Maybe you can look it up and see what people have done to get the code.
I will be trying to get the code 1st off of Tmobile see if that works i spoke to a buddy of mine that works there. He said that they have to give it to you no matter what. Since i dont have there service i will have my firend call it in and she been a customer for ages of theres.
i will post back once i get a response
*Edit*
So we called last night they said 24hrs been about so no email yet.
I got the code its unlocked but now no 3g speeds that is so disappointing
No 3g speeds on aT&t? Well that's expected since aT&t operates on 3g bands the HD2 doesn't support.

The only way you would be able to use AT&T network is if you buy the Telstra HD2 T9193 other than that your just going to be stuck on edge.

[Q] hd2 network

Go to ebay and look after unlock_fusion.
There are others, too, but this one is verified to be fast, reliable & affordable!
The best way to unlock is to call the carrier if you are using their service, see if they give out unlock codes. Say you need it to use it overseas.

Will LS980 (Sprint) will work on GSM network?

I'm looking everywhere i can,
At LG Site i see that it supports GSM bands (local or international) and at wiki and some people over here says it cannot be done.
My question is, if i will put a foreign SIM card in this phone, will the phone will work under it's GSM Bands?
Thanks,

The phone does have GSM capabilities, yes. But sprint needs to unlock it for you, which I am almost positive until now that even Sprint doesn't know how to unlock it themselves yet because I have not heard from one person that they have unlocked it and comfirmed here there the unlock actually worked.
Some user on the HTC ONE from sprint found a workaround(which I am almost positive can also be one on the G2, because it was done on the GS4), so I am waiting patiently for an answer to this issue.
