hello to everybody.
I am experiencing a big slowdown using htc dialer: sometimes it freezes, sometimes the buttons are not functioning even if I press them...and of course when I am phoning...for example I have troubles in pressing the keypad softkey to use the dialer...or to turn on the speaker...
I use the rom in my signature and S2u2 2.34.... no special registry tweaks or strange apps... if I hard reset it works for some hours and after that it starts freezing... I read somewhere it is a know bug of htc dialer... How can I replace it? maybe with another app? using ms dialer? and in this case, how to switch to microsofts' one smoothly?
thanks in advance
all the best

thanks for the tip.
but does it overwrite completely htc software for calls?
I installed inesoft phone trial software just to check...
I have the same issues, so for sure it is a problem related to WM.
Both htc dialer software and inesoft for sure use the same layer....
ahhhh, wtf....
I'm about 99% sure it has to be something specific to what 3rd party software you've installed, because on the same ROM, I didn't experience this, but I did not use S2u2, so if I had to guess, this would be my first place to look. Have you tried uninstalling S2u2 2.34?
yes, I do mtty everytime I flash, and I flashed so many times I stopped counting.
if this is real (3rd party software in conflict) it's a big problem...
which one? I always installed more or less the same software and if I start to check it manually well, I need 1 week...
thanks for the reply anyway.
I am trying S2u2 now... I will post here news
it seems not to be s2u2 or the colored taskbar I use...
I will try hard reset and then one apps at a time... but when I'll have time.
for now, I can live with it...
I am using hard key for ending call... keypad sometimes works, sometimes not...
uff...

I have IPDashboard, Agenda Fusion and Wisbar Advance 2 installed in my Jam. I'm having problems with my PDA not ringing(or vibrating) when in stand-by and need to do a soft reset to enable it again(ringing function). I missed several calls already and I decided to upgrade to 1.06 ROM. i installed the same set of apps and got the same problem. I did a hardreset and have not installed any of the said app and now my Jam works like it should be.
I'm just wondering if any of you are having the same issues that I have and what applications currently installed in your Jam.
WisBar Advance2 is known to have caused problems with Phone Edition devices.
The guy at Lakeridge is even kind enough to inform anyone about this in the middle of the front page on the wisbar download site:

stupid me i missed that.. i've used it with my iMate and 6315 before but I dont remember having that problem
thanks!
I had the same problem with Wisbar.
In the Lakeridge forum there is a beta version that solves that problem.
Works for me.
(In the new beta there is also a working signal strength meter.)
i tried the beta.. so far so good. i just can't have a PDA without WA
task bar replacement for Magic Button
Does anyone know of a good task manager/closer that doesn't cause lockups and screen freezes?
I tried using magic button, but its buggy as hell, same with wis bar advance.
If I don't use any task manager, my jam is jamming. no soft reset or lock up issues.
Please help.
thanks
WA 2.0.14 beta works fine with my Jam(as of now). no lock ups or anything. i just cant find any task manager with feature set as WA thats why Im sticking with it(and great support too)

Hi dnp_now,
I'm using vbar (can be found here: http://www.vieka.com/vbar.htm) as well as TillanoSofts SmallMenu (http://www.tillanosoft.com/ce/smenu.html) for switching between apps and closing them on my german MDA compact.
Both of them are running at the same time and are also linked to one hardware button by VITO ButtonMapper (free version for two actions per button is included in a Cebit-Software package available here: http://www.mobile2day.de/cebit/).
This combination is very practible, because I can start and close every program installed on my MDA using the hardware buttons and dont have to use the stylus:
One tap of the hardware button opens SmallMenu with which I can start the programs and switch between already opened apps, two taps on the same button opens vbar, with which I can close the programs (also those running in the background!).
So one-handed operation is possible without any problem. The only downer is that vbar cant' be used in landscape mode, i.e. better close it when switching to LS and reactivate it when you switch back to portrait mode again.
Hope this helps,
greets, BGK[/url]
I would suggest SPB PocketPlus. Very stable, and well worth the money.
jam keeps turning on when connected via activesync
Hello,
Does anyone know why my jam keeps turning on when its connected via activesync?
I put it on standby, then a few minute later it turns on, and try to sync with my desktop. I'd rather have it on standby most of the time.
thanks
Im having a problem with the eten dialer skin freezing my picture album. So i'm curious as how i can go about uninstalling it without hard resetting, while getting all orignal functions back. I would greatly appreciate replies. This is starting to get a tad bit annoying.
hey mate, sorry to hear you're having issues with it.
assuming you installed this via activesync or a cab file....what you do is go to your settings->system->remove programs and uninstall the dialer. once done do a soft reset and the original dialer should appear.
hope that helps
rob
i had that problem but i dont know if it was because of the eten dialer. i actually love the eten dialer. just had to remember not use the phone when in landscape mode. ha. hard reset it and then add it again. it should work for you. i have an 8125 so maybe it can be the software bro.
Does anyone know how i can remove the touch it blackstone dialer as it is a bit laggy for me? When i try windows tells me it cannot be completely removed.
AFAIK only hardreset will help. Did it twice, now I know how to re-setup my device in few moments. Also I keep all CABs I use on card.
One of the reasons I don't use TF3D anymore is it has tons (1600) files in windows folder which slows down a lot of things. I just don't this kind of mess on my device (WM alone are enough mess).

You are talking about different things here, the dialer does not mean TF3D.
I deinstalled the Blackstone Dialer via Activesync, but I never tried it from inside the phone so I can't tell if there were problems with deinstalling.
Just reinstall the original Xperia Dialpad (dialer)
The cab is here
cab provided deletes HTC's "incoming call" menu previously installed!
The cab installs the Xperia dialpad, that's true, but by completely removing the HTC GUI for incoming calls as well!
To accomplish this, I could also uninstall the HTC gui, I would not need your cab for that!
Is there any way to have both
1. the Xperia dialer
2. a graphical GUI for the incoming call (incl. photo etc.)
This seems surprisingly difficult!
There is an easy way...
... to have
1. a graphical incoming call window including caller photo id
2. the original dial/pin/... keypad of the Xperia
Just install S2U2 (slide2unlock) freeware, you can disable the locking feature and just use its caller id feature!
It works just well, and you can forget about all this additional HTCphone stuff (which of course you should uninstall this way...)!

Not true. S2U2 is even more laggy than the HTC slide to answer thing.
I suggest sticking to the Blackstone dialer, it's the fastest I ever used.
The dial/pin/keypad is only a skin, performance will not improve if you have the Xperia dialer with slide to answer.
hihi,
recently installed a few apps and run into this problem.
before install apps, during NEW SMS, under TO:, i type the name of the recipient and the related listing will appear, (much like the contact search). however, after installing the apps, this function does not work.
anyone encounter the same prob? or could it be the update? i'm not exactly sure when the change happened.
i have
SK tools
HTC EZ Input T9
HTC Enlarge start menu
sony ericsson facebook panel
clifford's XperiaTweak
Zenyee X1i Youtube
Mole Youtube
SE growing panel
smaberg power button X1 12 icons
S2U2
S2v
anyone??
TIA!!
i´m not sure but i think this problem is coursed through the htc t9...
i had the same problem by installing the virtual htc tastatur
just find out by deinstalling which app is the bad one
man i removed htc t9 but problem still persist. a little time consuming to remove everything and try again. but maybe i'll try when i have the time.
thanks anyway.
I have the same problem since installing htc dialer. So I think this is the problem.
i find it comes up when using the on screen keyboards, rather than the hardware keyword.
it doesn't work with onscreen keyboard for mine.
i just realise how good the HTC Enlarge start menu is. cause the stuff is kinda small now.
i'll update you guys what causes the prob. i'm removing all stuff now.
i went to do a hard reset and install one app after another and check. finally got the answer. it is the HTC EZ Input T9 !!!

Just press-in the optical touch pad, under TO:, and it takes you to you're contacts.
yeah. but i don't want to scroll for the contacts. i don't like that method.
thanks anyway. but problem solved! very happy now.

I have not try uninstalling it, but did you try installing the old version and see what happened/
The bluetooth icon is part of the HTC dialer software. Now that you are using a custom dialer, the bluetooth symbol will not show.

I'm not familiar with contact manager - did that also replace the dialer? I tried inesofts solution some time ago and had the same problem - hence the reason i know its the dialer. Uninstalling solved the problem.
Have you uninstalled it? if so, did the icon return? If not, are you now seeing the htc dialer or the wm6 dialer?

This is the only dialer that has removed the bluetooth icon completely....I've tried them all as the standard is pretty rubbish - dont know why it hasnt come back after uninstall?...
It didnt happen on any previouse versions that I used.
I quiet like the software and layout and functions so have re-installed it...Think I will have to live with it till a solution comes about.

installing phonEx did replace the dialer.
i have not try to uninstall it. will do the uninstalling and see what happen...
thanks for yr input.
You can try to use program such SKTools (Tune up!\Phone Edition\) to enable the OEM Dialer skin. The bluetooth icon should be back.
It's back
After uninstalling, I still had the standerd dialer - hence no BT icon. Somehow, after using the dialler a few times a message appears to uninstall the last part of Phonex - and then soft reset. And there the lovely blue icon appeared again, together with the HTC dialler. Although one could blame Iconsoft (and they have to solve it I guess in a new version), it is quite stupid of HTC to combine their dialer and the BT icon. And I can't think of a reason why. Anyhow, Phonex is great, I love the smooth scrolling and access. So I also can live with one icon less, although I would love to have this solved. So let's al inform Phonex about this issue (only on the HD?)

V1.4 is out, give it a go. There were a few bugs in 1.3.5, for me the dialler interface kept going back to the standard one but so far with 1.4 its seems to have fixed it so it may have addressed your problem.
