Lots of people have experienced this. It's a long-standing WM issue (I believe it goes back as far as WM5), and there is no fix.
glad im not on my own are there any pin locks you would recommend? made by a third party on not factory
I am not competely sure that what I say is true, but I doubt there is any replacement for the PIN lock function... that is simply part of the OS, you can`t disable it. If you could, then why would it exist?
Then again, I`m not sure about this. Someone correct me if I`m wrong.
Can someone please explain what roms mean.

First off, great site so far, lets hope you can help fix my problem.
I got the O2 XDA Exec on Friday, since then I changed a few things in the registry to make it a bit better... then updated the rom to O2s latest one on theie site:
ROM version 1.30.107 WWE
ROM date: 04/11/06
Radio version: 1.09.00
Protocol version: 42.42.P8
ExtROM version: 1.30.162 WWE
My major problem now is, since updating the ROM to 1.30.107 WWE my WIFI wont connect or when it does it disconnects pretty quick, where as it used to stay connected forever. Also, when WIFI disconnects, it says Wi-Fi: Available but will try to connect to GPRS (costing me money which I don't want). Anyone know how to either get wifi to stay connected and connect all the time its available or stop GPRS from connecting when I dont want it to? Would this be due to a hack I tried to stop it shutting off wifi etc on standby? (I may have done it wrong)
Also, where can I get better updates for the ROM or is this the latest one? I'm not afriaid to hard reset or whatever as many times as needed, especially at the moment as it has hardly anything on it and what it has on I can easily get back on.
Furthermore, on the first ROM it had on it, unsure of version, there was a battery bar in Today, since updating this has gone, how do I get that back?
I have a load more questions but i will save those for when I get these ones sorted.
Any help appreciated.
Thanks
Hey guys...
I recently got an Orange SPV m5000. Except for the way it looks, it's a great PDA considering i've been using my old Wallaby PW10A1 ...
But the problem is, it has some speed/memory issues! Whenever i open the Programs, or want to make a call, it seems to be stucked for a second or two. I've been wondering, if this is due to the ROM it has.
About the pda, when i got this, it had SIMLock and the default rom in it.
I've removed SIMLock; thanks to buzz, and upgraded the rom the the newest version from Orange website. But still, the problem is the same..
So, i was wondering, if i wanted this to upgrade to WM6, would it be slower?
If yes, would installing another WM5 ROM solve my problem?
If not, which ROM should i be using?
I'ld be pleased if someone spares time to explain me things. It's confusing, there're so many things that i get lost and forgot all i knew whilst checking the topics!
Currently the phone has:
Operator version: 7.130.1.174
ROM version: 1.30.90 WWE
ROM date: 02/24/06
Radio version: 0.00.00
Protocol version: 42.37.P8
ExtROM version: 1.30.174 WWE
(Notes: I live in Turkey, and my operator doesn't have video calling function running here, yet. So i can do without it too. I also did an extended rom unlocking and backed-up the orange installation files (1.85mb) from the storage just in case something bad happens and i have to install that again)
Update:
Since i was imnpatient; like anyone with a new device, I've currently installed L26_WM6_PRO_Business_V7_Videocall without problems. The radio version is updated at the process but there seems no problems with SIMLock, yay!
The OS seems better and faster for now, i'll update here just incase something goes wrong.
Update 2:
Unfortunately SmartDial is not implemented and the default phone skin (t-mobile) doesn't support landscape mode. It does support, but the dialpad is hidden by default, that confused my mind. But then again, smartdial still is absent from the dialpad section and the skin sucks and it's harder to call
It looks fantastic when compared to WM5, and some new settings along with auto-installed programs came. And i liked them!...
Now, looking for a proper smartdial...
Hallo,
my wizard drives me nuts. sometimes it turns on (screen+backlight) by itself.
of course my battery is empty every evening since this.
in other threads i already noticed that it might have anything to do with
- direct push mail (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=291348)
- PIN (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=299622&page=2)
here are my questions:
1. any other possible reason ?
2. how do i disable direct push mail ? - in the comm manager i can't even turn it on - looks off.
3. when they say PIN - are they talking about the SIM-card PIN ?
if so, isn't there a fix for it ?

I would try re-flashing it and see if that helps.
why reflash ? it's a original rom.
You could also try doing a hard reset, but re-flashing the original ROM is not going to make the problem worse and may even fix it.

It's great. I have NONE of those issues with it. Also, you can flash back to 2.13 if you don't like it. There are links to the official 2.13 download on this site. No worries.

I'm a new user, so I'm not allowed to post UTLs here, therefore combine all of the strings below into one URL:

I have had no issues with the new 3.14 rom
My seemingly unwavering issue is almost a total lack of WIFI connecicity.
I don't want to flash another radio though as my cell reception is great.
Other than that issue, I love the 3.14 ROM
Issue with email accounts not downloading new emails
I have several email accounts, most of them with Yahoo!. One of them I use the most, getting 10-20 messages every day.
I installed 3.14.531.1, and everything's great, except now my email accounts don't update. I know I have new mail (checking via PC), but it doesn't get loaded to the phone. Even manual Send/Receive doesn't work most of the time. The in-box shows all statuses (at the bottom), like "Connecting...", "Logging on...", "Receiving headers", "Disconnecting...", "Finished", ... "0 Items".
There are 3-4 bars of 3G...
In case anyone's experiencing the same problem, here's my "About Phone" info:
OS version: 5.2.21913 (21913.5.0.94)
Manila version: 2.5.20181424.0
ROM version: 3.14.513.1 (04666) WWE
ROM date: 09/29/10
Radio version: 2.15.50.14
I tried hard resetting... Same issue.
Sadly, I'm thinking about reverting to previous version...
you did resetup everything didn't you ?
also you have to re-enable those services

it's natural that after a hard reset I had to reset everything (I didn't restore from a backup or anything like that. All hard, manual work...)
On th other hand though, what do you mean by re-enabling? I thought they are enabled once you enter them in the list (unless I missing something). All of them have a refresh schedule, but they (almost) never work. As I mentioned above, even manual refresh (Send/Receive) doesn't always load the messages.
In any case, thank you for looking into this.
Hi, I've had my HD2 for over a year and noticed this in the last month or so. When I send a text message, it sometimes sits in the Outbox and any others that are sent after it.
I have to hard reset and send another text message before the ones queued up in the outbox are sent.
Also, I cant view the Sent Items. If I select it, I can only see the messages in the Inbox.
I am on Virgin UK:
OS version - 5.2.21869 (21869.5.0.82)
Manilla: 2.5.19211619.0
ROM version: 1.48.405.2 (71294) WWE
Radio version: 2.05.51.05_2
Any ideas?
Really old rom. The 1.4 roms had a very well known and much discissed issue with messages stuck in outbox until soft reset ( you meant soft reset not hard reset).
Id very highly recommend getting a later rom installed, they are up to 3.14 now.
If you have the virgin branded phone 1.66 is the latest you can download as stock
If it a very early Virgin phone it will be unlocked and unbranded then the 3,14 will work, and thats the latest stock ROM.
I would consider flashibf a non stock rom, if you are staying on Mindows Mobile then I recommend this rom:
http://folding.extremeoverclocking.com/user_summary.php?s=&u=205510
its easy to flash very fast and stable. If you look towards android then the ROM in my sig is highly recommended.
What ever you do read the full instructions first, it saves time in the long run
