I'm looking for a small gamepad that connects via bluetooth or usb cable to the Galaxy S for the purpose of playing NES/SNES/Genesis roms. Does anyone know if something like this exists?
Any WiiMote should work.

You here to make the biggest announcement since this phone came out?
Last I checked Wiimotes weren't working due to the change in the Bluetooth stack...
Wiimotes SHOULD work once CM6 comes out, but until then I'm not sure. maybe a PS3 controller? but that's a bit complex and not pocketable haha
I can't tell you when Ryan Frawley is going to release a 3.0 wiimote (or if our vibrants will somehow become able to use the old version) but I can say that in the meantime I have an idea as to how to construct something to tie them together like a PSP.
I have seen others using GPS holders and stuff to the same effect, this just seems like it would be a little less akward to use, so long as you can get your phone released in time to answer a call (or just use a bluetooth, heh).
Attached is a picture of the idea I had, anyone that wants to make it happen is free to. No patents or anything here.
Wiimote does not work on the Vibrant. Works wonderful on the N1.

Why do you think wiimotes will start working with CM6. The hardware in this phone is different than every other Android phone on the planet. This is Bluetooth 3.0. Is CM6 going to downgrade it to 2.1?
According to this post the Zeemote works with the psx emulator. I don't knowif it will work with the nes/snes ones or not. I don't know how well it works as a remote either, just remember reading about this the other day when I saw your post an thought I'd share.

ziimote should work.
otherwise im waiting for CM6 to come out, then im planning on making a slimmer/lighter wiimote.
Based on the view count of this thread, someone could make a lot of Benjamins if they patented, designed, and produced a pint-sized gampad with bluetooth that would work with the Galaxy S. I wish I had the money or I'd do it myself because whoever does could make some hefty cabbage. I know I'd be first in line to buy one...I can't stand the on-screen controls for the emulators, but they are better than nothing at all of course.
Now this is worth a look. Anyone try it out on the Galaxy S?

What about mounting it like this guy did:
Well, since I'm a new user, it won't let me post the URL or picture, but I want to give credit where credit is due.... it's over at PPCgeeks forum. Thread number 129886. or search for "DIY - Custom Evo Gaming Mount! (**Wiimote**/SNES/NES/etc.)"

ROFL that's an awesome idea! Great find! I will definately have to try that, its much cheaper and easier since there are hundreds of those plastic wheels running around.
Its not a hardware problem, its software. Samsung put proprietary bluetooth stack in their version of android they loaded on the galaxy s phones. Its imcompatible, it doesnt support the bluetooth mode that the gamepads need to operate properly. thats why using a vanilla rom, or a rom that utilizes the stock google bluetooth stack (like CM6) works fine.
derek how do we know that? did you take touchwiz off your phone?
i think its a little deeper than that... we can ask eugene tho... he is building a 2.1 stock rom on his phone... we could ask him to try to hook up a wiimote

But I have no idea if the MSI bluetooth works with Galaxy S bluetooth stack, or if ANY gamepad does.

I'd donate a few bucks as well if I could get my wiimote working on my vibrant. It's not about the lack of physical keyboard either, as I hated using the keyboard on my g1 to play emulators. You don't get the same feel nor same fun factor on anything but a controller made for gaming.

No, not yet. It's supposedly being worked on by the same team that did the PSX emulator.

That is awesome! I would pay $30 for this app. Yongzh has said he is working on it for android. He created many of the current emulators, and in my opinion, the best ones. I imagine that like the PSX4droid app he made, not all ROM's will work on it, but even if I could run just a few of my favorite classics. I am thinking GoldenEye, MarioKart 64, Starfox 64, and Zelda.
These emulators, plus an AOSP rom with bluetooth fixed, wiimote controller app. That would really pass time at work, on a plane, in a hotel, on vacation with the inlaws. I can't wait.

ZodTtd, the dev of psx4droid, is in the middle of making one.
A few days ago he posted on twitter saying that he is experiencing a bug where nothing shows up on the screen. I'd imagine once he solves this, a few tweaks will be made then he will probably hand it over to Yong Zhang for him to work his magic (control overlay, settings etc)
This is exactly what happened with psx4droid
Maybe would should start a bounty to help move this along.

I don't have any java experience, but I have reasonable experience in other programming languages. When I get the time, I may take a look at porting it. If the full source code is available, should be hugely difficult to port. It'll be the optimisation that'll be difficult.

Hello Everyone,
I purchased the N64oid Emulator and thought I would let any forum members that it works well on my Xoom. I even am able to play Super Mario 64 on my Droid 1 without problems. This emulator does cost money and so many of you might hesitate to purchase but I just wanted to let you know it works well on the Xoom and so far Super Mario 64, Starfox and Zelda are running great and I think it was well worth the money.
I made a video if you want to see it in action. Why pay if its not for you so check out my video and feel free to ask me if certain roms work or if you want me to make a particular video to see how certain roms play on the Xoom http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KtdQXIcH6gY
Mario 64 runs great on the Xoom but Ocarina ran pretty slow, though I only tried it on the first version, they've updated the application a lot since then... well worth the money.
OoT always seems to freeze for me on pressing start, any ideas why?
Im on the latest version of N64oid, using my Xoom.
Sent from my Xoom using XDA Premium App
Edit: Majora's Mask seems to work just fine though. Pause and all. At least I got one portable Zelda.
Nice video. Thanks.
Question:
How does the wii remote connect to the xoom?
Mario Kart works really well also.

I like using the Wii Classic Controller Pro with my emulators on my Xoom. It's got the combination and feel of all the classic gaming consoles built into one controller. Since it was originally meant for the Nintendo Virtual Console on the Wii, it is great to use with the N64 games as it was a part of the VC lineup. I personally have been using this method on my Androids for well over a year now, but it's great to remind others who had no idea this existed in this first place. Good job man.
I just sold my wii and all controllers argh! would love to use it with some n64 games
Dont forget GoldenEye
It still gets the " hey can you get that for iPhone?" Followed shortly by a disappointed "awww"

Good and Bad news. The app to connect the WiiMotes to your android device supports multiple Wii Motes / Wii Classic . However the N64oid does not support multiplayer yet, well it might never, but I'm been pretty happy with what the all the apps the creator of N64oid, he even frequents this forum, so perhaps he will give us an answer if it will make its way to his N64oid app.

Any major video game vendor should sell this. Here is a link to give you an idea what it looks like.
http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Nintend...988885&skuId=9853244&st=wii classic&cp=1&lp=7
Please note however that you still need the original Wiimote to be able to hook it to your Android device through bluetooth.
Thanks

There is an old thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1319812 which asks the question. Can we use a psp as a wireless controller? PPjoy lets you connect to your p.c and lets you control your p.c. Unfortunately im at the learning stage of android development and feel this is too big of a task for me. Is there anyone out there that would be able develop this on the android side. I can't seem to find any information on the required hardware, or the quality of the stream etc. Anybody know anything about this?

Hello JJ, at the moment we at Mad Catz didn't state that, we will try to clarify that as soon as possible. Our device can be expanded and that's a really interesting feature, however we can't say anything by now. It's true that NVIDIA's GameStream functionality will come shortly, will see what we can do

I'll open mine on Christmas morning and do an unboxing/mini-review. We need to get this forum jumping. Honestly, though, with the specs, the MOJO beats everything. I can't wait to open it, but I technically bought it for "The Family" so I can't do anything! The waiting is killing me.
It's not looking like the community, nor Mad Catz actually care about this product. I think if Mad Catz invested in a solid launcher for this, something for the 10ft experience, they could push it as a feature and really get some hype around this.

To paraphrase dheku-00: You need a bit of Android nerdery. If you're familiar with sideloading and backups and flashing then this is a good device for you. I'm starting to be really quite happy with it. I can't wait for more games to become natively compatible, but in the meantime I'm pretty comfortable ripping games from my tablet and loading them to the MOJO.
This isn't a machine for the mainstream gamer. Certainly isn't friendly as a child's game system.

So far, I've only ripped two: SuperGNES and Team Awesome. Both worked, and both are paid versions (SuperGNES from Google, Team Awesome from Amazon). I have ripped Horn, but haven't had a chance to load it on.
I use AppMonster to rip. I heard that Titanium uses its own format when backing up thus the other machine needs Titanium also (not sure if that is true or not)...AppMonster rips the APK file and I just search through and find the OBB/Data if necessary.
